Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Compère Richard Cracknell, Broadcaster/Presenter Marcus Buckland and Marlon via Spurs Kings TV as Jorgen Strand Larsen's late equaliser continued Vitor Pereira's impressive start as Wolves boss after a chaotic Premier League draw with Tottenham. Wolves took an early lead when the unmarked Hwang Hee-chan swept the ball low into the corner from the edge of the box after the Spurs defence had switched off at a free-kick. Spurs equalised shortly afterwards thanks to Rodrigo Bentancur, who glanced a powerful close-range header beyond Jose Sa from Pedro Porro's corner. Tottenham were awarded a penalty when Andre brought down the fleet-footed Brennan Johnson only for Sa to guess correctly and deny Son Heung-min. It did not stymie Spurs' attacking intent and a neat interchange between Dejan Kulusevski and Johnson inside a crowded area culminated in the latter firing home a low shot.Wolves were content to hang in the contest and levelled with three minutes of normal time remaining when substitute Strand Larsen beat Fraser Forster at his near post with a rasping angled shot. Spurs piled on the pressure during 12 minutes of added time but were unable to contrive a winner and finish December with just five points from a possible 21. What a week it's been for Fraser Forster. First there was Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, which Tottenham won. Then there was Liverpool in the Premier League, which Tottenham resoundingly lost. The understudy to Guglielmo Vicario has been called out for his lack of ability when playing out, raising suspicions Spurs might enter the market in January with Vicario not back until mid-February. We run the rule over his two performances, plus that of Danny Ward, Jordan Pickford and Emi Martinez - the latter being crowned the FIFA Best Men's Goalkeeper for the second time in three years. Merry Christmas!
Man United and Tottenham handed out an early Christmas present of delicious Carabao last night. A special mention goes to Fraser Forster for doing his best Pete Donaldson impression…Pete's joined by Luke and Jim to learn Jamie Vardy's latest technique in sh*thousery. The night started slowly in north London, but those who exercised patience reaped the rewards. Tottenham were 3-0 up against Manchester United, all but set for the Carabao Cup semi finals, when Fraser Forster decided to make the game a little more interesting with two terrible errors. Jay Harris has the story of the rest of the night. In Europe the Conference League league stage concluded. Chelsea were unsurprisingly top but there was still some fun to be had. Lucy Oliva was at Stamford Bridge to watch the Blues walk to their sixth victory of the campaign so far. And Everton's takeover by The Freidkin Group finally went through. There is a new hope on the horizon on Merseyside. Paddy Boyland has all the details. Christmas reading here Host: Abi Paterson Producer: Tom Fuller Learn more about your ad choices. Panelet vender den formidable 5-0-sejr over Southampton, der kostede deres træner jobbet. COYS
Here we go again...
The Premier League has given us some midweek fixtures this week, so of course we thought we'd treat you to two Football Fill-In 's in one week! Kicking the show off today, we had to start with Arsenal vs Manchester United. Arsenal looked very dominant from those set pieces and we had our expert, Dave Watson dive in, to give his analysis on how good they actually are… Moving up north to Newcastle, they faced Liverpool in a frantic 3-3 draw, we looked at how good Salah was, that Isak goal, and should have Kelleher caught that ball for that Newcastle equaliser? Chelsea won 5-1 to Southampton and they looked very dominant, a few clumsy mistakes from the Southampton team which lead them to getting a red card, to make it a walk in the park for Chelsea. Manchester City are BACK to winning ways too, in a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, but is the problem solved in Manchester? Sean Dyche's Everton beat Wolves in a convincing 4-0 win, in a game where both managers are under pressure, will Gary O'Neil get the sack? Moving onto Aston Villa, they beat Brentford 3-1 with Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers being the standout performers. Will Brentford and Thomas Frank get round to improving this away record? Ruud Van Nistlerooy took his first game in charge for Leicester City and they looked great, beating West Ham 3-1 at home, which now mounts the pressure on Julen Lopetegui and his time at West Ham. Our final game is Ipswich vs Crystal Palace where Mateta strikes it home to win 1-0 and there's now questions on whether Ipswich will slowly fade into that relegation zone as that gap increases. Marcus Buckland and Tom Barclay of The Sun pick the bones out of Spurs' underwhelming draw at home to Fulham. The team's inconsistency, Fraser Forster's saves, Son Heung-min's off-key day and Ange Postecoglou's injury complaints all come under the microscope.
Marcus Buckland and Tom Barclay of The Sun reflect on Spurs' 2-2 draw with Roma in the Europa League and look ahead to the Premier League clash with Fulham, focusing on Fraser Forster, Dejan Kulusevski and Ange Postecoglou's entertainment comments.
