L'intelligence artificielle (IA) générative inquiète une partie du monde de la culture, à commencer par le secteur du doublage, qui représente près de 15 000 emplois en France. Des comédiens, des traducteurs ou encore des techniciens du son qui travaillent souvent pour l'ensemble du monde francophone et qui se mobilisent pour que leurs voix et leurs métiers soient protégés face à l'IA générative. Nous nous sommes rendus dans un studio de doublage en région parisienne, dont nous tairons le nom pour des raisons de confidentialité. Au fond de la salle obscure aux murs recouverts de tissu bleu, un écran diffuse des extraits d'une série d'animation japonaise. Devant le micro, Bruno Méyère, comédien, double en français plusieurs personnages.« Tu peux aller jusqu'à "cru"... Voilà, c'est très bien », applaudit la directrice artistique Brigitte Lecordier, une voix emblématique du monde du doublage francophone, épaulée ce jour-là par son fils Louis Lecordier comme directeur de production.« Je suis surtout connue pour ma voix de dessin animé, Oui-Oui et surtout Dragon Ball », sourit celle qui est la voix de Son Goku enfant dans la mythique série d'animation japonaise. Elle a vu arriver l'intelligence artificielle générative avec une profonde appréhension. « On n'est pas contre l'IA : cela peut apporter des choses d'un point de vue technique et en termes d'outils, nuance-t-elle d'abord. Mais nous sommes très inquiets. On veut continuer à créer et à être des artistes. Pas être remplacés par cette chose qui ne crée que par ce qu'elle nous a volé. On nous vole notre voix pour générer de l'IA et nous faire dire aussi des choses qu'on n'a pas choisi de dire. »Le monde du doublage a été choqué par un extrait du dernier film de Sylvester Stallone, Armor, dans lequel la voix française historique du comédien américain a été modélisée par une IA. Non seulement le résultat a été jugé mauvais par le secteur, mais Alain Dorval, la voix française de Sylvester Stallone, est décédé en février 2024, ce qui soulève de nombreuses questions éthiques aux yeux des comédiens. Sa fille, Aurore Bergé – actuellement ministre du gouvernement de François Bayrou – reconnaît avoir donné son accord pour un essai, mais dément avoir autorisé cette diffusion.« L'IA prend le travail d'artistes. Peut-on se passer d'artistes dans une société ? », s'interroge ainsi Brigitte Lecordier. Or, « l'IA ne crée pas. Elle redonne médiocrement ce qui a déjà été fait », avertit-elle.À lire aussiCinéma: et si demain, l'IA jouait les premiers rôles?L'IA pour accélérer la préparation du doublageDu côté des studios, hors micro, un professionnel du secteur estime que les craintes des comédiens sont légitimes, mais que même si l'IA n'est pas capable de reproduire fidèlement des émotions, elle peut être utile pour accélérer la préparation et l'après enregistrement, ou alors pour pouvoir modifier un mot en cas d'erreur. L'enjeu économique est important pour les commanditaires : en France, une minute de doublage peut coûter 280 à 400 euros, voire plus, en fonction du temps qui y est consacré.Le sujet est très sensible car des négociations sont en cours entre les syndicats, les studios, les majors américaines, les chaînes de télé ou encore les plateformes, pour doter la France d'un cadre plus protecteur pour les métiers du doublage sur le sujet. Le long mouvement social des scénaristes en 2023 à Hollywood est présent dans tous les esprits, sans qu'une grève soit pour l'instant sur la table en France.Déjà moins de travail pour les doubleursCertains comédiens ont déjà vu leur volume de travail diminuer en raison de l'IA. Par exemple, « des maquettes, ou d'autres éléments qui ne sont pas diffusés mais qu'on enregistrait et pour lesquels nous étions rémunérés », notamment dans le secteur de la publicité, témoigne Patrick Kuban, de l'association Lesvoix.fr et membre de United Voice Artists (UVA), qui regroupe des associations de 35 pays mobilisées au sujet de l'IA et des voix. Certaines entreprises d'IA, basées hors de France, clonent aussi les voix de comédiens de films d'animation, sans leur consentement. « On demande que notre travail ne soit pas récupéré et que notre voix et notre visage soient protégés. Ce sont des données biométriques. On doit nous demander notre consentement. Or, des plateformes basées à Dubaï, aux États-Unis ou encore en Israël s'émancipent du règlement européen sur la protection des données (RGPD) pour proposer sur le territoire français des livres audios ou des services de doublage » avec des voix « volées », dénonce-t-il à l'unisson de l'intersyndicale qui participe aux négociations dans l'Hexagone.Les discussions progressent lentement. Les humains ont « un temps d'avance artistique » face à des IA encore « très robotiques », estime Patrick Kuban. Les travailleurs du secteur ont en tout cas un argument de poids pour se faire entendre dans les négociations : près de 9 spectateurs sur 10 en France regardent les films et téléfilms en version française. The ladies are back from their week off, trying to re-coup and stay cool in this ongoing heat warning called Las Vegas.  From the Mirage closing here on the strip, to the “Ear” escapades from the weekend to the #NFL season on the way & #ParisOlympics starting next week, there is SO MUCH to chat about.  The ladies first had to address the National Anthem heard around the county, by #IngridAndress at the #MLB HR Derby, yikes.  Ingrid is now in rehab, as her “team” report she was drunk during the Anthem.  Mo was thrilled for her first #LADodger to win the Derby, and the MLB All-Star also saw the AL take the win, even with a 3-run HR by Ohtani.  Speaking of Ohtani, Mo is ready for a trip to #Tokyo to see the Dodgers opening day, Mel can definitely get with that.  But this weekend its all about the #WNBA and the #WNBAAllStar weekend in Phoenix.  The heat has already turned up as the players/teams arrive in AZ.  From #TeamUSA photos to practice on the NEW Mercury Practice Facility & “Taurasi Court” to the participants of the 3pt & Skills Challenge…it is definitely going to be a TIME! The ladies also had to chat about the one and only #USHER popping in courtside to the #LVAces #Sky game.
