The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/050726.cfmFather Daniel Klimek, PhD, explains that the Council of Jerusalem established that faith in Christ, not painstaking adherence to the Mosaic Law, is the path to salvation, while clarifying that moral works remain essential as a fruit of that living faith. Father Daniel contrasts the secular view of God's commandments as unnecessarily restrictive chains with the biblical reality that obeying Christ is an act of love that brings complete joy and human flourishing. By remaining in this relationship of love, believers discover that true freedom is found, not by ignoring the law, but in honoring and obeying the Father who desires their happiness.⭐️ Support our Ministries: https://www.thedivinemercy.org/donate?source=pod✝️ Explore Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Plus! https://divinemercyplus.org/?source=pod⛪️ Plan Your Visit to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy!https://www.shrineofdivinemercy.org/?source=podFollow Us on Social Media!

He illustrates that the Eucharist is an extension of the Incarnation and the greatest miracle of God, which means that we should prioritize physical presence in the Lord's house when possible over the convenience of online streams or spiritual communion. Like the fleet anchoring on the two pillars in St. John Bosco's vision, a robust spiritual life is built on the twin foundations of the Eucharist and Mary, calling us to a total commitment of love rather than merely going through the motions out of mere obligation.⭐️ Support our Ministries: https://www.thedivinemercy.org/donate?source=pod✝️ Explore Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Plus! https://divinemercyplus.org/?source=pod⛪️ Plan Your Visit to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy!https://www.shrineofdivinemercy.org/?source=podFollow Us on Social Media!

Chicago in the 1920s is often remembered for the rise of organized crime and it's larger than life leaders like Al Capone and Johnny Torrio. While these men and their organizations surely shaped the city's identity, their infamy and influence were, at least for a short time, rivaled by a group of young women whose murderous acts would dominate headlines in papers around the country throughout the decade. While Beulah Annan and Belva Gardner—the real-life inspiration for the musical Chicago—were arguably the most well known of the female murders from this era, their famous murders were preceded by the equally sensationalized murder spree of Tillie Klimek. Between 1914 and 1921, Klimek was believed to have killed as many as seven people including four husbands. While her crimes would ultimately land her in the Illinois State Penitentiary for the rest of her life, her exploits and criminal trial were sensational and occupied the front pages of city newspapers for years. The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/040926.cfmFather Daniel Klimek, PhD, proclaims with clarity that the Resurrection of Jesus is not merely symbolic, not only metaphorical, but first and foremost a real, historical event that changes everything. Pointing to the Acts of the Apostles, he shows how St. Peter and St. John heal, not by their own power, but through the name of Jesus — proof that Christ is alive and working even after His Ascension.Father Daniel explains that Jesus Himself removes all doubt about the Resurrection in the Gospel. He invites the apostles to touch His wounds and even eats before them, demonstrating that He is not a ghost, but truly risen in a glorified body. These actions confirm that death has been conquered, and the Resurrection is real.Father Daniel warns against reducing Christianity to mere ideas or symbols. Without belief in the Resurrection, our faith loses its foundation. But with faith in the Resurrection comes hope — the same power that transformed fearful Apostles into bold witnesses is still at work today. The Risen Christ continues to act, to heal, and to call us into a living, supernatural faith rooted in the truth. ★ Support this podcast ★

The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/033026.cfmHoly Week is not merely a historical commemoration; it is a sacred invitation to enter the deepest regions of intimacy with Jesus and Mary. As Fr. Daniel Klimek, PhD, powerfully reminds us, this is the week when Jesus gives Himself for the life of the world in total vulnerability. It is the week He institutes the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood, and ultimately, the week He dies to open the gates of Heaven. Yet, amidst the hatred, blasphemy, and violence of the Passion, there were moments of profound mercy. Jesus encountered His Mother, St. Veronica, and St. Simon of Cyrene. These encounters remind us that even in the darkest valley, the Lord allows the light of compassion to shine. The central challenge of this week is a question posed by the homily: Will Jesus see your face on the path of Calvary? Will He receive your embrace? We are called to offer “retroactive consolation.” This profound spiritual truth means that our prayers, sacrifices, and Holy Hours offered today can transcend time and space. They can reach Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane or Mary at the foot of the Cross, offering them comfort in their moments of greatest agony. When the Angel appeared to strengthen Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, part of that consolation was the foreknowledge of your love and your prayers from the 21st century. You can tell Him, “Lord, You do not have to be alone.”Father Daniel urges us to strip away the distractions of the modern age. We must turn off the shining screens, turn away from the false idols of technology, and enter into silence and solitude. This is the time to read the mystical writings in the Church's heritage, such as the works of St. Bridget of Sweden or of Ven. Mary of Agreda, which provide a vivid window into the sufferings of Christ. These texts are not mere stories; they are spiritual maps leading us into the abyss of divine love. While it is easy to be a friend in good times, true intimacy is forged in the fire of suffering. It is in our participation in and commemoration of the abandonment of Gethsemane and the silence of Calvary that we prove our love.If Lent has felt like a failure, treat Holy Week as a clean slate. Do not let the past weigh you down. Instead, stand in spirit with St. John the Apostle, St. Mary Magdalene, and Our Lady at the foot of the Cross. Offer your presence at Mass, at the foot of the altar (which is the foot of the Cross) as a gift. Let your silence speak louder than words. Jesus waits for you in the Garden; Mary waits for you at the Cross. Do not leave them alone. Your presence is the greatest consolation you can offer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. ★ Support this podcast ★

