Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHTHE DEAD SPEAK! The opening crawl reveals that a mysterious broadcast has been heard across the galaxy in the voice of the late Emperor Palpatine. BUT HOW?! Leia dispatches agents across the galaxy to gather information on this, while Kylo Ren, now Supreme Leader of the First Order, searches for Palpatine in an effort to eliminate all potential threats to his power.Kylo Ren finds this triangle thing which leads him to a hidden planet where he finds Palpatine, still kicken. Palpatine unveils a fleet of Star Destroyers and offers it to Kylo if he finds and kills Rey, who is continuing her Jedi training under Leia. During Rey's training, She has a chat with Kylo Ren through their Force bond—brief flashes of the past—and accidentally crushes BB-8 during training. I was so mad at her for hurting sweet BB-8.Poe announces to the Resistance that Palpatine is alive and plans to unleash his fleet. To stop him, they need the Sith Finder which Rey believes to be on a planet called Pasanna.The. crew lands during a sick dance party. Rey meets a local who gives her a necklace—through their Force bond, Kylo take it from her and determines her location. Rey is soon approached by Leia's contact—Lando Calrissian. He explains that he and Luke once searched for a Sith hunter named Ochi, who may have held the key to finding the Wayfinder. They found his ship, but no trace of him.Stormtroopers arrive, and the heroes flee into the desert, falling into quicksand that leads to an underground cave. There, they find a Sith dagger inscribed with a clue. Unfortunately, C-3PO's programming prevents him from translating Sith text.Rey senses Kylo approaching and confronts him while the others prepare for takeoff. She brings down Kylo's ship but is shocked to see Chewie captured. As she and Kylo both use the Force to stop a transport from leaving, Rey loses control and unleashes Force lightning—destroying the ship and, seemingly, killing Chewie.Don't worry - Chewie is fine. He was on a different ship and they're going to hold him captive.Poe takes the gang to see an old friend, Zorii Bliss. She takes them to a tiny little fella who can bypass 3PO's programming so that 3P0 will finally translate the Sith text, but will also erase his memory. Suddenly, the First Order arrives, having tracked the group. Rey senses that Chewie is alive on their Star Destroyer—they realize he must have been on a different transport. The crew sneaks onto the ship. While Finn and Poe are captured, Rey goes to retrieves the dagger, has a force battle with Kylo, and has a vision of the emporer killing her parents, who were hiding her to protect her. Kylo tells her it's because she's a Palpatine. The captives are about to be executed—but General Hux intervenes, revealing himself as the spy. He helps them escape, explaining he doesn't care who wins, as long as Kylo loses. Rey refuses to join Kylo Ren in destroying Palpatine and the crew escapes with Chewie and the Falcon. Hux is immediately killed for being a spy. The team heads to where the Death Star wreckage lies. They meet Jannah, a former stormtrooper who, like Finn, escaped the First Order. Rey finds the Wayfinder—but experiences a dark vision of herself as a Sith Vampire combo package. Kylo shows up and they begin to fight. Suddenly, Kylo gets a vision of his mom, Leia, taking her last breath. He drops his lightsaber which Rey catches and uses to stab him. But then when she feels like Leia is dead, she heals Kylo so he can mourn without pain:? idk man. Kylo has a vision of his father who encourages him to return to the light. Kylo throws his lightsaber into the water. Poe is named General and doubts his ability to lead. Lando comes outta nowhere to give him a pep talk. Intending to exile herself like Luke, Rey tries to destroy her lightsaber, but Luke's Force ghost appears. He tells her that Leia knew all along who she was and still believed in her. He gives her Leia's saber and helps her retrieve the Wayfinder from Kylo's ship. Rey pilots Luke's old ship. With a signal from Luke's ship coming through, the Resistance prepares for battle. Poe and Finn lead the attack, on horse back cuz duh. Rey shows up to confronts Palpatine. Dude is pumped to see his granddaughter. He says he doesn't want to kill her, rather he wants her to kill him so his spirit will enter her and they can lead together. Kylo shows up and they fight together, sharing Leia's saber through the Force. Papetine