As a mother of two, without a village, Linette slowly lost control of her purpose.   Through self-discovery, moving back home, and psychotherapy, Linette was able to find her footing again. Raising multicultural children, Linette's goal is to build community and empower women through photography to see and be the best version of themselves. Her journey has been both inspiring and uplifting, and we're excited to hear all about it.   Linette is also getting ready to launch her own podcast this year around self value within us and becoming a mental health ally to empower others to get the tools they need in their mental health journey.   So, let's get started and hear from Linette herself about her experiences as a mother, a photographer, and creative director. Today, Chicago Latina Moms (www.chicagolatinamoms.com) is a non profit organization dedicated to empowering, uplifting, and celebrating the Latina mother with an online community of over four thousand members.  We talk about the guilt of being a mom, the struggle, the isolation,  but the Chicago Latina Mom space is  for all moms and she wants to remember that "no estas sola"! Isabel has also served families as a birth and postpartum doula as La Luna Doula since 2016 and is part of citywide efforts to improve Chicago maternal and child health. Additionally, Vanessa shared with us about her biracial relationship with her husband and how that also shapes how she is raising her daughter, in particular with Latin American aspects such as language and culture. Naturally, we also spoke about what it means to be a Latina mother and how we are raising our daughters in a different way than we were also raised while acknowledging the strong influences that our mothers have upon our journeys within motherhood.  Episode's Blog Post http://vidawithchristie.com/2021/06/29/episode-24-how-our-mothers-influence-our-parenting-journey/ Connect With Me Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VidaWithChristie/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/VidaWithChristie/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/VWCpodcast/

Hey Girl, I felt it in my heart to bring you a word of encouragement. Are you an hija who grew up without a mom, and feel like you missed out. Do you feel like less of a mujer/woman because you didn't have that mother figure in your life? You didn't have a role model to teach you and nurture you. I can relate to that, because after I was 11 I lived with my dad. I had a big hole in my life, and felt like I would never have that special mother daughter relationship. Now that I have a daughter, I see how beautiful a truly special it is. I get to have what I didn't have so many years ago. I want to encourage you on this bonus episode that no matter if you didn't have that, God will bless you. SO to the Motherless Daughter, please know that you are loved and you are so worthy.
