The best friend of three Kansas City Chiefs fans who were found frozen in a backyard after a watch party has been arrested alongside another man more than a year after the case baffled authorities and family members. Ricky Johnson, 38, David Harrington, 37, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were last seen alive watching the final regular season Chiefs game on January 7, 2024. Two days later, their bodies were discovered in the backyard of their friend Jordan Willis' home. Willis, 39, a scientist, and Ivory J. Carson, 42, have now been charged with involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance, Kansas City police announced Wednesday. For months, Willis denied any involvement in his friends' deaths, claiming he went to bed in the early hours of January 8 and had no idea they were still outside. He also said he was wearing headphones and never saw the frantic messages from the victims' loved ones. But as time passed, suspicion grew. Family members of the deceased demanded answers from police, who initially insisted there was no foul play. The case seemed stalled—until investigators found a crucial link: Carson, known as "Blade Brown," allegedly supplied and sold cocaine to Willis and the victims. His DNA was later discovered on a bag of fentanyl inside Willis' home. According to prosecutors, a witness reported seeing a plate of cocaine at Harrington's home earlier in the night, allegedly provided by Willis. Another witness told police he was with the men at Willis' home after the game, where they drank, smoked marijuana, and used cocaine. That witness confirmed Harrington, McGeeney, and Johnson were still alive at 1:30 a.m. after Willis had gone to bed. By January 9, after two days with no contact, McGeeney's fiancée broke into Willis' basement, calling his name. She found one of the bodies on the back porch and immediately called the police. Officers then discovered the other two victims in the yard. Toxicology reports later confirmed the presence of cocaine, THC, and fentanyl in their systems. On Wednesday, authorities concluded the men died from "fentanyl and cocaine toxicity." But for their families, the explanation wasn't enough. Harrington's mother, Theresa, pointed out that her son did not take drugs intending to die. "Somebody gave them something that would kill them," she insisted. Suspicion around Willis only intensified when it was revealed he had moved out of his Kansas City home and entered a rehabilitation program. Meanwhile, police uncovered text messages between Carson, the victims, and others that allegedly confirmed Carson was supplying them with cocaine. When questioned by police in July 2024, Carson admitted to selling the drug to the victims. Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd made it clear: "This case is a tragic reminder of the dangers of street drugs. But make no mistake, the people that supply those drugs can and will be held accountable when people overdose." Carson is now in jail on a $100,000 cash bond. Willis is expected to surrender and post his own $100,000 bond. If convicted, both men face a maximum of 10 years in prison. #KansasCity #ChiefsWatchParty #TrueCrime #FentanylCrisis Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Charges could be forthcoming in the case involving the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans found in their friend's backyard in January, though likely not against the homeowner, according to the homeowner's lawyer. David Harrington, 37, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and Ricky Johnson, 38, visited their friend Jordan Willis's home in Kansas City to watch the Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers on January 7. Two days later, the trio was found dead in Willis's backyard. John Picerno, Willis's attorney, told PEOPLE that after discussions with prosecutors involved in the case, he believes charges will be filed in the coming weeks—but not against his client. "I do not anticipate that he's going to be charged with any kind of a homicide in any way or involvement in that," Picerno said. "And so obviously, we're very pleased with that." Picerno previously stated that Willis was "unaware of how his friends died." Harrington's father, Jon Harrington, previously told PEOPLE that Kansas City police had read him a toxicology report indicating that cocaine and fentanyl were found in his son's body, though the report has not been made public. Authorities have not disclosed official causes of death for the victims. Picerno believes the person who supplied the drugs to the men could potentially face charges. "I believe that the supplier of the drugs may be held accountable," he said. Kansas City police have previously stated that the investigation is not a homicide investigation. In response to Picerno's comments, a police spokesperson told PEOPLE: "[Investigators] did advise they are continuing to work with the Platte County Prosecutor's Office and could have some updates in the coming weeks." - **Three friends found dead:** The men were discovered in the backyard of Jordan Willis two days after watching a Chiefs game. - **Homeowner unlikely to face charges:** Attorney John Picerno does not anticipate his client will be charged with homicide. - **Possible drug involvement:** A toxicology report allegedly showed cocaine and fentanyl in David Harrington's body. - **Supplier may face charges:** The person who provided the drugs could be held accountable. - **Investigation ongoing:** Authorities have not released causes of death and say it's not a homicide case. In March, two months after his son died, Jon Harrington said the results of the investigation wouldn't change anything for him. "I don't really care what they find out now, it doesn't matter to me," he said. "I've already said my goodbyes to David and it's not going to change anything." Jon mentioned that an "awful lot" of people attended David's memorial on January 21, which showed him "how much they were missing him." - #KansasCityChiefs - #ChiefsFans - #UnsolvedCase - #LegalUpdate - #DrugInvestigation - #FentanylCrisis Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? In the case of the three Kansas City friends who tragically froze to death in their friend Jordan Willis' backyard in January 2024, recent updates reveal that charges are expected to be filed soon. However, the homeowner, Jordan Willis, is not expected to face any charges. According to Willis' attorney, John Picerno, the charges are likely related to the supply of drugs found in the victims' systems, which included cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana. The three men—Ricky Johnson, Clayton McGeeney, and David Harrington—were found dead on January 9, two days after they had gathered to watch a Chiefs game. Toxicology reports indicated that the combination of drugs, along with freezing temperatures, likely contributed to their deaths. The investigation, which had not initially suspected foul play, is now focusing on the person or persons who may have provided the drugs.Prosecutors are expected to file charges soon, potentially involving drug distribution or other related offenses.(commercial at 8:14)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Major update in deaths of Kansas City Chiefs fans who 'froze to death' at friend's watch party | Daily Mail Online

The Defensive Line Starts at 1:00 Brian says we're not allowed to cackle through this or be hype the whole time, but we spend a lot of time talking about what to expect from Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant before getting into their depth. Benny has a road back to health but should have his breakout year about now. After him it's iffy, since Etta had to move inside. Pierce is Just a Nose for now. After them…not much. Edge should be deep and excellent again. Josaiah Stewart is younger than Derrick Moore and was in the process of turning into a complete Amoeba edge. Moore is on his way to Tacodom and the NFL Draft. TJ Guy has been waiting forever. Think part of the reason Etta moved was because they like Cam Brandt a lot. [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP]  2. Hot Takes and Linebackers Starts at 47:18 We are buying the Barham hype, yes. Because of practice and film and the talk. Hausmann was a nickel in high school and never lost that agility, played along with the starters last year and wasn't a drop. Think Rolder's end of the year isn't fair, that his freshman year was more telling. Seth likes Jaydon Hood, the last of the Don Brown backs. Cole Sullivan will probably be good but don't want to see too much of him this year. 3. Secondary Starts at 1:12:38 This Will Johnson fellow, maybe you've heard of him. Can't afford an injury so no he can't play receiver and return puts you sickos. Was injured last year so this year could be special, or he could be avoided as Jyaire Hill gets his feet under him. Good news that he's moved up, always needed time to mature. Still younger than most of the freshman, and played safety in high school. Backups are the transfers-Hall has drawn comps to Wallace But Fast so that's your #3 guy—Seth thinks he's Gemon Green. Kechaun Harris could play too. Ricky Johnson might need a year. Safeties took a hit losing Rod Moore but Makari Paige will be nice and forgotten, Quinten Johnson had his light go on and we're glad they fished him out of UDFA'dom. Think the transfers will take time to learn the defense but should be in a regular rotation—Mangham is another Sabb, blow up next year. Zeke Berry won the nickel job over McBurrows, which is impressive. Will be more of a blitzer, won't be Sainristil, but they went portal shopping for safeties because they wanted Berry in the slot that much. Brandyn Hillman has a role as the hybrid if they want to go 4-3 against running QBs again. 4. Special Teams and Wink Starts at 1:34:57 Tommy Doman might never punt again but he's good at it; the consistency is coming with age. Dominic Zvada is another good portal kicker, has two years to play, missed all of his bad ones early last year. Returns will be fun with Semaj. Wink is going to blitz because that fits the personnel. Things Discussed: Seth: FBS needs to take the season off to celebrate the recent champions and digest all of these changes. They're not surrender cobras anymore; that's just relaxing. VICTORS: bigger project than we thought, 95% written now. Yes you can still order one (I'm making 10,000, about 8,400 sold). QB: Wish we'd seen more of Orji last year; saying he's the ideal leader, how consistent can he be with the throws. Don't count out Davis Warren. RB: Jordan Marshall news is good for Jordan Marshall; they don't need him yet so if he's breaking into the lineup we've got a Corum on our hands. Need to see more 2RB with Mullings blocking because he got the Block of the Week three times in 25 attempts, including the one where he lit up Dallas Turner in the Rose. WR: Semaj is WR2 we think. TE: Loveland is going to split out wide a lot (watch the Rose again). OL: Best you can be after replacting five (six!) starters. Do they have eight starters or four? Think Crippen/Anderson is a Barnhart/Trente situation. RT? Might not like what they have from Gentry and Persi, might just be a good sign that Evan Link is coming on. El-Hadi, Crippen, Hinton are Old Wisconsin replacements. DL: Benny should be at his takeoff year, haven't talked about him because he was injured. Hearing the right things on Pierce: he can be not moved. Etta can penetrate, but neither can do both. Etta's position is like hearing Mike Morris is moving to DT: he can do it, but he'll be undersized, and it means they don't like any of their options past that. Kirby Smart is complaining about his 4th DT too. Cornerback: Jyaire Hill probably rounds into a star over the course of the season, coaches are impatient for it to happen now. Aamir Hall is a find; Ricky Johnson is a loose cannon needs a year. Safety: Need four, have four. Mangham will come along, is your new Sabb. Q-Jo will start earlier in the season but expect Walker to come along and rotate with Johnson. Berry: Different player from Sainristil, think having him means you go man more often and let Wink blitz more.

