Russia has become adept at directing the attention of its adversaries by triggering national security responses to small, sometimes insignificant activities, distracting Western leaders from Moscow's more important actions elsewhere. The Kremlin understand Western sociology and politics so well that one is hard pressed to do anything but admire their execution of reflexive control over external national security systems: The Wests' inability to regain the initiative and to build a more resilient attention economy is disappointing. Dr Ivana Stradner has some answers: in explaining the foundations of Russian C2, Ivana offers real options for Western leaders in regaining a footing in the information war against Moscow.

In this episode of Allied Health Business Brilliance, Cathy Love is joined by Angie (Angelina) Saunders, Founding Director of the Online Breathing Academy, for a grounded, science-informed conversation about stress, breathing, and self-regulation. Angie shares her personal journey from fast-paced production life, postnatal depletion, and emotional reactivity into the field of behavioural breathwork. Together, Cathy and Angie unpack why controlling the breath can keep people functioning while still operating at a physiological deficit — and why reflexive regulation, where the body leads, creates more sustainable calm, clarity, and capacity. The conversation also explores how breathing patterns influence leadership decisions, energy management, and recovery for business owners under constant pressure. Topics covered on reflexive regulation, stress breathing, self-regulation, business decision-making: Reflexive breathing vs forced calm – Why “just take a deep breath” can backfire and what works more effectively instead. Stress breathing patterns – How stress shows up through shallow, rapid, irregular breathing, sighing, or yawning — and why it's highly individual. CO₂ and nervous system regulation – The role of carbon dioxide in oxygen delivery, emotional regulation, and cognitive clarity. Breathing, rest, and leadership capacity – How rest, sleep, hydration, nourishment, and breathing interact to support better business decisions. Loyal listeners, I hope your recent days have gone well, even if they are becoming shorter. On my mind – and where I hope to engage your interest for 20 odd minutes – is the topic of risk and uncertainty. The SPX is at an all time high and it is also highly concentrated with volatile and richly valued but uncorrelated tech behemoths. That's very unique. Whether you are an AI bull or bear, one thing we must acknowledge is the unique degree of index concentration and the risks that accompany it.The exposure of both US households and foreign investors to the SPX is at an all-time high. There's a reflexive element here. The massive increase in market cap for corporates is the currency that funds the epic capex. For consumers, facing a tepid labor market and ongoing cost of living challenges, stock market wealth matters a great deal.I also discuss the surge in volatility in gold and the advent of prediction markets. I hope you enjoy the discussion. Be well.

Okay, we'll admit, this reaction isn't very reflexive since it took several weeks to come to any conclusions, however, we will say that the outcome did not meet the reflexive expectations. Social media is full of creators touting all kinds of health and nutrition advice; and with so much of it seeming extreme, conflicting, or too good to be true it's easy to look at these recommendations with a skeptical side eye. That's exactly how we felt about the advice that women should adapt their diet and lifestyle in accordance with their menstrual cycle, so Ivy decided to do a little experiment. We're not experts and we're not selling anything. With just a handful of Bitcoin treasury companies already absorbing more BTC than miners produce, he argues that the next phase of Bitcoin's bull market will be defined not by retail speculation, but by structural corporate demand.Chapters:00:00 – Intro: Demand Dynamics & Treasury Outperformance01:44 – Alexandre's Bitcoin Journey05:20 – Corporate Adoption vs Individual Sovereignty10:33 – ECB Skepticism & European Rollout14:46 – Positioning Capital B & Bitcoin-Denominated Convertibles19:18 – Why There is Hope for Europe25:21 – Managing Risk, Leverage, and Cash Buffers34:12 – Media Strategy & Educating Shareholders39:34 – Long-Term Execution vs Short-Term Noise46:21 – Defining a "Bitcoin Treasury Company"51:22 – Credit Markets Built on Bitcoin59:00 – Catalysts: Treasury Demand Crushing Miner Supply01:07:01 – Closing ThoughtsConnect with Alexandre Laizet on X: https://x.com/AlexandreLaizetLearn more about Capital B: https://cptlb.com/Follow Bitcoin For Corporations on X: https://x.com/BitcoinForCorpsLearn more about Bitcoin For Corporations – the executive network for corporate Bitcoin adoption: https://b.tc/corporations#BitcoinForCorporations #AlexandreLaizet #BitcoinReflexivity #BitcoinDemandShock #BitcoinTreasury #CorporateBitcoin #BitcoinAdoption #BitcoinInstitutions #BitcoinStrategy #HyperbitcoinizationDISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in this show are those of the participants and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of BTC Inc., Bitcoin Magazine, Bitcoin for Corporations, or any affiliated entities. Markets have just concluded one of the longest stretches of stocks running above their moving averages, and of not having a +/- move in a single day; 72-days with out that occurring, the longest stretch since 1968. That all ended on Friday: We took out the 20-DMa, and had a 1.75-percent drop. We took a very over-bought relative strength index and crammed it to the bottom of its trading range in one day. IT should be no surprise to see a bit of a reflexive rally this morning in attempt to recover some of Friday's decline. Today's question is whether markets can get back above the 20-DMA and reverse that break. Together, we unpack how this model encourages readers to momentarily suspend judgment, identify personal biases, engage ethically, and reflect on the multiple contextual influences that shape meaning. We also discuss the limitations of reading, the intersections of culture, identity, and professional formation, and how this model challenges both passive consumption and systemic echo chambers in training. Whether you're a systemic practitioner, academic, or lifelong learner, this episode offers a powerful invitation to slow down, ask better questions, and develop a more intentional relationship with what we read—and how we read it. “When I feel this way, what does it allow me to learn from this particular paper?” — a question that might just transform your reading practice.Markovic, D. In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast, Rob speaks to Anthony Donskov about reflexive eccentrics. Reflexive eccentric training is gaining recognition for its role in improving athletic performance and reducing injury risk. In this episode, Anthony  breaks down the principles, programming, and practical applications of this training method, emphasizing the importance of stiffness, speed, and strategic progressions in athlete development. Anthony discusses how reflexive eccentrics involve rapid eccentric contractions that enhance force absorption and control. This method is especially relevant for high-level athletes, as it trains deceleration, stability, and explosive reacceleration—all key for sports like hockey. He highlights the importance of clear external cues, such as “grabbing the floor” or “being stiff,” to help athletes optimize landing mechanics and movement efficiency. The conversation also covers programming considerations, including off-season vs. in-season adaptations, how to balance heavy lifting with reflexive movements, and reducing muscle soreness while maximizing explosiveness. Anthony outlines a three-day cycle of training that incorporates heavy lifts, submaximal speed work, and strategic plyometrics. He stresses the need for individualized assessments, using player cards and radar graphs to track progress and adjust training accordingly. Despite the challenges in measuring reflexive eccentric adaptations, improvements in jump height, net impulse, and rate of force development suggest their effectiveness. He concludes by emphasizing the importance of structured strength, recovery, and flexibility in athlete programming, advocating for tissue remodeling and long-duration isometrics to reduce stiffness and chronic injury risk. This episode is packed with practical insights for coaches and practitioners looking to integrate reflexive eccentrics into their performance programs. Main talking points: • Reflexive eccentrics enhance speed, stiffness, and reacceleration • Rapid eccentric contractions improve force absorption and control • Training should be tailored to athlete experience levels • Clear external cues optimize movement efficiency and stiffness • Off-season training should focus on stiffness and strength • A three-day cycle balances heavy lifts and speed work • Reflexive eccentrics reduce muscle soreness and improve explosiveness • Tissue remodeling and isometrics help prevent chronic injuries

