Jan 6:1-15 1 Ježíš se vydal na druhou stranu Galilejského jezera, jinak zvaného Tiberiadské. 2 Lidé viděli, že mnohé uzdravil, a hrnuli se za ním v zástupech. 3 Ježíš vystoupil na jednu horu a tam se posadil se svými učedníky. 4 Bylo krátce před velikonočními svátky 5 a Ježíš ze svého vyvýšeného místa viděl, že se mnoho poutníků připojuje k zástupu jeho posluchačů. Obrátil se na Filipa s otázkou: Kde nakoupíme tolik chleba, aby se všichni ti lidé najedli? 6 (Ježíš chtěl tou otázkou vyzkoušet Filipovu víru; sám již věděl, jak tu situaci vyřeší.) 7 Filip mu odpověděl: Pane, i kdybychom měli chleba za deset tisíc, stále by to pro ně bylo málo, i kdyby každý jen ochutnal. 8 Jeden z učedníků, Šimonův bratr Ondřej, Ježíše upozornil: 9 Je tu jeden chlapec, který má s sebou pět ječných chlebů a dvě ryby. Rozsadili se tedy pohodlně po travnatém úbočí; jen mužů tam bylo asi pět tisíc. 11 Ježíš vzal těch pět chlebů, poděkoval za ně Bohu, rozlamoval je a učedníci je roznášeli sedícím. Predict positive outcomes in marriage, success and well-being Facts and Statistics About Smiling A study by a UC-San Francisco researcher found that there are 19 different types of smiles. These can be placed into two categories: polite social smiles and sincere felt smiles. Smiles can use anywhere from five to 53 muscles in your face. Smiling can actually boost your immune system and your physical health as well, allowing you to live up to seven years longer! Smiles can be contagious; people actually have trouble frowning when looking at others who are smiling and find themselves subconsciously beginning to smile as well. Typically, women smile more than men, although in work environments, they smile about the same amount. Babies are capable of smiling mere moments after they’re born.   Ask the Doc:    “When is it time for an X-ray or an MRI?”   Thirty-three articles reporting imaging findings for 3110 asymptomatic individuals met our study inclusion criteria. The prevalence of disk degeneration in asymptomatic individuals increased from 37% of 20-year-old individuals to 96% of 80-year-old individuals. Disk bulge prevalence increased from 30% of those 20 years of age to 84% of those 80 years of age. Disk protrusion prevalence increased from 29% of those 20 years of age to 43% of those 80 years of age. The prevalence of annular fissure increased from 19% of those 20 years of age to 29% of those 80 years of age.   Point is that there are false positives. Depends on profession regarding whether x-ray will be of relevance Weighted vs. Non-weighted Will it change my treatment?     Final Thots: Non-professional joint manipulation and mobilization Body Tempering, Graston, Soft tissue digging, “popping” your back… Friends, athletic trainers, personal trainers, coaches – They are not chiropractors and do not know the anatomy or have the skill to safely “adjust” or manipulate your spine or extremities.

The effects of technology on the law can be seen throughout the profession as these innovations are slowly integrated into the legal marketplace. However, has the union of new tech and the practice of law been significantly transformative for lawyers and clients? What factors have hindered the adoption of new technology in the legal sector and what catalysts might be implemented to accelerate the pace of change? In this episode of Law Technology Now, host Monica Bay speaks with Legal Services Corporation President and CodeX FutureLaw keynote speaker Jim J. Sandman about his 10 reasons the law has been slow to adopt technology and the “levers of power” that might be engaged to accelerate that rate. Jim opens the interview with a brief summary of his time as managing partner at Arnold & Porter LLP, the general counsel for the District of Columbia Public Schools, and his five years of tenure as the president of Legal Services Corporation. He reflects on his CodeX 2016 FutureLaw Conference keynote speech and expresses that his intention was to provide an overview of where the profession stands with technology in law today. Technology, Jim explains, has made a number of improvements in law but hasn’t transformed service delivery in the same way it has in other industries and professions. He shares that 80% of the civil legal needs of low income people go unmet and analyzes statistics from legal aid organization studies that show that between 50% to 67% of individuals who can’t afford a lawyer are denied legal services because of inadequate resources. Jim then presents his list of 10 impediments to the adoption of technology in the legal profession, such as a sluggish lawyer administered regulatory system, and discusses changes made in the UK and Australia to approve non-lawyer ownership of law firms. He closes the interview with his list of the 10 agents of change, such as the legal media and state legislatures, that can aid in increasing efficiency for attorneys through the adoption of new technologies. James J. Sandman has been president of the Legal Services Corporation since 2011. He practiced law with Arnold & Porter LLP for 30 years and served as the firm’s managing partner for a decade. From 2007 to 2011, he was general counsel for the District of Columbia Public Schools.
