[The following episode was released June 2023 - [Full Episode Notes on Patreon]Description: As Pride Month continues, we explore the activism of drag queens and trans individuals who bore the brunt of the violence during the Stonewall Riots of 1969 and are still targets of violence and vitriol today. State legislators, so far this year, have proposed and in some cases passed, hundreds of bills that seek to restrict drag culture and queer self-expression. Proud Boys have harassed and threatened Drag Story Hour events across the country, even in the diverse borough of Queens, NY. In this episode of The Laura Flanders Show's monthly feature, Meet the BIPOC Press, Laura and co-host Mitra Kalita (co-founder of URL Media) are joined from North Carolina by Naomi Dix, an influential drag artist whose show in rural Moore County was disrupted by a sabotage attack on an energy substation — an attack that left 45,000 households and businesses in the dark for five days in December 2022. We're also joined by reporter Sam Zachar, the producer of a two-part podcast series for Epicenter-NYC on NYC's Drag Story Hours — what they are, and what they're up against.“We never thought in a million years, especially drag artists of my generation, that we would have to be facing the same things and issues that our parents were telling us that they were having to face in the 50s and the 60s and the 70s and the 80s.” - Naomi Dix“What we're seeing is an overlapping of the identities that our communities represent, and the approach to how we combat these forces. It's really powerful when we can say the counter protestors outnumber those who don't want us here.” - Mitra Kalita“I think that Drag Story Hour as a whole gives us a great look and a microcosm of drag trans and queer worlds, because it represents how they're being attacked in terms of losing rights to exist safely, and the Proud Boys, specifically digging their heels into inflammatory, destructive and untruthful accusations against these communities.” - Sam ZacharGuests:• Naomi Dix, Drag Artist, Activist & Member of Durham NC BIPOC Operated House of Coxx; Co-Chair, Pride: Durham, NC www.naomidix.com• Sam Zachar, Reporter, Podcast Producer, Epicenter-NYC• S. Watch / Listen-Download - December 2022, an attack on two electrical substations in Moore County, North Carolina left 45,000 households and businesses without power for up to five days. It was the biggest domestic terrorist attack on the electricity grid in the U.S. Did the sabotage attack have anything to do with LGBTQ harassment or the drag performance scheduled that night? It's Monday, June 9th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Myanmar ceasefire extended to June 30 despite consistent violations The military junta ruling Myanmar announced last week that it would extend a temporary ceasefire, originally established in early April, to June 30, reports International Christian Concern. A massive earthquake struck the country in late March, killing 3,700 people and necessitating extensive relief work in hard-hit civilian areas. Opposition militias agreed to the extended ceasefire, creating hope for improved humanitarian conditions in June despite regular junta violations of the ceasefire up to now. In the first three weeks of the ceasefire alone, the U.N. tracked at least 172 junta attacks, including airstrikes and artillery assaults. The open-source research group Bellingcat documented that at least 22 villages were bombed by the junta in violation of the ceasefire agreement. Senator Cruz wants June to be “Life” month because Roe was overturned Last Thursday, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas introduced a resolution to designate June as Life month to honor the anniversary of the Supreme Court's monumental Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. CRUZ: “Three years ago, the Supreme Court made an historic advance in the cause of life in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. The court overturned Roe v. Wade, a flawed decision that for nearly 50 years enshrined one of the most disturbing notions in our constitutional history: that the Constitution somehow protects the right to end the life of an unborn child. “The fact is, Roe had nothing to do with the Constitution. It was invented whole cloth. It was the product of judicial activism, nine justices legislating from the bench. And that dangerous path took decades to correct. “Thankfully, in 2022, Roe was overturned. Dobbs did not impose any new policies from the bench. Instead, the task of protecting life falls where it always should have been -- not in the hands of unelected judges, but in the hands of the American people.” Canadian pastor imprisoned for objecting to Drag Queen Story Hour Calgary Pastor Derek Reimer, a street preacher who has had the courage to object to drag queen story hours for children in libraries, is back in jail in Alberta, Canada, reports the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The conviction came after Reimer confronted a library manager over a Drag Queen Story Hour event, reports Rebel News. Wearing a GoPro, he walked into the library, spoke to a few attendees, and eventually found the room where the event was taking place. He told the manager the program was "pervert grooming" and warned, "We're