In this episode, I sit down with Taylor Eigsti, and this conversation goes everywhere I hoped it would. We talk about preparation versus spontaneity, writing music that leaves room for the present moment, and why the best ensembles feel more like carefully cast films than perfectly rehearsed machines.Taylor shares what it's been like working recently with Michael League, Ben Wendel, Kendrick Scott, Antonio Sánchez, and others, and we get deep into his compositional mindset—why quantity matters, why “bad ideas” are necessary, and how composition is a muscle that has to be exercised. We also talk about his Grammy-winning albums Tree Falls and Plot Armor, the long studio hours behind them, and why recognition doesn't always translate the way people expect.Along the way, we hit on collaboration, identity, touring life, teaching, football fandom, and what it really means to show up prepared and fully present for the moment that actually matters—the short window onstage when everything finally comes alive.Music from the Episode:Let You Bee (Taylor Eigsti)Bucket of F's (Taylor Eigsti)Look Around You (Taylor Eigsti)Thank you for listening. Support this podcasthttps://www.patreon.com/drumwithmikeandeddyIn episode 205, Eddy and I chat about our experiences with private lessons, both as students and as teachers. We discuss the importance of teaching drums not as a means to showcase what students can'tt do, but rather to identify and address the barriers preventing them from achieving their drumming goals. We throw a tad bit of shade at the rare instance when teachers try to establish dominance by showcasing their skills, and instead advocate for a more empowering approach that focuses on student needs and growth. Basically, don't be a jerk. LOL. We hope you enjoy this episode!Mike & EddySupport the show

Get a private, on-screen walkthrough of Google's new Gemini 3.0 with Logan Kilpatrick. We vibe-code full apps, games, and product UIs in real time. You'll see how to go from raw idea to working product in a single prompt, then iterate visually with design, features, and AI workflows. They turn an IdeaBrowser concept into a live talent-matching platform, screenshot-clone the IdeaBrowser UI, wire up a “generate tomorrow's idea” feature grounded in Google Search, and even add co-founder matching on top. If you're building with AI or still on the fence, this episode shows what's now possible with Gemini 3.0 Pro in AI Studio. Timestamps 00:00 – Intro 01:00 – What Gemini 3 is and where it lives (Gemini app, AI Studio, API) 03:03 – Vibe Coding 3D games 09:27 – Vibe Coding an idea from IdeaBrowser 25:02 – Screenshot-cloning the IdeaBrowser UI and regenerating it in Gemini Key Points Gemini 3.0 Pro in AI Studio lets you “vibe code” full apps—UI, logic, and AI features—from natural-language prompts, then iteratively refine them. Games and complex simulations are a stress-test and showcase for the model's capabilities, not just toys. You can paste an entire business idea (like IdeaBrowser's generational talent-matching concept) into AI Studio and get a working, multi-screen product with AI-powered workflows. Gemini 3.0 Pro is free to use inside AI Studio up to generous limits, and the API is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens under 200K input tokens. Screenshot-driven UI cloning plus “add five more features” prompts are powerful loops for product and UX ideation. You can layer social features like co-founder matching directly on top of idea-discovery products with only a few additional prompts. There's one question I get asked at least once a week, both from riders I coach in person and those I help online. Somehow, I've never answered it on the podcast until now! “Should I have lessons? And if so, what kind; private or group?” Some riders even ask if they can skip lessons altogether and just ride solo. In this episode, I'm breaking down the pros and cons of private lessons, group lessons, and going it alone, plus when each one makes the biggest difference in your riding journey.