The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/031526.cfmIn the Gospel, Jesus performs the miraculous sign of healing a man born blind, revealing His divine power through supernatural manifestations. Yet even as He demonstrates His identity as God Himself, some Pharisees question His authority, trapped in spiritual blindness despite the divine presence before them. This spiritual blindness persists throughout the centuries. People can stand before the supernatural, the divine, the miraculous — and still doubt. They may see the power of heaven working through prayer, through sacraments, through the intercession of Our Lady, yet choose to reduce it to something lesser.Consider the intellectual arrogance of the Pharisees. They questioned the man who was healed, demanding answers. When he spoke simply—"He is a prophet"—they cast him out, claiming he was born in sin. Their pride prevented them from seeing the truth.God often chooses the humble, the small, the unexpected. David was the youngest son, the least likely to be king. Moses hesitated, claiming he could not speak. Jeremiah resisted, feeling inadequate. Yet God took their smallness and made it a vessel for His grace.Saint John Vianney struggled with Latin in seminary. His classmates doubted him. But the bishop asked: Does he pray? Does he love Our Lady? The answer was yes. And the Lord worked wonders through this man of holy simplicity. This is how the Lord works. What the world values as important is not as important as the holy simplicity of one who desires intimacy with God. David was known as the man after God's own heart—not because he was perfect, but because he had sincerity of heart that kept returning to the Lord.Let us never succumb to spiritual blindness. Let us always see the beautiful presence of God in His miracles and wonders. When Jesus shines in this world, it is often through holy simplicity that leads us to a relationship with God truer than anything of the intellectual realm can bring. ★ Support this podcast ★

The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/031226.cfmFather Daniel Klimek, PhD, addresses the reality of spiritual warfare, explaining that life involves a cosmic battle between the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Hell. Too often, the Gospel is watered down to a horizontal message of kindness, yet Christianity calls believers to a vertical relationship with God that empowers horizontal love. This deeper reality gives life eternal meaning as part of a great epic story, including a long battle between light and darkness.Father Daniel discusses the devil appearing to saints like Padre Pio, John Vianney, and Faustina, wise Christians who saw that praying for others infuriated the enemy and frustrated the designs of hell. Our Lady of Fatima revealed to the three shepherd children a vision of hell, explaining that many souls are lost because no one prays or sacrifices for them. Through prayer, fasting, and the Rosary, the faithful can help Jesus and Mary save souls from the grasp of the demonic.Believers should hope, not merely for mercy on the day of judgment, but to stand before God with thousands of souls saved through their intercession. Our particular jobs or state of life matters less than the universal vocation: Christian discipleship, which is meant to be lived so that we are each a radiant light bringing souls to Heaven. Saint John Vianney heard the devil say, "I hate you, Vianney, because you have taken more than a thousand souls from me."Temptation comes from three sources: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Not every temptation originates from the devil, and using him as a scapegoat is unhealthy. A strong spiritual life — daily prayer, frequent well-prepared reception of the Eucharist, spiritual reading, and custody of the senses — cultivates an interior life within a spiritual fortress that weakens concupiscence (the tendency of our fallen human nature toward sin).Rather than reciting prayers solely at day's end, believers should pray throughout the day. Invoking the sacred names of Jesus and Mary invites their presence. The final words of saints often include these names, showing intimacy with our Lord and Our Lady. Nothing should be done without them. ★ Support this podcast ★