Host Ricky Sacks was joined by returning regular guests Lee McQueen, Richard Cracknell and Jason McGovern as the panel react to the news of Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has undergone surgery after suffering a fractured ankle during the 4-0 victory at Manchester City on Saturday, the club has announced. Vicario completed the full 90 minutes of the game at the Etihad, but the club have revealed he suffered the injury during the match. The 28-year-old underwent treatment late in the first half and re-emerged limping after half-time, although he went on to make three second-half saves. Vicario is yet to miss a single minute of Premier League football since joining from Empoli last summer, playing all of their 38 games last season and each of the 12 league matches so far in 2024/25. Fraser Forster, who made 14 Premier League appearances for the club in his debut season in 2022/23, will be most likely to stand in for Vicario in his absence, having been on the bench for 11 of their 12 league matches so far this term. It appears there may have been something in the goalkeeping water this weekend. From Nick Pope not giving away a penalty to forward roll fights and Harry Lewis nonchalantly catching a ball over the top a good ten yards outside of his area, the global glovesmen game veered a little left field. And that's what we love, of course. Because it gives us plenty to talk about, in addition to the customary analysis of super saves from the likes of Emi Martinez, Fraser Forster and Gavin Bazunu - the latter keeping a clean sheet at Old Trafford in what could be a vital point for Southampton come May. Elsewhere, Jak Alnwick made it successive Saturdays for Cardiff 'keepers to see red, while Christian Walton broke a club record at Ipswich by going six games without conceding. --- If you like what we do, please consider leaving a review on iTunes. Much and always appreciated. Goalkeeping puns encouraged.

Sorry we're a bit late! The bumper Easter show we had lined up last week has been half-slotted into this week's effort, but the action is mainly from the weekend where Nick Pope's recent run of form is keeping Burnley's survival hopes alive. We discuss how the landscape is looking for England with Pope, Fraser Forster and Aaron Ramsdale all dividing opinion on whether they can challenge Jordan Pickford for that No1 spot. Teams of the Week were announced across the EFL last night, so huge congrats must go Lee Nicholls, Michael Cooper and Jojo Wollacott. There were so many outstanding candidates, but the three are fully deserving of their award. And a big week lies ahead for West Ham. Should Lukasz Fabianski be selected over Alphonse Areola? A recent article from journalist Martin Samuel sees the show finish on the art of goalkeeper rotation.
In this week's episode, we discuss the FA Cup semis. No treble for City thanks to Liverpool / Chelsea W vs crystal palace. Another Chelsea - Liverpool final? Do the Blues have a chance this time? Fraser Forster robbed Gunners (literally crying for a striker), Spurs no-show vs Brighton, and CR7 saves United against Norwich but the Red Devils gets embarrassed at Anfield. Rangicks United comments. United needs a "complete revolution". Who's leaving in the summer ? What to expect from Ten Haag? Question of the week: Does pep have it in him to become the best coach of all-time surpassing Fergie?
Another loss on the road as we can't find the back of the net against a Southampton side we really needed to beat. After Brighton beating Spurs, the race was back on but Fraser Forster had other ideas. Connor joins us to discuss all things Arsenal and hit the panic button as we head into Chelsea… enjoy! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This week no one still wants 4th as Spurs are Spurs and Fraser Forster has his one game a season to deny arsenal, European cup football had an all time week, Ronaldo is back to stat padding, we get the dodgy sequel to the greatest game of all time, Palace are a nothing team without a Chelsea loanee and we say goodbye to a Premier League legend as Burnley sack Sean Dyche.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/under-the-floodlights/donations
Tom Canton is joined by Bailey Keogh and Chris Davison to discuss the big Arsenal talking points, including reaction to Arsenal failing to take the opportunity to close the top-four gap as Jan Bednarek's first-half goal plus an inspired display from goalkeeper Fraser Forster gave Southampton a 1-0 victory over the Gunners. Plus, Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he is in discussions with multiple clubs over a transfer this summer with the Frenchman underlining his intention to play Champions League football. Enjoy.

Ray and Tim welcome back the one and only Moscow Mush Kevin Milverton to talk about Fraser Forster's heroic performance in guiding us to an unlikely victory over Arsenal. The three discuss the keeper situation moving forward with the contracts expiring in the ITN News along with Saints Women taking top spot in National League South and preparing for a South Coast Derby. Tim is on hand to give us the lowdown on next week's schedule as we hit the road to Burnley and Brighton. Don't forget to join our Fantasy Football, Super 6 and predictor leagues:
Yet again another incidental weekend of goalkeeping action across England's four tiers. No fewer than seven replacements had to be drafted in across the EFL due to either a pre-match injury, in-game injury or red card. It meant rare league appearances for Jacks Walton and Rose, plus a professional debut for QPR's Murphy Cooper. In the Premier League, Fraser Forster had one of those days where you actually play as well as you can but still concede six goals, while Hugo Lloris was labelled "Superman" by teammate Heung-Min Son. Elsewhere, we discuss what the future holds for Jordan Pickford should Everton be relegated, a crop of 'Keeper Capers from across the globe and a top Text Talk delivered by Northampton's Liam Roberts.
Continuing the theme theme of recent episodes, we take a look at how the luck of a goalkeeper can vary when parrying efforts on goal. Some, as we saw with Alisson and David Raya at the weekend, mount counterattacks from which teams take the lead. Others, as we saw with Kasper Schmeichel and Fraser Forster, can fall to opposition players and result in goals conceded. Commentary Corner is back with David Ginola taking centre stage, Jose Sa continues to stake a claim for a spot in Portugal's World Cup squad and David de Gea produced another one of those match-saving saves for Manchester United. In the EFL, Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper admitted he now has a goalkeeping conundrum on his hands after Brice Samba returned as No1 in place of Ethan Horvath, while Plymouth's Michael Cooper was lauded as League One's best stopper by Oxford manager, Karl Robinson.
