Self-Sabotage: Time to Stop Standing in Your Own WayHave you ever felt like you're on the brink of success, only to find yourself pulling back, procrastinating, or making excuses at the last moment? It's as if an invisible force is keeping you stuck, preventing you from reaching your full potential. That force is often self-sabotage—a silent, internal battle where fear, doubt, and limiting beliefs work against your best intentions. It can disguise itself as perfectionism, productivity, avoidance, or even self-doubt, making it difficult to recognize. The good news? These patterns aren't set in stone. By becoming aware of how self-sabotage operates, you can break free from its grip, rewire your mindset, and start moving forward with confidence. In this episode, we talk about the art of self-sabotage, how we get into our way knowingly or subconsciously, and—most importantly—how to break free from self-sabotage with our hero and mindset coach, Katie Wee. Katie is a mindset coach, keynote speaker, actress, survivor, writer, and the founder of Happy Camp. Katie has appeared on TV shows such as Modern Family, Hawaii Five-0, New Girl, and General Hospital, and her writing has been featured on Newsweek and The Huffington Post. At Happy Camp, she teaches others how to love themselves on the deepest level and use manifestation to create what they want in their lives, all while blissing out in paradise. Tune in!What You Will Learn:[00:01] Intro and a bit about our guest today, Katie Wee[07:05] What mindset coaching is and why people seek Katie's guidance[08:02] Understanding self-sabotage: What it is and common ways we engage in it[09:53] How self-sabotage disguises itself and the behaviors that fuel it[17:46] How self-sabotage becomes automatic and weaved in our unconscious mind[25:12] How self-sabotage impacts our happiness and the way we show up [27:40] Practical tips to shift from self-sabotage to self-support [34:29] Becoming conscious inside our own experience [41:08] How to start shifting from “I'm not enough” to “I am enough” energy[48:11] Katie's advice for those feeling overwhelmed by self-sabotage and change[52:52] Wrap up and end of the showStandout Quotes:“It takes 17 seconds for a thought to collect another thought that's like it, so if you're thinking positively for 17 seconds, keep that going for another positive thought.” [26:45]“Often, the first thought is just an automatic program; let the second thought inform your action rather than being reactive; the goal is to be responsive rather than reactive.” [29:49]“Letting yourself meet your goals is self-love; self-love is not surrendering to what you want at the moment.” [36:48]“Our thoughts create how we feel; our feelings create our actions; our actions create our life.” [39:20]Resources Mentioned The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks: https://www.amazon.com/Big-Leap-Conquer-Hidden-Level/dp/0061735361Let's ConnectKatie WeeWebsite: https://www.katiewee.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itskatiewee/Chandler StroudWebsite: https://healingheroespodcast.com/Mixing, editing, and show notes provided by Next Day Podcast.
Have you been feeling stuck, anxious, and disconnected from yourself? Anxiety is a real challenge that many women grapple with, impacting both their emotional and physical well-being. It can show up as a constant feeling of fear, worry, and restlessness or even manifest physically through symptoms like headaches, muscle tension, or difficulty breathing. This overwhelming sense of unease can make it hard to focus, enjoy the present moment, or feel at peace. But recognizing these feelings is the first step toward healing. By addressing anxiety with mindful practices, positive thinking, and self-compassion, it's possible to regain control, find balance, and reconnect with your inner strength. In this episode, we talk about anxiety, panic attacks, how to mitigate anxious feelings and moments of panic, and tactical things that you can start doing to trust yourself and the universe with a returning guest, Katie Wee. The best driving roads aren't the same things as the best roads. The best road in the country is Highway 12 in Utah, but the best driving road is almost every road in far northern California. Dan discusses his epic R8 road trip, Nick discusses CRF450 sales, Ranger Raptor warranty repairs, and more on this week's Shop Talk episode.
