Bus driver Ross Munns has disputed Virginia Giuffre's account of the March 24, 2025, collision in Neergabby, Western Australia. Munns stated that he was overtaking a slow-moving Toyota Highlander when it unexpectedly turned in front of him, resulting in a minor collision that damaged the car's tail light. He emphasized that he was traveling below 75 km/h, contrary to Giuffre's claim that the bus was moving at 110 km/h. After ensuring the 71-year-old driver was unharmed, they exchanged details, and both vehicles departed the scene. Munns reported the incident to the police the following day, describing it as minor.Munns expressed surprise upon seeing Giuffre's subsequent Instagram post, which depicted her with facial bruises and stated she was in renal failure with only four days to live. He questioned the severity of her injuries, asserting that such harm could not have resulted from the minor collision. Gene and cohost Tim Swartz present film makeup artist and creature maker William Munns. He has been fascinated all his life with cryptozoology, and in particular, Bigfoot, because of his work in films and with real apes. The most famous single piece of filmed material purported to be a Bigfoot is the Patterson-Gimlin film taken in 1967, and in the last 40 years, there has been an ongoing and still unresolved debate about whether the female figure seen in the film is a real primate of unknown species, or an ordinary human being wearing a fur suit. William put his research into a 2014 book called "When Roger Met Patty," which details his analysis of the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film, addressing the question of hoax or fraud from the perspective of a professional makeup and creature effects designer, as well as the perspective of a vintage filmmaker. He started as a movie makeup artist when he was 20, and quickly gravitated toward the "creature" side of the field, doing prosthetics, masks, and makeup effects. William perfected doing film makeup and creatures were exacting in their nature, the kind of skills necessary for very realistic figures. He chose to expand his artistic range by applying the ultra-realistic techniques of film prosthetic work to the scientific discipline of reconstructing prehistoric creatures from fossil records, as well as exploring a new form of wildlife art, whereby living creatures were recreated with the highest museum taxidermy quality appearance, but without having to rely upon the skin, hide, fur or other remains of a dead animal to make the figure.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-paracast-the-gold-standard-of-paranormal-radio--6203433/support.

In this episode, we sit down with James Munns, a seasoned firefighter who tells the incredible story of saving the life of a woman who nearly drowned in her car and many others as well. James's humility and reluctance to accept the title of "hero" provide a deep insight into the challenges faced by those in his line of work. Beyond the heroic deeds, this episode delves into the often-overlooked aspects of being a firefighter: the loneliness, the stress, and the emotional toll. James opens up about the difficulties first responders face daily and shares his thoughts on stress and stress tolerance. We also focus on the importance of vulnerability and the courage it takes to change oneself, especially in a profession where asking for help can be stigmatized. Join us as we discuss how embracing vulnerability and seeking support can build stronger connections among first responders and improve overall mental health. James's story is a powerful reminder that true courage lies not just in saving others, but in taking steps to care for oneself. Robert Munns, CEO of sailing charity Oceans of Hope UK, left the graft and glamour of West End theatre for a life on the seas. He'd not long had a shock diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis when a chance encounter in a harbour changed the course of his future. Rob and Lisa talk West End theatre's transformation, working with Madonna, happy days sailing the Med, the ‘raw shock' of his diagnosis, the physical and emotional enormity of sailing across the Pacific (with or without MS!), committing to life again, watching other MS sufferers transform with sailing and how making conscious decisions (along with the more ‘floaty' subconscious ones) can help us through even the most challenging of times. When you visit the Oceans of Hope U.K. website, it reads, "Oceans of Hope is for people with MS, led by people with MS." It goes on to say, "Our aim is to offer people from all over the world the opportunity to experience sailing as a way of learning new skills and restoring the self-confidence which can be stolen by MS." The folks at Oceans of Hope U.K. can make that claim with high confidence. My guest today is the founder of Oceans of Hope U.K., Robert Munns, who lives with MS himself. Robert's story is one you won't want to miss. Today, Oceans of Hope U.K. offers anyone living with MS the opportunity to experience that same personal transformation that Robert experienced. This