In this episode, I dive deep into the concept of "believing it's enough" - a crucial part of the mission experience that many struggle with. As an LDS mission coach, I've found that this idea of feeling adequate and believing you're doing enough is one of the trickiest parts for both preparing and returned missionaries. I share personal insights and analogies to help listeners overcome the natural human tendency to doubt ourselves and feel like we're falling short. Whether you're getting ready to serve, currently on a mission, or navigating life after your mission, the message is the same - you are enough. I encourage listeners to embrace their imperfections, show up authentically, and trust that their efforts and presence make a difference, even on the days they don't feel particularly "majestic." Rooted in principles of faith, self-compassion and the power of our thoughts, this episode aims to empower listeners to choose empowering beliefs about their worth and capabilities. By believing it's enough, we can find the fuel to keep going, grow, and make a meaningful impact - both on our missions and in every area of our lives. As always, if you found this episode helpful, I want to invite you to subscribe if you aren't already, share this episode with your friends and missionaries you know, and write a review. I know this work will help missionaries around the world and it would mean so much to me if you did. Until next week my friends. In this episode of the LDS Mission Podcast, episode number 138, we explore the intriguing question: Is love a verb? We delve into thoughts on love, sharing some personal insights along the way. In this episode, we challenge the common notion of love as an action. Instead we propose that love is, in fact, a feeling. One that we create within ourselves through our thoughts. Drawing on the self-coaching model, we focus on remembering that thoughts lead to feelings, and it's the emotion of love that fuels our actions. We discuss the impact of this perspective on relationships. But we also highlight the importance of understanding that we cannot control or force others to feel love through our actions. We conclude by encouraging listeners to focus on being "heart smart." Fostering love not just for others but also for oneself and for God. This episode provides a fresh and empowering perspective on the nature of love, urging listeners to embrace the idea that love is a feeling, not just a verb. It's new year. We've all got goals. We've all got new year's resolutions and we all have faint memories, maybe strong memories of all the previous times that we've tried to achieve things, and it's just not worked. If that's you, if you have a long history of not achieving the things that you set out in the new year, or achieving different things, or still achieving them but beating yourselves up for all the other things you didn't do, you are in the right place. We're going to be thinking about how we can use self coaching to make sure that we actually achieve our goals this year.
Hey friend! I hope you're having a good week and were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones!I am SO PUMPED about today's episode. This week was GOING to be an interview with an amazing life coach and DOCTOR who has been part of scholarly research studies that prove that what we do as certified coaches with our work really works and changes lives. BUT, she had to reschedule to another time, which is totally fine- and this actually makes this super special because but today you're going to get to see what it's like to listen to coaching on the private podcast. This special episode is an AMAZING coaching call that happened inside Wife Teacher Mommy Club and it is all about how to master the self coaching model! This coaching call was recorded on October 18th and I chose this model mastery call because we had some really awesome breakthroughs in this call and it's going to give you a much deeper understanding of the mindset model that we use. The self coaching model is the whole focus of this call. I also chose it because on this call it doesn't involve any actual coaching- a lot of times we'll have people raise their hand and come on to be coached and it's amazing and incredible BUT I also see it as a truly sacred work and we keep those calls inside the club since they are a bit more vulnerable at times for our members. But this will give you an awesome taste at what the workshop style calls in the club are like and what it would be like to be able to subscribe to the additional Wife Teacher Mommy CLUB private podcast. If you enjoy what you hear on this coaching call - I'd love for you to either be able to JOIN ME and engage with me on the chat in the next one- or if you just want more of this, if you want another Wife Teacher Mommy podcast to listen to where you get to dive in deeper and listen to coaching- head over to the link in the show notes or go to wifeteachermommy.com/club/ to learn more about how you can join us.Head over to the show notes: https://www.wifeteachermommy.com/podcast/self-coaching-model/Key points on how to master the self coaching model:A brief overview of what life coaching is and how it can help with all aspects of your lifeWhat the self coaching model is and how you can apply it to your lifeHow everyone can get what they want out of life coachingThe most powerful result or change is through a personal mindset shift How Wife Teacher Mommy Club can help you as your teacher life coaches

In this episode, we'll explore the power of mindset and how to transform your thoughts, feelings, and actions to align with the life you truly desire. As most of us have realized by now, sex education is sorely lacking in the US and most of the rest of the world! What we learn from most religions is a sex negative message—that there are a lot of rules about who you can have sex with, when you can have sex with them and what kind of sex acts are ok. Schools typically try to scare us into abstinence with talks about STIs and unwanted pregnancy. And then add in legislation in the US that targets LGBTQ people and women in a way that makes sex and love more difficult. It's no wonder we've got some baggage around this topic, huh? If you're ready to drop your sex-negative suitcases in the trash and relearn intimacy from a sex-positive perspective, listen in!In this episode you'll learn:Ways in which Heather (and maybe you too!) experienced sex-negativity in her upbringingThe beginner's mind: Wiping the slate clean of sex-negativityBuilding your own sex-positive belief set and putting it into practice. The new year is off to a strong start, but for many it can be frustrating because a goal or resolution was set in January, but by this point we are already over that goal. Why? Because we are unsure of how to keep it going and we aren't even sure as to WHY this goal was important to us to begin with. When we are secure in our WHY behind the goal, we can have better control over the thoughts that come up in our brain that want to persuade us otherwise. Our brain sure loves to play tricks with us and bring us back to our comfort zone- I mean that's just our primal roots at work. Using the thought model to do some self coaching can really make us aware of our goals on a regular basis and lead to long term success. What You'll Learn on this Episode: How to choose a meaningful why for attaining a specific goal 5 parts of the Self Coaching Model with examples Importance of looking at our end results to fill us with positive emotions and motivation to succeed The power of changing our thoughts to work for us Featured on this week's podcast: Book your discovery call here to explore working with me to get clear on what's holding you back in your weight loss journey so that we can get you started on the process right away and feeling confident at the front of the classroom. The Teen and Tween Parenting Podcast with Dr. Nikki Neretin/AKA Figuring Shit Out!