enjoys the show and then uses his lightning fingers on both of them which is like draining their power. The Resistance attacks Palpatine's fleet, but they're outmatched. Just as hope fades, Lando arrives with a massive fleet from across the galaxy. As Rey lies on the ground, she hears the voices of past Jedi who encourage her to get up! She confronts Palpatine again, deflecting his lightning with both Luke and Leia's sabers. As he declares “I am all the Sith,” Rey responds, “And I... am all the Jedi,” and destroys him. She's on the verge of death from the blast, but Kylo climbs out of the pit he was throw in and revives her with his own life force. They kiss BIG ONESSSS! But then he dies. Womp Womp. The Resistance destroys the Sith fleet. And the heroes reunite and celebrate the win. The movie ends with Rey and BB8 take the Falcon to Tatooine. She buries the Skywalker lightsabers there and shows that i guess she has her own yellow one now. When a local asks who she is, she says Rey. Follow up Q for you - Rey who? She ponders the answer until she sees the ghost of Luke and Leia smiling at her and she says Rey Skywalker as she and BB9 watch the twin suns.
We're tackling a particularly weird case today while Mark takes a much deserved vacation. Seth, Heather and guest host Aaron dive into the 1973 case of Sam the Sandown Clown, one of the most bizarre monsters... well, ever. Email - Monsteropolis@smalltownmonsters.com SHOW NOTES: BUFORA Journal Report - 1978 Monsteropolis Sam the Sandown Space Ghost Clown INTRO We told you Seth was coming back. Ha! But there's a catch! Mark is on vacation. I know, total rip off. I'm sorry. Some other guy is here to fill the mic. Announcements? Ohio Bigfoot Conference Dawn of The Dogman is filmed! Thank you Backers. Ogopogo Discount code - 10% off the book, movie or cup until 5/15. No mail this week Today we're talking about a case that is usually discussed in UFO circles, but we've picked it because it has a very, very weird monster. And really, the incident itself doesn't have any ACTUAL UFO sightings - just some nearby ones that add to the mystery. Get ready. We're going to the UK today. All the way, all the way over there. It's May 1973, Tuesday at around 4 PM, the Isle of Wite, near Lake Common, adjacent to the town of Sandown. Two wee children, around age seven. Their names have not been publicly disclosed apparently, even all these darn years later. Can't say I blame them though, and you're about to find out why. They are usually referred to in retellings as “Fay” and “Unnamed boy” SUDDENLY, they heard a HORRIBLE WAILING NOISE which they described as sounding like an ambulance. Being wee curious children they investigated, following the sound into the woods. Why's there an ambulance in the woods? That's a good question. There's not. The wee children found themselves near a little bridge running over a little stream, very idyllic except for the wailing, when SUDDENLY A WEIRD GUY WAS THERE. About seven feet tall and dressed like a clown. Triangle shaped eyes. Three toes and three fingers. Appeared to be made of WOOD. Like, wooden planks for arms. Also wooden antennae poking out from either side of it's head. Red hair that fell to the forehead, and circular marks on his cheeks, even a little bob on top of the hat. And when we say “dressed like a clown” we're talking green tunic, white breeches, conical yellow yat. Like something straight out of Rankin & Bass, but like, wrong. Also, seven feet tall. You know what? Here's a picture. I just love this dude so much He kind of trips and splashes in the water, and he's holding this book. Like a regular book. And he drops the thing, right in the water, sort of playing out this whole cartoonish thing, like you hear the music from the animated movie based on this in your head and it's like “womp WOMP womp WOMP womp womp WOMP WOMP wompy wompy WOMP WOMP WOMP” Then it picks up the book, jumps up on the riverbank and starts like, DANCING AROUND like it's on the moon or something, lifting it's legs up super high, doing a fancy jig I guess. THEN it turned and ran off towards a small metal hut, which had apparently been there the whole time, and dashed inside. What? This isn't normal? Seems very normal to me. And the kids are scared, I mean, you know, they're not having a great time. This isn't what they signed up for. But then the tall weird dude comes back, and he's holding a microphone, and the wailing sound picks back up and the kids are like, nah