It's not the logo, the schedule, or even the space — it's the teachers and the point of view that your studio holds. In this special “podcast buddy” episode, I sit down with Francesca Cervero, host of The Mentor Sessions Podcast and long-time private yoga teacher and mentor. Francesca has been teaching yoga full-time for over 20 years, runs a teacher training called The Science of the Private Lesson, and mentors yoga teachers to develop a strong, authentic teaching voice.Together, we explore the evolving yoga industry, the role of studio owners in elevating their teachers, and why having a clear point of view is more powerful (and sustainable) than trying to be everything to everyone. What you'll hear in this episode:• How yoga studios have shifted from community-led to franchise-driven — and back again• Why teachers fresh out of training aren't always ready for studio life (and how to mentor them well)• The difference between “niching down” and developing a true teaching point of view• Why your yoga studio is only as strong as the teachers who represent it• How community studios today can compete with franchise-level tools• Real talk about industry changes, competition, and what makes studios sustainable in 2025 and beyondLinks & Resources:Connect with Francesca → francescacervero.comListen to The Mentor Sessions Podcast with FrancescaBook a free strategy call with me → yogabizchamp.link/bookBook a complimentary 45 minute strategy session with the sales arms with my link https://www.thesalesarms.com/yogabizchamp Get 50% off your first three months of Offering Tree, OR 15% off an entire year with my Exclusive Discount Link Offeringtree.com/yogabizchamppodcast. When the leaves start to fall, and the summer temperatures goes down, you know what that means: #Sextember! Three years in to exploring the sexploitation movies released by New World Pictures, we start #Sextember 3: Ménage a Trois with 1984's THEY'RE PLAYING WITH FIRE. Starring Sybil Danning (BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS) as a college professor who seduces her student (Eric Brown, PRIVATE LESSONS, Mama's Family), but is she doing so just for the awkward sex or does she have other dubious plans with her husband (Andrew Prine, THE EVIL, GRIZZLY)? If you answered "yes," you'd be right, because this film doesn't just feature a teacher/student relationship but also murder, a mysterious killer, and many lives being wrapped up in the ongoing entertainment and beer specials at Campus Pub! The was directed by Howard Avedis, who directed the similarly-plotted movie THE TEACHER in 1974, which we discuss along with the complexities of owning a yacht and all the shellacking that is involved, the lack of locations involved in the movie, and the giallo vibes the movie gives, including an unusual voice of the killer! Also: what makes a handyman? Do you have to be smart to be a professor? And what's the place to feed your dog? THEY'RE PLAYING WITH FIRE has a place you've maybe never thought about! Enjoy the theme song, which this film has because most movies of the 1980s did, and is a sure-fire contender for a Worldie later this year! Should we record the Worldies at a Campus Pub? We'd be fools not to! Listen as we start #Sextember 3 in style, at least until Mom and Grandma kick us out! I started teaching one private yoga client virtually in 2019 when she left Washington, DC for California. But other than her I had absolutely NO experience teaching online when everything changed on March 13th, 2020. I was slightly ahead of the curve in understanding that the pandemic would be a life alternating experience and that we wouldn't be teaching yoga in-person for many many months. I made really quick work of getting all my in-person private students on board to pivot to virtual private lessons and by Monday March 16th I had everyone set up for the virtual lessons in their normal standing scheduled spot. I did not miss a single day of work, or single private lesson in that transition and that is something I am really proud of. Then, at the beginning of 2022 I moved to a new area and had a baby. I kept all my clients virtual through that transition and 95% of my teaching is still virtual. And I LOVE it. Today on the podcast I'm making the case for virtual private lessons! I'll tell you: why AND how to find virtual private clients why they are great for your students how they can help support your business who they are a good fit for (both student and teacher) how to get started in offering virtual private lessons Resources mentioned in the episode: 3 Steps to Teach Better Private Lessons Video Series two effective strategies for booking private clients TEMPLATES The Science of the Private Lesson online course Discounted mentoring sessions Camera set up This episode is brought to you by OfferingTree, an easy-to-use, all-in-one online platform for yoga teachers that provides a personal website, booking, payment, blogging, and many other great features. I've been teaching yoga full time for 20 years, and most of that time I taught at least 15 private yoga sessions each week; for a decade that number was closer to 25 per week! I have a lot of experience in teaching private sessions! And when you've been doing something that often for that long, you start to develop some specific opinions... or, I certainly did! Today we are diving into some unexpected hot takes about teaching private clients! In this episode, you'll hear: why seeing a student multiple times a week is not great for business how encouraging commitment is beneficial for your student AND your business why every student should feel like a “difficult” student Resources mentioned in this episode: 3 Steps to Teach Better Private Lessons Video Series two effective strategies for booking private clients TEMPLATES The Science of the Private Lesson online course