Hello Lovelies, This is an exciting episode where we go through the Self Coaching Model which is a tool developed by Brooke Castillo my teacher at The Life Coach School which will change your life with its ease and insight. Young adult commitiment: I joyfully promise, from this moment on, to never give up my dreams and goals. I choose to remember always that the whole world is mine to explore, and I need never be alone in figuring it out and making it just right. That I was born worthy and loveable without condition and whatever brought me to this place is just the journey to my present and future self and not the sum total of who I am or who I will become. We also go through lesson 4 in a Course in Miracles-This starts the process of knowing that your thoughts are changable and optional depending if you chose to continue to practise them or not. "These thoughts do not mean anything. They are like the things I see in this room, on this street, from this window, in this place. 1. Unlike the preceding ones, these exercises do not begin with the idea for the day. ²In these practice periods, begin with noting the thoughts that are crossing your mind for about a minute. ³Then apply the idea to them. ⁴If you are already aware of unhappy thoughts, use them as subjects for the idea. ⁵Do not, however, select only the thoughts you think are “bad.” ⁶You will find, if you train yourself to look at your thoughts, that they represent such a mixture that, in a sense, none of them can be called “good” or “bad.” ⁷This is why they do not mean anything. Spend a minute a few times a day going through this exercise and try to suspend belief that you have related to the value you subscribe to each thought. If you want to unf*ck your mind and figure sh*t out so you can live the passionate life or your dreams without jumping off the roof contact me at: nikki@drnikkineretin.com or schedule a Figure sh*t out together session and feel 10%better quickly and see if you want to work together. #nikkineretin#drnikki#drnikkineretin#unfuckyourbrain#figuringshitout#youngadults#anxiety#findyour passion#depression --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/drnikkineretin/message

While these certifications have helped me and my clients in many ways; what was missing for them and what was long missing for me on my personal transformational journey; was the ENERGETIC component. When it comes to transformation and resetting habits and beliefs; mindset is good for about 20% of it. Looking at and feeling into the Energetics can help heal the other 80. We have 60,000 thoughts per day and when we aren't paying attention to them, they can have a negative impact on our lives. I used to beat myself up when I heard myself thinking negative thoughts, but I learned that it's actually pretty normal for our brain to do that. What matters more than "thinking positive" is thinking ON PURPOSE. Today, I'll teach you a tool I use with my clients to show them how their thoughts are impacting their self-esteem, their confidence, their relationships, and everything in their lives. In this episode, I mention Brooke Castillo and The Life Coach School, where I was trained and certified as a Life Coach. This is where I learned about the Self-Coaching Model. Because of this, my life is forever changed. To learn more about how to work together privately, click here. To hack yourself and become the person that you want to become, you need to do three things. First, learn your current patterns for how you show up in the world. Second, you interrupt the old patterns Lastly, you build the new and live-in to the person that you want to be This podcast focuses on discovering your current patterns. I teach you the best tool for self awareness. Once you are aware of your patterns, you can change them. The Self-Coaching Model (created by Brooke Castillo) is the tool you need to hack yourself. The Model has 5 parts. Circumstances Thoughts Feelings Actions Results Circumstances are outside of you and factual. They are the situations of your life. Circumstances trigger thoughts. Your thoughts are the meaning that you give to the facts. Your thoughts create feelings/emotions. Your feelings fuel your actions (or inaction). Your actions create results. Or rather, your thoughts, feelings and actions create the results that you get in your life. The circumstances are out of your control, but the rest of the model is within your control to change. Spend the next week looking for your models. You are living them out everyday. Watch them happen. Look for the patterns and habits you have for the way you think, feel and act, and then in the next podcast we'll talk about how to interrupt your patterns!

