Did you know that 90% of generic medications in America primarily come from China? In 2019, government advisor Rosemary Gibson revealed shocking information about medication quality and safety. Research found that 13% of generic medications coming into the US were defectively manufactured, containing carcinogens, lead, arsenic, and other toxins. As a parent or patient, you deserve to know what's going into your body. I also explore the concerning impact of food dyes on our health - especially for children. Red Dye #40 has been linked to allergies, migraines, and immune dysfunction, while Yellow #5 can damage DNA and white blood cells. These synthetic dyes can cause neurobehavioral problems in children and have already been banned in places like California and the UK. Food companies are getting sneaky too - rebranding dyes with innocent-sounding names like "allura red" or "brilliant blue" to make them seem natural. You'll find these harmful ingredients hiding in popular snacks like M&Ms, Doritos, and many children's cereals. Enroll in the Parent Membership Subscribe to the Connect My Brain YouTube Channel! Thirty years ago, the United States, Europe, and Japan manufactured 90 percent of the global supply of the key ingredients for the world's medicines and vitamins. No more. China is now the largest global supplier. Millions of Americans are taking prescription and over-the-counter drugs made in, or with critical ingredients from China and they don't know it and neither do many of their doctors. This is becoming a grave concern. As we've seen, first with the global pandemic driven lockdowns and now, with the Russia/Ukraine war, the world's economy has acute supply chain interdependencies. And for America, among the top of our concerns, has to be our dependence on an increasingly hostile China for our pharmaceutical drugs. Sharing my concern and joining me on this episode are my returning guests: Rosemary Gibson, author of “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America's Dependence on China for Medicine” And Frank Gaffney, founder of the Center for Security Policy, Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Present Danger: China and who hosts Securing America with Frank Gaffney on the Real America's Voice Network Some highlights: The FDA not only approves new drugs, but also inspects drug manufacturing plants. Worryingly, that's happening less and less with our drugs made in China. In the spring of 2020, the US was just weeks away from not having the most basic medicines. Why? Our dependence on India, and in turn China. Is Congressional leadership so compromised by its ties to China that it is not willing to address our growing supply chain vulnerabilities? We're told we pay more for prescription drugs to cover pharma's huge domestic R&D costs. Pharma's solution? Move its R&D to “low cost” China, a move that makes America ever more vulnerable to the whims of the CCP. These are complicated and important issues. Worth a listen as we work to dig into what's at stake.
Millions of Americans are taking prescription drugs made in China and don't know it--and pharmaceutical companies are not eager to tell them. Several decades ago, penicillin, vitamin C, and many other prescriptions and over-the-counter products were manufactured in the United States. Antibiotics, antidepressants, birth control pills, blood pressure medicines, cancer drugs, among many others are made in China and sold in the United States. They examine the implications of our reliance on China on the quality and availability of vital medicines. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-unplugged/support

Check out CuriosityStream: https://curiositystream.com/ChinaUnscripted Use Code: CHINAUNSCRIPTED Did you know the US can't make its own penicillin? Or aspirin? China has dominated the global supply chain for medicine. And that came back to bite when the coronavirus pandemic struck. We were dependent on medical supplies of PPE's from China. And the Chinese Communist Party used that against us. Joining us today is Rosemary Gibson, co- author of China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America's Dependence on China for Medicine. When you think of all the things in your house that are "made in China", one thing you may not realize is how many medicines are. That bottle of aspirin? Made in China. Penicillin? Made in China. Even something as simple as Vitamin C is produced in China. And if that's not shocking enough, there's also a good chance your doctor doesn't even know where these medicines are being manufactured! Joining me is Rosemary Gibson, author of the book "China Rx", which chronicles how this began and how the Chinese developed it in stealth. Rosemary, a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, is a thoughtful and careful chronicler of this very alarming reality. How did the US let this happen? What about Chinese quality control? How has the pandemic played a role in all of this? Before you take that next pill, you'll want to hear this conversation.

