Mind Over Matter: Navigating Neurodiversity in Faith and Life (Episode 148) In this 'thought-provoking' episode, I'm joined by Barbara Grant who brings over 65 years of cumulative life experience with the neurodiverse mind through her relationships—both in marriages and with family members. Her insights are invaluable as we dive deep into the world of neurodiversity, unpacking what it means to be neurodivergent and the rich tapestry of minds that fall under this umbrella. From the creative thinker who sees the world through a unique lens to those facing everyday challenges, we'll explore various types of neurodivergent experiences, including dyslexia (I will share my personal journey) and ADHD. Together, we'll shine a light on how these diverse minds approach creative thinking, addiction, and recovery. As we navigate the challenges and strengths inherent in neurodivergent brains, we'll also discuss how the church can play a vital role in embracing and supporting these individuals. Join us for a fun, heartfelt, and informative discussion filled with insights, stories, and practical tips on how to foster understanding and acceptance within our communities! Barbara has more than 25 years of experience in faith-based coaching, mentoring, and counseling and is a trained Biblical counselor with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She was featured in the book Uniquely Us, which explores the complicated connection between Autism, Marriage, and Faith and provides a path forward for the neurodiverse couples.

Today I'm answering a listener question: How do you know when you're done? It seems straightforward on the surface—you're done when the essay is published, when the book comes out, or when the workshop is over. But not every writing project has defined edges. In fact, this episode argues that when we're wondering if we're done with something, we're actually asking the wrong question. Conversation Starters “When something is finished, it might mean something is true. It could mean someone will read your words. It means you now need to relate to this part of your life differently. You need to tell a new story about what happened to yourself. None of these things are bad, but when we're habituated to the old narratives, change is always hard.” Episode Highlights Understanding completion as a phased experience Questions to ask yourself to gauge where you are in the process Examples of finishing—from blogging to Facebook groups The advice MFK Fisher gave Ruth Reichel that changed the course of her career (and her relationship to finishing) Linkable Mentions Episode 26: Cultivating Trust in the Writer's Life Episode 50: Make Space, Not Time & Other Insights From the Sacred Pause Julia Gets Real With Ruth Reichel Let's Connect Visit my website: nicolemgulotta.com Sign up for my encouraging Substack newsletter Curl up with one of my books: WILD WORDS and EAT THIS POEM Say hi on Instagram: @nicolegulotta.author

Episode 150 centers around Bryan's recent weekend at the N1 HQ for Hypertrophy Camp with numerous experiments exploring “lengthened exposures” and training density. We think that you will find some of the outcomes here rather thought provoking, as did we. Bryan wraps up the episode expanding upon Episode 143, where he turned a version of his 10 Exercises for Life into a twice weekly program he will run this Spring as he again shifts his training prioritization towards a cardio focused modality.Bryan's Referral for N1 Events and Courses:https://n1.education/n1-events/ref/boorsteinTIMESTAMPS0:00 - Life/Episode updates9:53 - N1 Hypertrophy camp17:20 - First day partials test - FR+partials vs 1&¼ reps vs partials only across 3 diff movements (DB Bench, Cable Pulldown, Prime “lengthened” pulldown)27:13 - Discussion around same muscle group supersets, and impact of stability32:22 - Leg/Quad test: Alternating Leg Ext to hack versus leg extension THEN hack41:10 - Arm test with 90 sec rest versus 2 min rest (and impact of R to L)45:33 - Examples of increasing density that we used with SUPER DUPER Sets (antagonistic, non competing, and same muscle group)49:58 - The big takeaway from all these tests53:30 - Bryan's Spring Training program Coaching with Aaron ⬇️https://strakernutritionco.com/nutrition-coaching-apply-now/Done For You Client Check-In System for Online Coaches ⬇️https://strakernutritionco.com/macronutrient-reporting-check-in-template/Paragon Training Methods Programming ⬇️https://paragontrainingmethods.comFollow Bryan's Evolved Training Systems Programming ⬇️https://evolvedtrainingsystems.comFind Us on Social Media ⬇️IG | @Eat.Train.ProsperIG | @bryanboorsteinIG | @aaron_strakerYT | EAT TRAIN PROSPER PODCAST
It's easy to to find ourselves thinking that money holds the key to our happiness, security, and freedom. We can project our desires and aversions onto money, believing that once we have “enough”, we can finally get the life we want. But thinking like this often keeps us from truly living our lives; instead we're stuck constantly chasing the next thing.⭐️ Work Well Webinars Money is a story we create, not something with inherent power. It's a piece of paper; a digit in a computer we assign value to. But by disentangling our sense of self from our relationship with money, we can reclaim our personal agency and free up a lot of creative energy.Even while recognising that everyone's financial situations are different, dysfunctional money stories lead to a constant need to chase, where we're forever stuck in a loop of wanting more but never feeling satisfied. But by untangling our sense of self-worth from our financial status, we can start to experience a life that flows more naturally, with and without the constraint of money.