Kansas City 3, was it criminal or the result of bad decisions? Welcome to another gripping episode of 'Police off the Cuff,' where real crime is dissected from the front lines by those who know it best. I'm your host Bill, alongside my esteemed colleague Mike Geary, as we dive into a perplexing case that has Kansas City and the nation on edge. In today's episode, titled "Kansas City 3: was it criminal or the result of bad decisions?", we're unraveling the tangled threads of a tragedy involving three adult men—Clayton McGeeney, Ricky Johnson, and David Harrington—who lost their lives under mysterious circumstances. We ask the tough questions: Was this a terrible outcome of personal choice, or is there more to this story that meets the eye? The case, known as the "Kansas City three," saw these men attending a football watch party that ended in disaster, with drugs playing a fatal role in their demise. With speculations of fentanyl-laced narcotics and the tragic result of an unintentional overdose, the community and authorities are left grappling with the consequences and legal implications. As we dissect the fine line between accident and homicide, we'll consider the critical aspects of the investigation—from lividity and body positioning to the toxicology reports. With expertise from retired NYPD sergeant and law professor Mike Geary and insights from our chat participants, we'll explore the harsh reality of drug use, the dangers of fentanyl in street drugs, and the profound impact on the families left behind. It's a complex tapestry of personal responsibility, legal challenges, and the quest for justice. So as the world listens and the families demand answers, join us on 'Police off the Cuff' for a candid look at this harrowing case. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/otcpod1/support

The father of David Harrington, Jon Harrington, has told media outlets that he doesn't believe Jordan Willis' claims of not hearing relatives banging on his door. He's also challenging how the men died. He says reports that they froze to death "isn't very likely."     Police, meanwhile, are asking the victims' families for help in unlocking phones. Investigators believe there may be clues as to what happened that night. We've also learned that homeowner/friend Jordan Willis has moved out of his home and has not checked into rehab.  Joining Nancy Grace Today: Jonathan Price - Brother of Ricky Johnson; Ricky Johnson Funeral Expenses GoFundMe: www.gofundme.com/f/baaqs-ricky-johnson; LinkedIn: Jonathan Price, LSSMBB Bernarda Villalona – NY Criminal Defense Attorney & Former Prosecutor, Villalona Law, PLLC.: @BernardaVillalona (FaceBook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads); Twitter: @VillalonaLaw Dr. John Delatorre –  Licensed Psychologist and Mediator (specializing in forensic psychology); Psychological Consultant to Project Absentis: a nonprofit organization that searches for missing persons; X, IG, and TikTok – @drjohndelatorre Dr. Jan Gorniak – Medical Examiner, Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner (Las Vegas, NV), Board Certified Forensic Pathologist Todd G. The puzzling deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans, Clayton McGeeney, David Harrington, and Ricky Johnson, have left the community in shock and raised questions about what could have led to their bizarre demise. On January 9, their lifeless bodies were discovered frozen in the backyard of their friend Jordan Willis' home, two days after they had gathered to watch a football game.    The grim discovery was made after McGeeney's fiancée became concerned when he failed to return home on that Sunday, and attempts to reach Willis, the homeowner, went unanswered. When police arrived at the scene, Willis was reportedly found with a wine glass in hand, seemingly unaware of the tragedy unfolding in his backyard. His claim of being asleep with noise-canceling headphones for two days has raised eyebrows.    Despite the eerie circumstances, authorities have ruled out foul play, and Willis is not considered a suspect. However, the deaths remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the community seeking answers.    Dr. Caleb Alexander, an epidemiologist from Johns Hopkins University, has weighed in on the case, suggesting that the deaths could be linked to a dangerous combination of opioid-like drugs and alcohol. He emphasized that the involvement of three individuals intensifies the curiosity and tragedy surrounding the incident, indicating that more than just moderate alcohol consumption may have played a role.    Dr. Alexander explained that various prescription drugs, when combined with alcohol, can lead to a heightened level of sedation, potentially resulting in the victims succumbing to the freezing weather. Common drugs such as Xanax, Ativan, Valium, and carisoprodol were cited as potential culprits.    Illicit opioids like fentanyl also remain a possibility, with Dr. Alexander considering it "a very plausible scenario." He noted the recent tragedy of musician Jose Vasquez and his wife succumbing to a fentanyl overdose, emphasizing the risk even in group settings.    The weather conditions on January 7 and 8, with temperatures in the 30s, could have contributed to their deaths. Dr. Alexander explained that sitting outdoors without movement in such weather could pose serious danger, as individuals would not generate enough body heat to stay warm.  As the Kansas City Police Department awaits the results of autopsies and toxicology reports, the true cause of this tragic incident remains uncertain. Dr. Alexander stressed the importance of these reports in unraveling the mystery.    The community and the families of the deceased are left in grief and confusion, with many hoping for clarity and closure regarding the deaths of three friends whose lives ended so tragically and unexpectedly.