Skynet AI 2029: James Cameron's The Terminator If you grew up in the 1980s, you were living in a decade that would be controlled by raunchy teen sex comedies (Porky's, My Tutor, Private Lessons), John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off), and the emergence of straight to video. However there was one genre that stood above all others and would forever alter the output of Hollywood. Action films had always been a part of Hollywood, however the 1980s would unleash the talents of Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis, as well as lesser box office talents such as Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, and the continuing presence of 70s holdover, Chuck Norris. One name would stand above all others, however. Inhabiting the title role of the 1984 B-Movie, Low-Budget Classic, The Terminator, Director James Cameron would establish Austrian-born, seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger, as - possibly - the greatest Action-Star to ever grace the Big Screen. The Terminator would change cinema and introduce both actor and director as formidable and genre defining talents. This week Mr. Chavez & I dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence and discuss one of the greatest Science Fiction films ever made. What are the lessons we should have learned from Cameron's film? What did we miss? How far away are we from Skynet becoming self-aware? There's a whole lot to unpack and we're diving right into all of it. This was an exciting and wonderfully joyous trip back to the 80s and a film that greatly defined both our youths, the decade, and the evolving world of Cinema. In Episode 16 of Multi-Verse, poet Devon Walker-Figueroa reads “Private Lessons,” in which a dying man determines that his young pupil must become a prima ballerina, and chats with host Evangeline Riddiford Graham about the uses of silence, breaking Dante's rhyme scheme, and what it means to be haunted by lessons long since over. What use?” her dancer wonders, “in maligning his methods now?” This is not your grandfather's ghost story. “Private Lessons” can be found in Walker-Figueroa's collection Philomath (Milkweed Editions, 2021).

Would you like to go on?Will Bangura M.S. CBCC-KA (00:38.106)Good day dog lovers. I'm Will Van Gura. Thanks for joining me for another episode of dog training today. We really appreciate you. We love all your support. Today I want to talk about different dog training options. You know, whether it be you needing or wanting to train a young puppy or you training an older dog, there are different options. You know, some of the most common options are sending your dog away.for training, what a lot of people call board and train or doggy bootcamp, having private lessons or going to a group class. So I just want to talk a little bit about the pros and cons of all of those. Now, the first thing that I want to say is that I believe, especially, especially when you're starting brand new training with a dog that knows little to nothing, that getting private one -on -one trainingthe best option for every dog and for every pet parent. if you've got a dog that has problems in the home, nuisance behaviors like potty training issues, jumping, barking, digging, being destructive, again, having private lessons is great. Now, if you've got a lot of those nuisance behaviors at your home, private lessons are best done there, at your home.and not done at the trainer's facility if they have one or meeting them in a park. Now I'm not saying that that's a bad way to go. Again, private one -on -one training I think is the best thing because you the pet parent get the undivided attention of that trainer without them having to divide their attention with other pet parents, with other dogs. And that leads me into group training classes.because a lot of people want to opt for group training classes because in many cases they're more affordable than private one -on -one training and group classes Support the Show.If you need professional help please visit my Dog Behaviorist website.Go here for Free Dog Training Articles

"A lot of yoga teachers do not share that private sessions are something they offer." "Really the first year of working with a new private student, it's about building your relationship with them and it's about building trust." "Part of yoga as a practice is noticing what comes up when we are distracted and then what do we need to do to come back." "In terms of what we're teaching, you can truly make a yoga practice that serves that student that day in the body and the mind they are showing up with that day."