When the coronavirus pandemic struck in the United States, the FDA was forced to closely monitor the medical product supply chain, including disruptions to supply or shortages of critical medical products in the U.S. because many of the components for those in-demand products are manufactured in China. In a statement in February 2020, the FDA said, “Since January 24, the FDA has been in touch with more than 180 manufacturers of human drugs, not only to remind them of applicable legal requirements for notifying the FDA of any anticipated supply disruptions but also asking them to evaluate their entire supply chain, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (the main ingredient in the drug and part that produces the intended effects, e.g., acetaminophen) and other components manufactured in China. Also, as part of our efforts, the FDA has identified about 20 other drugs, which solely source their active pharmaceutical ingredients or finished drug products from China. We have been in contact with those firms to assess whether they face any drug shortage risks due to the outbreak. None of these firms have reported any shortage to date. Also, these drugs are considered non-critical drugs.” In the book, “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine,” co-author, Rosemary Gibson, explains the dangers of relying on one country as a source of vital medicines. New Article By Jerome R. Corsi, PhD on corsination.com https://corsination.com/covid-20/ Coup de Grâce How COVID-20 Will Use Fauci Patents To Deliver a Devastating HIV-1 Attack to the Intestines Preceding a SARS Attack to the Lungs Dr Corsi hypothesizes COVID-20 re-engineering will be complete when a third element from HIV-1 research leading to patents bearing Fauci’s name will be added Boris has revealed that OBL was merely captured in Pakistan, was transported to Libya for interrogation in the Benghazi compound, and was subsequently turned over to Putin for disposal. Dr. Corsi interviews attorney and United States Constitution expert KrisAnne Hall regarding the implications of fighting a medical situation with unlawful and wholly unConstitutional action. Attorney Hall posted "Shelter in Place Orders - Things of Kingson" her website says it all, and captures the essence of today's interview: "The current application of State and local authority to mandate the closure of businesses and require the people to restrict their activities to a list of government approved venues under the threat of force and punishment, is antithetical to everything America was built upon. These orders are arbitrary, deny due process, and are rife with unbridled discretion. Arbitrariness is the quality of being "determined by chance, whim, or impulse, and not by necessity, reason, or principle." A shelter in place order that requires places of worship to close, where a finite number of people attend for less than a few hours once a week, but then claims that Wal-Mart and liquor stores, where a limitless number of people come and go every day, all day may remain open, is completely arbitrary. Where is the science, where is the reason that says that people sitting in a church are more susceptible to a virus than those who go to Walmart or the liquor store? The answer is simple, it doesn’t exist. The decision to close the church, a shoe store, or private vacation rental property, and not Walmart is based upon a whim and an impulse, not facts or reason. By legal standard a government’s actions are arbitrary and capricious when they are founded upon unreasonable grounds or made with without any proper consideration of circumstances, deny due process and prejudice substantial rights. Rosemary Gibson, author of "China Rx": "Millions of Americans are taking prescription drugs made in China and don't know it--and pharmaceutical companies are not eager to tell them. This is a disturbing, well-researched wake-up call for improving the current system of drug supply and manufacturing. Boris concluded by outing Judge Emmet Sullivan as having been blackmailed into his incomprehensible actions during the persecution of General Flynn, and how that will also be made manifest. Politifact joins the "parade of the punked" - FAKE NEWS Deep State truth deniers continue to attack Dr. Corsi and other conservatives. Fauci appeared before Congress yesterday and amplified his assault on medications that worked and pleaded for the sick and dying to hold out in their bunkers for vaccines that will never work. Boris outlines how former US President Barack Hussein Obama is at the heart of all of the hidden misdeeds of his nefarious administration. Obama launched a coup d'Etat against President Trump, and no matter how hard he, his Cabal co-conspirators, the Deep State, and the FAKE NEWS try, they cannot prevent the truth from being revealed. Decades after Anthony Fauci was a failed eader in the fight against HIV/AIDS, his record of failure, promises made, no solutions found. Tune in Monday through Friday at 11:00am EDT for another show. This is a disturbing, well-researched wake-up call for improving the current system of drug supply and manufacturing.Several decades ago, penicillin, vitamin C, and many other prescription and over-the-counter products were manufactured in the United States. But with the rise of globalization, antibiotics, antidepressants, birth control pills, blood pressure medicines, cancer drugs, among many others are made in China and sold in the United States. China's biggest impact on the US drug supply is making essential ingredients for thousands of medicines found in American homes and used in hospital intensive care units and operating rooms. The authors convincingly argue that there are at least two major problems with this scenario. First, it is inherently risky for the United States to become dependent on any one country as a source for vital