Apologies for the slight delay this week. Travel arrangements (read: Rich on a plane) meant we had to hold off until Wednesday for a full rundown of the final weekend of league action, but hopefully a dose of standard goalkeeping goodness will make up for it. Rather than delve into each Premier League game, we've instead opted to run through the goalkeeping landscape for each of this season's 20 clubs, analysing who may be in and out come the beginning of next term. There's also a glance at the three EFL Playoff Finals. Ethan Horvath and Tomas Holy were on the winning side of two tense shootouts for Luton and Carlisle respectively, while Cam Dawson bagged a second promotion in as many seasons.

For the final analysis-based Between the sticks of the season, we focus on an epic, record-breaking Champions League Final performance from Thibaut Courtois. The Real Madrid stopper has asked for respect to be put on his name, and it's certainly fair to say he thoroughly deserves it. Congrats go to Brice Samba, Ethan Horvath and Aidan Stone for playing their part in Nottingham Forest and Port Vale going up via the Wembley route respectively, plus a quick shout out to Rio Patricio for Roma's Europa Conference triumph. Lastly, a doff of the goalkeeping cap to Lee Grant. A friend of GKU and an all round top gent, Granty has called time on his playing career after four solid years as a backup – and integral goalkeeping cog – at Manchester United. A coaching role at Ipswich beckons. They're lucky to have him.
Continuing the theme theme of recent episodes, we take a look at how the luck of a goalkeeper can vary when parrying efforts on goal. Some, as we saw with Alisson and David Raya at the weekend, mount counterattacks from which teams take the lead. Others, as we saw with Kasper Schmeichel and Fraser Forster, can fall to opposition players and result in goals conceded. Commentary Corner is back with David Ginola taking centre stage, Jose Sa continues to stake a claim for a spot in Portugal's World Cup squad and David de Gea produced another one of those match-saving saves for Manchester United. In the EFL, Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper admitted he now has a goalkeeping conundrum on his hands after Brice Samba returned as No1 in place of Ethan Horvath, while Plymouth's Michael Cooper was lauded as League One's best stopper by Oxford manager, Karl Robinson.

The USMNT roster is here for World Cup qualifying, and it's time to react to it on Episode 62. The roster was released this morning, and we go through it to highlight who Gregg Berhalter called in and who was not included. There were several players who were included on this roster that did not make it in the September window: Paul Arriola, Tim Weah, Gyasi Zardes, Luca de la Torre, Matthew Hoppe, Shaq Moore, Yunus Musah, Chris Richards, and Gianluca Busio. While Gio Reyna and Christian Pulisic were not included due to injury, Jordan Pefok, Josh Sargent, Ethan Horvath, and Konrad de la Fuente were also left off the roster. There are also others who were not on either roster that fans may think should have been brought into camp. We discuss it all briefly on this episode. We close out this episode with a personal tribute to Martin Huschka, an inspirational young boy in the American soccer family who passed away late last week due to complications from a neurodegenerative disorder that was so rare, there have been only 14 cases worldwide. I tell the story of Martin's journey, what he meant to me and why he is the strongest boy that I've ever met. Martin is going to be missed by so many, but the joy that he shared is something that will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to meet him or be inspired through his story. If you are so inclined to also pay tribute to Martin's memory, his family requests that you make a donation to Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit, Angela Hospice, or Rainbow Connection.
