In late January 2018, a train carrying about 10 million pounds of human excrement from New York City stopped in the small town of Parrish, Louisiana with 982 residents. From the day it got there, residents noticed. Due to an injunction from the nearby town of West Jefferson, arguing in court earlier in the year that the loading and unloading of containers violated its zoning laws, the train sat for over 2 months in Parrish, disrupting the lives of everyone in town. Dubbed "The Poop Train", it was the butt of many jokes, except to the residents where the human waste baked in the hot, southern sun. On this week's comedy news podcast, we have a few funny topics, including rats and ATM's (with the weird news noise), and an update from the Alabama poop train from Honch, and some other things. Immediately, before actually talking about the knews, we get off topic, discussing Seinfeld and showering with food. Croutons will definetely not work in the shower. So we finally get onto the news story, which is an update from 7 months ago (we think, we don't understand the concept of time). So a train gets stuck in Alabama with a bunch of poop, just sitting in a city. Now we've learned from Honch that the train was finally emptied...and maybe in Georgia, probably somewhere around Atlanta. Sorry people of Atlanta. After talking about trains and poop, we turn to Reddit for some of the best questions that Jethrow found on Reddit. The first question was, what was it like in the 2000's in school? Jethrow and D take a trip back to memory lane about skipping school in the video store, sneaking out of computer class, and ultimately buying orange slice candy. Jethrow packed up all of his books and just left chemistry class, including skipping school with the 'W', who is now a doctor. If you don't remember the 2000's, at least the very early ones...we didn't have Facebook, Instagram, or other social media. And we had horrible ringtones, and maybe some people had pages. After some additional discussion, Honch makes Jethrow almost choke to death on his Pepsi. So something amazing happened in India these last few weeks. Bank technicians were called to investigate an ATM that wasn't working. As it turns out, a rat made its way inside of the ATM, and ate nearly $18,000 in Indian currency. Let's repeat that, a RAT ate $18K in paper money...and it wasn't all singles. After making terrible car noises, including BRAP BRAP BRAP and some anti-lag, Jethrow had another question from Reddit, which is how did you mess with the computers in school? Jethrow goes back to the days of computer programming, where he created a fake program to make the teacher thing that it was reformatting the harddrive. D goes on to talk about another story with the 'W', who was 'fixing' a CD rom drive with a pencil, and ended up replacing it. D also brought his computer speakers to class with his guitar pedal, and would play music in class. Honch got a disease on Oregon Trail. That was about the extent of his malicious computer adventures, and also moving the keys on the keyboard.

We kick off this funny/comedy news episode being whatever we want to be, or whatever we identify as (some of us are French maybe). Steve North kicks us off with him wanting D to shut up, but immediately wants him to start talking again because he has some comedy news to deliver. A man from Colorado (stoned?) has been attacked by lions and tigers and bears (oh my). Not really, he was attacked by a shark, he's been mauled by a bear, and bitten by a rattlesnack within a few year period. In his latest encounter, he was attacked by a shark and ended up with only 7 stitches. The man was also once sleeping when a bear started to bite his head. Smokey the bear doesn't have anything on this guy. At the end of the day, with these attacks maybe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time....3 times. Honch goes into a story about saving a puppy (which didn't really happen) to impress someone, but he really just cut his hand on Spaghettios. Steve North's wife had to get some stitches, but she was opening a banana. Bears and snakes...and sharks. Oh my. After attacking that topic (3 times)...Jethrow goes into a question from '?' on Yahoo! Answers. If you're not vegan, what do you have against going vegan? Honch just thinks it is stupid, Steve North writes down that it sucks. Nothing is more official than when you write it down, and you should leave Steve North alone because he likes to eat animals....for every one animal a vegan doesn't eat, he'll eat 3. Koalas, Toucans, and whatever else you could think of. Why are they made so delicious? (Hint of the episode): None of us are Vegan. Honch's wife was actully vegetarian (or maybe she was vegan) when they started dating...which didn't last long. If you are...how do you know whether or not something tastes like its meat counterpart. But you don't really have to cook any of it. We went from veganism to poop trains in about 3 seconds. Honch found this story while spending his time on the toilet. Parish, Alabama is a small town with a giant train...carrying New York's poop. There is a lot of paper work (is it rolls of paper work...maybe a lot of red ink involved in this one). There is a giant stinking train stuck in the town...and they can't keep it moving, which is on its way to Georgia. If it is stuck in the town, is the town constipated? Now we have to get on the Internet and define what a 'Alabama poop train' is. We have no idea what is happening...it's a #2 world problem. Jethrow takes us on a sidebar with a conversation that he had with his wife, which led to a secret menu item at a local pizza joint. Jethrow is one of 'those people' who is into having his toppings on the side. Jethrow will eat it for breakfast...and created a new cereal called 'Opps All Meat', which maybe is a cereal that is made by accident...and yes it has pepperoni and animal shapes. Steve North scared D to death with his little boy impression. We'll leave you put to all of that together by listening to the podcast episode. After diving out the world of the comedic world of news, would you like to have some fart breath, how about a gallon of essential peppermint oil to fix that? Somehow we ended up on essential oils...no idea. We end the episode with a 'would you rather' about a 45 minute....something..walk, run? D wouldn't do any of those things...because he has a hard time getting to the fridge. In the ends we learned about being bitten, vegans are obnoxious, poop train is real, Opps all meat is a new cereal that we hope hits grocery store shelves. (don't steal this Nabisco).

All aboard for an episode of trainspotting, hobos and lamenting the loss of the bar car. James and Emily raise their glasses to one of the greatest marvels of transportation and, dare we say it, a highlight of our daily commute. This episode's wine: Double Dog Dare Cabernet (We're still in shock it was only $3)This episode's cheese: Cabot white cheddar In this episode, James professes his child-like love for train travel and gives reasons why commuting by train is the best, including being environmentally friendly without being pretentious, plus learn about his tips to avoid paying the fare.   Emily complains about Ryan Gosling's ticket-taker doppelganger, who is drunk on his own power, then we get sidetracked talking about how Brad Pitt has Prosopagnosia (face blindness), so more girls should just go up to him and convince him they're Angelina Jolie.   We drop our podcast voices to showcase our actual Connecticut accents to talk about Metro North, and we lament the last bar car in the United States.   Emily gives James the job of catching a fly since he hasn't read any of the Harry Potter books (shame mail for James can be sent to classypodcast@gmail.com) and Harry Potter fans can geek out with her as she talks about Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station. We talk about A queen of England, but not THE queen, unfortunately. We also sympathize with those who have to commute daily from King's Cross, especially if their trains are on Platforms 9 or 10.   While we don't get into the book or movie, "Trainspotting," we do talk about those who trainspot as a hobby, known as railfans. We dive into the different types, from those who record different trains, to those who ride a particular train route, to those who explore abandoned train stations. We also look at the connection between children with autism and the fascination with trains.   James talks about the psychology of train etiquette and the dynamic of ignoring the same people you see every day. (We didn't even acknowledge the fact that this may even be a Northeastern thing, because once you leave this area of the country, people are much friendlier.)   James decides to throw a party for his anonymous train friends and talks about the social dynamics of train seating. He also benefits from the remnants of racism still prevalent in Connecticut, and Emily tells the story of the one time James embarrassed her on the train and why they don't take the train together anymore.   James also scolds Emily for succumbing to click bait and forbids her from the Internet. But, then again, he never gives up the chance to talk about his penis.