medicines, especially given the uncertainties of geopolitics. For example, if an altercation in the South China Sea causes military personnel to be wounded, doctors may rely upon medicines with essential ingredients made by the adversary. Second, lapses in safety standards and quality control in Chinese manufacturing are a risk. Citing the concerns of FDA officials and insiders within the pharmaceutical industry, the authors document incidents of illness and death caused by contaminated medications that prompted reform. This probing book examines the implications of our reliance on China on the quality and availability of vital medicines." ...and thanks to Captured Elites like Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Democrat former President of the United States Bill Clinton, Democrat former Vice President of the Unites States Jo Biden, et al, the US is close to annihilation, but at least they became rich. “Millions of Americans are taking prescription and over-the-counter drugs made in China and don't know it and neither do their doctors. These are prescription drugs in the legal supply chain that are distributed to U.S. hospitals, sold in corner drug stores and grocery store pharmacies, and distributed to military hospitals and clinics around the world,” explains Rosemary Gibson. We cannot make aspirin in the United States. We cannot make penicillin in the United States. Nor can we make generic antibiotics. China's aim is to become the pharmacy to the world, and it is on track to achieve it. Join me as I talk with Rosemary Gibson, author of “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America's Dependence on China for Medicine” and Frank Gaffney Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Present Danger: China about the existential risks posed by the United States' dependence on China for drugs and essential healthcare supplies. “And I'm sure you may have seen the statement from the Chinese government media actually threatening to withhold drugs and to throw the United States into the ocean of hell of coronavirus. And there were threats before, but this the most brazen.” “So, here we have a situation where you have a global pandemic and the whole world depends on a single country for those core chemicals to make critical drugs.” If China shut the door on exports of medicines and their key ingredients and raw materials, U.S. hospitals and military hospitals and clinics would cease to function within months, if not days. China produces 10% of our generic drugs but more critically, almost 90% of the core chemicals and drug ingredients are controlled by China. The Global Pandemic is bringing home many unpleasant truths and this is one of the harshest. Learn more here.
China manufactures 80-90 percent of the chemicals used to make the generic drugs consumed in the U.S. We would run out of them in months if they were to stop the supply. Rosemary Gibson exposes this and more in her book, “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America's Dependence on China for Medicine.” China attained its dominance through illegal predatory pricing, directly under the nose of U.S. companies and politicians. But, due to Covid-19, this could all change.Support Hidden Truth Show by going to www.patreon.com/hiddentruthshow and pledging just $5/month and receive access to Jim and special content and a Hidden Truth cap!Website: http://www.hiddentruthshow.comFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/hiddentruthshowInstagram: http://www.instagram/hiddentruthshow.com
Interview Rosemary Gibson, author of China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine.
How is it possible that the global supply of medicine components is almost entirely controlled by China? How is this being used as leverage against other countries, especially the U.S.? What would happen if China decided to stop exporting drug ingredients, especially now, during the CCP virus, or coronavirus outbreak? Why are special interests like Big Pharma lobbying against a potential “Buy American” executive order? Is it possible that medicines manufactured in the US could actually be produced cheaper than using global supply chains, as most are today? In this episode, we sit down with Rosemary Gibson, senior advisor at the Hastings Center and author of “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America's Dependence on China for Medicine.” This is American Thought Leaders

China could effectively shut down America’s healthcare system within months given the one-party state’s “global chokehold” on the manufacturing of medicines and medical supplies, explained Rosemary Gibson, author of China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine. Gibson, senior adviser at the Hastings Center, offered her remarks on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour and special guest host Ed Martin. Mansour noted how the coronavirus outbreak in China has exposed America’s dangerous dependence on Chinese production of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, including an estimated 97 percent of all antibiotics and 80 percent of the active pharmaceutical ingredients needed for domestic drug production. Gibson said, “If China shuts the door on exports of medicines and the ingredients to make them, within a couple of months our pharmacies would be empty. Our healthcare system would cease to function. That’s how dependent we are.” Gibson added, “Say there’s a coronavirus outbreak in the United States, God forbid, and a lot of people end up in hospitals with severe cases. The medicines needed to care for them if they can’t breathe and are on a ventilator — fentanyl and propofol — [are made in China]. We depend on China for the raw materials. If they go into shock, the epinephrine and dopamine we need to care for them, we depend on China. If they have bacterial infections, we depend