going to make your name public and hold you accountable." Security escorted him out peacefully. Later, he posted the video online — along with the manager's name, workplace, and the library phone number — calling on viewers to voice their opposition. Only one person reportedly contacted her, but the librarian testified that she became afraid of what might happen next. She shut down her social media accounts and said Reimer's words left her anxious and fearful. The 38-year-old pastor was arrested and accused of breaching the house arrest condition of his sentence for simply participating in a public rally before his own court appearance. Pastor Reimer, who has now been jailed unjustly at the Calgary Remand Centre for over a month, has been treated badly. The judicial officials have blocked all visitors from seeing him, even the ones who were pre-approved. The only ones allowed to visit Pastor Reimer are his wife, Mona, and their baby. Derek's lawyer, Andrew Mackenzie, hopes that media attention on Reimer's unfair treatment will lead to a more positive outcome. Concerned Christian friends have been gathering for a rally of support at the Remand Centre every Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm, protesting Pastor Reimer's incarceration and bail denial. Please pray for justice to be served on Pastor Reimer's next court date on Monday, June 23rd. On June 5th, Pastor Reimer posted Psalm 138:7 on his Facebook page. It says, “Though I am surrounded by troubles, [God] You will protect me from the anger of my enemies, You reach out Your hand and the power of Your right hand saves me.” Learn more or donate to his legal defense at SavePastorDerek.com. The American Miracle movie tells story of former slaves fighting British The American Miracle movie debuts tonight in 1,000 theaters across America for three days only! Based on Michael Medved's book by the same name, it tells the story of God's hand in the founding of the United States. TESTIMONIAL 1: “I thought it was extraordinary just to see the hand of God on the United States of America. It's absolutely undeniable! The schools are doing everything they can to erase our history. We have an opportunity and an obligation to share the true history of the country.” Cameron Arnett, a black Christian actor known for films by the Kendrick Brothers like The Forge and Overcomer, said this. ARNETT: “I play Peter Salem. He gets introduced to George Washington as a hero of the Battle of Bunker Hill. What I love about this kind of stuff is that we are now unearthing a slew of black heroes that we weren't fortunate enough to grow up with, but that our children will be able to grow up with, because now the stories are being told.” Pastor Darnell Harper of New Covenant Temple was amazed. HARPER: “One of the aspects that touched me a lot was the African-American experience in the founding of our nation and in the battles that we fought, how there was a spirit of unity that we don't hear a lot about today.” The enthusiasm for The American Miracle movie is contagious. TESTIMONIAL 2: “Something that I've learned in the film tonight is that we cannot underestimate how great our God is and how powerful He is and how much He does govern the affairs of men.” Indeed, Daniel 4:17 says, “The Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on Earth.” Go to www.AmericanMiracleMovie.com, watch the trailer, click on the Tickets tab, type in your zipcode, and purchase tickets for tonight, Tuesday or Wednesday since it's only in the theaters for three days. 5 reasons Diana in Glendale, Arizona likes The Worldview Diana Munday in Glendale, Arizona wrote me at Adam@TheWorldview.com. The Christian cultural denominator has disappeared in our respective nations. But then, the Christians who remain can't make up their mind whether they are salt or not. Mass confusion reigns — with the two kingdom people, the Trumpy agenda, the antisemitic crowd, the arguers over strategy, the Sojourners, and the wokey evangelicals. There isn't much salt left, and whatever is left lacks flavor. The solution is the same — churches doing Matthew 28:20 and 2 Tim. 3:17. This program includes: 1. When Pastor Derek Reimer, 38, heard that Drag Queens had been invited to read perverted propaganda to infants and children up to the age of eight at the Seton Library in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he was infuriated. The children's innocence was worthy of protection. And Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.” So, in February 2023, he walked to the front of the room and Biblically challenged the parents to stop listening to the pervert. Within seconds, angry liberal fathers grabbed him and threw him around like a rag doll. In an ironic and shocking twist, Reimer was later arrested at his home, but the parents who had assaulted him were not held accountable. Reimer tells guest host Adam McManus that he “was obedient to God in protecting children and exposing darkness.” Since rededicating his life to Christ nine years ago, he has been animated by Ephesians 5:11 which says, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” Thankfully, on Tuesday, September 24th, Judge Allan Fradsham ruled that Reimer is not guilty of any criminal offense of the February 2023 incident, reports