On this week's episode we're discussing the ancient origins which inform our collective cultural superstition of Friday the 13th. We talk about some of the bad things which have happened, if an unlucky day can be measured statistically and the mysteriously connected stories from both Norse mythology and The Bible which strongly inform our belief in Friday the 13ths dreaded unluckiness. We also begin to tell the tale of how Friday the 13th has strong roots in the history of The Knights Templar and address a huge piece of the puzzle that I've never heard outside of my own research. In the extended version of the episode we continue with the history of the Knights Templar and dive right into what exactly made them such an unprecedented force on the world stage. We talk about what made them exceptional among other knights and members of the Church before finally digging into the shocking details of the heresies and secret initiatory rituals which were accused of the Templars during their spectacular downfall. In the end we discuss their continued legacy, how it relates to Friday the 13th and take a rare deep dive on the esoteric truths contained in the symbol of The Baphomet. From 1095 to 1291 CE, thousands and thousands of knights, peasants, nobles, soldiers, and more left Europe for the Holy Land around Jerusalem to take land and power away from Muslims, and into Christian hands. Pope Urban II issued a speech in 1095 calling Christian to take up arms and reclaim "Christian" lands. As incentive, he promised salvation for all who died fighting for what he said was God's will. But was it ever about God's will? Or was it about Pope Urban's will? Were the Crusades ever really about anything celestial? Or were they about man and power? Were they mostly about the Catholic Church struggling to consolidate power amongst European Christian monarchs and make sure Christian leaders knew who was really in charge? Holy War? Or power grab? Either way, the decree of Pope Urban set much of the western world on a path we are still following today nearly a full 1,000 years later. Wet Hot Bad Magic Summer Camp tickets are ON SALE! Do you think most Christians spend much time considering the Trinity? Theologian James B. Torrance (and others) have said that most Christians actually are effectively practicing Unitarians-- that God is a single being-- or some practicing monotheists—that a single God operates in three different ways. Do you agree with Torrance? Join Pastor Chris on this Trinity Sunday as he looks at least one group of people who seem to be obsessed with the Trinity: Muslims. What can we learn from what they say about those of us who believe in our Triune God?

Prejudices and misconceptions about Islam are common in the West, particularly since 9/11. For many non-Muslims, this religion often feels standoffish and closed to outsiders. This perception has led to the commonly held belief that non-Muslims are not allowed inside of mosques. Listen to this episode to learn a bit more about whether Muslims really do exclude non-Muslims from their houses of worship and what may be behind such exclusivity, if it does exist.Did you know that Answers is also a YouTube series? Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss the reasons that the Dome of the Rock debunk the S.I.N. According to the S.I.N. Mohammad was taken to the rock where he was ascended into heaven and came back in the year 621. First the Dome of the Rock does not have a qibla, but the two mosques next to it do and are facing Petra. They mention that the Dome of the Rock we have today was not the one built by Abd Al Malik. The building itself was destroyed and rebuilt eleven times. In the second part of the episode they talk about the claim of preservation of the Quran by the Muslims. Jay says that the complete copy of the Quran was produced during Uthman the Calif . All Muslims had to do to back up the claim is to produce a copy of the manuscript from the time of Uthman and have them compare it with a Quran copy of today to see if it is a perfect match.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The opening of Season 4, the final season, is dedicated to one of the most iconic buildings of Jerusalem: the Dome of the Rock. While the Dome has become a sort of brand defining the image of Jerusalem, there is a lot of confusion about its history and purpose. Built by the Umayyads in the late 7th century, scholars developed different ideas about the Dome and our guest, Beatrice St. Laurent, makes some order and gives us a good sense about the chronology and history of the building and how its significance changed throughout time. Today the Dome and the Haram al-Sharif at large have become a key feature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the target of Israeli-Jewish right wing organizations who seek to regain the area in order to build a new Temple; however after the destruction of the Temple in 70AD by the Romans, the site had become a quarry and while it was known to many that the area was sacred, it did not serve any particular purpose until the arrival of the Arab armies in the 7the Century.Beatrice, in her work and in this episode, has challenged many of the common views and histories of the Dome of the Rock, an excellent way to think about one's next visit to Jerusalem.