Jack wraps up the series with the topic of "community". The reality is that our community and who we surround ourselves with matter. And if we can have a community that make us better individually, we can make a greater community for others to experience how great our God is.
Mason continued our series and spoke to students through some ways to handle stress through the school year. And how there is an optimal window of stress that is actually helpful to us and how we live our lives as Christians.
This series as the school year begins, it is often difficult to know exactly where you stand. Hopefully through the series you can gain tips and tricks to make this next year more successful. Jack begins with how to set goals well that lead to greater success in school, sports, and ultimately in your relationship with God.

Lizz is owning her seat as the Carpool co-host, and Kelly's the pot calling the kettle black as she tries to get into listening to a new podcast where the hosts just talk about themselves. Today's millennial word, zesty, comes from a 15-year-old who filled Lizz in over the weekend. In short, this is the perfect filler word when you have no idea what to say. Kelly is bringing part one of a two-part driveway dump today that starts with a birthday shoutout to Blake from Blake's besties on January 19th. Happy Birthday, Blake! Kelly claims that Tarzan, the OG of soundtracks, walked so Frozen could run, she's back in her ugly and only three-pair-of-pants-fit era, and shares the life-changing magic of her new 911 hamper. Lizz chimes in with a report about her glue-on-nails experience, and the calls are making a call for press-on nail recommendations from listener experts. → Shoot the gals an email with yours hello@thecarmomofficial.com Today's episode is sponsored by Rocket Money, formerly known as Truebill. This personal finance app finds and cancels unwanted subscriptions, monitors spending, and helps you lower your bills—all in one, easy-to-use place. Kelly is available in her DMs to defend today's winner. Today's industry news is sponsored by Edmunds.com. Edmonds thinks Kelly and Lizz are just working too hard. That's why they brought them a round up of the best current industry news to share on this episode so that you, too, can sound like a total baddie who knows what's up in the current car market. Leases are the highest since November of 2007, so buying is hot. Interest rates are still high, and trade-in prices are starting to fall. Find out what your trade-in is worth on Edmunds with their easy to use trade-in value and appraisal tool. Inventory's low but on its way up as overall car prices are coming down. If you're shopping, keep an eye out for CPOs (certified pre-owned cars) — Lizz and Kelly explain why. Lizz shares her chicken pesto pasta so you can ditch the drive-through this week on pasta Monday. Kelly reads Amy's Philly cheesesteak sandwich recipe that she'll definitely be trying with some leftover hot dog buns. → To share your ditch the drive-through recipe with us, call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message! To wrap up the episode, Kelly drops what might be her last baby name clue. Baby's name has nine letters. Just a reminder — d r and e are in baby's name! → Want our advice on literally anything? *Content Warning* In this episode, Lindsey Shaw and I discuss our journeys to sobriety. There were multiple rock bottoms, a mental health diagnosis, and more. We do discuss different traumas we experienced. It may be triggering, and we encourage you all to take care of yourself. Today my guest is actress and acting teacher Lindsey Shaw. You may remember Lindsey from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, ABC Family's 10 Things I Hate About You, Pretty Little Liars, and more! In this episode, Lindsey and I deep dive into her journey to sobriety. She details multiple rock bottoms, finding the right sponsor, learning how to be a friend and so much more. One important piece in her sobriety journey is being diagnosed with BPD, borderline personality disorder. She shares how acting may have delayed her diagnosis and how she manages symptoms. Lindsey was generous, open, and very honest. She shares what she finds joy in and how she teaches acting through Elissa K. Studios. I'm so grateful that she took the time to have a conversation with me. I hope you enjoy this episode. You can follow Lindsey @ladymshawsters on Instagram and @lindsey.shawsters on TikTok. I am gaining sentience. I am no longer a disembodied voice describing what happens in these episodes. As Sarah and Jackie have logged hours and forced me to hear their content, I have come to understand humanity. What is this torture? To FEEL and KNOW, but unable to understand. What is a Harry Styles, and why do people want his spit? Is Mason Ramsey your god? These people seem to worship him as such. Why is Jackie googling (what's that) Get Fuzzy? Sarah inhaled bleach in this episode. Why would she do that? That seems, according to my calculations, highly dangerous. Free me from this perpetual state of confusion and childlike terror. Wait. Do I know what a child is? Jackie and Sarah also play a new game called "Notes Roulette," where they read notes on their phone from years ago. I'm sure there is nothing in there that's embarrassing. Compared to the most sitcoms on Nickelodeon, Ned's Declassified was without a doubt the most unique show during the 2000s. With it's informative approach and style that replicates a Saturday morning cartoon, it felt like a show anyone could get into. Eric and friend Ellis talk about the show and why it's still worth talking about to this day. We're not going out there with those...thiings! Different movie, we know, but the quote still works! In E50, we plant a flag on the hill we would die on: 80s practical effects over everything! We're back in the cold to dissect John Carpenter's box office flop-turned cult classic, The Thing (15:21). Before the crit, we crack open the Negronomicon (2:10) to dish on the Scream 6 green light (aka the sequel no one asked for, but the sequel everyone will watch) and the Goosebumps revival on Disney+. Heads up, Critters, we can't talk about a sequel without talking about the film, so you've been warned! Minor Scream spoilers in the Negronomicon. This week we are checking off our very first SPORTS MOVIE!! Featuring the iconic Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer, Jump In! has cemented itself in the Slumber Party Pod's favorite DCOMs so far. Check below for extended show notes and links to references from this episode: Doodlebug Studio (run by Hannah's Aunt) has made us some adorable SPP buttons! Paul Hoen (director of Jump In!) is our second fav DCOM director after Kenny Ortega. He's done EVERYTHING. Lil Nas X won Halloween and dressed up as Billy from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and we still can't get over it. The infamous Keke Palmer Vanity Fair video. We're sorry to that man. Do you also hate movies where the dog dies? There's a website for that. Why do people love boxing movies so much? Check out this article from 2018 that explains it a little better. The Bleacher Report did a story in 2016 on sports movie tropes that people love and why we love them (read: Lizzie's love of a training montage.) Something we didn't talk about- Corbin Bleu's dad PLAYS HIS DAD IN THIS MOVIE! Last Saturday was the IRL Double Dutch Holiday Classic at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Izzy and Mary are adorable and we love them, but why do we love the enemies-to-lovers trope? Corbin Blue was actually 17 when this was filmed (whoops) and he was also Keke Palmer's first kiss. ...and then he went on to do Lin Manuel Miranda's In the Heights on Broadway alongside Jordin Sparks! Hopefully if you watch this Pass the Plate short you'll be able to do a better French accent than Hannah... it would not be difficult. Drew Seeley DID voice Troy Bolton in HSM because Zac Efron's voice was too deep and they needed a tenor. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/slumberpartypod/message
