Hey everyone! It's an honor to be invited to guest mix. :) I'm Camden, a music enthusiast, creator, DJ, and audio technician based in San Diego, California. Throughout my life, I've explored various music genres, but it was only in the last five years that I fell in love with the diverse soundscapes of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Although I've been surrounded by musical instruments since childhood, it's surprising to realize that my first encounter with DJ gear was only three years ago. This is because dance music has become an integral part of my life. From hosting parties to DJing in clubs, designing and operating sound systems for music festivals, and now embarking on my journey as a producer, I've had the privilege of experiencing various facets of the EDM community. My artist name, camlock, is a reference to the cables used to power large festival stages. It's a subtle nod to the homies in the production industry. The dance music scene and community have had a profound impact on my life. They've brought me moments that feel like dreams and allowed me to form some of my most cherished relationships. Inspired by these experiences, I created this mix, which aims to create a safe space for listeners to fully express themselves through emotions. Whether it's the warmth of gratitude, the intense urge to dance, or the pain of unrequited love, these feelings are universal and beautiful. For me, deep/progressive house music from the Anjunadeep label consistently captures these rich emotional qualities. It feels like returning home, a place of rest, processing, and healing. Ironically, over half of the tracks I chose were Anjunadeep releases, but I wasn't surprised. This mix focuses on these themes and includes a recent work-in-progress track of mine. I hope you enjoy it!

In these crazy times that we’re all living through, we need an escape from the confines of the “new normal”. Markus Schulz’s forthcoming album is defined by our need to ‘Escape’. It’s a journey from beginning to end and delivers exactly what we need to free our mind and soul. Host Pat Tully “sat down” from a remote studio with Nedda Saltani, the Director of Lifestyle and Talent PR for EFG PR. Nedda has spent a career in and around festivals. She was a fan first, then made her passion her profession. As a lifelong competitive figure skater, she made the move from competing to coaching at 18. Nedda had a natural public relations vibe to everything she did. She was also an avid fan of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and live DJ performances. As she attended shows and music festivals around the country, Nedda's DJ friends began to ask for her professional help in promoting them. As the DJ world exploded in 2009, the biggest night clubs in the US were recruiting EDM DJ's to come to NYC, Vegas and Miami. Nedda went on the road helping DJ friends and went from the comfortable world of figure skating, to being on tour with EDM artists for months at a time. From the world of representation, she moved into PR and branding, a natural move for her to represent brands and talent as well. At LiveNation she worked with the Insomniac brand, concentrating on dance music and connecting brands to the demographic of the attendees. The discussion turns to how brands should engage with festivals, festival attendees and the safety of those attendees. Brands now have an opportunity to concentrate on those procedures to show attendees that they care about their health and safety. Nedda feels that due to the pandemic, standard safety procedures at large events will change forever. These days, brands can easily miss the mark on messaging. Nedda and Pat explain how a brand can stay relevant, have a socially conscious message and effectively market their products and services. Pat and Nedda examine how brands can be associated with social justice initiatives at festivals now and in the future. As the talk comes back to EFG PR, Nedda discusses the current state of the world, and how they are aligning brands and talent through social media. She also touches on how they are utilizing their media brands to keep them relevant and authentic. The challenges for the rest of the year and next year are complicated for brands and fans at festivals. Listen to the complete episode to get Nedda's expert insight on how she is helping her clients navigate these unchartered waters. Quotes: “Brands need to find ways outside the norm to engage with attendees.” “Ultimately the key thing is how authentic and how invested is it. Is it a temporary give or is is something that will create long term change?” “There is no feeling like looking around at 100,000 people who are all aligned” “Festival season, as you know, is a thing.” Links: Entertainment Fusion Group: https://www.efgpr.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/efgpr/

