Friday the 13th is a date that many people around the world connect with bad luck.“13号星期五”是世界各地许多人认为与厄运相关的一个日期。This idea comes from a superstition, a belief that something can bring good or bad luck even if there is no proof.这种观念来自迷信——即认为某些事物会带来好运或厄运,即使没有任何证据支持。People have long considered both the number 13 and the day Friday unlucky.人们长期以来都认为数字13和星期五这一天是不吉利的。The number 12 is often viewed as complete or balanced, so 13 feels unusual or unlucky in comparison.数字12通常被视为完整或平衡的象征,因此与之相比,13显得不寻常甚至不吉利。That is why some buildings skip the 13th floor, and people avoid making big plans on that date.这也是为什么一些建筑会跳过13层,以及人们会避免在这一天做重要计划。In history, Friday was linked with sad or serious events, such as the crucifixion of Jesus.在历史上,星期五曾与悲伤或重大事件相关,例如耶稣的受难。One famous event that may have contributed to the fear was the arrest of many members of the Knights Templar on Friday, October 13, 1307.一个可能加深这种恐惧的著名事件是:1307年10月13日星期五,许多圣殿骑士团成员被逮捕。Over time, the date became more well-known through books, scary stories, and horror movies.随着时间推移,这一天通过书籍、恐怖故事和恐怖电影变得更加广为人知。Today, some people are afraid of the date, a fear known as paraskevidekatriaphobia.如今,一些人对这一天感到恐惧,这种恐惧被称为“十三号星期五恐惧症”(paraskevidekatriaphobia)。But there is no proof it brings bad luck, many people just treat it like any other day.但并没有证据表明它真的会带来厄运,许多人只是把它当作普通的一天来看待。

That's right, revisit history in the making in this episode as we say goodbye to Ted, Doug & Sara, discover the hidden connection between Harry Manfredini's soundtrack and “choo choo” trains, pitch a swell sounding 16 month-calendar idea based around Patrick's semi-nude body, solve the Bottom/Top Bunk Dilemma and dig into everyone's favorite new appetizer, “strip 'n dip,” and we face the tough Choose Your Own Deathventure. Greetings, and welcome back to Horror Business. We've got one heck of an episode in store for you guys as we're talking about 1984's Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter and 1986's Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives First off thank you to the fine folks over at Lehigh Valley Apparel Creations, the premiere screen-printing company of the Lehigh Valley. Chris Reject and his merry band of miscreants are ready to work with you to bring to life your vision of a t-shirt for your business, band, project, or whatever else it is you need represented by a shirt, sweater, pin, or coozy. Head on over to www.xlvacx.com to check them out. And as always thank you to our Patreon subscribers. Your support means the world to us and we are eternally thankful. If you would like to become a Patron, head to patreon.com/cinepunx. Thanks in advance! We briefly talk what we've doing involving horror recently. Liam discusses listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series of novels, and be we briefly talk about our favorite audiobooks that add something to the source material. We talk about the film Touch Me, and Liam talks about listening to The Stand on audiobook. Justin talks about the films The Whistle and Bodycam. We talk at length about the film Undertone. Up first is Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter. We open by talking about the appeal of Jason Vorhees as being based on the fear of the other in that until the sixth movie he is essentially a mentally challenged hermit living in the woods. We touch upon the upcoming series. Justin talk abouts the checkered history of Paramount's support of the franchise in that they were “becoming embarrassed” with their association with the series and intended to kill off Jason and have this be the end of the series but the financial response of the films inspired them to continue churning out sequels, and Justin ascertains that these movies are the epitome of the worst part of capitalism. We talk about the various problems with the horror community in general and toxic fandom as a whole. Justin talks about how not minding the first three F13 movies he doesn't really find the character of Jason Vorhees compelling at all.  Justin talks about what he likes about the film: the filmmaker decided to make a child the protagonist in a film that was very clearly not at all made for kids, and not just a protagonist but a smart protagonist. Liam talks about his experience with these films in that part six was the first of the series he saw and how he weirdly misremembers them, including a moment in which a character is murdered in an over the top almost silly manner (the infamous “he's killing me!” scene) as well as the many, many extended chase scenes, and how the mystique of the character is ruined by shots of him running, and Justin adds that either a brisk walk or straight up just showing up is the only acceptable way slasher villains should move. We talk about Tommy Jarvis' method of fucking with Jason, and how it's at least innovative for a horror movie. Up next is Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. We start by talking about how this is the first film where Jason is overtly supernatural, and that Tommy did actually kill him but now he's resurrected and actually undead. Justin talks about how it's weirdly believable that Tommy would need to see the body before believing Jason was actually dead. He also talks about how unlike part 4 he finds this scene entirely irredeemable. Liam talks about how the movie doesn't hold up to his memory of it. Liam talks about how ridiculous it is that everyone has willingly forgets about Jason. He also