Summary Chelsie Carroll and Tiffany Danley share their experiences with the James Project and their journey to faith. Chelsie grew up without a strong religious background, but through her friendship with Tiffany and her involvement with the Christ Lutheran Center, she found a deep connection with Christ. Tiffany, on the other hand, grew up in a household of faith and always felt called to ministry. Both women now work at the Christ Lutheran Center, with Chelsie serving as the benevolence coordinator and Tiffany as the director of discipleship and outreach. They both have a heart for serving others and have been deeply impacted by their mission trips to Guatemala with the James Project. The conversation in this part focuses on the emotional rollercoaster of going on a mission trip and the personal experiences and lessons learned. The speakers discuss the difficulty of sharing the experience and the impact it has on their own faith and lives. They also talk about the importance of catching the vision and bringing it back to challenge the rhythms of life in their own communities. The conversation also touches on the impact of sponsoring a child and the deep connection and love that develops. They share stories of the love and healing experienced by the children at the James Project and the transformation they witness. The conversation concludes with reflections on the visit to the women's prison and the challenges of not knowing the outcomes for the children once they leave the project. The conversation highlights the importance of serving others and the impact it can have on both the recipients and the volunteers. It emphasizes the value of small acts of love and the power of community. The legacy of the James Project and the church involved is one of love, faith, and service. The conversation also touches on the need to simplify our lives and prioritize what truly matters. It encourages listeners to overcome fear and hesitation and step out in faith to make a difference in the lives of others. Keywords James Project, faith, friendship, Christ Lutheran Center, mission trips, Guatemala, mission trip, emotional rollercoaster, personal experience, faith, impact, catch the vision, challenge, rhythms, sponsoring a child, love, healing, transformation, women's prison, outcomes, serving others, impact, small acts of love, community, legacy, love, faith, service, simplifying life, prioritizing, overcoming fear, making a difference Takeaways Friendship and personal connections can play a significant role in leading someone to faith. Mission trips can be transformative experiences that deepen one's relationship with Christ and provide opportunities for service and growth. Serving others and being involved in ministry can bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment. The James Project and the Christ Lutheran Center are organizations that provide support and resources to those in need. Mission trips provide an opportunity to catch the vision and bring it back to challenge the rhythms of life in one's own community. Sponsoring a child can have a profound impact on both the child and the sponsor, creating a deep connection and love. The James Project provides love and healing to children in need, and witnessing their transformation is a powerful experience. Visiting a women's prison can be uncomfortable and challenging, but it is important to offer love and support to those incarcerated. Not knowing the outcomes for the children once they leave the project can be heartbreaking. Serving others has a profound impact on both the recipients and the volunteers. Small acts of love can make a significant difference in someone's life. Community and support are essential in carrying out meaningful work. Simplifying our lives and prioritizing what truly matters can lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful life. Overcoming fear and hesitation is necessary to step out in faith and make a difference in the lives of others.

Here we go again...tumultuous times...more wars, upheaval and division. This has left people anxious, weary and feeling overwhelmed. Many caring souls are experiencing what we call in psychology, compassion fatigue ( a term that describes the physical, emotional, and psychological impact of helping others — often through experiences of stress or trauma. ) I've heard reports from prayer intercessors who feel overwhelmed in the process, as events seem to pile on top of each others. They are not sure how to pray; who to pray for; and some are wondering even if it makes a difference? Join Sharon and I as we process the recent headlines and how to keep fighting the good fight of prayer; which for us as Christians, is the most compassionate thing we can do. I think you'll be edified and encouraged to keep up your own personal battle in prayer, as God's purposes are being ushered in through them. His light always overcomes the darkness. Be sure to like, rate and share this episode, so you can be part of brining hope and healing to a hurting world! One person at a time! Soli Deo Gloria. She finished school there at 13 and was thrust into adulthood. More on that later in the show. Lori first embraced her natural in 1997. As we've been in this 3rd season of the podcast, we've had the indelible privilege of speaking to people who have been at the center of justice and peace activity, both in their life personally, as an application of biblical instruction, but also in their city…and fort us here, they've been active and at the center of justice and peace in our city, making the kind of difference that for our guest today, has spanned generations. Neighborhood Ministries is a pillar in downtown Phoenix. Located just on the other side of the tracks, Neighborhood has been at the forefront, demonstrating God's heart for the poor, the marginalized…and the immigrant. Established now 40 years ago this year by founder & president, Kit Danley, Neighborhood Ministries, has become a refuge for so many and continues to bring life, justice and peace to an area that was often faced with death, injustice and chaos. In this episode, Kit graciously dialogues with myself, John and Vermon about how to see justice, both in neighborhoods and for local communities here, but also for those abroad who, for many reasons, now find themselves here. We're reminded that God's heart is for them all, and in prophetic style, Kit has demonstrated that to our city, and explains to us today, just how much.

James Navé here welcoming spoken word poet Gayle Danley ( www.gayledanleypoet.com )to the Twice 5 Miles Microphone and to this show titled Stay Committed to Your Life Long Poetic Vibe. What does staying committed to your lifelong poetic vibe mean? Well, it means that once you take up poetry, you keep it up for your entire life. Indeed, I've heard more than one tale of a poet on the deathbed attempting to write the last poem. Indeed, Gayle Danley is one of those poets who plans to die while writing poetry. How do I know this? Well, Gayle states that she plans to live beyond 90. So, why would one assume anything other than Gayle's last words will be, "hand me a pen and a piece of paper. She might even say while she's writing, "stay committed to your lifelong poetic vibe," For now, Gayle has miles to go before that day comes. Gail is one of the pioneers of the spoken word poetry movement in America, permeating all aspects of our culture. If you have doubts, consider Amanda Gorman, who spoke at Joe Biden's inaugural ceremony. I don't know Ms. Gorman, but I'll bet if you had a chance to ask her what influences allowed you to become such a mighty woman of the word? The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world to survive to the present day, and it remains a marvel of design and execution. Despite this, however, we know very little about its origins, or the purpose of its many peculiar features. Egyptologists generally agree that it was built as a Pharaoh's tomb, but specialists from a variety of different disciplines have shown it to be vastly more complex than other pyramids, and very different from other tombs, suggesting that it may have had some other function altogether.