Two subthemes were also identified: validation is time-consuming and a new perspective. Today's podcast features Flynn Disney. Flynn is a parkour athlete and human performance coach known for integrating mind, body, and environment in movement training. Flynn combines his history as an athlete with an intensive study of human psychology and experience training animals to provide a unique and insightful perspective on training. All too often, training is thought of on the level of machine-like qualities. Sets, reps, drills, and coaching cues. Rarely do we consider those processes by which children and animals learn, or how the consideration of the total human can change the process by which we coach. Much of this also involves looking at what makes animals and humans both similar and unique, in their movement strength, and abilities. On today's show, Flynn digs into the key differences between animals and humans from a perspective of reflexes and internal wiring, the role of reflexes in training, and examples in plyometric, running, and dynamic “spinal-engine” activities (and the value of “the worm” breakdance move, from an athletic perspective). He talks about the role of attentional networks, and training implications, the impact of risk on our reflex loops in training, and more. Based in London, his mastery of parkour fundamentals, coupled with a deep understanding of biomechanics, has made him a sought-after coach in the movement training community. As a coach, Flynn emphasizes an approach the integrates mind and body, helping athletes of all levels break through physical and psychological barriers. Flynn also contributes to the sport through workshops and content that promote parkour as a tool for developing adaptable and well-rounded athletes.

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 138 George Soros has a theory of change, and his goal is to make and move history. That theory of change is easy to understand if we take the time. It is also explicitly dialectical and alchemical. For Soros, society moves "historically" during times of chaos when people are searching for guideposts for what the future will bring, and it proceeds through change by "fertile fallacies," which are the seeds of what has elsewhere been called mass-formation psychosis. That is, feedback loops based on consequential errors change history. If you want to change history, then, it's simple. First, plunge society into chaos (say, by funding lots of things that destabilize communities). In the meantime, build "reflexive" potential so that the people driven into chaos work in ways favorable to your agendas. Then, when chaos ignites, place strategic "guideposts" that lead the desperate people to make exactly the kinds of mistakes that take them where you want them to go. In this important episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay takes on George Soros and his dialectical alchemy of "reflexivity" through Soros's own words as printed in The Alchemy of Finance (https://amzn.to/4adNsNv) and elsewhere. With a lack of affirmative leadership on the Right, and so much GOP failure on foreign policy, many on the Right are reflexively sounding like Code Pink leftists in order to avoid the fraught nature of neoconservatism. But today I lay out a third path that is truly America first, doesn't embroil us in other people's battles, but still recognizes and prepares for true evil. Too many on the Right think that every war is the result of Western oligarch corruption (like we see in Ukraine) but fail to recognize that Islamic jihad is real and it's evil to the core. I also lay out the just war theory as applied to Gaza and how Israel has no choice but to either destroy it or demand that the global powers help transfer its people to other lands. Either way, we need not involve ourselves militarily in their affairs and should instead focus on ensuring we don't develop the same security problems.  Learn more about your ad choices.
