In this episode, Robin announces her latest collaboration with Women OUT West Tours whereby Robin will lead and facilitate in-person “Firefly” Retreats in Escalante, UT. The inaugural Firefly retreat is October 9-13, 2022. But that won't be the last, so if you cannot make it on October 9, there will be plenty more to sign-up for. In this episode, Robin also touches upon a little bit of Gay History when she discusses the Stonewall Riots, the book, “Game Changers: Lesbians You Should Know About”, and her new favorite podcast, “Making Gay History”, by Eric Marcus. “Making Gay History's” unique format, historic context and non-celebrity interviews make for an entertaining AND sobering way to learn about the mind-blowing prejudices and harassment our gay brothers and sisters endured, and oftentimes didn't endure, before us. In this episode, you will also learn… The importance of knowing our Gay History. As a Late Bloomer herself, Robin describes how little she knew about the Stonewall Riots that took place on June 27, 1969, and decided she wanted to learn more about her gay brothers and sisters who came before her. In this special episode, taped live at SXSW EDU in Austin, Texas in March, we discuss how schools are bullying young sexual assault accusers into waiving their rights during school investigations into what happened to them. Title IX is supposed to protect students who allege sexual assault, but some schools are requiring their silence, and threatening discipline if they don't comply. It runs afoul of the law, many experts say, and led attorney Laura Dunn and the non-profit Equal Rights Advocates to pen a letter to the U.S. Department of Education, trying to get the Biden Administration to stop this practice from continuing. Host: Sara Ganim. Guests: Laura Dunn, Kel O'Hara.
Politicians who had the opportunity to codify Roe v. Wade into law are now playing shock at the leaked Supreme Court decision. Meanwhile, Justice Alito is too scared to show his face in public. Ladies, March 15th is Equal Pay Day and we want you to know everything there is to know about getting every last penny you deserve. Today on It Sure is a Beautiful Day, Catt is in conversation with the Director of the Equal Pay Today Campaign, Shannon Williams, who is schooling us on why the gender wage gap exists, what we can do to shrink it, and how best to get involved in the effort to make a difference for yourself and all your female friends and loved ones. What is the best way to negotiate? Why is transparency on behalf of our employers so vitally important? Why does the wage gap specifically hinder women of color? Where do men fit into the conversation? How does our country's minimum wage compound the problem? We get gobs of great advice from our expert but we also hear from Catt about her own experience with this issue. You may recall she made global news after leaving her job at E! over a pay disparity issue. What she has learned from it all, how she reflects on it today, and why it's important for her to still make noise on the subject. Also, you asked, Catt answers. It can be difficult to navigate workplace issues effectively. She addresses some of your questions that you submitted from social media. Thank you for engaging in these important conversations, guys! Make sure to learn more about the Equal Pay Today Campaign and Equal Rights Advocates. There's a wealth of info on the website. In this special pro bono episode of MoFo Perspectives, we take a deep dive into two important cases MoFo is involved with regarding Title IX, the federal civil rights law prohibiting sex discrimination in federally funded educational programs or activities. Associate Caitlin Crujido, moderates this discussion, speaking with partner Natalie Fleming Nolen about her case challenging newer regulations set in place by the previous administration that rolled back certain protections under the law, and changed how schools respond to sexual harassment and sexual assault. Partner Christine Wong speaks about the amicus brief her team filed in support of a woman athlete who was unfairly punished by her school because of a rude gesture she made while celebrating a team victory. Senior counsel at Equal Rights Advocates, Brenda Adams, also joins this discussion to talk about how her organization is making strides when it comes to ensuring gender equity and protecting individuals from sexual harassment and violence in the workplace and in our schools.

Sarah is also the host of The Women’s Advocate podcast where she discusses how women can negotiate and support each other to close the wage gap. In this episode… When someone is looking to go into business or is considering taking up a new leadership position, most people tend to wait too long because they want to feel that they’re ready before taking the plunge. The thing is, there is never a “perfect time” to take that leap because all you really need is to have courage. In every situation or circumstance, there is always a decision to be made. And if that decision can be made quicker, it can help propel people forward to where they want and need to go. Staying focused on your story and your path are also crucial in making your success into a reality. It is also important to be focused and own your story and path. Sarah Nichols, Founder of Nichols Law P.C., is Andrea Heuston's guest in this week's episode of Lead Like a Woman, where she talks about the importance of women taking the leap in their careers and not waiting for the perfect time. Sarah shares details about her career history and why she decided to move to the US from Australia and start her own law firm, what drives her success, and she also shares her advice for women leaders and entrepreneurs. Stay tuned.

On this episode, our guest is Tammy Cho, co-founder of BetterBrave--an online site that combats sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation in the workplace by empowering targets and allies with the necessary resources and tools. BetterBrave offers options for women to report harassment and provides a clear outline of their rights. Users can also access BetterBrave's guide to learn steps to take before reporting an incident to HR and the importance of consulting an employment attorney as soon as possible to guide the response for optimal job protection. In our conversation with Tammy, we address the culture of sexual harassment in the workplace, the risks and harms from reporting harassment and discrimination, and the tools that BetterBrave offers employees to empower them to speak out while reducing the possibility of retaliation. We also speak with Tammy about how we, as individuals, can do more to nurture a workplace culture that incentivizes equal treatment, respect, and accountability.