dude, and they book it. But then the wailing sound stops, and the weird clown man TALKED. “Hello. Are you still there?” And the kids can hear him, even though he's “fifty meters” away. Did I mention the microphone? He's talking into the microphone. So they stop and turn back and clown brother takes the book back out, the one he dropped earlier. He scribbled a bunch of stuff in the book and showed it to the kids, but was apparently just a bunch of random words out of order. Then he starts pointing, one word at time, repeating the same sequence over and over again. And the message said, “I AM ALL COLORS SAM. HELLO AND I AM ALL COLORS SAM.” Would anyone like to play the part of “kids” for this sequence, I'm down to play Clown, I can also just make scifi noises in the background if you guys wanna do it KIDS - “Are you a man” CLOWN - “No” KIDS - “Are you human” CLOWN - “No” KIDS - “Are you a ghost” CLOWN - “Not really, but I am in an odd sort of way” KIDS - “What are you” CLOWN - “You know” Sam also explained that there are others like him on earth, but that they fear human beings. He stated that if he were attacked by humans, he wouldn't fight back. This is around when they realized the creature could talk without the microphone, but the voice was distorted and the lips didn't really move, like someone trying to use a ventriloquist dummy. Then he just turns around and walks towards the hut, and invites the kids to follow him inside. Alright like we're all parents, so obviously there are some concerns here. It's not looking good. And it's gonna get weirder but not like, in a bad way, so, it's cool. It's cool. I've been playing a lot of Stardew Valley lately and this is sending me They crawled through this little hole in the side of the hut. It was two-storied on the inside, and had blue-green walls covered in dials or knobs. Then Sam pulled out a berry, stuck it in his ear, and the kids saw it roll around behind his eyes. Then it popped up in his mouth I guess, like a reverse nutcracker or something, and then he just eats the berry like normal. Like that's just a normal thing to do. They hang out with Sam for a little while, just, chatting about space stuff I guess? And after thirty minutes or so they bounced, headed home, play time is over, okie dokie. The kids keep it largely to themselves, except apparently ran up to the first adult they saw on the way home and said they'd seen a ghost. The unnamed bystander didn't believe them. Stupid idiot. Three weeks later the girl lets it slip to her dad. The report refers to dad as “Mr. Y” to protect his anonymity. Mr. Y didn't take the story seriously, until his daughter continued to insist that it was an actual event, apparently becoming upset when he didn't believe her. Then he starts to question like you and I probably would, “Wait, what if something bad happened and this is just like the child version of it” So he goes and asks the other boy about it, and after some prodding Unnamed Boy tells pretty much the exact same story that Mr. Y's daughter did. Uh oh, two witnesses. Now obviously the kids could have come up with this whole thing on their own. I used to have an imaginary friend that was a giant donut. But Mr. Y starts taking it more seriously, and contacts BUFORA - The British UFO Research Association. Brilliant name. Blows MUFON out of the water. Our information today comes straight from that report. But here's another fun fact - Mr. Y had his own UFO sighting in October of 1970 and March of 1972, so as he's hearing this story from his daughter, he's coming off of two really bizarre encounters of his own. Obviously already asking himself what's out there, what's going on, etc. The report specifically states that Mr. Y never disclosed his own experiences to his daughter. I mean, later probably, but not while she was a kid and not during this encounter. He described a large ring of “seven or more spheres” hovering over a river with no apparent purpose. He had eyes on it for several minutes, and other witnesses passed and remarked on it while it was visible. It moved over trees and between some buildings. During his second encounter he saw two glowing yellow orbs beneath the surface of the water on Compton Bay, which he was overlooking from a cliff face. It was between 9-10 PM. In the the BUFORA article Mr. Y is quoted thusly, Sam. This is Sam. Sam the Sandown Space Ghost Clown. What do you guys think? I've always felt like maybe this guy is a really bad intergalactic salesperson. The