Un homme et son chien. Un gros Briard noir frisé dont les poils hirsutes cachent le regard bravement couché au pied de la chaise de son maître assis à la terrasse d'une buvette parisienne. L'homme porte le costume cravate et chapeau classique comme tout le monde après-guerre mais il se tient légèrement avachi face à son verre de guignolet, la clope au bec et le regard dans le vide. On devine que son esprit est perdu dans une probable inspiration, assemblant des phrases et des rimes puisque l'homme en question se nomme Jacques Prévert, immédiatement reconnaissable, il est le poète le plus connu de sa génération.Dialoguiste d'une vingtaine de classiques du cinéma des Enfants du Paradis aux Visiteurs du soir, en passant par Quai des brumes et Drôle de drame… (bizarre, bizarre), Prévert a été chanté avec succès par son ami Yves Montand, Les feuilles mortes, et puis par Juliette Gréco, Serge Reggiani, et même Serge Gainsbourg qui lui rend hommage dans un superbe titre … Un Prévert qui à Paris, a longtemps préféré vivre à l'hôtel ou dans des meublés. Et quand il s'installe enfin dans un appartement, c'est derrière le Moulin Rouge, dans une rue en cul-de-sac, avec pour voisin de pallier, Boris Vian …L'homme qui prend cette photo sous les platanes d'un trottoir parisien, c'est bien évidemment Robert Doisneau. Prévert et lui se sont rencontrés grâce à son frère Pierre qui bosse dans un cabaret. Prévert et Doisneau se sont très vite trouvés. Je devrais dire, reconnus car ils partagent l'amour des petites gens : tu dois mettre dans le rectangle les laissés pour compte envoyés par le hasard pour en faire un bouquet, dit le poète au photographe. L'exposition de photos montées sur des planches dans ledit cabaret est un succès éclair puisque l'acteur Anthony Quinn, star d'Hollywood, Zorba le Grec et Quasimodo de Notre-Dame de Paris, achète toutes les photos. Il avait raison, Prévert. C'est autrement plus passionnant et enrichissant de cadrer les gens du peuple dans leur quotidien que d'aller photographier les têtes couronnées pour une couverture de magazine ou la nouvelle Renault pour une pub. Alors quand son ami Prévert, dont l'âme poétique accorde une importance particulière au nom des rues, l'appelle pour lui dire : Tu sais qu'il existe une rue des cinq diamants ? Viens, on va la photographier. Il est fréquent pour les Parisiens de croiser Prévert et Doisneau, dans l'improbable rue du Pont-aux-biches, comment auraient-ils pu louper ça, ou en train de flâner rue du Dessous-des-Berges ou encore au Passage de la Main d'Or. On ne croit donc pas au hasard de cette photo mythique de Prévert à la terrasse de La buvette du pont, sous les platanes, avec des tractions sur la rue en arrière-plan, les deux amis se complétaient à merveille, l'un faisait danser les mots, l'autre donnait une vie rêvée aux images.

Ein absoluter Selbstmordtrip, da kleinste Erschütterungen zur Explosion führen können... Es handelt sich um LOHN DER ANGST mit Yves Montand in der Hauptrolle. We also discuss Pierre Schoeller's psychological thriller "Rembrandt" and reflect on the complexities at the centre of the troubled relationship between Yves Montand and Simone Signoret, as the actress and singer's lives are examined by Diane Kurys in "C'est Si Bon". And Manon flags up a Maurice Pialat retrospective at the Cinémathèque Française that provides an insight into the iconoclastic French filmmaker.

Jacques Prévert fue un destacado poeta, guionista y dramaturgo francés del siglo XX, conocido por su estilo accesible y su compromiso social. Nació el 4 de febrero de 1900 en Neuilly-sur-Seine, Francia, y falleció el 11 de abril de 1977 en Omonville-la-Petite. Tras servir en el ejército durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, Prévert se integró en los círculos surrealistas de París en la década de 1920, formando parte del grupo de la Rue du Château junto a figuras como Raymond Queneau y Marcel Duhamel . Aunque se distanció del surrealismo ortodoxo, mantuvo elementos de su estética en su obra. En los años 30, participó activamente en el Grupo Octubre, una compañía de teatro comprometida con causas sociales y políticas. Su primer libro de poemas, Paroles (1946), fue un éxito rotundo y lo consolidó como uno de los poetas más leídos de Francia . Sus poemas, caracterizados por un lenguaje sencillo y coloquial, a menudo abordan temas de amor, libertad y crítica social. Entre sus poemas más conocidos se encuentran "Déjeuner du matin" y "Le Cancre", este último ampliamente estudiado en las escuelas francesas. Prévert también dejó una huella significativa en el cine francés, colaborando con el director Marcel Carné en películas emblemáticas como Les Enfants du paradis (1945), considerada una de las mejores películas francesas de todos los tiempos . Sus guiones se caracterizan por un realismo poético que combina elementos líricos con una representación crítica de la sociedad. La casa donde vivió sus últimos años en Omonville-la-Petite se ha convertido en un museo dedicado a su vida y obra, abierto al público desde 1995 . Además, su poema "Les Feuilles Mortes", musicalizado por Joseph Kosma, se ha convertido en una canción clásica interpretada por artistas como Yves Montand y Édith Piaf. acques Prévert es recordado como un poeta del pueblo, cuya obra sigue siendo relevante por su humanidad y compromiso con la justicia social.

Given the results of the US elections, we thought it would be a good idea to look at a great work of art to help with context and see how filmmakers can play a role in confronting state repression. It's a film we should have discussed at some point over the last four years: Costa-Gavras's political thriller Z (1969).  To state the obvious, this depiction of government conspiracies, assassination attempts, rising authoritarianism, the deep state, and a sprawling cover-up feels quite prescient. However, unlike your favorite YouTube channel, we discuss what the deep state actually is and how the true definition of corporatism is used in this film (and in real life). Our discussion wouldn't be complete without Yves Montand's magnetic performance in this film and in the recording booth. Montand's illustrious career was at its peak as both actor and singer when he starred in this certified masterpiece of leftist cinema. Bella Ciao!