LifeSiteNews.com. However, because of his subsequent objections to other Drag Queen Story Hours throughout Calgary, he was arrested two additional times – once when he was 162 meters away from the library during a Drag Queen Story Hour and another time when he was a mile away street preaching against such perversion. He has served a total of 43 days in jail. Rebel News, a freedom-loving website of journalists, has covered this story extensively. In fact, they have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to help cover Reimer's legal expenses through www.SavePastorDerek.com. You can help as he faces one final trial. It's Tuesday, October 1st, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson South African homeschoolers face jail if kids not in school Last week, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the controversial Basic Education Law Amendments Bill into law in an effort to federalize and centralize control over the nation's education program. The law would levy a year-long prison sentence for truancy, ban all corporal punishment, and require parents to apply to the National Department of Education for permission to homeschool their children or face charges. Christian View Network has been warning for years that the bill is a radical threat to parental rights. Estimates put the number of homeschooled children in South Africa as high as 300,000, reports the South African Broadcast Corporation. An organization dedicated to protecting parental rights in South Africa, The Pestalozzi Trust, has informed the president they will be appealing the Act to the nation's high court. The Trust argues that “the Act imposes excessive regulatory burdens on parents who opt for homeschooling.” Austrian Freedom Party gaining ground The Left is facing a backlash in Europe. The right-leaning, Freedom Party of Austria gained more votes than any other party in the elections held over the weekend — now holding 29% of the seats in parliament. However, the Socialist Party, the left-leaning People's Party, the Greens, and the Communists together hold 67% of the seats. Germany and France witness political gains on the right Last month, the German election yielded more gains for the right-leaning Alternative for Germany Party than any other election since World War II. And, in July, the French elections expanded the rightist party by 50% at the expense of the center. Hurricane Helene's death toll climbs to 116 Hurricane Helene has come and gone, and left a mass of destruction in its path. Ryan Cole, a North Carolina county emergency official, told The Independent Mail, “We have biblical devastation through the county. This is the most significant natural disaster that any one of us has ever seen.” The death count has topped 116 thus far. There are still 600 people missing in North Carolina. Officials count 46 fatalities in North Carolina, 27 deaths in South Carolina, 25 deaths in Georgia, and 13 in Florida. This makes for the second most deadly hurricane in the last 12 years. Could Amish save Western Civilization from Kamala? Could the Amish save Western civilization from Kamala Harris and the socialists? That's what Scott Pressler from Early Vote Action thinks. Scott pointed out on X social media platform that “there are 90,000 Amish voters in Pennsylvania, and the last presidential election was decide by 80,000 votes.” 2 pro-lifers get long prison sentences for peaceful civil disobedience A federal judge sentenced three more pro-lifers for participating in a protest at an abortion clinic in Tennessee on March 5, 2021, reports World Magazine. Chester Gallagher, the leader of the pro-life rescue, received a harsh sentence of 16 months. Heather Idoni was sent to prison for 8 months. And another pro-lifer received a 3-month probation sentence. Four others -- Paul Vaughan, Calvin Zastrow, Coleman Boyd, and Dennis Green -- had already received sentences back in July. Attorney Steve Crampton with The Thomas More Society argued that the protest was “a peaceful demonstration by entirely peaceable citizens—filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship—oriented toward persuading expectant mothers not to abort their babies.” Calgary Pastor vs. Drag Queens Today, as I guest host for Kevin Swanson on Generations Radio, I interview a gutsy Canadian pastor named Derek Reimer in Calgary, Alberta. He dared to speak the truth at a Drag Queen Story Hour event at the library. Listen. McMANUS: “When you heard about these drag queen events where men dress up as women, really caricatures of women, with ridiculously heavy makeup, big wigs, crazy attire, long false eyelashes, and five-inch tall heels, what was your reaction when you heard that it was coming to your town, to your library?” REIMER: “That this was disgusting. It was vile. It was appalling, repugnant. I don't even have enough adjectives to describe it. “So, it's like this righteous indignation that rises up in protection of these little ones. Because when I went to drag events, there was a sign up, ‘Reading with Royalty,' ages zero to eight years old. That's disgusting, how they want to indoctrinate, sexualize and corrupt these little children.” Not only was Pastor Reimer arrested that time, but two additional times and spent 43 days in jail for simply objecting to drag queens in the