The first installment of Ryan Key’s spotlight series: The Womp Womp Sessions, a series that explores the multi-faceted umbrella genre of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Colton takes the backseat and puts the host of "CHHC: Christian Hip-Hip Culture" podcast, Adam Stansell, in the shotgun seat. | Focusing in on the crossroads of Jazz and EDM, artists Grammatik, Pretty Lights, and Griz are dived into as examples of this sonic marriage. Boogie T, Louis the Child, San Holo, and Deadmau5 are used to exemplify how accessible technology has become and allowed more insights into the genre and proved that EDM artists don’t just sit behind a laptop at live shows. Marshmello and Slushii are dived into for exploring the heavier sonics but dream like feel that certain EDM artists have. Step, Bro-Step, and Trap are examined and how they contributed to the mainstream-like rise of Dubstep from Herobust and Diplo’s many collabs. All of these genre branches come together to form the Womp Womp, and or the sound one would use to describe the driving, heavy, repeated bass that EDM is famous for. | Follow Wrapped on Instagram: @Wrapped Podcast & Twitter: @PodcastWrapped | Check out our website wrappedpodcast.captivate.fm | Follow Adam @adam_stansell and his podcast @chhc_podcast | Purchase merchandise at https://www.redbubble.com/people/autsalazar/shop?ref=artist_title_name (https://www.redbubble.com/people/autsalazar/shop?ref=artist_title_name) | Music by Eurobeats | Artwork by Autumn Salazar (@aut_salazar)

The first time I had the pleasure of seeing Dixon's Violin was at my first Electric Forest experience in 2018. It was our final day, and we were lucky to even get a ride into the festival that day. How do you say no to an interview with THE PIONEERS of Techno music at Movement? The answer is no matter how nervous you may be... you DON'T. These gentlemen have been making moves since literally forever and on and on and on. Orbital is absolutely one of my favorite acts, and I was so excited to hear what they had to say about playing their first Movement in 18 years. To be fair, they pretty much started Creamfields. Markus Schulz interview at Miami Music Week! It isn't every day that you have the opportunity to interview your favorite Trance DJ in the world. Normally, my nerves get the best of me. Despite any prior skepticism about the dance music landscape this year, it brought to the forefront an array of musical masterpieces. Many songs, predominantly from the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) genre, were beautifully transformed by remixes that elevated their original's charm, expanding their reach and longevity in the dance music arena. Standout examples include Dua Lipa's "Be the One," Rihanna's "Love On the Brain," and the superb collaboration of Flume and Tove Lo's "Say It," alongside a personal favorite, "Issues" by Julia Michaels. 2017 introduced us to a wave of promising new artists contributing to the Top Dance Songs of 2017, their longevity and impact yet to be fully assessed. At the forefront was Dua Lipa, who soared to stardom backed by Warner Brothers, becoming an absolute sensation with her stunning looks, captivating vocals, and compelling lyrics. Similarly, Julia Michaels showed immense promise, especially with her standout track "Issues," potentially giving the likes of Ellie Goulding serious competition in the future. Other artists who proved their mettle outside their multi-platinum bands were Niall Horan, with hits like "This Town," "Slow Hands" and Camila Cabello, with tracks "Crying in the Club," "Havana". However, for debut artists like Cardi B. ("Bodak Yellow") and Luis Fonsi ("Despacito"), whose first singles were chartbusters, maintaining that level of success could prove challenging. We also extend our hearty applause to Kesha, who with the release of her album "Rainbow", apart from Dr. Luke, demonstrated her raw talent and versatility as an artist. Her Grammy nominations for Best Pop Solo Album and Best Pop Solo Performance are well-deserved. There's so much to cover when discussing the Top Dance Songs of 2017, but to avoid overloading you with information, we'll reserve more insights for our next installment. Stay tuned for the third part of the Top Dance Songs of 2017 coming this Friday. Until then...ENJOY! We present our Monthly Radioshow "Mykonian Sessions" for the month of August 2015. From Deep House to Techno, Every Friday a new 120'min Mixtape with Vinyl Mode + 1 This week we are glad to present a new Mixtape live with tracks by (Hour 1)Mixed By Vinyl Mode: Mel Bell, Moritz Guhling (SOSO), Lucio Malatoid (Malatoid Records), Casual Affair, Stefan Z (Motek Music), Chelsea Wolfe & Maceo Plex (Ellum), Maxxi Soundsystem (Futureboogie Recordings), Adriatique (Cityfox), Russ Yallop, Panicnoise. Bog(Akbal Music), Maya Jane Coles (I/AM/ME), Ten Walls (BOSO). It is our pleasure to present you our guests for August, 07, 2015. Our brother from the Glowrec. family Ricardos Raphie presenting an exclusive LIVE set in the second hour. As far as Ricardos Raphie, a producer/DJ based in Haarlem (The Netherlands), can recall, his interests always had something to do with musicand still does more than ever! What started as a hobby on a friend's attic now grown into a serious way to express his feelings. After five or six years of producingHip-Hop beats for local rappers he decided to change course and fully focus one the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) genre. First