Look, is this project a mistake? Probably, but I will attempt to dethrone Sufjan Stevens and make this 50 states thing work! Anyway, today I bring you some really strange cases from California, including what may be the most terrifying looking UFO of all time, a case reminiscent of the film, The Fourth Kind, a mining couple plagued by a zapping UFO, and some orange stealing aliens! The scene:We are near Willcox, Arizona at “Happy Camp” on BLM land where I dry camp and Fred leases from the US Govt. to roam his current 130 head of cattle. I have appointed Fred the mayor of Happy Camp because he makes it his business to know who's coming and going and why. We met the last time I was out here. Fred and I couldn't appear more different but we seem to be cut from the same cloth. Hank and I take a ride up into the hills in his side-by-side to check on the water pumps for his cattle. Join us at camp for an honest tale told through the eyes of the last great generation of ranchers.Highlights:+ Ranched the Mexico border for 24 years during the late 80s and early 90s+ 200 head allotment, 29 sections, 640 acres/section, 19,000 acres+ Third generation - passed down from both Mom's and Dad's side of the family+ Sells calves through the local auction at 6-8 months old+ Ranchers get paid $1 - $1.20 per pound…grocery stores sell it for $10-25/lb+ Can't afford to hire help+ There are 4-5 “middle men” (butchers, packers, etc.) getting paid between the rancher and the grocery store+ Ranchers don't fully understand why they get paid so little+ “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer”+ You've got to really like animals and ranching to be in it+ Fred gets attached to his animals (why he doesn't slaughter his own chicken)+ His horses are like family members to him+ Rain is scarce - when there's not enough, they haul water up the mountain+ Runs three solar-powered water pumps+ “Just get up and go every day”+ “Don't blame nobody for all your mistakes” - if you screw up, admit it and go on (learned from dad)+ Go to college, see how other people do things in the world, then come back to ranch+ Most of the people who own ranches are the money people, not families any more+ A good saddle horse costs $8-10K+ Poachers thieve calves from the land+ Ranchers and farmers are his community because they understand him (not town people)+ Most people don't understand where food comes from (not the grocery store)+ Credit cards are a dirty trick - Fred is cash or check only+ The countryside is his church and his freedom (no bosses)+ Mom loaned him 30K for his first bunch of cows in '91+ Ranchers don't die…the cattle won't let them+ Fighting leukemia since 2007+ Look forward and have a sense of humor - feeling sorry for yourself is the worst thing you can do+ Didn't get an allowance and also didn't want for nothin'A taste:“Just put one foot forward and keep goin'. Just do your best if you can. Take life as it comes because that's the only choice you've got. Be happy...most of the time try to be happy, and do right. […] You make your own mistakes your own way, you learn by your mistakes. And take responsibility, even if you screw up, "so I screwed up", go on with it.”Favorite saying:“You can't be right all the time.”Support the showThank you for listening! Year after year, wildfires have swept through Northern California's wine and dairy country, threatening the region's famed agricultural businesses. . Evacuation orders have become a way of life in places like Sonoma County, and so too have exemptions to those orders. Officials in the county created a special program allowing agricultural employers to bring farmworkers into areas that are under evacuation and keep them working, even as wildfires rage. It's generally known as the ag pass program. Reporter Teresa Cotsirilos investigates whether the policy puts low-wage farmworkers at risk from smoke and flames. This story is a partnership with the nonprofit newsroom the Food & Environment Reporting Network and the podcast and radio show World Affairs. Then KQED's Danielle Venton introduces us to Bill Tripp, a member of the Karuk Tribe. Tripp grew up along the Klamath River, where his great-grandmother taught him how controlled burns could make the land more productive and protect villages from dangerous fires. But in the 1800s, authorities outlawed traditional burning practices. Today, the impact of that policy is clear: The land is overgrown, and there has been a major fire in the region every year for the past decade, including one that destroyed half the homes in the Karuk's largest town, Happy Camp, and killed two people. Tripp has spent 30 years trying to restore “good fire” to the region but has faced resistance from the U.S. Forest Service and others. Twelve years ago, the Forest Service officially changed its policy to expand the use of prescribed burns, one of the most effective tools to mitigate massive, deadly wildfires. But Reveal's Elizabeth Shogren reports that even though the agency committed to doing controlled burns, it hasn't actually increased how much fire it's using to fight fire. The Forest Service also has been slow to embrace another kind of good fire that experts say the West desperately needs: managed wildfires, in which fires are allowed to burn in a controlled manner to reduce overgrowth. To protect the future of the land and people – especially with climate change making forests drier and hotter – the Forest Service needs to embrace the idea of good fire. The church as a whole today no longer finds her rest in Jesus, but in the world. In an effort to wake us up, God is pouring out one remedial judgment after another on America. But, the church is so entrenched in her happy camp that she doesn’t recognize God’s judgments. The vast majority of Americans are lost and hell-bound. Does this stir your heart? If you don’t cry out with tears for the lost and the dying, you don’t […]
In June, 2005, a commuter was driving to work on Saturday morning. As the motorist rounded a turn in Highway 96 a few miles east of Happy Camp, the driver was looking up while passing a 25mph sign. It was then, the commuter got a good look at the creature. The creature stood upright and ran like a man, its long arms swinging. It was about eight feet tall, looked like an ape, and was covered with dark hair. When the witness arrived at Happy Camp, she stopped in at JavaBob's Bigfoot Deli next door to her work. She hurried into JavaBob's Bigfoot Deli to tell JavaBob about her experience while all the details were fresh in her mind.Later at work the witness shared her experience with her manager. The manager packed a 357 Magnum and a camera, drove to the scene of the incident between mile markers 47 and 48, and got out of the car. Standing next to the guard rail on the south side of the highway and looking up at the slope on the north, it was hard to imagine that anyone or anything could climb such a steep incline. At that time there was a rustling sound at the top, and this person also saw the creature standing there. Then it raised it's head and turned to walk away. This witness could see the creature so clearly that when it lifted its foot to leave, the lighter-colored heel-pad was visible. Bob has also written a book about his experiences with the Sasquatch.Purchase my latest book MONSTERS MYTHS and ME (hard copy) at; https://www.createspace.com/3378213 or on Amazon(Ebook) available on Kindle at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A5CGAUM#_fBuyContent=8394051

My friend glenn co-owned a 1968 Cherokee 180 and wanted to visit a mutual friend who was staying at a cabin in Happy Camp, California. He was slowly taking lessons, so we flew together a lot. The little Cherokee was a basic VFR airplane with questionable VOR reliability, but everything else worked fine. I was confident as a 100-hour-plus pilot and looked forward to the trip from Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose to Northern California. The weather forecast called for some clouds, but I knew there was VFR weather inland a little over the Central Valley and along Interstate 5. This was long before GPS or even Loran, so it was going to be pilotage and dead reckoning all the way.