on China for the antibiotics.” Many over-the-counter supplements sold in the U.S. are at least partly manufactured in China, Gisbon noted. “We can’t make [vitamin C] here anymore. That comes from China.” America has lost much of its manufacturing apparatus for medicines to China via globalization, explained Gibson. “With our medicines, it’s not just the active ingredient [that is made in China]. It’s the raw chemicals, the molecules, the white powdery stuff, that we also depend on China for. That’s where China has the real global chokehold.” Gibson explained how generic drugs manufacturers around the world are dependent on China for raw materials. “Another shocking thing I discovered is that India and its huge generic [drug] industry — they’re the top generic producer in the world, although I think China’s going to overtake them in about five to ten years — even India depends on China,” Gibson stated.” [India’s] generic industry would shut down within weeks and months without those core components, and you see it in the Indian press, right now, that they’re already concerned about this because this coronavirus in China is really disrupting supply chains.” StemFood https://inspire.stemcellholistics.com DONATE: https://paypal.me/RocciStucci Rocci Stucci: http://StreamingTalkRadio.com STEM CELLS (CODE: Rocci or Rocky for discount): https://www.stemlightcenter.com/ https://www.southernstem.com/ KickAss Beef Jerky (Code: meatball for 10% off) https://kickassbeefjerky.com Verve Forever (CBD): http://bit.ly/2QIDBJN Larson's Quality Jigs: https://www.larsonsqualityjigs.com/ My Patriot Supply - http://bit.ly/2U9eTDL
In this episode, our guest is Rosemary Gibson, author of ChinaRx, senior advisor at the Hastings Center, and recipient of a 2019 Pinnacle Award for career achievement from the American Pharmacists Association Foundation. We discuss: - Why she wrote the book? Most Americans taking prescriptions or OTC meds have no idea where there medication came from or why that might be a concern. - How did she research this topic? even pharmacy leaders are in here - Lucinda Maine of AACP - Two major concerns in book: 1) risky for US to become dependent on any one country 2) lapses in safety standards and quality control - We're already starting to see more and more drug recalls - valsartan, ranitidine - Concerns about the Coronavirus and the supply chain - What are her hopes that the US will takeaway from your book? The US House has held Congressional hearings on the security of the pharmaceutical supply chain. Janet Woodcock, director of CDER, and others were key experts. It's been more than a year since we first examined China's grip on pharmaceutical manufacturing. While the United States remains dependent on China for everything from vitamins to antibiotics and cancer medications, there is growing recognition that there is a problem, and hearings on Capitol Hill are now planned to find solutions. In this episode, host Scott Paul revisits his conversation with Rosemary Gibson, who literally wrote the book on this issue. Photo by Getty Images
China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America's Dependence on China for Medicine. ASCP's SenioRx Radio Veronica Charles, Government Affairs, interviewing special guest and best selling author Rosemary Gibson. About China Rx: Millions of Americans are taking prescription drugs made in China and don't know it--and pharmaceutical companies are not eager to tell them. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Listen NowNine in 10 prescriptions are today filled using a generic drug saving Americans tens of billions annually. A significant amount of generic drugs, along with active ingredients in all drugs, are manufactured overseas. However, how safely or to what quality standards are these ingredients and generics produced? Bottle of Lies, published in May, tells the story of appalling practices foreign generic manufacturers use to produce these drugs at the most minimal cost. The work moreover provides a detailed account of Ranbaxy, the former India-based generic manufacturer that after eight years of investigation was fined a then record amount,$500 million, for significant fraud. The work questions or brings to serious doubt the FDA's ability to adequately inspect overseas generic manufacturers ensuring these drugs are safe for consumption in the US or around the world. Listeners may recall I interviewed coauthor Paul Weinberg in September 2017 concerning his related work, Blood On Their Hands, How Greedy Companies, Inept Bureaucracy and Bad Science Killed Thousands of Hemophiliacs and Rosemary Gibson this past December concerning her related, China Rx, Exposing the Risk of America's Dependence on China for Medicine. During this 37 minute interview. Ms. Eban provides an overview of Ranbaxy's manufacturing practices revealed by former employee and whistleblower, Dinesh Thakur. She explains the mindset, termed "Jugaad," used in India to produce generics. She discusses the adequacy of the 2013 US settlement with Ranbaxy , the role the Japanese firm, Daiichi Sankyo, a major Ranbaxy stakeholder, the FDA's ability to adequately inspect Ranbaxy and other generic manufacturers around the world, e.g., Cipla and Mylan, recent and future related Congressional action, how poor or inadequate manufacturing practices complicate remedying the drug shortage problem and what precautions consumers or patients can take before consuming generic drugs. Katherine Eban, an investigative journalist, is a Fortune magazine contributor and Andrew Carnegie fellow. Her articles on pharmaceutical counterfeiting, gun trafficking, and coercive interrogations by the CIA, have won international attention and numerous awards. She has also written for Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Self, The Nation, the New York Observer and other publications. Her