Source jingle: SkyeJordan - Slow Day (CC) Hébergé par Ausha. Welcome one and all! So glad you have joined us!This week's quiz: On 9 December I asked you a question about the opening ceremony for the Paris 2024 Olympic games. It's a security nightmare, but, as you read in our article "French sports minister says 'no plan B' for Olympics opening ceremony", there is no plan B, and the committee is committed to making it work. I asked you, as of 9 December and as written in our article, how many free tickets were planned to be given away, and how many paid tickets were planned to be sold. The answer is, to quote our article: “Authorities initially planned to offer 500,000 free tickets for the ceremony as well as 100,000 paid tickets closest to the action, creating a gargantuan event with a total of 600,000 ticket holders and one of the largest spectator events in human history.”That number has been walked back a bit: as of today, the number of paid tickets has not changed - it's still at 100,000, but for the free tickets, it's been moved down from 500,000 to 300,000.In addition to the quiz question, there was the bonus question, suggested by Khuki Jahanara Yesmin from Bogura, Bangladesh: “Who is your best friend, and why?”Do you have a bonus question idea? Send it to us! The winners are: Razia Khalid, a member of the RFI Seven Stars Radio Listeners Club in District Chiniot, Pakistan. Razia is also the winner of this week's bonus question. Congratulations, Razia! Also on the list of lucky winners this week are Ras Franz Manko Ngogo, the president of the Kemogemba RFI Club in Tarime, Mara, Tanzania, and Alok Bain, a member of the very active Pariwer Bandhu RFI SW Club in Chhattisgarh, India. A trailblazing figure in film and popular culture, Netherlands native Sylvia Kristel became one of the biggest stars in the world as Emmanuelle in 1974. Alongside her most famous role, directed by Just Jaeckin, a little-known fact is that Sylvia Kristel also appeared in over 20 films between 1973 and 1981 featuring exceptional work with some of the greatest directors in film history including Walerian Borowczyk, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Roger Vadim and Claude Chabrol. Now the story of Sylvia's astonishing career in the '70s is told in Sylvia Kristel: From Emmanuelle to Chabrol (Cult Epics, 2022). Featured are new interviews with Just Jaeckin, Pim de la Parra, Robert Fraisse, Joe Dallesandro and Francis Lai among others. Sylvia Kristel: From Emmanuelle to Chabrol is a film-by-film guide to one of the most distinctive and uncompromising careers in modern cinema, and a celebration of a most remarkable woman in a fully illustrated coffee-table book written by author Jeremy Richey. A recollection of Sylvia Kristel's most exciting period as an actress. Beginning with her early Dutch film roles in Frank & Eva, Because of the Cats, and Naked over the Fence, this book covers all 22 movies Sylvia starred in between 1973 and 1981 including the European films Emmanuelle, Julia, No Pockets in a Shroud, Playing with Fire, Emmanuelle II, Une Femme fidele, La Marge, Alice, Rene the Cane, Goodbye Emmanuelle, Pastorale 1943, Mysteries, Tigers in Lipstick, The Fifth Musketeer, Love in First Class, Lady Chatterley's Lover, and the American films The Concorde.... Airport '79, The Nude Bomb, Private Lessons, plus a chapter on the unmade films, dozens of iconic roles that she was offered but declined written with in-depth detail. Sylvia Kristel: From Emmanuelle to Chabrol also contains many vintage reviews and interviews with Sylvia Kristel never before translated into English, and takes a look at Sylvia's brief music recording career as well. Jeremy R. Richey is a film and music historian and writer originally from Kentucky.

She rose every day at dusk and rehearsed, performed, ate and drank until dawn. Then slept all day, woke up and began to create and unravel again as the sun went down. Nearly every song Edith Piaf sang came from a moment of her life on the streets of Paris. She would tell her composer and musician lovers a story, or describe a feeling or show them a gesture and they would put music and words to her pain and passion, giving her back her own musical autobiography. Charles Aznavour, Francis Lai, Georges Moustaki, Henri Contet, some of France's great musicians and writers recall their nights with Edith Piaf. The Nights of Edith Piaf was produced by The Kitchen Sisters with Don Drucker, mixed by Robin Wise for Soundprint in collaboration with Raquel Bitton, who hosts and translates the program.

00h o5'58" Come back Richard, your country needs you - Tim Rice 00h 08'54" Down thru summer - Ross Hannaman 00h 11'46" Goodbye Seattle - Paul Raven 00h 14'40" I’ll give all my love to Southend - Ross Hannaman 00h 16'36" Try it and see - Rita Pavone 00h 19'27" COMPONIENDO PARA CANTANTES DETERMINADOS 00h 20'05" A winter’s tale - David Essex 00h 24'13" Disillusion me - Gary Bond 00h 27'30" Magdalena - Tony Christie 00h 30'53" What a line to go out on - Yvonne Elliman 00h 34'21" Dance the dance - Connie Fisher 00h 38'24" It's easy for you - Elvis Presley 00h 41'48" ESCRIBIENDO PARA ELAINE PAIGE 00h 42'14" Falling down to Earth (Mike Batt) 00h 46'17" The last one to leave (Florrie Palmer) 00h 48'58" Hot as sun (Paul McCartney) 00h 52'10" The second time (Francis Lai) 00h 56'12" Missing (Vangelis) 00h 59'54" All things considered" (Vangelis) 01h 03'32" CANCIONES PARA EL CINE 01h 04'16" All time high (Octopussy) - Rita Coolidge 01h 07'10" A Christmas dream (Odessa) - Maynard Williams 01h 10'01" Finally (Gumshoe) - Pamela Paterson 01h 13'49" ELTON JOHN, FREDDIE MERCURY Y RICK WAKEMAN 01h 14'25" The falling priest - Freddie Mercury & Monserrat Caballé 01h 20'07" The Golden boy - Freddie Mercury & Monserrat Caballé 01h 26'06" Legal boys - Elton John 01h 29'10" Julia - Chaka Khan 01h 33'45" STARMANIA (TYCOON) 01h 34'12" Only the very best - Peter Kingsbery 01h 37'43" Ziggy - Celine Dion 01h 40'38" ALAN MENKEN Y DISNEY 01h 42'24" A whole new world - Brad Kane & Lea Salonga 01h 45'01" One jump ahead - Brad Kane 01h 47'21" Home - Susan Egan 01h 51'05" No matter what - Tom Bosley & Susan Egan 01h 54'08" If I can’t love her - Terrence Mann 01h 58'07" A change in me - Susan Egan 02h 01'51" How does a moment last forever - Celine Dion 02h 05'22" Evermore - Josh Groban 02h 08'27" WIZARD FROM OZ 02h 09'27" Already home - Danielle Hope 02h 12'44" Nobody understand me - Danielle Hope & Cast 02h 16'27" Red shoes blues - Hannah Waddingham 02h 18'35" Wonders of the world - Michael Crawford
