Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL-6) joins the Rundown to discuss the ongoing military campaign in Israel, why he voted against further aid to Ukraine, and the Biden administration's messaging on anti-Israel protesters. Fast fashion is all the rage these days. And why not? Cheap, trendy clothing made fast seems perfect for young shoppers who are on a tight budget, but always want to wear something new. The Big Fani Willis Hearing con't, NYC is going to suffer, Jim Biden, Sullivan and FISA along with Five Eyes

The Alan Sanders Show

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 20, 2024 70:01

Today opens with a little more talk and analysis of the Big Fani Willis Evidentiary Hearing, including some thoughts from Harvard professor and long-time Constitutional scholar and attorney, Alan Dershowitz. He already believes Nathan Wade committed perjury on the stand and says it's reasonable to also conclude Fani Willis did as well. What he added, interestingly, is when their team decided to go on the “all cash” defense, he said it immediately shifts the burden on them to prove that. Needless to say, they have yet to be able to come up with a shred of proof that Fani Willis paid Nathan Wade back for all of their trips and luxuries. To close up the first topic, I turn to my good buddy, comedian Jim Gossett who penned a version of Making Whoopee just for this occasion. Kevin O'Leary discussed the NYC fraud ruling against Donald Trump on figuratively nuked the state of New York. He made a beautiful case for how Governor Kathy Hochul has just tanked investment in New York and New York City for a long time to come. He literally called them a Mega Loser State. Looking back over the weekend shows, I play a compilation of quotes from Biden allies who all got the email with the suggested talking points about his memory. A montage of dozens of Democrats and talking heads reveals they were to use “sharp”, “on top of it”, “at the top of his game”, “focused”, “smart”, “on the ball”, etc. Over the weekend, Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) on the Foreign Affairs Committee revealed that a number of companies on the stock exchange are actually fronts for Chinese Communist Party controlled entities. Biden and the Democrats don't seem concerned and when asked, Waltz went so far as to say that's what happens when Biden and members of his family are beholden to the Chinese for their business dealings. Also breaking over the weekend, in a story from Politico of all places, it seems Jim Biden used Joe's name to help push a medical service provider called Americore. At one point, three other Biden family members were given jobs there. Now it seems Americore is being accused of committing over $100 million in fraud against Medicare. Why is it the Biden Crime Family always seems to be doing business with companies that are being investigated, are corrupt or go bankrupt? George Papadopoulos was on with Maria Bartiromo to talk about the confirmation about the Five Eyes, the 2016 Russia Collusion hoax and the issues we now face with the intelligence agencies, especially in light of a request by the Administration for FISA renewal. Before we get to FISA, a reminder that our current National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, was part of the Hillary Clinton campaign and new it was a hoax but went along with it anyway. And now he wants FISA renewed without a new request from lawmakers that the government should have to get a warrant to spy on Americans. Finally, Liz Cheney wants us to believe that Trump is still a Russian stooge. In fact, she has invented a new terms to use to scare people leading up to the 2024 election. She said Trump represents the “Putin Wing of the Republican Party.” It's such an audacious lie they keep telling. But, isn't that what Joseph Goebbels taught us about propaganda? On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis testified in court and made it clear that she is a nutjob without the temperament or intelligence to uphold justice. This has turned into an IRS, FBI-level potential criminal case involving the use and abuse of taxpayer funds and failure to report various uses of piles of cash. Meanwhile, Donald Trump was in court in Manhattan involving standard nondisclosure agreements, but it is smeared as “hush money” by the Democrat media. Not a single of the 91 charges against Trump should have ever been brought, from the ballot denial case to the immunity ruling from the D.C. circuit panel. President Biden has been directly involved in several of the Trump cases, all to use Democrat judges, prosecutors, and jury pools to convict Trump and elect Biden. Also, Israel is now fighting a two-front war for its survival – one against Hamas and Iran-backed terror groups, and the other against the Biden Administration. Biden and his surrogates like Antony Blinken are betraying Israel and using the U.S. government to undermine their existence. Later, Mark speaks with Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL) about the national security threats of the Biden administration and threats posed by Iran and Russia. Finally, Mark is joined by Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) to talk about the necessity of getting rid of Mitch McConnell, because he is an awful leader who has Republicans in a position where if they do not pass the outrageous border bill it will look bad. Earlier this week, Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL) joined host Dave Anthony to discuss why he thought backing Ukraine remains in America's interest, but also laid out why the war-torn country cannot simply receive a blank check. Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL) joins the Rundown to discuss why he believes aid responsibilities should not only fall to the United States and why the White House needs to change its policies regarding the Houthis attacks in the Red Sea. During an interview with CTV News, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau—son of Pierre Trudeau and definitely not Fidel Castro's son—referred to protestors who objected to mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations as tin foil hat conspiracy theorists. According to a report from Brandon Drey of The Daily Wire, “[m]ajor fast-food chains like White Castle and Chipotle have started employing restaurant robots as labor shortages continue to impact the industry while the price of food increases in the aftermath of COVID and crippling inflation.” Appearing on Fox News, Rep. The presumptive next Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, fell well short of the 218 needed on both the fourth and fifth ballots—garnering less support on votes four and five than he had received on vote one yesterday. 3:10pm- Speaking to reporters outside the Capitol, Rep. Byron Donalds stated that he “didn't come to D.C. being interested in becoming Speaker of the House.” On votes four and five, Donalds consistently received 20 votes to become Speaker. 3:30pm- Prior to the 6th vote to decide the House Speakership, Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) nominated Byron Donalds (R-FL) to the Speakership.  3:45pm- While on the House floor, Rep. Lauren Boebert implored fellow Republicans to vote for Byron Donalds and asked former President Donald Trump to rescind his support for Kevin McCarthy. 4:05pm- Speakership Vote #6: Kevin McCarthy has once again failed to get the 218 votes necessary to become Speaker of the House. Is it time for the Republican party to rally around a new candidate?  4:10pm- Twitter Files Part 11: On Tuesday, investigative journalist Matt Taibbi released another series of Twitter files—this time documenting why the social media company allowed the intelligence community to suppress and moderate content, specifically references to a lab leak theory as the origins of COVID-19. 4:30pm- The House of Representatives has adjourned until 8pm ET after six failed attempts to select a new Speaker.  4:45pm- The Centers for Disease Control tweeted: “The best defense is a good offense! Defend yourself against blood clots…” Rich can't remember government agencies ever issuing blood clot warnings for young athletes in the past.  4:55pm- After six failed votes to determine a Speaker of the House, are more Republicans willing to defect from Kevin McCarthy? 5:00pm- While appearing on The Guy Benson Show, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said “we cannot let the terrorist win”—referring to the twenty Republicans refusing to vote for Kevin McCarthy for House Speaker.  5:10pm- While on MSNBC, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested that Democrats may be open to a “coalition government” if Kevin McCarthy were to approach Democrats for help with the House Speakership vote.  5:30pm- During an interview with CTV News, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau—son of Pierre Trudeau and definitely not Fidel Castro's son—referred to protestors who objected to mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations as tin foil hat conspiracy theorists. 5:45pm- According to a report from Brandon Drey of The Daily Wire, “[m]ajor fast-food chains like White Castle and Chipotle have started employing restaurant robots as labor shortages continue to impact the industry while the price of food increases in the aftermath of COVID and crippling inflation.” 6:05pm- Appearing on Fox News, Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) claimed that Democrats are laughing at Republicans for failing to select a House Speaker. 6:15pm- On 60 Minutes, Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich warned of an unavoidable “mass extinction.” Despite CBS' alarmist report, Ehrlich's credibility is questionable. In the 1970's he famously warned that overpopulation would cause mass starvation and chaos. In response to Ehrlich's most recent claims, investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger called the report “apocalyptic pseudoscience.”