talks about how there's a weird sense of humor in the film that isn't present in the prior films, especially in the infamous paintball scene, and how he didn't really remember that as a kid, although he says the “quippiness” was a bit much. We discuss how the ending of chaining Jason to the bottom of the lake sounds cool but there's no real logic to it. First off thank you to Christan for not only suggesting these films but also being a faithful patreon subscriber. It truly means the world to us when people see and hear what we do and decide to support us in any way possible. As always thank you for listening and to everyone and anyone who donated on Patreon, checked this episode out, or shared a tweet/shared a post on FB/gave us love by recommending us to someone. Obsession has become one of the biggest and most talked about movies in America. So much so that it has actually been the number one movie at the box office during the week. Obviously, this will change over the holiday weekend, but it is still nice to see it doing so well. We also talk about what the future holds for it. It seems like we have been talking about Crystal Lake for years. And every once in a while, we have a little bit more information to discuss. This time we actually have a release date for the Friday the 13th spinoff. And it is just around the corner. Zombie apocalypse movies are a staple of horror. They can do a lot by doing a little. To break away from the formula, there have been a number of movies in the sub-genre that have tried to do more. This Is Not a Test tries to bring a depth rarely seen in zombie films. This ends up ruining the whole thing. At the very least, you would figure that people who like these types of films would enjoy it. The opening certainly gives that impression. After all, it is a generic zombie movie. Then you realize that there is a big piece missing from what is otherwise a ho-hum release. It's the section of FRIDAY THE 13th PART 5 so nice, we recorded this episode twice!! That's right, it's the return of this special edition of our New Beginning coverage and bringing on two great guests to help us: the leader of F This Movie, Patrick Bromley, and the co-writer/director of Beyond The Gates, Jackson Stewart! Both of them love Part 5: A New Beginning, and they're here to defend the indefensible as we decide if this movie has an “accidental snuff film” feeling, debate whether anyone involved in the movie has ever met another human being before, compare notes on our new favorite band “Panda” and finally get to the bottom of the weirdest #GetBunked committed to film! Also, is this the only Friday film to feature the breathtaking art of mime? All this, plus we go to town on a new Choose Your Own Deathventure, and you've got the best way ever to celebrate Friday the 13th EVER!! Listen to the F This Movie podcast and read the blog here!! This Week in Horror History for May 11–17 brings together a loaded week of horror movie anniversaries, Stephen King adaptations, Universal Monsters, zombie outbreak horror, slasher sequels, kaiju blockbusters, and modern home-invasion terror.Inside this episode:• May 11, 1936 — Dracula's DaughterUniversal Horror gets one of its strangest and saddest vampire follow-ups, turning Dracula's legacy into a chilly story of blood, inheritance, repression, and the desperate hope that evil might be cured.Where to watch (U.S., this week): Rent/buy on Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.• May 11, 2007 — 28 Weeks LaterThe Rage virus returns with soldiers, checkpoints, quarantine zones, and the terrifying idea that the people in charge may declare the nightmare over long before the nightmare agrees.Where to watch (U.S., this week): Rent/buy on Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.• May 13, 1988 — Friday the 13th Part VII: The New BloodJason Voorhees rises again on an actual Friday the 13th, this time facing a telekinetic final girl in the cult-favorite slasher sequel fans often describe as Jason versus Carrie at Crystal Lake.Where to watch (U.S., this week): Paramount+ with subscription; rent/buy on Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.• May 16, 2014 — GodzillaThe MonsterVerse begins as Gareth Edwards brings Godzilla back to American theaters with disaster-movie scale, radioactive awe, and the reminder that humanity is not always the main character of the planet.Where to watch (U.S., this week): Rent/buy on Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. Then, in this week's Deep-Cut Spotlight, we go to May 11, 1984 — Firestarter, the Stephen King adaptation about a little girl, a secret government experiment, and the terrifying question of what happens when the weapon you built learns to hate you. Drew Barrymore stars as Charlie McGee, a child whose fear and trauma can ignite into actual flame, making Firestarter one of King's most haunting stories of power, control, and childhood weaponized by adults.Plus: a birthday roll featuring Robert Pattinson, David Boreanaz, Megan Fox, and Bill Paxton, a Then & Now Bite about horror's power to mutate across generations, and a Weekly Recommendation for The Strangers: Chapter 1, a modern masked-intruder nightmare that proves some old fears never stop knocking. From Dracula's Daughter to Firestarter, from 28 Weeks Later to Friday the 13th Part VII, from Godzilla to The Strangers, this week is packed with horror history that refuses to stay buried.