just expirimental, minimal bleeps but as soon as he found his niche he took all his gained knowledge and inspiration to turn it into grooving Tech House and Deep Houseproductions that will definitely stimulate you to make your way to the dancefloor. Ricardos Raphie also isn't averse to other styles in music such as Frenchcore (along with Dr. Peacock) and Dubstep. Even though these side projects evoked a lot of positive feedback, he still wanted to follow his heart and kept on giving the Tech House and Deep House heads what they want.Ricardos Raphie released a couple of tracks through various labels so the people started to get a taste of what he is capable of on aninternational level. One thing lead to another. Taking place behind the turntables was just a logical follow-up. That way he can introduce more people to the result of his hard work he did in the (home) studio. Many visitors of different venues and festivals have now experienced the energy of his entertaining live-act.Ricardos Raphie is also the organizer of the succesful events 'Dagelijkse Kost' and 'Grijsdraaiers'. "There's nothing like a packed venue with people that came to enjoy a clubnight that has been set up by yourself", he says. The production fase in the (home) studio suits him best though. Surrounded by knobs and switches. Creating his own reality for a moment to finally result in another banging Ricardos Raphie production! Take for instance Agnes's “Release Me,” a pulsating anthem that propelled the reputation of the dance production team Cahill while heralding a fresh era for house music. There's an interesting tale behind how I acquired the first three tracks on this volume. Rewind to 2006, where Tower Records on Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta was the go-to hub for house music aficionados like me. Amidst a landscape that was morphing at warp speed—thanks to file-sharing platforms like Napster and WinMX—that brick-and-mortar store was the relic of a bygone era. The mail-order dance labels like LA's Perfect Beat and eBay's bootleg promos were the alternative channels, but nothing beat the physicality of holding that CD in your hands. Fast-forward to today, and it's not just the music but the medium itself that has changed dramatically. Steve Jobs redefined how we consumed music with the introduction of iTunes and the iPod. Online platforms like Beatport, Traxsource, and JunoDownload capitalized on this shift, evolving into formidable businesses catering to a dedicated niche of house music lovers. The influence of UK-based labels like Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi cannot be underestimated in the Millennial House Music Classics scene. But times have changed; US-based Ultra Records and Spinnin' Records have stepped in to fill the void, stretching its influence into mainstream genres. The growth of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) in recent years, often seen as the heir to house music, has reshaped the industry landscape even more. Don't be fooled into thinking that Millennial House Music was all produced in high-end studios. The democratization of music-making, facilitated by advancements in technology, means that aspiring artists can now generate professional-level tracks from the comfort of their bedrooms. With smartphones now more powerful than the original iPod, our music libraries have become as mobile as we are, available for streaming anytime, anywhere. So, let's release our minds and dive into the tracks. From Soul Avengerz and Angie Brown's "Sing" to Grant Nelson's remix of Negrocan's feel-good "Cada Vez," each tune encapsulates a moment in the Millennial House saga. Blaze's "Most Precious Love 2006," featuring Barbara Tucker and remixed by Freemasons, is a shimmering epitome of vocal house. Then there's "MyMyMy" by Armand Van Helden feat. Tara McDonald, remixed by Stonebridge—a track that encapsulates the fusion of electronic elements and soulful vocals. Lastly,
Steve Cherubino plays guitar, drums, and keyboards, but is an Electronic Dance Music (EDM) producer, who also hosts a podcast highlighting that genre. He talks about how he creates his music, the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, guests he’s getting on his show – including a Grammy nominee – plus his respect for the likes of Hardwell, Skrillex, and Avicii.

This week we discuss Electronic Dance Music (EDM), an entire genre of music that Tim just learned about by reading an article in the New Yorker, officially making him an irrelevant old man. To be fair, Tom doesn't really understand much about it either, and the two of us just fumble our way through trying to decipher something that is meant for people much, much younger and cooler than us. Also, Tim has trouble canceling internet service and must come up with a big lie to avoid offending a customer service representative, and Tom tries his hand at vigilanteism when he witnesses what may possibly be a crime outside his window. Finally, we announce a brand new addition to the Complete Guide family, a new podcast called "Pop Everything" that begins this Thursday! Check it out on iTunes or at tcgte.com.