Hour 1 -  Good Thursday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Former House Speaker Paul Ryan says Trump could lose to President Biden in a 2024 matchup. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., on Wednesday won re-election as Senate GOP leader. On Wednesday's broadcast of the Fox News Channel's “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) said that Republicans can succeed with mail-in voting that has integrity and need to figure out how to work the voting laws in blue states and “fight on that battlefield and how to get our rural and our senior citizens and our other voters, with integrity, to vote as much as possible.” A women's volleyball team at a small, historically Black college withdrew from their conference tournament in Alabama after a member was subjected to racial abuse during an awards banquet. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D., Ga.) on Sunday said people who criticize his church for evicting residents from its low-income apartment building "attack the church of Jesus Christ" and are motivated by the "rulers of the darkness of this world."

North Carolina has been a target for Democrats this election cycle, with Democratic Senate candidate Cheri Beasley out fundraising and outspending her Republican opponent, Congressman Ted Budd, seeking to flip this seat blue. While the Beasley campaign pushes to sway voters in the state, Budd has consistently outpolled Beasley throughout the race, suggesting he may have a slight edge in the election to replace retiring Republican Senator Richard Burr. GOP Congressman Ted Budd of North Carolina's 13th District joins to explain how he sees inflation severely hurting his constituents ahead of the midterms, how he would address rising crime by supporting border control and law enforcement, and he later shares why he believes his America-first campaign is resonating with voters.   In a speech he gave last weekend, Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed that he would not rule out the reunification of Taiwan by force, suggesting Beijing will speed up plans to annex the island. Taiwan currently recognizes itself as independent from China with its own government and military. Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL) recently returned from a trip to Taiwan and voiced concerns that the United States is running out of time to deter a Chinese invasion. Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) was also a part of that trip and joins the Rundown to discuss China's threat to national security, and why he believes Taiwan could be the next Ukraine.   Plus, commentary by author of "Charade: The Covid Lies That Crushed A Nation," David Marcus.   Learn more about your ad choices. The process of the U.S. evacuation from Afghanistan is under deeper scrutiny after a Congressional memo from Senate Republicans cited allegations  that the Biden administration has only vetted a small portion of the 82,000 refugees brought into the U.S. Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL), an Afghanistan War veteran,  joins to break down why he believes a rushed evacuation has resulted in a weakened vetting process and to discuss the importance of slowing down the vetting to prevent compromising national security. He later discusses the threat ISIS-K and al-Qaeda pose to the U.S., how the loss of our intelligence operations in that region create vulnerabilities and why he believes Afghanistan is an issue that is here to s stay.   Bail Reform is a growing movement especially with many on the left. Advocates argue many poor people cannot afford to pay bail after they are arrested and wind up serving days, weeks and sometimes even years for a crime they have yet to be convicted of. Critics, however, say bail reform and low bails are releasing dangerous criminals too soon and putting communities in danger.  Jim Trusty, a former federal prosecutor, discusses the bail reform debate and how states and cities can address the problems of the bail system without releasing dangerous people.   Plus, commentary from FOX News Contributor Liz Peek

This is something lawmakers in Washington have been attempting for decades, but with zero results. On the FOX News Rundown earlier this week, host Jessica Rosenthal spoke to Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) about the current crisis at the border, what the Biden Administration can do differently and why Republicans and Democrats can never make a deal on immigration despite there being apparent common ground on some issues. The interview was too long and we could not include it all in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire interview with Rep. Waltz. In this extended version, Rep. Waltz had a dire warning about China, calling the nation "the existential threat of our time."  He says China is using its access to rare and critical minerals as leverage against the U.S. and could make it harder for Americans to manufacture things as vital as ammunition. This is something the Republican congressman sees as a national security threat.

The President has been met with increased criticism by Republicans for the "crisis" at the southern border and surging of migrant crossings. Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) weighs in on the situation at the border, President Biden's immigration proposal and why you can't address amnesty without securing the border first. On Friday, April 30th the Senate Intelligence Committee announced it would be investigating the mysterious energy attacks that gained attention in late 2016 when U.S. diplomats in Cuba experienced severe medical conditions as a result of suspected sonic attacks. Fox News National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin joins to discuss this pattern of mysterious energy attacks against U.S. diplomats and intelligence agents, what technology could be causing these events and which foreign adversaries are likely suspects. Plus, commentary by Jimmy Failla, host of "Fox Across America."