is the fifth episode of our Move Your Mind limited construction series. We will be interviewing a range of people from the industry and having conversations around the state of mental health in the industry.Australia loses one construction worker every two days to suicide & more than 20% of the construction industry are shown to have had a mental health condition. These figures are made even more compelling as it is an industry that employs 10% of the working population. We feel this podcast will play an important role in creating conversations and awareness. MATES is a charity established in 2008 to reduce the high level of suicide among Australian construction workers. MATES provides suicide prevention through community development programs on sites, and by supporting workers in need through case management and a 24/7 help line. We serve the construction industry in Queensland and Northern Territory, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, the Energy industry in Queensland and New South Wales, and nationally to the Mining industry. MATES was established in response to a major report on suicide (the ‘AISRAP Report') within the Queensland Commercial Building and Construction Industry. This report found that suicide rates in the industry were higher than the Australian average for men, and that youth suicide within the industry could be as much as 2.38 times more common than among other young Australian men.You can learn more about Mates in Construction here: https://mates.org.au/...Thanks for listening! Barangaroo from the air Photo: Infrastructure NSW, Barangaroo from the air in this early Aerial 2015 Moving through the gardens, we come across the Burrawang steps which are positioned at one of the entrances. Burrawang is the aboriginal name for a local Cycad plant which was known as a poisonous plant known to the local people who knew how to extract the poison. The plant was used to make starch which involved soaking it in saltwater directly before eating. This process possibly took up to two days. Le Bokeh Dianella Shot at ƒ/8 Photo: Cullen Pope, ƒ/8 1/640 90mm ISO3200 In the gardens of Barangaroo beautiful flowers abound throughout the year signalling various times to harvest: such as when certain species of fish are ripe for the gathering. Plants and trees also provide both shelter and shade for these activities. This bokeh image grasps the full extent of its beauty. When Cullen asks about the kinds of visitors to the reserve, Tim replies "We've had lots of schools, we've had lots of corporates, and we've had a few VIP days - we've had all types. Mainly locals, but we cater for everyone. We are part of the school curriculum. So we cover the curriculum from K from kindergarten to year 12. Excavating the cove uncovered a lot of artifacts. Többi Sandstone in time Sandstone glistens and gleams when wet and worn wonderfully by the elements of earth, wind, and water which reveals the remnants of time over 200 million years ago. Cratered and weather-worn these structures evoke notions of histories and peoples who have walked across this ancient rockscape. Photo: Cullen Pope, 550D ƒ/8 1/4000 90mm ISO3200 Tim adds, "Part of the colonial history also discovered, was when they even dug up the first boat launching slipway in Australian history. So you can actually see 1827 concrete. And that's where the boat launching was happening. It's called Munns slipway." Nectarous Some sandstone blocks almost look like the Eastern dessert, halva, with its layered sediment lines sweeping through the structures. Brilliant browns, deep reds, and fiery Ochre - hues that have been created over time by the wind. Photo: Cullen Pope, ƒ/8 1/2500 55mm ISO3200 "Entering the cutaway, we learn of its 18,000 square meters in area, including 6,500 meters of floor space. 93% of the sandstone we can see at the reserve came from underneath here that appears around the park. And there's two levels of car parking - 300 car park spaces and another level of a storage water tank, and a basement system, which recycles water from as caught from the 90,000-liter rain tanks of each of those towers." Some 6,500 blocks were placed to create the foreshore. More than 42,000 tonnes of rough stone and a further 30,000 tonnes of crushed stone was also used during the construction of the park. Additionally, some 75,000 native trees, plants and shrubs have been used to landscape Barangaroo Reserve. A selection 84 species were chosen, 79 of which are native to Sydney Harbour. Many of the species are not to be found in commercial nurseries, so seeds and cuttings were collected from wild sites around Sydney Harbour and the Hawkesbury River. http://www.bundanoonsandstone.com.au/pdfjs/web/LAM_11Nov2016_Barangaroo_Peter_Walkers_Point.pdf Sydney Metro Maximus The International Towers Photo: Cullen Pope, ƒ/8 1/500 55mm ISO3200 The pop-art effect of the intensely bright colors in this image blast shocks of light that ricochet off the metallic rust-colored reds of the iron curvations: all the while looking out into the Warhol infused halo of the International Towers of an international city.
