Every team has them. The teammate who turns a one-word answer into a five-minute monologue. The developer who has not said a word in three retrospectives. The Product Owner who "adds context" to every user story before anyone gets a chance to read it. This episode is a high-energy, no-nonsense look at the over-talkers and under-talkers who quietly shape every meeting, and at the facilitation moves that turn a room of crickets and ramblers into a room of contributors. Expect a practical tour through the Explorer, Shopper, Vacationer, and Prisoner lens from Diana Larsen and Esther Derby's Agile Retrospectives, a fresh take on meeting personas like the Rambler, the Interrupter, the Silent Assassin, and the Ghost Participant, and a stack of techniques you can use this week:Sand timers in stand-ups. Parking lots that get used. Round-robin and popcorn share-outs. Intentionally crafted breakout rooms. Silent brainstorming. "Make space, take space" working agreements. And the most underused move of all, one-on-one coaching outside the meeting. The takeaway is simple and bracing. The goal of a great meeting is not equal talking time. The goal is meaningful contribution. Great facilitators do more than manage conversations. They create the conditions for better conversations to happen.

Foo Fighters also included a minute-long snippet of music in their announcement post. The heavy, vocal-less track is stacked with furious guitars and aggressive, punkish drums but currently yields no results on Shazam. It's unclear whether it's a new, as-yet-unreleased Foo Fighters song or perhaps an old vault track that's never seen the light of day." This is an encore presentation of a previous episode, originally airing in 2016.  --- Currently a writer on CBS' Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Brian Stack started on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 1997, winning an Emmy for writing on the show ten years later and appearing as the caped and mustachioed Interrupter, hapless door-to-door salesman Hannigan and the ghost of old-time radio crooner Artie Kendall, among a slew of other characters. He followed Conan to both his truncated tenure at The Tonight Show and his current TBS program, but moved with his family back to New York and joined the Colbert staff in September of 2015. Having also made appearances on 30Rock, The Office, New Girl and Parks & Recreation, Brian talks today about his love for The Replacements, what vinyl box set he recently bought despite no longer owning a turntable, and yes... what it's like to open for Slipknot. He served as the communication director for Cure Violence, an internationally renowned violence prevention program featured in the award-winning film The Interrupters. Josh helmed the rebrand of Integrate Health, a global health initiative in West Africa, helping increase their budget by nearly $1 million. With co-director Rita da Silva at Usina da Imaginação, he pioneered collaborative filmmaking with youth — directing the first feature made entirely by ex-child soldiers, producing an indigenous telenovela in Bolivia, and creating the first fictional film in the Amazonian Tukano language.