The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/022626.cfmFather  Daniel  Klimek, PhD, challenges us to let the Golden Rule become the litmus test of every relationship. He reminds us that the command “do to others whatever you would have them do to you” is not only the law of the prophets but also a mirror of the contrasting dynamics found in the angelic and demonic hierarchies. In the demonic community, power is exercised through control, abuse and isolation, with stronger demons exploiting the weaker. The angelic community, by contrast, models generosity: The seraphim, nearest to God, receive the deepest experience of divine love and willingly transmit that love to the lower angelic and saintly orders, fostering communion rather than division.Father Daniel invites us to examine our own interactions. Do we, consciously or unconsciously, impose control, emotional abuse, or isolation on others or ourselves? He urges a radical empathy that goes beyond polite respect, asking us to mentally inhabit the other person's suffering, poverty, and woundedness. Such empathy opens the path to forgiveness, because we begin to see our hurt, not as merely an affront to our ego, but as the consequence of another soul bruised by pain.Viewing others through “supernatural eyes,” as Fr. Daniel puts it, means recognizing the inherent human dignity both of ourselves and of our neighbors.  ★ Support this podcast ★

The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/011226.cfmFather Daniel Klimek, PhD reflects on the beginning of Christ's public ministry and the radical call of discipleship. When Jesus calls the first apostles, He does not simply invite admiration, but demands surrender. Peter leaves his nets behind—his livelihood, his security, his safety—to follow Christ. Those nets, Fr. Daniel explains, symbolize the attachments and “safety nets” that often keep us from deeper freedom in God.Discipleship always requires sacrifice. Christ asks for totality, not partial allegiance. “You cannot serve both God and mammon” (Mt 6:24; NABRE). Idols must be broken so that Jesus may take first place in the heart. Yet this surrender is not rooted in fear, but in love. God desires intimacy, the love of a divine Bridegroom who wants the whole heart of His beloved.Father Daniel reminds us that true discipleship is not merely intellectual. The apostles were transformed because they spent time with Jesus—resting in His presence, listening, and being sanctified by Him. That same presence remains with us today in the Holy Eucharist. In Eucharistic adoration, Christ heals anxiety, grants supernatural peace, and draws souls into deeper friendship with Him.Even fatigue before the Blessed Sacrament is not wasted. Resting in Christ's presence is still prayer. As Scripture assures us, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28; NABRE). Time given to Jesus is never lost—it is the sacrifice that forms true disciples. To grow in understanding of how Christ works through the Sacraments, explore Understanding the Sacraments, available at ShopMercy.org. The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/122225.cfmFather Daniel Klimek, MIC confronts a growing indifference toward the Blessed Virgin Mary—even among Catholics—and reminds us that authentic Christianity is always Marian. The words of the Magnificat are not poetic exaggeration; they are divinely inspired truth: “From now on will all ages call me blessed.” (Lk 1:48; NABRE). Reverence for Mary is not optional sentiment—it is a biblical directive.Mary's song echoes the praise of Miriam in the Old Testament, yet now the liberation announced is not political, but eternal. Through the womb of the Virgin, Christ enters the world. She becomes the Ark of the New Covenant, bearing not the law written on stone, but the Word made flesh. To diminish her role is to misunderstand the Incarnation itself.Father Daniel warns that indifference toward Mary is one of the most subtle spiritual dangers of our time. When Marian devotion is reduced to a “personal spirituality,” something essential is lost. From the Cross, Jesus entrusted His Mother to the beloved disciple—and in him, to every Christian: “Behold, your mother” (Jn 19:27; NABRE). This was not symbolic poetry; it was a sacred investiture. To honor Mary never detracts from Christ. As the saints affirm, devotion to the Mother always leads more deeply to the Son. The Immaculate Heart is inseparably united to the Sacred Heart. When we receive Mary into our spiritual life, as St. John did, our faith becomes more profound, more biblical, and more fully Catholic.Mary is not an accessory to the Gospel. She is at its heart. To receive her is to receive one of Christ's final gifts from the Cross—a Mother who intercedes, protects, and leads us unfailingly to Him. ★ Support this podcast ★