library. To hear my whole 39-minute conversation, go to Generations.org/radio. That's Generations.org/radio. Will Arizona imprison grandmother who feeds the homeless? And finally, Bullhead City, Arizona is looking at putting a grandmother in jail. A U.S. district court ruled that Norma Thornton is guilty of providing food to the poor in a city park. She was arrested in July 2022, and faces a fine of up to $1,431, 120 days in jail, and 24 months of probation. The city ordinance forbids any “food-sharing event” at a public park. For now, Norma continues to use up about half her income to feed 30 people a day in an alley behind a jet ski shop that has no shade, no tables, or no restrooms, reports WorldNetDaily.com. In Mark 8:6-9, “Jesus commanded the people to sit down on the ground, and He took the seven loaves and gave thanks and broke it, and gave to His disciples to set before the people, so they did eat, and were filled. And they that had eaten were about four thousand.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, October 1st, in the year of our Lord 2024. When Pastor Derek Reimer, 38, heard that Drag Queens had been invited to read perverted propaganda to infants and children up to the age of eight at the Seton Library in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he was infuriated. The children's innocence was worthy of protection. And Deuteronomy 22:5 says, "A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God."So, in February 2023, he walked to the front of the room and Biblically challenged the parents to stop listening to the pervert. Within seconds, angry liberal fathers grabbed him and threw him around like a rag doll. In an ironic and shocking twist, Reimer was later arrested at his home, but the parents who had assaulted him were not held accountable. Thankfully, on Tuesday, September 24th, Judge Allan Fradsham ruled that Reimer is not guilty of any criminal offense of the February 2023 incident, reports LifeSiteNews.com.However, because of his subsequent objections to other Drag Queen Story Hours throughout Calgary, he was arrested two additional times–once when he was 162 meters away from the library during a Drag Queen Story Hour and another time when he was a mile away street preaching against such perversion. He has served a total of 43 days in jail.Rebel News, a freedom-loving website of journalists, has covered this story extensively. In fact, they have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to help cover Reimer's legal expenses through www.SavePastorDerek.com. You can help as he faces one final trial.

A shorter version of this essay was originally published as a Substack Note.If Trump wins, it will be because he has an immovable base. There's nothing he can say to repulse them. At a campaign rally in January 2016, he claimed, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters.”If Trump wins, it will be because he's actually funny sometimes. Elizabeth Warren is a Methodist white woman from Massachusetts who tried to prove she is Cherokee with a DNA test that said 0.09% to 1.5%, all because Trump kept calling her “Pocahontas.”But mostly, if Trump wins, it will be because of the left. Because Ruth Bader Biden's “senior moments” are serious, yet he refuses to step aside. Because we've been gaslit for years with Drag Queen Story Hour and trans literalists who scream at lesbians for not wanting to go home with men in dresses or who threaten to rape TERFs.Because of the sickening antisemitism we have witnessed around October 7. Because of the Stalinist nature of cancel culture. Because of increasingly brazen anti-white racism. Because of CRT and BLM and DEI. Because we are done with everything and everyone being called racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and imperialist.Because we see the impact on young men and boys from being told they are inherently scum and guilty of toxic masculinity. Because we are sick of hearing the lie that we live in a white supremacist, rape culture. Because of the endless disparaging of our great nation, its history, its practices, the Christian faith of many, and every dead white man of great stature.Because of the anti-Western, anti-science, anti-Enlightenment values that the left has adopted. Because none of this stuff has made the country any better and yet the belief that it would was the only reason anyone went along with any of it.If Trump wins, it will be because the woke left simply won't wake up.The Radicalist is a reader-supported publication. New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 90 Regardless of the issue (BLM, Drag Queen Story Hour, Pride, or a college uprising), the ideological totalism of Woke Marxism uses classic tactics to advance itself. One of those is a kind of manipulation through what is called "planned spontaneity," a clear oxymoron. Planned spontaneity is a "mystical manipulation," in the words of Robert Jay Lifton, that gives the totalizing cult the appearance of incredible, widespread, organic support, if not omniscience. The current pro-Hamas (or pro-Palestine) student uprisings are no exception. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay explains this phenomenon through the lens of Lifton's work, particularly indicating how the current Red-Guard student uprisings fit into this fake, manipulative frame of reference. A new federal rule banning non-compete agreements offers little comfort to many Pennsylvania doctors -- because the Federal Trade Commission has limited oversight of nonprofits, including UPMC. Members of the community have inspired me by attending Board meetings to counter misinformation regarding the Drag Queen Story Hour and other LGBTQ+ materials. I applaud their dedication and now wish to add my voice in their support. Also, during a recent meeting, dedicated FVRL employees and WPEA union members shared their struggles with low wages and an unsustainable workload due to high staff turnover. Starting salaries at minimum wage and capped wages force many to live in poverty. Employees are burdened with performing duties outside their job descriptions simply to keep branches functioning. I stand with these employees and the WPEA. I urge the Board to take immediate action to: Address the wage disparity by offering fair compensation commensurate with the cost of living. Invest in staff retention by providing competitive wages and benefits. Maintain the dedicated workforce required to keep libraries as vital community hubs. Furthermore, I encourage the Board to: Uphold the freedom of information by ensuring diverse materials representing all communities are readily available. Counter misinformation by providing accurate resources about LGBTQ+ topics and inclusivity efforts. Prioritize both the well-being of its staff and the needs of all members of the community. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, [Your Name/Group Name]

Celibacy for the Kingdom of Heaven in a hyper sexualized world. What is Jesus Speaking about? Our conversation navigates the powerful concepts of virginity and celibacy for the kingdom of heaven, a symbolic self-sacrifice in a world where the idea is totally foreign. In an era where gender reassignment surgeries are becoming common, we shed light on the potential harm they can inflict. Contrasting this with the Christian belief in personal transformation through grace, we highlighted the ultimate goal of eternal love and life that all of us should aim for.As we move further into this challenging discourse, we recognize the profound impact of transgender ideology on our youth. We stressed the importance of standing up for truth, spreading the gospel, and the power of prayer in our spiritual journey. Despite the trials and tribulations, we ought to remain undeterred. The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 130 The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution. The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution. This is a core maxim of Marxist activist thought, and it explains so much. In the early 1990s, the French Postmodernist philosopher Jean Beaudrillard put it another way, though, in a sense. He provocatively published a book with the title The Gulf War Did Not Take Place (https://amzn.to/3QHprG9). What Baudrillard meant is that the Gulf War was an event that happened in the Persian Gulf, but what we call the "Gulf War" was a propaganda and media creation by Western intelligence communities and mass media to achieve specific political warfare aims with the public. In that sense, just like how the issue, whether Covid, BLM, Drag Queen Story Hour, Ukraine, "Palestine," or whatever else, is never the issue; each of those Current Things did not take place, in the Baudrillardian sense. In this provocative episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay explains the maxim and Baudrillard's point and uses them to reveal Leftist tactics as well as political warfare strategies and counters. Carl Jackson guest hosts for Dennis… Speaker McCarthy authorizes an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. It's about time… Liberals are much closer ideologically to conservatives than to leftists, but they vote for leftists. Is there a way to lead them to the light? One reason liberals vote for the left is that they don't know what's going on. They think something like Drag Queen Story Hour is just “crazy stuff” and never happens… The elites live conservative lives, but they want you to adopt radical leftism. There are no extreme Republican Party positions. The “extremism” is a media creation. Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (05/22/2023): 3:05pm- While speaking with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) said that the House of Representatives plans to use its power over the purse to constrain the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). 3:15pm- According to a report from Charlie Savage of The New York Times, “F.B.I. analysts improperly used a warrantless surveillance program to search for information about hundreds of Americans who came under scrutiny in connection with two politically charged episodes of civil unrest: the protests after the 2020 police killing of George Floyd and the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, a newly declassified court ruling shows… Intelligence and law enforcement officials can search the database of communications intercepted under Section 702 using the names or other identifiers of Americans, but only under certain circumstances. The F.B.I. has repeatedly failed to comply with those limits, leading to court scrutiny.