This episode revisits the bloody legacy of Friday the 13th, the 2005 remake of House of Wax, the serial-killer comic-book mystery Nailbiter, the retro survival-horror game Crow Country, and this week's Deep-Cut Spotlight: The Burning, one of the most brutal and underrated 1980s camp slasher movies.Inside this episode:May 7, 2014 — Nailbiter #1A modern horror comic favorite from Image Comics introduces Buckaroo, Oregon—a small town with a terrifying reputation for producing serial killers. If you love crime horror, serial killer stories, creepy small-town mysteries, and horror comics, this one belongs on your radar.Where to read (U.S., this week): Image Comics, Kindle/Comixology, and collected editions from Image and major booksellers.May 6, 2005 — House of WaxThe 2005 House of Wax remake brings glossy 2000s horror, slasher-movie chaos, and a gruesome wax museum setting together in one sticky nightmare. A cult favorite of the era, it mixes road-trip horror, trapped-tourist terror, melting bodies, and brutal setpieces.Where to watch (U.S., this week): Tubi; rent/buy on Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.May 9, 1980 — Friday the 13thOne of the most important slasher movies of all time hits theaters and turns Camp Crystal Lake into horror history. It's Friday the 13th, which means superstition is in the air and chaos is basically guaranteed. On today's daily comedy show, the Rizzuto Show crew dives headfirst into weird news, questionable relationship advice, and a story so bizarre it sounds like it came from a comedy movie.First up: dating red flags.A listener asks whether being 42 years old with no serious relationships or kids is automatically suspicious when dating. That simple question turns into a full breakdown of modern dating culture, the rise of the “incel” label, and why people today seem to struggle more than ever when it comes to relationships. The conversation includes honest advice, uncomfortable truths, and the realization that sometimes the best way to learn dating is just by getting rejected a few times and surviving it.Then the show stumbles into one of the strangest crime stories imaginable.Somewhere between Los Angeles and Dallas, a freight train shipment went missing… but this wasn't electronics or luxury goods. Thieves stole over $250,000 worth of high-tech male sex toys. The crew investigates the product itself, debates how advanced this technology has become, and wonders what kind of criminal mastermind plans a heist around self-pleasure devices.Naturally, that leads to an even bigger discussion about VR technology, internet culture, and whether modern convenience might actually be ruining people's chances of forming real relationships. But the show takes a heartfelt turn when a listener calls in to talk about dating while dealing with prostate cancer and caring for a parent. The crew shares advice, encouragement, and a reminder that even in the middle of a ridiculous daily comedy show, real moments and real connections still happen. And then comes the biggest moment of the episode. After teasing it all morning, the show finally reveals that one member of the crew has life-altering news — and the announcement sends everyone into celebration mode. Suddenly the conversation turns to baby showers, dad jokes, and the realization that the Rizz Show family is officially getting bigger. From stolen trains to serious conversations to one huge surprise announcement, this episode is everything you'd expect from a chaotic daily comedy show that somehow manages to balance ridiculous humor with real moments.Welcome to another completely normal day with The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Friday the 13th Murders ////// 912  Part 1 of 1    www.TrueCrimeGarage.com   On Friday, July 13th, the quiet town of Panhandle, Texas, where life moved at a gentle pace, was about to be shattered by an event so violent it would be seared into the town's memory forever. This Friday the 13th, was a night that defied the very nature of this peaceful community. Evil didn't come to the town of Panhandle, it was born there and on this Friday the 13th that evil was on a seek and destroy mission. The chaos began in the dead of night. It was a night filled with murder, mayhem, confusion, and chaos. A night that will forever live in infamy as the night that the curse and the evil of lore became real.    Beer of the Week - Panhandle American Wheat by Texas Cannon Brewing Company Garage Grade - 3 and 3 quarter bottle caps out of 5    More True Crime Garage can be found on Patreon and Apple subscriptions with our show - Off The Record.  Catch dozens of episodes of Off The Record plus a couple of Bonus episodes and our first 50 when you sign up today.    True Crime Garage merchandise is available on our website's store page.     Follow the show on X and Insta @TrueCrimeGarage    Thanks for listening and thanks for telling a friend.  Be good, be kind, and don't litter!  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