What results are you getting in your lives? Are you becoming the person you want?In this podcast I am going to help you uncover some of your beliefs you may not even know you are thinking. I want to help you see how your beliefs are so deeply rooted that you are mostly like taking action unconsciously.I share the 4 steps you take to find your beliefs, and how to get to a new belief that gets you to who you really want to be.
Circumstances are things outside of our control. They are indisputable facts that everyone in the world would agree on. Circumstances are always 100% completely neutral. The circumstances themselves cannot cause us any pain, sadness or regret. It is when we have a THOUGHT about a circumstance that causes us to FEEL something. As you learn to direct your thoughts, you can feel LOVE for yourself, for God and everyone in your life. This is the work that I do in coaching. It would be my honor and privilege to help you!

We are pleased to introduce you to Aubin Palmer. Aubin is a Certified Life Coach, and she helps women change their thought habits to create the life they desire. Aubin walks us back to when she had attained all the things and titles she thought she wanted: Nurse, wife, Mother, ect. when she realized that even with all these things, she still felt a lack of satisfaction in life. That's when she discovered coaching through podcasts she was listening to, and she was introduced to thought work. She is certified and uses the "Self Coaching Model" from the Life Coach School. Aubin's niche is working with women who are Working Moms. We discuss the unspoken narratives that being a Mom and being a business owner are mutually exclusive, and to be good at one, means the other suffers. So yeah... we dip into mom-guilt quite a bit. If you've ever experienced that feeling, this episode is for you. Because, what Aubin shows us, is that both parts are an important and inspired part of you. You are a MomBoss. You can be your whole self, and in fact, being your whole self is what will lead to your success. We walk through several personal examples on how our thoughts dictate our feelings, and our subconscious thoughts can run our life and belief system with out us even being aware. Aubin uses the CTFAR model, which we discuss in detail. Circumstances are neutral, our Thoughts about our circumstances is what creates our Feelings. Our Feelings dictate our Actions, and that leads to the Results we are getting in life. So, in order to create the life we desire, we must bring awareness and curiosity to our thoughts. The Model has changed everything in my life over the past four years. I've become much healthier physically, improved my relationships, grown my business (even during the pandemic), felt so much better emotionally, and much more. So, I'm passionate about sharing it with anyone who could benefit, even if only half as much as I have. Life will continue to present each of us with unexpected, sometimes unwelcome surprises, challenges, and losses. It's not always easy to understand what the underlying cause of a problem is, which is critical to identifying and implementing a long-term solution. Also, we often think that if we simply take decisive action to fix things, all will improve. But the truth is that if we don't change our underlying mindset and engage in coaching on causes rather than symptoms, even if it is self-coaching, the change is not likely to stick. I've spent many years studying Zen Buddhism, Stoicism, cognitive behavioral therapy, countless spiritual traditions and personal growth teachers. Then I finally found one model, one tool, that brought everything I had absorbed together in a framework I could use and apply daily to identify the root cause of my problems and to take action that creates lasting change. And now, I'm able to use it with my coaching clients to support them in transforming their lives in whatever ways they choose. In this episode, I offer an introduction to The Model, also known as The Self-Coaching Model, which was developed by Master Certified Coach Brooke Castillo, founder of The Life Coach School, where I proudly hold a life coaching certification, in addition to my certification with the International Coaching Federation. We delve into and analyze the five steps of The Self-Coaching Model and learn how to apply it to our daily struggles. We also explore why mere circumstances can turn into negative results in our lives, even though they don't have to, and we discover how Castillo's model can help us be far more intentional, present, and peaceful in our lives. Tune in and listen to Episode 2 of Growth & Gratitude to discover this powerful tool that can help you get a different perspective on what's between you and your growth. In this week's episode, I teach you a fundamental tool, created by my teacher Brooke Castillo from the Life Coach School where I was certified, however it's based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. And it's really this universal truth, it's a helpful tool to help manage our minds so we're not just believing everything we think and feel. It's essential for any type of personal growth, however for binge eating in particular, it really helps identify those binge-causing thoughts, which is key to recovery. The tool is called the self-coaching model, or what we often refer to as simply ‘the model', and it's this truth that in the world, there are circumstances that occur. Things happen or just exist. And all of these things are actually neutral and don't innately have a bunch of moralistic meaning to them, until we give them meaning with our thoughts. These neutral circumstances are things that are factual with no opinions or hyperboles brought in. They could be proven in a court of law. And they just are. For example, there is a cup of coffee on my desk. The sun is shining. Those are what we're calling circumstances. When the circumstance happens, or even if we