work has been featured on 60 Minutes, Nightline, NPR, and other national news programs. She lectures frequently on the topic of pharmaceutical integrity. Her first book, Dangerous Doses: a True Story of Cops, Counterfeiters and the Contamination of America's Drug Supply, was named one of the Best Books of 2005 by Kirkus Reviews and was a Barnes&Noble Discover Great New Writers pick. Her account of reporting on 9/11 was anthologized in At Ground Zero: 25 Stories From Young Reporters Who Were There. Her work has also been awarded grants from the Alfred P. Welcome! My guest today is Rosemary Gibson, who is an author and renowned speaker and presenter on the subject of healthcare. Rosemary is currently the senior advisor at the Hastings Center, and the founding editor of Less is More narratives in JAMA internal medicine. In 2014, she was the recipient of the highest honor from the American Medical Writers Association in the field of medical communication. Her books include Medicare Meltdown: How Wall Street and Washington and Ruining Medicare and How to Fix it, The Battle over Healthcare, The Treatment Trap, and Wall of Silence. Tell us what the Hastings Center is and what you do there. The Hastings Center is a healthcare think tank that looks at ethical issues from the perspective of public interest. It’s a non-partisan, non-profit organization with whom I’m proud to be affiliated. We seek to inform the public on critical healthcare issues of the day. I do this work as a public service because we have the right to know! Where are healthcare costs headed for beneficiaries? Costs keep going up! The reason is that hospitals, doctors, and medical device companies can keep billing for whatever they want and as often as they want. There is no one to stop it! Their motto is “Bill, Baby, Bill!” Medicare is taking a larger and larger share of social security tax. Millions are facing a 50% increase in their Medicare Part B premium. Your Medicare card is the credit card for those doctors, hospitals, and medical device companies and you can’t do anything about it! When Medicare started, there were no healthcare companies on the Fortune 100 list, but now there are 15! The system is full of corruption that is off the charts! What is the answer? How can we stop this? You have to take charge of your health and not trust it to anyone else! Healthcare is something they want to SELL to all of us, and we cannot assume that they want the best for us. Rosemary calls our condition “The Marinated Mind,” because we’ve been marinated to believe that any procedure recommended by a doctor is ok. Baby boomers have been brainwashed to NEVER question what the doctor says. Rosemary teaches you her “exit strategy,” where you can respectfully decline a procedure, ask for more time to think about it, and discuss it with the doctor at a later date. Listen in for details! The truth has been hidden from us, but we need to become empowered to make our own decisions! Find Rosemary Gibson’s books at www.rosemarygibson.org or www.amazon.com. Medicare Nation listeners, you know I’m always reminding you that we each play a part in reducing Medicare fraud. We all have to do our part. Always examine your monthly summary statement for anything that looks suspicious. One more tip: It’s Medicare enrollment time, so STAY AWAY from the high-pressure seminars! Read the material and visit www.medicare.gov or www.samm.com for more information. Do your research or find the right advisor who has your best interests in mind. Thanks for listening! Listen NowWith the health care industry now accounting for 18.5 percent of the nation's GDP, or a far greater percentage than any comparable nation, combined with ever continuing access, coverage (now possibly moreover the issue of under-insurance) and quality (including the frequency of patient or iatrogenic harm) health care policy students are left to wonder to what extent has health care delivery or legitimate health care delivery been compromised or even undermined by medical commerce. During this 27 minute conversation Ms. Gibson explains what's meant by the Eisenhower-inspired "medical industrial complex" and her use of the phrase "privatized gains and socialized losses" in this context. She discusses the unwarranted influence of the health care industry in part by noting pharmaceutical industry behavior and the advent of so called "consumer directed health plans. Ms. Gibson also evaluates to what extent the ACA will strike a better balance between health care and medical commerce or again the "medical industrial complex." Listen NowIn 1999 the Institute of Medicine published "To Err Is Human," a report that shocked the medical establishment because it concluded as many as 98,000 Americans die annually from hospital caused medical errors. In 2000 the highly respected scholar Dr. Barbara Starfield estimated medical errors or adverse events actually amount to 225,000 deaths annually making them the 3rd leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer. Most recently a study published this past September in the Journal of Patient Safety estimated medical errors cause between 210,000 to 440,000 deaths annually. Added to these sobering estimates is the fact there's never been an actual count of how many patients have been killed by medical errors and what progress that has been made in reducing errors, or at least the growth in the number of errors, has been charterized as "frustratingly slow" and "agonizingly slow."During this 23 minute intereview Ms. Gibson discusses the prevalence of medical errors and why she believes the rate of medical harm is actually getting worse. She explains why she believes both the medical community's response as well as federal and state government responses have been inadequate and what is needed to reverse this extraordinary number of medical-related deaths.