vague answers, flashing fancy goods, obviously really nervous. Like he's here to sell space toys to kids and he just can't hack it, so he gives up half way through the pitch and just invites them in for berries. He's already waving around a sketch book and a karaoke machine. He's clearly conjuring Christmas Elf with this disguise. Speaking of Rankin and Bass, and bear with me here, because we're gonna go skeptical for a second - the first Rankin and Bass movie to screen in the UK was Willy McBean and His Magic Machine in 1965. Rankin and Bass's Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer premiered in the US in 1964, and while I wasn't able to find a UK release date, we can assume it would have been relatively soon. Maybe before 1973, even. The film features an elf named Hermey who wears your traditional elf garb, not dissimilar to Sam's. Also present is a living snowman voiced by Burl Ives… named Sam. And of course Bumble the Yeti. I'm NOT saying the kids probably saw this movie and dreamed up some scenario and stuck with it just because that's what kids do sometimes, I'm not saying that at all, but I also kind of am saying that, because ultimately that's the most PROBABLE explanation. Even if they hadn't watched these particular films. One point that's often mentioned is the amount of detail the kids gave when describing the hut and the creature, leading people to assume they couldn't have made it up, but dude? Dude. Kids be mad smart. They can imagine all kinds of stuff and have memories like bear traps when they're interested in something. You ever talk to a nine year old about Pokemon? And also, this was before Pokemon - there wasn't as much entertainment in those days. Dang I feel like I just ruined it. On the other hand, the previous statement is just a theory, and is based on assumptions. There's no direct line that ties the Sam incident to the Rankin & Bass films, or ANY films for that matter. The more fun, bizarre theory is that this was some kind of space creature or interdimensional interloper, and that it was attempting to disguise itself as a human, and failing. Maybe it wanted to practice blending in, and figured a couple of kids were a great place to start. If they freak out they're a lot smaller than you, and nobody is likely to believe them anyway. The fact that Mr. Y got the same story two times from two different kids helps, as does the fact that he had his own UFO sightings in the same area. Then again, we could flip that and say that Mr. Y wasn't able to remain completely objective due to his own experiences. WE will simply probably never know what really happened in 1973. Since, as far as we know, the witnesses have remained anonymous, and for all we know may not be with us anymore (fair chance Fay and Unnamed Boy are still around but that's just a guess based on how old they'd be today), this one will likely remain an obscure and incredibly entertaining mystery.

As with our last episode, there is no video for this episode WOMP WOMP our bad but have no fear!! Videos will be back in episode 3. THIS WEEK HOWEVER, Episode 2 of Season 8, we are getting pretty dark. Usually we like to balance out the darkness with the light (as above, so below - praise Baphomet) but hey sometimes it doesn't work out that way. Lauren is starting us out with a new segment called REALITY TV CORNER and is introducing us to some REALLY messed up reality tv shows that, not surprisingly, did not make it further than a season or two. THE SWAN on Fox wherein "ugly" women were given full plastic surgery makeovers to win a chance to compete in a beauty pageant and KID NATION on CBS which should have just been called "Child Endangerment: The Series." Then Ashley takes the lead to teach us about a man named Jolly who was not very Jolly at all. Louis Joyland West has some of the clearest and most nefarious connections of ANY scientist to the CIA's top secret (now declassified) program MK ULTRA (1953-1973) and one event he is connected to is so horrific... so monstrous... and so suspicious that you will struggle to believe it. Mommy and Daddy tried to prevent you from sneaking into the R-rated area of the new age shop....not in this episode.Dive into the spellbinding realm of occult and Thelemic magick with Marco Visconti, an expert guide in the esoteric field, in this enlightening episode of Open Loops. Greg and Marco delve deep into the enigmatic world of Aleister Crowley's Thelema, a magical philosophy that's as