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/19/us/politics/fbi-violated-surveillance-program-rules.html 3:40pm- While speaking with Congressman Byron Donalds, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd argued in favor of expanding the number of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents—explaining that Americans shouldn't fear additional agents provided they're properly paying their taxes. 3:55pm- The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board writes of the IRS, “[t]he Supreme Court held this week that revenue agents who are chasing a debt have almost unbounded power to secretly obtain bank records on people in a delinquent taxpayer's orbit, even his lawyers. Reversing this is up to Congress.” You can read the full editorial here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/supreme-court-remo-polselli-irs-agents-bank-records-1e5d7531?mod=opinion_lead_pos3 4:05pm- According to reports, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and reality television star Snooki have joined the push to stifle offshore wind development in New Jersey as whales continue to wash ashore along the Atlantic coast. Sonar has been used for ocean floor mapping and, according to some environmental experts, it may be interfering with marine life's ability to communicate and accurately navigate. 4:30pm- New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy disagrees with environmentalists that are claiming sonar used for ocean floor mapping may be interfering with marine life's ability to communicate and navigate—instead blaming pollution and climate change. 4:40pm- While speaking with Financial Times Editor Edward Luce, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton agreed that President Joe Biden's age could be an important consideration for some voters in 2024. 4:50pm- According to The Daily Wire's Spencer Lindquist, “Washington state is preparing to spend an estimated $83,000 on an employee diversity training featuring the Director of Drag Queen Story Hour.” You can read the full article here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/washington-state-to-spend-83k-on-training-featuring-drag-queen-story-hour-director 5:05pm- While speaking at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, President Joe Biden said he should be “blameless” in the event the United States defaults on the national debt—blaming “MAGA Republicans” for stalled negotiations. 5:10pm- The NAACP has issued a formal travel advisory warning for Florida—claiming Governor Ron DeSantis' policies are “hostile” towards black Americans. While appearing on CNN, NAACP President Derrick Johnson reacted to statistics indicating Florida is #1 in the country for black owned businesses by arguing that the data was “propaganda language”. 5:20pm- Nebraska State Senator Machaela Cavanaugh flipped out and continually chanted “we need trans people!” while speaking from the Senate floor. 5:30pm- The Mystery Movie Clip! 5:45pm- Will President Joe Biden use the 14th Amendment to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling? In 2011, then-President Barack Obama said about the 14th Amendment: “I've talked to my lawyers. They are not persuaded.” The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board writes, “[w]hat the 14th Amendment doesn't allow is the claim by many progressives that the President can issue new debt without the consent of Congress. Merely because Congress has approved new spending doesn't mean the President can issue new debt on his own authority to finance it. He can't issue new debt on his own to finance Medicare, for example.” You can read more here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/what-the-14th-amendment-really-says-debt-ceiling-biden-shut-down-default-constitution-78b24824?mod=opinion_lead_pos1 6:05pm- Tim Graham of Newsbusters points out that as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis gears up to announce his campaign for President later this week, Politico wrote a “hit piece” on DeSantis' wife, Casey. You can read more here: https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/tim-graham/2023/05/21/politicos-dirty-hit-piece-casey-desantis-lady-macbeth-ice-queen 6:10pm- Charles Gasparino of The New York Post writes, “[t]he long-planned construction of a $1 billion office complex in Florida that would include thousands of new jobs needed to be scuttled to appease Wall Street…Disney's stock price remains well off its highs even after Wall Street cheered Iger's return last November.” Gasparino concludes that the mainstream media's narrative that Governor Ron DeSantis was solely responsible for Disney's decision to cancel plans for a new Florida-based campus is inaccurate. You can read the full editorial here: https://nypost.com/2023/05/19/disney-isnt-killing-florida-jobs-over-ron-desantis/ 6:30pm- While appearing as a guest on Face the Nation, New York City Mayor Eric Adams implored border state governors to send migrants to “every U.S. city” despite NYC's status as a self-described “sanctuary city.” 6:40pm- On Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd stated that “we need a real Church Committee” to investigate the FBI and its alleged abuses of power—citing that trust in the bureau has completely eroded.