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/jerusalemunplugged. Al and Mel continue to discuss the critique of The Dome of the Rock. They say that there is multiple accounts of who and when the dome was built, which indicate that the building underwent multiple stages of rebuilding due to the fact of multiple earthquakes (ie1015, 1033AD) happened during its lifetime . To assume that the building was damaged but not the inscription is unreal. Also the number of columns changed from 8 inner and 24 outer to 12 inner and 16 outer columns. These are some of the reasons for a later date of the building and inscription according to AJ Duse.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Al and Mel discuss the time of the inside inscription on the building of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Their discussion is built on the article; "The Jewish Serpent King in the Dome of the Rock" by AJ Deus. AJ says that the inscription on the inside of that building is not 7th century inscription but rather sixteenth century. They point out that the crusaders were in control of Jerusalem for two centuries (11th and 12th), and that they held Christian services inside the Dome. It is very unlikely that the pope will leave a memorial for Mohammad there. All this is a strong case for a later date.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

You can find it on the Buzzsprout site if you click on Transcript (next to Description) Or find it on the website:https://storiesfrompalestine.info/2022/01/12/al-aqsa-and-dome-of-the-rock/I recorded this interview after I visited the Dome of the Rock and Aqsa mosque on the Haram al Sharif (the Nobel Sanctuary) in the old city of Jerusalem. We made a special arrangement with the 'Awqaf' so that we could enter into the different mosques on the platform. Then I met with Dr Yousef Al Natsheh, an Islamic art historian who served in the Awqaf for 40 years and who wrote several books on Jerusalem. I recorded this interview in the heart of the old city very close to the Aqsa Mosque. It is important to understand that the whole area on the top of the hill, enclosed by a wall, is referred to as the Aqsa mosque. The area comprises around one sixth of the size of the old city. The two most famous buildings are the Dome of the Rock with the golden dome and the Friday prayer mosque, also called the Aqsa mosque or the Qibly mosque, on the southern end of the platform. There are other mosques, such as the Marwani mosque and the Omar mosque. Furthermore the area has a lot of small domes, platforms, fountains, schools, arches, four minarets and several other structures that all together form the Haram al Sharif, the Nobel Sanctuary. We talk about the history of the location, Jewish claims to the site, Islamic architecture, Mamluks and the end of times. Although Muslims now pray towards Mecca, they once faced Jerusalem.
I have been able to establish from reliable sources that. 1.Christianity was nothing new and was sourced from elsewhere. 2.There was Sanatana Dharma presence in the middle east. 3.Interesting that The Jews were the descendants of the Yadavas, Lord Krishna's Clan. Twenty two tribes left India after the Mahabharata War. Manu is Noah Yayati Yadava 4. After the epic battle of Mahabharata, exodus from India began . Many tribes fled from India towards the North and West. It has come to light that one of the tribes, Ailahs fled to the middle east and the Arabs called their God as Allah, from the Sanskrit speaking tribes Ailah. Ailas were a part of Yadavas and Pauravas who took part in the Mahabharata battle. And this tribe did not stop here. They proceeded further west. And landed in Samaria. Samaritans 5.Sumerian culture's Link with Sanatana Dharma has been dealt with in detail in my earlier Posts. 6.We have the 786 of Islam being the OM of Hinduism. 7.There was Shiva Temple in Mecca. 8.Also in Jordan, Petro Jordan Shiva temple. 9.The Greeks had a fascination for Krishna and we have many legends of Krishna in Greece and there is enough evidence to suggest that the Greeks worshiped Lord Krishna. 10.Pillars of Hercules are reported to be a Tribute to Lord Krishna. 11.Then we have the Tamil connection to Hitti Empire, Mittani,Incas, Aztecs,Mayas. 