dynamic as the technology we use today, and explore its intricate ties with the universe we inhabit. And yes, there's sex magick. Listen in as they unpack the importance of personal practice in truly mastering the craft of magic. From discussing the intriguing role of sex in magickal practice (calm down over there) to its untapped healing potential, they leave no stone unturned. They also venture into the realm of the magician's toolkit, examining everything from sacred geometry to the mystical scrying mirrors. Learn how these tools can transform you into a spiritual radio transmitter (oh baby, you turn me on like the radio), opening doors to dimensions beyond your everyday reality. From the complexities of practicing magick in a modern setting to the potential impact of dark magick on world events (Harry Putin and Sorcerer's Stone?), Marco brings to light the clandestine corners of the occult world. Tune in, uncover the hidden truths, and prepare to see reality in a whole new light. Welcome to the grimoire adult section. Marco's Website: https://www.marcovisconti.org
When in a new relationship (of substance!) comes along it's great to finally get past the phase of "job interview-itis" and get to know each other deeper. But, it's another thing when experiencing new things with your partner that might not be all that "new." Remember that restaurant you're taking your new beau to? That was where your ex first said I love you. Remember the picnic in the park last week you took your potential partner? You took your ex there for her birthday. Your S/O finally called you by a nickname... problem is your ex used to call you that too! Womp WOMP. Dating & being in multiple relationships, you will eventually come across the same stages / activities / milestones that you did in previous ones. Situations like these may give you pause, but should you be concerned or are they just things that are par for the course in relationships? On this episode, I discuss things in my personal life I've encountered making new memories with my new girlfriend while old memories occupy the same space. Also I share stories and anecdotes about similar situations and what other people think about Memory Lane creeping up on Modern Times. Listen in to hear more! I also pull out Card #136 with another edition of The Skin Deep's {The And} 'Self Edition' card game. Today's card question is: "What is The Best Question to Ask to Serve Me the Most?" A major announcement by Spotify that couldn't be worse. Instead of giving real people access to the platform to be influencers and curators of music, they announce their new AI DJ. It is so bad, we mock it mercilessly. Can AI do that? Bob Rivers, Zip Zipfel, and Ed Kelly… with special guests Spike O'Neill, Shawn Alexander, and Comedian; Andrew Rivers (@andrewjrivers). The failure of Silicon Valley Bank could lead to contagion. No matter how much you hate seeing rich people bailed out, it has to happen. Blame the banks, blame the regulators, but don't forget the Fed has been trying to “break” something by skyrocketing interest rates. Shawn Alexander's family owned banks made him quite familiar with this “game” that is played with real money. Andrew Rivers has taken a 5 day break from Cannabis… which leads to a little frank father son dialogue about moderation and addiction. We're just scratching the surface. Dad uses and has used Cannabis again for neuropathy, nausea, etc. That's medical, but admittedly a gummy makes music sound incredible. So what's moderation? When do you cross the line and become a Stoner? I suspect part 2 of this discussion is coming next week. Tyson Chicken is closing factories, because of low profit margins. We're all worried this will affect our god given right to “cheap eats”. Can you imagine Eminem doing a rap about cats? We'll help you with that. Listening to the audio on Podcast Service? Tom Cruise's ad for Tom Cruise, EXCLUSIVE: new Jason Carr tapes, Eli Zaret joins us as the Detroit Lions win again, Donald Trump sells out his NFTs, remembering Gallagher, and Drew bids to renovate Oakland Hills. The Detroit Lions win again in comeback fashion. Playoffs? You want to take about playoffs? Eli Zaret Zooms in to discuss the Lions victory, the Minnesota Vikings biggest comeback victory in NFL history, Argentina winning the World Cup, white basketball players, the Detroit Tigers adding Matt Boyd, JD Martinez to the Dodgers, and his take on Jason Carr firing from WDIV. Drew wants us to work on Christmas