>> FKA Twigs – Eusexia (Atlantic) Der sonst so düster wirkende Drum n' Bass-Sound wirkt beim Belgier Gaiko ungewohnt bunt, euphorisch und einladend. A story about puppets, Thanksgiving Land, a missing movie, and a space worm.Listen in as me and returning guest, Devon, pull on our stretchy pants and sit down to feast on the sequel to the infamous ThanksKilling. We wanted a meal, but it ended up feeling like a forced enema.Directed by Jordan Downey (ThanksKilling, The Head Hunter) and co-written by Downey, Mike Will Downey (ThanksKilling 3), and Kevin Stewart (ThanksKilling, The Head Hunter), Cinema Head Cheese called the film "so incredibly bad, it defies the worst possible criticism, and ultimately, it proves absolutely zany-wonderful to behold," while Splatter Critic said it was "a general mess that rarely makes sense." I'm gonna have to side with Splatter Critic on this one. Spoiler alert: we didn't like this film. Sorry ThanksKilling crew. You did MUCH better when you had less money. It tells the story of Turkie from the first film hunting down the last copy of ThanksKilling 2, a film that was so bad every copy but one was destroyed. There are lots of puppets (for some reason) and a duo of Thanksgiving-obsessed dudes who want to make a theme park dedicated to the holiday. Confused? Well, it only goes downhill from here. Honestly, why couldn't ThanksKilling 3 meet the same fate as part 2?The film is currently available on Indie Club via Prime Video Channels, Pluto TV, Tubi, and Prime Video for rent or purchase.
What are your growth, peace, and dreams worth to you? Capital Swank (hip-hop artist, The Indie Club) stops in to talk about how he dropped everything and drove across the country in pursuit of his music. •Conversation also includes: - Answering TBKSS All-Time, Top 5 -The Indie Club (the international independent hip-hop group) -The Impact of Family -Importance of environment --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thebkspadezshow/message

This week on The Boys in the Band Podcast we talk about London's iconic indie club scene of the mid-2000s with The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan. The band went on to be nominated for a Mercury Prize for their standout Primary Colours album and toured the world - but it all started with Faris stood in the crowd at a White Heat show in central London on a Tuesday night... We discuss the importance of the London club scene and the community which surrounded it - and how it inspired musicians such as Faris to pick up an instrument or microphone and take to the stage themselves. Plus - a lot more! From fashion to Faris' art... and new Horrors music on the way. The Horrors fan? Beans On Toast - aka Jay McAllister - was at the heart of the London indie scene in the 2000s. A prolific alt-folk songwriter, his social commentaries - often in collaboration with some of the era's biggest stars - were turned around in double-quick time. But when he wasn't on stage himself he was running some of the biggest indie club nights in the capital, such as Frog. Here, he tells The Boys in the Band Podcast how he helped turn the iconic Nambucca pub from a quiet, empty boozer into the epicentre of the London indie scene, with help from his friends Frank Turner, The Holloways, Florence and The Machine and many more. He also reflects on his ELEVEN studio albums, teases number twelve, and explains how his quick songwriting and straight-talking style has enabled him to release singles during lockdown about the coronavirus pandemic. In 2005 he moved back to California and started three software companies over the next 5 years. After almost losing everything in a lawsuit with a business partner, he figured he better quickly learn how to be a leader.

This week's episode of Music Business Dreams is long overdue. I'm answering questions from around the web about how you can make real progress in your career. The Music Modernization Act was signed by President Trump last week, so I answer some questions to add clarification to our previous video on the subject. I also answer your questions about Music Marketing, Touring and more. Questions answered include: Is The Music Modernization Act bad for streaming companies? How does the Music Modernization Act apply to artists outside the US? How to carve out a unique brand voice as an artist. How do you book shows for an artist when you don't live in the same city? If you have questions of your own, you can ask them inside the Indie Club, our free networking and artist support community on Facebook. For one-on-one support, you can now book a 60-minute consultation with me! I'd love to hear from you.
We've all seen the movies. Some kid dreams of being a star, then a sleazeball con artist slick talks their way into a management contract. They take all the money and the artist can barely keep a roof over their head. Nowadays, the scams aren’t always as obvious… unless you know how to spot the warning signs. Today, in a special solo episode of Music Business Dreams, I break down some of the top scams in today’s music business. I also tell you why you need to change your mindset for success. There are no shortcuts in this business, and anyone who tells you otherwise is probably trying to scam you. Sam Fisher is an artist manager at Deep South Entertainment, where he represents a host of artists including rising star Branan Murphy. But that's not where his story begins. Sam has been around the business since he was young, as his mother and father were both musicians. Since he was young, he had dreams of rocking out on stage. Sam finally got to see a glimpse of that dream when he was tapped to be the front man for Weekend Excursion. With the band, he toured all across the country, sold over 30,000 albums independently, and even had his music placed on TV shows like Dawson's Creek. When the band's run ended in 2007, Sam decided to try his hand in artist management. Because of his relentlessness and the passion he has for his clients, he's been wildly successful. Combined, his artists have sold over 500,000 albums and have been streamed nearly 75 million times. Today on Music Business Dreams, Sam recounts his experiences in the industry, gives advice to aspiring artist managers, and tells us what separates those who dream from those who actually do.
