Can Hypnosis Really Heal Anxiety In Minutes For Autistic And Anxious Minds. With Lawrence Bartley

On this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik talks with autistic hypnotist Lawrence Bartley about what actually happens when anxiety starts to rule your life and why traditional talk therapy is not always enough. Lawrence shares how a single hypnotherapy session shifted a lifetime of anxiety, how the emotional brain ignores logic, and why real change can sometimes happen faster than we have been told. If you are dealing with anxiety, stress, fear or emotional baggage and you are curious about hypnosis, this conversation breaks down myths, explains how hypnosis works without mind control, and gives simple, practical tools you can try today. This is a grounded look at anxiety healing, hypnosis for mental health, and emotional regulation that you can apply in real life across work, relationships, and everyday stress. About the Guest: Lawrence Bartley is an autistic hypnotist who supports people. especially autistic individuals. to release anxiety, fear, stress, addictions and long held emotional pain through hypnotherapy. After years of anxiety that did not shift with therapy, counseling and lifestyle tools, he experienced a powerful change during a hypnotherapy training and decided to dedicate his work to helping others access the same level of emotional freedom. Lawrence focuses on practical subconscious work, emotional energy, and guidance that keeps the client in control of their own healing. Key Takeaways: Anxiety often comes from short childhood moments that the emotional brain never processed, so it does not always require years of work to shift. Logic alone cannot dissolve anxiety or phobias. emotions are stored in the emotional brain, not the analytical brain, which is why “talking yourself out of it” rarely works. Hypnosis is not mind control or movie style drama. in ethical hypnotherapy the client is always in control, following suggestions they agree to, and the goal is healing, not performance. Lawrence describes healing his lifelong anxiety after a focused hypnosis session during a training, following several days of going in and out of trance and working on his subconscious patterns. Emotional energy can be shifted by activating the anxious feeling, then imagining its movement in the body and reversing that movement to neutralize the charge. A simple self tool he shares. notice where anxiety sits in your body, imagine its direction of spin, mentally reverse the spin, then fill your body with a “healing color” that feels safe and strong. He also recommends Jin Shin Jutsu. a Japanese practice where you gently hold each finger to calm worry, fear, anger, sadness and low self esteem while you feel the pulse and let the nervous system settle. Real healing starts when you stop fighting your mind and start listening to what it is trying to protect you from. awareness plus the right tools can turn anxiety from a life sentence into a solvable problem. Stillness, midlife anxiety, Christian mindset, healing, surrender, and purpose—this episode dives into stillness as the first daily shift to heal your mindset. Stillness is the doorway to hearing your calling, calming anxiety, and reconnecting with God when life feels loud and out of control. In this solo episode, host and author Lesa Koski shares how stillness became the unexpected beginning of her healing journey after a breast cancer diagnosis. She walks you through her come-to-Jesus moment in Arizona, the shock of hearing “you have cancer,” and the deep, surprising peace she found on the morning of her surgery. You'll learn why stillness is not passive or weak, but a powerful spiritual and emotional reset that breaks the cycle of overthinking, people-pleasing, and white-knuckling your way through life. Lesa offers real-life tools to help you practice stillness when your mind is spinning—whether you're facing cancer, divorce, health fears, or simply the quiet ache of a life that feels “too much.”If you're a woman over 40 or 50 feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, this conversation will show you how stillness can become your first daily shift toward peace, purpose, and a more joyful, God-led life. Stillness doesn't remove the hard things, but it changes how you move through them.Timestamps:(00:00) Introduction to stillness as the first daily shift(02:05) Living in lifelong anxiety, fear, and fight-or-flight(04:12) The Arizona come-to-Jesus moment and praying for healing(07:03) The mammogram callback and terrifying biopsy experience(09:45) Hearing “you have breast cancer” and being forced to stop(12:18) Letting go of control and surrendering outcomes to God(14:40) Crying on hay bales, walking in the woods, and praying through fear(17:02) The morning of surgery, malignant hyperthermia, and supernatural peace(19:30) Why stillness is the foundation of healing and mindset work(21:08) Practical tools to access stillness when your mind is spinning(23:05) Using the feelings wheel and Scripture to name and process emotions(24:15) How to get Lesa's ebook, newsletter, and next steps for your healing journeyKey Takeaways:Stillness is the first daily shift that opens the door to hearing your calling and healing your mindset.A crisis (like cancer, divorce, or a child in trouble) can force you into stillness—and that stillness can become holy ground. You can't control outcomes, but you can control how you move through hard seasons by surrendering to God.Stillness isn't about doing nothing; it's about feeling your feelings, noticing God's presence, and interrupting anxiety's momentum.Simple practices—walking, crying in a safe place, grounding in your body, and using a feelings wheel—can help you access stillness even in the middle of chaos.Guest Bio:Lesa Koski is an attorney/mediator, podcast host, breast cancer survivor, and author of 5 Daily Shifts to Hear Your Calling and Heal Your Mindset. Have you been feeling anxious lately? Do you notice when your mind starts to spiral? Jay welcomes back his good friend and New York Times bestselling author Gabrielle Bernstein for a deep and inspiring conversation about true inner healing. Together, they unpack Gabby’s latest book, Self-Help, which reimagines Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) as a practice anyone can bring into their daily life. Gabby shares how the parts of us we often judge, the anxious part, the perfectionist, the people-pleaser, the one who needs control, aren’t our enemies. They’re parts that have been trying to protect us, even if they sometimes get in the way. As the conversation unfolds, Jay and Gabby unpack why so many of us get caught in cycles of burnout, self-criticism, and emotional disconnection. Gabby shares her simple four-step “check-in” practice, a way to pause, look inward, and start building a kinder relationship with ourselves. Through this process, she explains, we can start to recognize our patterns, meet them with compassion and find peace even in the midst of life’s noise. Together, they unpack powerful questions we can all relate to: Why is it easier to comfort others than ourselves? Could our inner critic actually be trying to protect us? And how can we set boundaries without losing our empathy or warmth? In this interview, you'll learn: How to Befriend Every Part of Yourself How to Recognize Your Inner Protectors How to Heal Through Compassion, Not Control How to Calm Your Inner Critic How to Create Boundaries Without Guilt How to Self-Soothe When You Feel Triggered Healing doesn’t mean fixing what’s broken, it means learning to see every part of yourself with compassion and curiosity. The parts of you that once felt heavy or hard to love are often the same ones that carried you through the toughest moments. Send us a textThis week on The Less Stressed Life Podcast, we're breaking down the fascinating connection between unresolved trauma, chronic inflammation, and the nervous system. Dr. Don Wood explains how past experiences get "stuck" in the brain, keeping the body in a constant state of stress and driving symptoms like anxiety, autoimmune issues, and even chronic pain.We discuss why emotional trauma can show up as physical illness, how it alters immune function, and—most importantly—how to reprogram the brain to stop running old stress patterns. Dr. Wood also shares real-life transformations, including how healing trauma helped an athlete break a world record!Don's FREE video series "3 Hacks To Reset Your Mind".