Eve. Corey Feldman's wife performs one of the greatest piano solos of all-time. Jenny Popach is 15-years-old and going a bit too far on TikTok. Elon Musk banned (and then unbanned) a bunch of journalists for 'doxxing' him. His ownership of Twitter is making everybody fight with each other. Donald Trump's NFTs sold out. 20% of men ages 25-34 live with their parents. Movies: Drew finally watched The Replacements. Drew finally watched The Whole Nine Yards. Drew also watched Any Given Sunday for 2 hours and 42 minutes. We remember... The Program. No one wants to buy Aretha Franklin's house. Patton Oswalt still has the worst apology of all time. RIP Sharon Riley. Tom Cruise has commercials for... Tom Cruise. We dive deeper into 'The Jason Carr Tapes' starring a very "aloof" Jason Carr. Gary Glitter is being released from prison. Here's another example of Gallagher clashing with an interviewer. The Freep had a good piece on Bookies and the Godfather of Gay Detroit. There is a whole bunch of Chippendales content out there right now and it's all true crime related. Sam Bankman-Fried was a donor to Debbie Stabenow and she is going to give the money to charity for a write-off. MSU is still getting called out for now explaining why former Business Dean Gupta was fired. Who would go to portrait ceremony... especially for former MSU President Lou Anna Simon? Other Sports: The guy who caught Aaron Judge's 62nd homerun turned down $3M for the ball only to auction it off for... $1.5M. WOMP WOMP! Nobody disrespects Amar'e Stoudemire's grandma. Not even his daughter. Oakland Hills Country Club is planning an $80M renovation following the great fire of 2022. Some people are saying they are overpaying. Enjoy our conversation with Gallagher from back in 2010. We're going to have to dive into Don't Pick Up the Phone on Netflix. #RollingThunder starts today and Christ-filled Rednecks from around Canada (Alberta and Quebec, mostly) are pretending to be bikers and veterans protesting for Veterans this weekend. They are not bikers or veterans. They are delusional religious extremists and assholes looking to hang Justin Trudeau. They also want to cash in on the victim industry in this country which is a THRIVING industry. @CarymaRules takes us for a walk through the exclusion zone and brings up to speed on her findings and sets the table for the Qanon outdoor BBQ this weekend in #Ottawa. Protestors are being targeted by people who think they are ANTIFA and the video is wild. We go over the police report from night one and go on walk about with Caryma to get you inside this hillbilly disco. WOMP WOMP.

Since the beginning, Frankie Sicoli, known as Rated R, has continuously proven to be a dangerous player in the Bass music scene. After producing two of his most groundbreaking singles, “OH F*CK” with DrinkUrWater and “Womp Womp” with VRG, his name was virally known within the EDM community and major music festivals. Following these major releases, Sicoli used his time wisely to revolutionize the Rated R project by advancing his visual brand and incorporating a new sound into his genre-defying style of dubstep. His aggressive bass lines combined with heavy-rock musical elements creates the Rated R experience we know today and has been recognized by major industry sharks such as Excision, Carnage, Riot Ten, Sullivan King, SayMyName, Kill the Noise, and ATLiens. Snails, a bass music leading figure, soon welcomed Rated R as a member in Slugz Music where he released his latest EP, “Hostage". From being a part of Excison's first Gen on Subsidia to collaborating with Sullivan King on his biggest EP yet with "Stitches," Rated R is seen as a force to be reckoned with. It's not surprising that every stage Rated R performs on fills up to capacity. His hard work is evident both visually and musically as he breaks down industry barriers with each release, setting him up with a bright future ahead of him. We polled our colleagues at Moser to see what tech gifts had them really excited this year. But, the poll was a clever ruse! The prize for answering was an invitation to appear on this week's episode of ASCII Anything to discuss the item they contributed to the discussion. (Cue "Womp-Womp" SFX from Let's Make A Deal)From power banks, eye massagers, and even fully loaded electric vehicles, this gift-giving episode has options for all of your lists, so get in touch with your inner Grinch or Scrooge and let them know it's time to act like the end of their stories.
