Today: In 1979, Nurse With Wound entered a UK recording studio with no musical training whatsoever and created an album called Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella, which promptly was awarded a rating of five question marks from Sounds Magazine. Since then, NWW has confounded critics and listeners alike, both pioneering and mining the areas of improvisation, Krautrock-influence, electroacoustic experiments and more, with unparalleled sense of invention and quite often humor. Today, Brian Turner reflects back on the massive body of work by this shifting ensemble, digging out a rare interview he did with its central figure, Steven Stapleton, from his Irish goat farm.NURSE WITH WOUND - Rock N' Roll Station - Rock N' Roll Station (United Dairies, 1994)NURSE WITH WOUND - Fragments I - Who Can I Turn To Stereo Etc. In our Vivekananda's Triangle of Love & How Jñāna = Bhakti we introduced Swamiji's signature idea: the three things that make love worthy of the name as well as the idea that Bhakti, Devotion and Jñāna, Philosophy are really ultimately the same thing. This is the core theme of the book, I think. Now, in this lecture, we expound on those two ideas by reading the next lecture, "The God of Love is His Own Proof" which really drives home the point of how Jñāna and Bhakti are two ways of describing the same thing. We quote two verses from the Bhāgavat Gīta, Chapter 7 to substantiate the claim. Finally, we "special treat" in this class is a reading of an excerpt from "The Life of Swami Vivekananda by His Eastern and Western Disciples" which gives us a rare, profound and moving glimpse into Swami Vivekananda's own inner struggle with the Bhakti and Jnana aspects of his personality! You'll find a playlist of classes from our series on "Swami Vivekananda's Bhakti Yoga here: https://www.patreon.com/collection/728434 Lectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and Friday 10am PST and again Friday at 6pm PST.Use this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrMSupport the show

Send us a textBhakti yoga involves transcending the forms we worship to reach the formless divine essence; persistent duality becomes an obstacle when it creates a new ego identity based on being "the devotee."• The ultimate goal is to dissolve the separation between worshipper and worshipped• Emotional highs in devotional practices can be beautiful but shouldn't become attachments• Fear of ego death prevents many devotees from complete surrender• Even identifying as a "servant of God" can become a subtle form of spiritual pride• True surrender is not emotional declaration but dissolution of identity• Devotional activities without self-inquiry become distractions• Bhakti without knowledge (jnana) leads to stagnation• True devotion matures from "I love God" to "What am I?" to "I am this formless awareness"• Jnana and bhakti are two wings of the same bird - both essential for spiritual freedomJoin me on Discord to continue the discussion. Bhagawan Shiva is Shashi-shekhara. Shashi is a name given for the moon . The meaning of the word is one who has a rabbit like mark . Moon shows a rabbit like mark when seen from earth so it is given that name . Shekara means crest or crest ornament. One who wears moon as an ornament in his crest is called shashishekara . Moon is the presiding deity of the mind.  The crescent moon is symbolic of our mind being steady. The moon goes through waxing and waning but the moon on Lord Shiva's jata does not go through any modification. It remains steady. Vedanta says Manaso Devataa Chandramaaha. In the Vedas, Shiva Sankalpa sukta's each mantra ends with the line – Tan me manah Shiva-sankalpam astu. May my mind have an auspicious resolve. By the grace of Lord Shiva, may our mind have positive and auspicious resolve. May we not fall for negative thinking. May we continue to lift ourselves higher and higher. Moon also is a symbol of coolness. As seekers, we have to keep our mind cool and calm. Though Lord Shiva is known for anger or Rudra Tandava, yet he is calm, composed and equanimous. He is a yogi whose mind is very calm. Bhagawad Geeta says - Prashanta manasam hyenam, yoginam sukham uttamam. The calm mind of a yogi experiences Supreme Bliss. Shivagamas say that chandra is the symbol of Jnana or ultimate wisdom. Moon is also symbol of yogic bliss. Lord Shiva is the greatest yogi so he bears moon ( divine bliss ) on his crest. The scriptures describing yoga shaastra also compares moon with unmani sthithi (thoughtless state beyond the mind). Advaita speaks of it as Amani bhaava(state of Consciousness, beyond thoughts).Comment “Chandra” to get the story of how moon came to adorn Bhagawan's crest and why He is called Chandrashekhara #shiva #chandra #moon #mahadev #yogalife #yogic #bliss#advaita #mindset #mind #mindfulness #spirituality