12.The ancestors of Celts wereBrahmins. I shall be writing on the similarities between Sanskrit and Irish Languages Additional information has come to my notice about the Temple of Solomon( I shall be writing on this later) and about Krishna in Greece and Krishna was the God of the Greeks. Abraham's Tomb. ‘In about 1900 BC, hundreds of thousands of native Indians emptied Northern and Central India and fled to the Middle East after Krishna's Dwarka sank under the water.( I have reservations on the date here) ..*his family together and fled either to the Middle East or to what is now Iraq. Only some gigantic natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods could have caused such an exodus. It was at this time that the Saraisvati and the Indus changed their proper beds. The Saraisvati dried up…( Possible as Krishna's son Pradhyumans' city is in Russia-please refer my post on this) The word Jerusalem is derived from Sanskrit: Yadu-Ishalayam, meaning “The Holy Rock of the Yadu Tribe.” Lord Krishna was a Yadu. The Moslems still revere this huge rock under the Dome of the Rock on Jerusalem Temple Mount. .. Until now, I have been wondering why Krishna's name did not appear in Jerusalem after his arrival there. Yet, the name of the king of Jerusalem,Melchizedek, the mentor of Abraham, did. I once thought thatMelchizedek was the name of a certain person. I made this mistake by thinking that a prince and a son of a Kassite king, Melik-Sadaksina, was a supernaturally endowed prince, magician and spiritual giant. I thought he had accompanied Krishna, Abraham, and Sarah to the Middle East. Later on, I came to realize that the Sanskrit word Sadhaka applies to anyone who is an adept, a magician, one possessed of supernatural powers gained by worshipping a deity or by uttering magical chants…… ‘Krishna and his family probably fled to Iraq. But I'm certain that they went to Jerusalem. The word Jerusalem is derived from Sanskrit: Yadu-Ishalayam, meaning “The Holy Rock of the Yadu Tribe.” Lord Krishna was a Yadu. The Moslems still revere this huge rock under the Dome of the Rock on Jerusalem Temple Mount. (The India We Have Lost,Paramesh Choudhary) I have additionally shown in this article that the New Testament words for Jesus all refer to Lord Krishna and his holy names. The early Christians were convinced that Melchizedek was just a prior incarnation of Jesus Christ, The remains of the Nag Hammadi manuscript entitled Melchizedekseem https://ramanisblog.in/2015/09/06/krishnas-temple-dome-of-the-rock-krishna-greek-god/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message

Another big episode, as Muhammad arrives on the scene. An illiterate merchant in faraway Arabia, Muhammad develops a new faith and community that builds upon the monotheist faiths of his people's neighbors. Ali A Olomi, historian and host of the Head on History podcast, joins me to discuss Muhammad's impact as well as the holiest site in Islam: the Kabaa in Mecca. But most people are forbidden from visiting the Kabaa, so the wonder for this episode is the holiest site in Islam that others can, in theory, visit: the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Randa Ulankiewicz drops by to discuss visiting those sites and Palestine in general. From the foundation of the religion to its remarkable rise and conquest of Syria and Mesopotamia, we'll cover the world-changing impact of the world's most unexpected major religion. This episode is therefore much longer than normal, with significantly more detail than usual. But there's stuffed grape leaves and hummus, so it's worth it. Sources: Armstrong, Karen. Derek shares the history of the Temple and its importance, and how God will use it in the Tribulation to call Israel to faith in Christ, before antichrist desecrates it. Today it is at the centre of a great spiritual warfare, part of which involves a recent theory challenging its accepted location, which Derek refutes.

Jerusalem is alive with religious tradition and passion — Christian, Muslim, and Jewish. If there ever was an energy vortex on this planet, it is the rock in the center of The Dome of the Rock. Jews believe it is the place where Abraham took Isaac for sacrifice. Muslims believe that it was Ishmael who was chosen by Abraham for the same task. Jews believe it is the site of the Holy of Holies, the inner sanctuary of the Jewish Temple. Muslims believe that Muhammed ascended to heaven from that same spot. Christians have their own history of attempting to control this highly-charged geographical location. This podcast tells of the first dispute over the Temple Mount after the second Jewish Temple was destroyed.
The period in which Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan ruled the early Arab empire (685-705) was an important moment in the cementing of a unique Muslim identity. Among the many significant actions taken at this time was the establishment of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