The original post here on the blog has a bad link to the mp3 so I wanted to post it her as well. It's interesting to see the artists that I was listening to at the time. Such as Freescha, Svalastog, Yellow 6, Klimek, and the track by Clint Mansell from the soundtrack to The Fountain, which I was absolutely obsessed with for a few years. The Scripture readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/120525.cfmTo encounter Christ is to encounter the One who heals—physically, spiritually, supernaturally. Today's Gospel reminds us that miracles are not mythology but reality. Two blind men cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on us.” Their plea becomes the seed of what the Church would later cherish as the Jesus Prayer—“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”The Fathers of the Church teach us that Scripture works on multiple levels. Historically, the miracle happened. Allegorically, the story unveils the drama of the spiritual life. We, too, are often blind—moving through seasons of darkness, dryness, and desolation. St. John of the Cross calls this the “dark night of the senses,” a purification God permits so that we learn fidelity beyond feelings.Yet God does not leave the faithful in darkness. For those who persevere, He leads them into illumination, contemplation, even the grace of infused prayer—where, as St. Teresa of Avila describes, the soul is “invaded by the supernatural.” Prayer shifts from something we do to something God does in us.This is the heart of the Jesus Prayer. Slowly, reverently, breathed in rhythm with the heart, the soul becomes accustomed to the presence of Jesus. The Eastern saints tell us that one can reach the place where even in sleep the heart continues to pray. This is our call: not merely to “say prayers,” but to become prayer. To carry Jesus in every breath. To let His name shape our thoughts, our conversations, our interior life. When we invoke His Holy Name, He draws near—because He desires intimate communion with us.To go deeper in your spiritual life, visit DivineMercyPlus.org, our free, ad-free Catholic streaming platform. The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/120125.cfmIn today's homily, Fr. Daniel offers a challenging but deeply Catholic truth: salvation belongs to Christ alone, yet His grace reaches far wider than we often imagine. Jesus praises the faith of the pagan centurion, teaching that many from east and west will recline with Abraham in the Kingdom (cf. Mt 8:11). This isn't sentimental pluralism—it's the mystery of a God whose grace cannot be confined, even as He has entrusted the fullness of truth to His Church. The Catechism affirms that the Church possesses the “fullness of the means of salvation” (CCC 816), yet also acknowledges that elements of truth and goodness in other religions ultimately come from Christ, the one Way, Truth, and Life (Jn 14:6). As St. John Paul II taught, actual graces can move any soul toward virtue, awakening the conscience and preparing the heart for deeper conversion. But this does not lessen our missionary call. Every person deserves the fullness of truth—the sacraments, the Eucharist, the tender strength of Our Lady, and the saving intimacy of Jesus Christ. “Go, therefore, and make disciples” remains a command of love. And as Fr. Daniel reminds us, judgment considers not only what we have done, but what we have been given. Those who reject the Gospel after receiving much will be accountable for more.In the end, God's mercy is vast, but truth is not relative. Christ alone saves, Christ alone is divine, and Christ alone conquered death. Yet His grace works tirelessly—even in hidden places—to draw every heart toward Himself. May we cherish the fullness we've received, evangelize with zeal, and trust that God never ceases reaching for His children, from every nation, religion, and corner of the earth.#marian #marians #marianfathers #marianhelpers #divinemercy #thedivinemercy #catholic #catholicism #romancatholic #romancatholicism #frdaniel #catholictiktok #homily #dailyhomily #gospelreflection #catholictruth #salvation #evangelization #jesuschrist #eucharist #catholicchurch ★ Support this podcast ★

The Book of Wisdom reminds us that creation itself reveals the divine Artist, yet humanity so often stops at the art and forgets the Artist. St. Paul echoes this in Romans 1:20, teaching that God's truth is visible through nature, leaving us “without excuse.” Natural law is not an invention of the Church but a reflection of the Creator's design — especially in matters of human love, complementarity, and moral responsibility.Fr. Daniel speaks with pastoral clarity about the dangers of confusing compassion with affirmation of sin. Scripture, natural law, and the Catechism all reveal that true love always leads toward conversion, never toward conformity with what wounds the human soul. The sacraments themselves presuppose repentance — “Repent!” was the first word of John the Baptist's call (Mt 3:2). Christ's mercy heals, but it never excuses. He tells every soul: “Go and sin no more” (Jn 8:11).The priesthood exists to guard the flock, not to bless the wounds the Gospel came to heal. When clergy publicly celebrate lifestyles contrary to the teachings of Christ, they risk leading souls away from salvation rather than toward it. A shepherd who refuses to warn of the wolf is not merciful — he is negligent. A spiritual doctor who hides the truth of the disease is not kind — he is cruel. The Church does not reject persons; she rejects the lie that sin can coexist with holiness. Every person — regardless of attraction or struggle — is infinitely loved by God and called to purity, which is the expression of authentic love. Christ does not say “Be yourself,” but “Be made new” (2 Cor 5:17). He does not say “Follow your desires,” but “Follow Me.”Pray today for priests: that they may preach with apostolic boldness, charity rooted in truth, and fidelity to Christ's teachings. And pray for all who struggle with sexual sin, that they may encounter not false affirmation but true liberation in Jesus Christ, who alone has the power to heal, transform, and set every soul free. ★ Support this podcast ★

