MONSTER PARTY WANTS TO DECK YOU IN YOUR HALLS! JAMES GONIS, SHAWN SHERIDAN, LARRY STROTHE, and MATT WEINHOLD invite you once again to experience a series of cage matches in our audio octagon. But this time, these fights of fancy have a seasonal sting! Can your headphone-bruised cauliflower ears stand the Christmassy carnage that is… WHO WOULD WIN? VOL. 8: THE WINTER EDITION!!! If this is your first time attending a WHO WOULD WIN? event, the rules are quite simple: We choose horror/sci-fi/fantasy characters to enter a room, stage a fictitious battle for their lives and debate who would leave the victor. It's pretty much the type of game you used to play in the schoolyard, only this one doesn't leave you with dodgeball-induced internal injuries. We've done many of these episodes in the past, and they're always a ton of fun. But for this round, we decided that the timing necessitated a winter twist. We're including at least one character from a holiday-themed film, TV show, book, or legend for each of our fictional bouts. Expect an exotic range of fruitcake-fueled fighters plucked from Star Wars, Rankin Bass, Disney Animation, The Peanuts, The Twilight Zone, cult horror, holiday folklore, and more! Who will win? Who will lose? And how do you get elf blood out of a carpet? Joining us to cheer on these winter wonderland warriors, is a return guest who is also a MONSTER PARTY benefactor! He's a RONDO AWARD-WINNING writer, producer, actor, host, podcaster, and voice artist, who also happens to be the founder of BIF! BANG POW! TOYS! So, if you are a PATREON member who has ever ordered merch, you probably own something he helped create. Please welcome back the non-stop delight that is… JASON LENZI! (POD STALLIONS, PLASTIC SOUL: THE ENTERTAINMENT EARTH POP CULTURE SHOW, A DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE, IN SEARCH OF TOMORROW, LIFE AFTER FLASH, CANNONBALL, BANDS REUNITED, BEAT THE GEEKS) YOU GOT TO FIGHT! FOR YOUR RIGHT! FOR HOLLY!!!!
One of my favorite episodes I've done of Movie House is one that you'll likely never hear the full version of: a six-minute take on the documentary Life After Flash.
In this episode Stuart is joined by Filmmaker Lisa Downs to talk about her latest doc Life After The Neverending Story, and its upcoming premier at The Neverending Fantasy Con which is being held in London (May 31st-June 2nd) Joining Lisa and Stuart on this chat is Zay who is the event organiser for The Neverending Fantasy Con. Join them as they take a trip down nostalgia lane and share their thoughts on perhaps the greatest fantasy decade. You can learn more about the event (including ticket info) here https://www.neverendingfantasycon.com/ You can check out Lisa's official site featuring information (and a shop) about Life After Flash, Life After The Navigator, and much more. https://www.lifeaftermovies.com/ If you like what I do here at frompage2screen.com, perhaps you can buy me a 'coffee' at https://ko-fi.com/frompage2screen All money goes toward the running of the site as well as expanding its content. Fans of movies will agree this is one and people who look at Tom Holland will undoubtedly see him in this film, so come and enjoy 2008's movie of the year: Uncharted! And since that doesn't last long we also talk about Attack the Block, I Care A Lot, Ramenheads, and Life After Flash.
MAY THE QUOTE BE WITH YOU! JAMES GONIS, SHAWN SHERIDAN, LARRY STROTHE, and MATT WEINHOLD, dive deep into their massive film libraries, to mine some the strangest sayings ever to be uttered in speculative fiction. Following in the frightful footsteps of our HORROR MOVIE QUOTES episode, MONSTER PARTY brings you a galaxy- spanning glossary that we've scientifically titled... SCI-FI MOVIE QUOTES!!! If you remember HORROR MOVIE QUOTES (with the lovely and charming KEN DALY), you know the drill. We all present quotes from well known (at least to us) science fiction films, and the rest of us try to guess what that film is. And if you think this was easy, think again. You'd be surprised at how a line taken out of context can confound even the most hardcore movie brainiac. Or maybe not! Maybe you're one of those special genre mutants, able to identify a sci-fi quote with your Cerebro-esque noodle. If so, we hope you use your powers for good. For this episode, we needed a guest with a vast knowledge of fantastic films that matched our own...well almost. He's a celebrated actor, producer, podcaster, voice artist, and friend of the show, who just happens to be the founder of BIF BANG POW! TOYS. Yep, we got our PATREON sugar daddy! Please welcome back... JASON LENZI! (POD STALLIONS, LIFE AFTER FLASH, IN SEARCH OF TOMORROW, CANNONBALL, WIPEOUT, AND ONE MORE TIME... BIF BANG POW! TOYS!!!) ONCE AGAIN, MONSTER PARTY PRESENTS A GAME THAT YOU CAN PLAY ALONG WITH AT HOME! AND AS USUAL, CLOTHING IS OPTIONAL.