just remember an existing circumstance, our brain offers up some thoughts. Often these thoughts are subconscious, they happen without us really being aware of them. But when we think these thoughts, we have feelings because of the thoughts – not because of the circumstance itself. And when we feel a certain feeling, often that will drive us to act or not act in a certain way. And that action or inaction, creates certain results in our lives. So the process is: a neutral circumstance exists, then we think a thought about that circumstance, that thought causes a feeling, that feeling drives an action or inaction, and that action or inaction creates the results in our lives. Zooming out, we can infer that our thoughts create our results, our circumstances do not. This universal truth greatly impacts our lives and empowers us to not be at the mercy of our circumstances and our feelings. If you've been following me for a while, you know I teach the CTFAR “Self-Coaching” model*. Here's the model:C = Circumstance T = Thought F = Feeling A = Action R = Result The basic gist being that you can choose the way you think about your circumstances and those thoughts will create a feeling which will fuel your actions which will get you your results. But what if we applied the model to our cases? I did just that in a recent Case Workshop and it blew everyone's mind so I got Coach Jody and H2H Crew Member Dave Maxfield on Zoom to talk about all the ways we can use the model as we prep for trial. Awareness, Acceptance, and IntentionalityHave you ever been dissatisfied and launched into action to try to fix it?I'm going on a diet. I'm starting an exercise program. I'm getting a new job. I'm getting a coach. These are all examples of launching into DOING new or more or different things. The problem is, if you haven't gained awareness and acceptance, you're basically throwing darts in the dark.Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”Gaining awareness, acceptance, and intentionality will help you level up your consciousness.Observer EffectIn science, there's a phenomenon called The Observer Effect. Basically, scientists noticed that by simply observing an experiment, it changed the outcome. By simply observing things in your life, awareness, you can completely change your outcomes. Observation is a powerful tool when it comes to awareness. Position yourself as an observer and start watching and being aware of what's going on in your life. Awareness and the Self-Coaching ModelI love using the Self-Coaching Model from Brooke Castillo to help me develop awareness. Acceptance Is NecessarySometimes when you gain awareness, it's tempting to want to launch right into intention and to change everything that you've found that you don't like. You might find that once you have better awareness, you don't like what you find. This might lead to shame and disappointment. The key is to accept what you find. It's okay. Nothing has gone wrong. If you cannot accept where you are and what you've learned from awareness, it's because of your own judgments about it. Intention Is PowerOnce you've gained awareness, and once you've accepted what you've found, you can now move into intention. Most people live in a reactionary state. This is one of the things that keeps parents stuck when it comes to BEing the parent of their dreams. They are so busy reacting and putting out fires that they don't have any mental and emotional bandwidth to be intentional. The goal is to be intentional with our energy and to do the important things that are not urgent. Sure, there will still be some urgent and important things that come up, but as you become more intentional, you will find that you have fewer fires to put out. The BE-DO-HAVE ModelYou'll find that as you develop awareness and acceptance, and move forward with intentionality, you will find it easier to operate from the BE-DO-HAVE Model. Typically, when you try to parent from a place of ignorance rather than awareness, you try to focus more on the DOING. When you try to parent from a place of judgment rather than acceptance, you tend to focus more on the HAVING. When you follow the simple pattern of First Awareness, Second Acceptance, and Third Intention, it shifts your focus to your BEING. The Power of Awareness, Acceptance, and IntentionalityOne of the things that I've found is that this simple process of awareness, acceptance, and intentionality makes life easier as a parent. It positions you as the hero rather than the victim. It will help to be responsible for your results rather than blaming or accusing others. This will help you be more intentional about how you think, feel, and act, rather than simply reflecting the thoughts, feelings, and actions of those around you. How To Solve Any Problem. That's a pretty lofty claim! I'm talking about you and your brain! I personally think that all things can be made whole, complete, and right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. But in this podcast, I'll be talking and sharing in the context of what you can do with your own thoughts, thinking, and brain and how you can actually solve any problem for yourself (since we are the only ones we can change). As a certified Coach with The Life Coach School, I'll be sharing a tool that I've learned and been trained with - The Self Coaching Model - created by Brooke Castillo, who is the owner and founder of the school. This is a claim that Brooke makes after coaching thousands of clients and has never had it not work. I too have found that it is a tool that has not only changed me but also my clients and students that use and implement it on a daily basis. In this podcast, I demonstrate the Self-Coaching Model. If you'd like to have your own mini-session with me to try out coaching, you can go to www.stacyharmer.com/contact to send me a message, and we can get that set up! I think everyone needs a coach, and this is a super powerful process!