Fr Daniel shares the journey of his own Marian spirituality, offering personal reflections that reveal how true devotion to Our Lady always leads us closer to Jesus. Daniel Klimek brings to life the thought of Pope St. John Paul II, St. John of the Cross, St. Josemaría Escrivá, St. Faustina Kowalska, and mystics such as Venerable Maria of Ágreda and Caryll Houselander, uncovering little-known spiritual treasures that will enrich the prayer and reflection of all.

For at least the past 200 years or so, there's been a lot of debate about women and the role we're supposed to play in society. Historically, we've been expected to be the nurturers, the caregivers—the gentler sex, as we used to be called. We cook the food, we nurse the sick, we mind the children. Some of us are perfectly content in that role. But all throughout history, there have also been women who've chafed against these expectations. Some of them rebelled in a healthy, heroic way—fighting for women's right to vote, to manage our own money, to pursue careers. And some have rebelled in a darker, more toxic way, using the very tools of stereotypical womanhood—food and drink—to commit the deadliest crimes. Today we'll tell you about two of those women. Case 1: Tillie Klimek. Case 2: The Marquise de Brinvilliers.Join Katie and Whitney, plus the hosts of Last Podcast on the Left, Sinisterhood, and Scared to Death, on the very first CRIMEWAVE true crime cruise! In this Brand Story episode, hosts Marco and Sean have a thought-provoking discussion with Peter Klimek from Imperva about the concept of "shift left" in application security. Have we gone too far?The conversation revolves around the challenges and benefits of identifying vulnerabilities earlier in the software development lifecycle and the need for collaboration between development and security teams. Peter emphasizes the importance of finding a balance between tools and human expertise in addressing vulnerabilities. He highlights the common issue of organizations having a backlog of vulnerabilities that need to be fixed, rather than a problem of finding vulnerabilities—it's "easy" to find them, harder to fix them all.The conversation also touches on the measurement of closure velocity and the significance of development team velocity as a core metric in application security. They discuss the role of APIs, platform engineering, and infrastructure as code in improving collaboration, automation, and trust in systems.Peter draws a parallel between guardrails on a highway and the need for guardrails in application security, emphasizing the importance of providing development teams with time to address critical vulnerabilities. They also explore the challenges of coordinating multiple teams and the role of operations in orchestrating the development and security processes. The need for a defensive mindset and the importance of leveraging the guardrails Peter noted to prevent fatal vulnerabilities is also discussed as they emphasize the significance of collaboration, measurement, and a balance between development and security teams in implementing shift left practices effectively. The episode provides valuable insights into the nuances, challenges, and benefits of integrating shift left practices into application security, while emphasizing the need for collaboration, balance, and the ethical use of tools.Note: This story contains promotional content. Learn more.Guest: Peter Klimek, Director of Technology - Office of the CTO at Imperva [@Imperva]On LinkedIn | https://www.linkedin.com/in/peter-klimek-37588962/ResourcesLearn more about Imperva and their offering: https://itspm.ag/imperva277117988DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA): https://dora.dev2023 Imperva Bad Bot Report: https://itspm.ag/impervv0sg47.4% of internet traffic wasn't human in 2022! His NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) preparation courses have helped thousands of students at Cedarville, across the country, and around the world to pass the test to become registered nurses. This tremendous legacy began in Youngstown, Ohio. Mark's dad counseled his son to find a career where he would have job security, and the Lord has provided. He has served well in a number of nursing roles, but for the majority of his career, as an associate professor at the school where he long aspired to serve. But for Mark, it isn't about security, but about the one who provides security – the Lord Jesus. As a practicing nurse, he had the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to be the listening ear of Jesus, and to be a proclaimer of the good news of Jesus. As a professor, he has influenced hundreds of Cedarville nursing graduates to view their career as a way to glorify the Lord.“What better profession could I show Christ in?” Mark shares during the podcast. “If you go through Christ's life, what did He do? He fed people. We do that as nurses. He gave them something to drink. He talked to them about their fears and anxieties. He quieted them; He calmed them. He sat with them. He rejoiced with them. He cried with them. He laughed with them. Nurses do that all the time. And we get to work with the greatest machine designed by the greatest Creator ever.”Listen to Mark share his story on the Cedarville Stories Podcast.