With the debut of Loki, we decided to get a jump on our predictions by actually going off rumors and fan theories that were available prior to the first episode streaming on June 9th. So, in time-tested fashion, we'll be going through them all and deciding whether they're The Real or The Jabroni. All that and a heaping helping of Marvel, DC, WWE, and Star Wars news as well. Lisa Downs' is a filmmaker with a unique take on how to look back on classic films. Her 2017 documentary, Life After Flash was a brilliant insight into the film Flash Gordon and its lead actor Sam J. Jones, while 2020's Life After The Navigator looked at another beloved '80s sci-fi film, Flight of the Navigator and the rollercoaster life of its young star Joey Cramer. Far from being mere nostalgic looks at classic films, her documentaries have a heartfelt core, which profile the stars of the movies and their complex lives. It's just just features - you can discover more on her Life After YouTube Web Show which features interviews, competitions and a lot more. On this show Lisa talks about three very different films which mean something special to her - the 1989 comedy Dream A Little Dream starring the two Coreys - Corey Haim and Coery Feldman, 2015 financial drama, The Big Short and the Hollywood classic, Giant starring James Dean.
This month we talk to filmmaker Lisa Downs about her awesome documentaries on Flash Gordon, Flight of the Navigator and the inspiring personal journeys of their iconic stars. Join us as we geek out over 80s movies, the magic of Brian Blessed, playing Flash Gordon pinball with Brian May and just how incredibly cool Howard Hesseman really is. Then Lisa takes the honorary guest co-host chair as we all discuss our favorite documentaries about the movie industry. Plus plenty of bonus Corey Haim content! Connect with Lisa at lifeaftermovies.com and Life After Movies Presents The Web Show on youtube!
I chat to Life After Movies Director and Producer, Lisa Downs. We chat about Life After Flash, starring Flash Gordon himself Sam Jones as well her Life After The Navigator documentary with Joey Cramer, that is currently available on Amazon Prime. We look back on what she has learnt about creating and filming a documentary, how this process has evolved and what she has planned for her new documentary currently in the works, Life After Atreyu, chronicling the journey of Atreyu actor Noah Hathaway and his journey from Atreyu to now. This is an excellent insight into the mind of a brilliant documentary maker, the trials and tribulations of the process, but the sweet feeling of success at the end.

Ok, let’s try this again. This week the Regular hosts, plus adjunct Joe Derryl DePriest take a look at another of Barry’s long-time sentimental favorite films Flash Gordon (1980). In what might seem a set up doomed to repeat “The Willow incident” the gang actually find several things they like about the film ... in addition to the several aspects they did not so much go for. It’s all good. The relative merits of Flash Gordon aside, they all love Sam Jones. As Everyone should. Particularly those who have seen Life After Flash the 2017 documentary (currently available on Amazon Prime) that both gives insights into the cult classic film and an overview of Sam’s often tumultuous journey following his early brush with fame. Following the episode is The Regular Joes 2017 interview with Sam Jones ... which at times can easily be confused with Sam interviewing them. Seriously, if you get the chance you have to hang out with this guy. Along the way the Green Power Ranger shows up (nope, not making this up) and they get a a few minutes to chat with Flash Gordon CoStar Melody Anderson. Thanks for Listening! Flash! Ah-ah, Savior of the universe. Flash! Ah-ah, He'll save everyone of us …
