In other words, he has a unique, insider perspective on what it really takes to work with and raise capital from High-Net-Worth investors and Family Offices. Here's a sample of what we discuss: ·        The true definition… and what actually constitutes a “Family Office”.   ·        Want to raise a boatload of capital?  Here's what Family Offices are truly motivated by…   ·        Adams tried-and-true, T.E.R.M. method for raising capital from Family Offices   ·        Where Family Offices and High-Net-Worth investors hang out (Proximity is Power!)   ·        The 3 main things Family Offices look for in a potential investment.   We also talk about the critical importance of cash flow management and controls, and discuss things like:   ·        How to set the right financial foundation so you can grow & scale your real estate investing enterprise.   ·        The sexy side of accounting and finance (yes… finances can be sexy!).   ·        The power of a story (and how accounting can provide it for you), and how this can be the ultimate “needle mover”.   ·        If you don't want to be “King”, being a “Kingmaker” (which is how Adam sees his role in the accounting/finance/compliance chair) can be just as fun and just as gratifying.  Here's why…   ·        Much, much more!   More about Adam W. Campbell: Adam Campbell was a founding employee for 7 real estate funds in Salt Lake City, UT that managed over $5 Billion of AUM in total.  He has played key roles in scaling accounting & finance departments from the ground up in privately held and VC/PE backed operating companies in transportation, waste management, hospitality, industrial mining, event management, healthcare, education and new venture finance industries. E 156. Retriever training: How pros collar condition a dog

Today's episode is devoted to properly collar conditioning your dog. Using an e collar is controversial and some trainers use them, some trainers do not, some people think their dog is "too soft" for them and some dogs (most dogs when used properly) jump up and down in excitement when the collar comes out. Because of this confusion, we decided to create the most in depth episode to teach anyone and everyone to be confident and educated enough to collar condition their own dog. In this show, we call several professionals to hear their specific routine for collar conditioning protection dogs, pet dogs and hunting dogs. We hear from Blaine Tarnecki from Hudson River Retrievers and The Brown Dog Academy, Adam Campbell from Campbell's Hillside Kennels and the Doghouse Podcast, Oscar Mora from Elevated Canine and then Bob finishes the show by explaining his process. Listen to this show and if you have questions, please reach out to anyone who chimed in on this episode (links to contact them are above ^^) If you'd like to properly force fetch your dog or want more Lone Duck action, then check out our patreon here and you can meet us for some beers and talkin' dogs. In this episode, we sit down with Adam Campbell. Adam is a man in motion…a man who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of athletics and movement in the mountains. Adams's deep athletic base and hard work ethic have made him one of the best mountain runners on the planet. Adams' athletic life came to a crashing halt after barely surviving a 300 ft. fall while climbing the Horseshoe Traverse in British Columbia. Defying logic and his numerous critical injuries, Adam recovered and completed the Hard Rock 100 within a year of his initial injury. A feat hard to fathom or even believe is humanly possible. Adams' story took another turn for the worse in 2020 when he had to unbury his wife from a fatal avalanche. Needless to say, Adam has lived through a full spectrum of experiences in the mountains… experiences that have tested his understanding of life, love, and what it means to be a mountain athlete. Adam has always spoken genuinely about his experiences in the mountains and he does so in our conversation. This episode provides a deep dive into the realities of the power that mountains carry. They give us life, energy, purpose, and meaning..but sometimes they take everything from us…

Adam Campbell is a professional mountain athlete for Arcteryx, with podium finishes at the Hardrock 100, CCC 100K, Ultra Trail Mount Fuji and the Squamish 50. He now calls the Canadian Rockies home and has also competed for the Canadian National Skimo Team. We also discuss Adam's background: from growing up in Nigeria to racing as a professional triathlete in a bid to make the Canadian Olympic Team. We talk about Adam's development as a trail runner and his changing relationship to the sport after a severe accident in 2016 while attempting the Horseshoe Traverse. Adam is also incredibly vulnerable in talking about his journey with grief after facing the tragic loss of his wife, Laura Kosakoski, in an avalanche in 2020. Adam has faced more adversity in the mountains than most will in a lifetime, but he has continued to use his platform to help others navigate grief and mental illness.

On January 10th,  2020 Adam Campbell and his wife, Laura Kosakoski were skiing with their friend Kevin in the Mount Hector area of Banff National Park. Laura skied first, Kevin followed, as Adam approached the slope, he triggered a size 2.5 avalanche that pushed Laura into a terrain trap and buried her with over 12 feet of snow. Although Adam and Kevin were able to get to her, she never regained consciousness. She passed away from her injuries the next day. Adam has had to live with the grief and trauma of triggering the slide and losing his wife ever since. It is always a good time when we can kick back with our buddy, Barton Ramsey, from Southern Oak Kennels. He's been on our show before and we always have a great discussion about training, family, dogs, breeding and life. Barton is one of those people you spend time with and later you think man, I wish we hung out more. Tonight's conversation was absolutely incredible and you won't want to miss it. We talk about a million topics like: what to look for when breeding dogs, Barton's new dog, moose and his background and how cool he is. We chat about when our buddy, Adam Campbell, went out for a training day with the SOK crew, so we hear about the training day and their set up. Then, we dig into a good conversation about training blind retrieves and fueling the dog rather than stifling their confidence, place training like a pro & how Barton corrects a dog who is creeping.