Ganga means one who speeds up our journey or evolution and who unites us with the Goal OF life. She flows from Brahmaji's kalash to Vishnu Bhagwan's foot during the Vamana Avatar and from there to the jata of Shivji before flowing on the earth due to Bhagirath's penance. So she is symbolic of Jnana, Bhakti and Seva. She is held by Bhagawan Shiva in his jata symbolic of humbling of her pride and power of Shiva ji's tapasya. Another symbolism is Gangaji is symbolic of Brahmavidya or the knowledge of the Self which is very subtle & difficult to understand. Bhagawan Shiva is the Adi Guru who has realised this knowledge through tapas or austerity and brings this knowledge to the disciples in small understandable doses. Sometimes describing what something is relies more on describing what it is not. In Vedanta and Jnana yoga neti neti, not this, not that, is part of their meditative practice which helps to discard attachment to any number of places where a practitioner can get stuck thinking they've finally arrived, when indeed there is more ground to cover.

Venkatesh describes how his upbringing in a religious Hindu family led initially to spiritual questioning about the nature of God and then to the practice of Transcendental Meditation.  Venkatesh discusses how he came to give up his successful career in business to follow a path of self-knowledge.He outlines the rigorous daily programme of work and study at the Sivananda ashram, where he followed a progressive path of both Jnana and Bhakti yoga. A spontaneous decision to visit the Ramana Maharshi ashram at Tiruvannamalai, resulted in him falling in love with Ramana's teaching and seeing that all the sages were saying the same thing – that this inward journey is the most important purpose of life.We go on to discuss a number of aspects of Ramana's teaching, including the basic ‘who am I' practice, how to overcome the frustration of thoughts that keep flooding back, and how to deal with blank states. He explains the importance of questioning, and the connection between questioning, openness and not-knowing. Supported by his faith in the teaching and a strong desire for liberation he describes how he discovered the unchanging, inner joy of living as pure consciousness, ‘an instrument in the hands of the Lord'.For more information on the Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning, including access to Venkatesh's talks, visit their website http://www.ramanacentre.com/Support the showIf you are interested in exploring spiritual awakening, we invite you to register for our free 7 Days to Awakening self study course, created by Lisa Natoli and Bill Free.Learn more about the The Awareness Podcast and access show notes for every episode at: www.teachersofgod.org/podcastLearn more about The Teachers of God Foundation at: www.teachersofgod.org Original music by Omashar

The Yoginis are messengers of a transitional primal power, the goddess, fierce compassion for change and upliftment and actually beyond the grasp of the conceptual mind. They are related to the elements and all the guises of our being. The Jnana Siddha Yoginis Practice help us recognize our own energies to push us through our blockages, samsara's, patterns, or issues. Welcome to Episode #60 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! My conversation with Lianik Borlasca, a yoga teacher from El Salvador, was multidimensional as we took a deep dive into the spiritual understanding of Jnana and Raja yoga. I hope that this conversation made you curious about the paradigms that exist around yoga, and what we can do to shift them. If you're looking to tune into a podcast episode that is all about all the dimensions of yoga then this is the conversation for you. Tell me more about Lianik Borlasca Lianik Borlasca is a yoga teacher from El Salvador. She is the yoga studio owner of Peace & Yoga in San Salvador. Her passion has been Jñāna and Raja Yoga and the study of the self as the ultimate knowledge. She is also a teacher of Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and is a Reiki Master. Her goal is to integrate everything to teach yoga from different perspectives, to break paradigms around the practice. She has organized International Yoga Day in El Salvador for many years, and has introduced yoga to the public in El Salvador by teaching yoga on several different TV channels in El Salvador. What to expect in the Yoga In El Salvador episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast During the course of our conversation, Lianik wove in so many insights about the multidimensionality of the practice of yoga. She defined Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga and then expanded upon them, why they are the paths of yoga she has been drawn to. She explained how the physical dimension of yoga, is the most limited of the human being. That's why the asana practice is so accessible to everyone, and why it's only the first layer of yoga. It's only one of the branches— there are seven others! Lianik shared beautiful thoughts around all the dimensions around the practice and path of yoga. For the skimmers - What's in the yoga in El Salvador episode? The paradigms around yoga Yoga is a path and the destination at the same time Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga Limitations exist only in your mind The physical dimension is the most limited of the human being Favorite Quote From Lianik Borlasca “Yoga is a path and the destination at the same time.” Connect with Lianik Borlasca https://www.instagram.com/peaceyogasv/ https://www.facebook.com/PeaceYogaElSalvador https://linktr.ee/peaceyogasv Want more?
