Hey Friend, Thank you for downloading this episode! Its going to be a little bit different that what I normally do, but I think youll get a lot out of it. Like so many of us in recovery, I have felt really frustrated at times with my own negative repeating patterns. Procrastinating on self-care, spending too much time consuming information instead of acting on it, and at times, feeling really disappointed in myself. Its a really frustrating experience to recognize when Im feeling stuck and powerless to change, especially when I have tried just about every form of therapy, and read hundreds of books over the last 3 decades. But over the last couple of years, I have been practicing parts work, specifically polarized parts. An example of this is where I have an ambitious part of me that wants to get stuff done, but also a distractor part that causes me to get overwhelmed and feel paralyzed. It has been through this parts work that I have been able to resolve this polarization and resistance, to be more productive in the last 12 months than I have in YEARS. I have written a book, been consistent in the gym, my self-care practices, and created a new program that Ill share with you in a moment. In todays episode, I invited Cece Sykes to join me on the podcast to do a demonstration of this parts work. Cece has been working with the founder of IFS for the last 20 years and I consider her to be the leading expert on polarization. I believe in this work so much, that its the foundation of The Inner Compass Program, which opens for enrollment on 2/16. The focus of the course will be to use parts work to resolve internal resistance so that we can actually take action on the knowledge we have and prioritize our most important goals. If you have been searching for the missing piece, and feeling like you need something more, then Id like to invite you to join me in this new community. Just visit Innercompassprogram.com/waitlist and youll be the first one in line when enrollment opens. So without further delay, please enjoy this episode with Cece Sykes. =J

In this episode, we're diving into how to create the life you desire. To show that you can create any experience, let's consider a negative example. Think of someone who's been altered by a traumatic event. If an event can change someone drastically, it proves you have the power to alter yourself in any direction you choose. Most people operate at a baseline frequency, comfortable but not necessarily optimal. Your actions and thoughts need to align with who you want to be. It's easy to lower your thoughts to match your actions, but harder to elevate your actions to match your highest thoughts. Consistent actions and unwavering belief are crucial for change. Your current life fits your existing pattern, good or bad. Changing this will create friction. Whether it's friends becoming resistant or familiar comforts becoming obstacles, you must remain steadfast in your new pattern. Famous individuals aren't necessarily the best at what they do but are the most aligned in belief, thought, and action. Friction and tension are necessary for growth. Believing you are a millionaire or a healthy person means acting in alignment with those identities, even when it's uncomfortable. Resistance will always be present, but with consistent effort, you'll grow stronger. Just like lifting weights, the more you practice, the easier it becomes. Eventually, what once was difficult becomes a warm-up. The military instills a belief system to mold great soldiers. Similarly, you can become the commander of your frequency. Look at your current thoughts and actions objectively. Are they aligned with who you want to be? If not, change them. A positive mindset isn't about being happy all the time. It's about maintaining a high frequency. Write down your ideal life five years from now, including how you look, what you have, and how you feel. Then, start acting like that person today. Chasing things will never satisfy you. Becoming the person you aspire to be will. Your internal state is your greatest asset – it's the only thing you truly control. Align your mind and actions, and the right things will be attracted to you. - Henry -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support

Many people are raised with less-than-ideal parental role models. This background and baggage doesn't mean you can't embrace positive parenting methods to become the best role model for your kids. Today's guest is Maria Riegger, a corporate and banking attorney and parenting coach and expert. Maria shares her journey to learn the best parenting methods to build trust, cultivate healthy parent-child relationships, and become the parent she wished she had as a child. Maria's focus is to help parents overcome the negative patterns of their childhood to become amazing parents with a strong bond and connection with their children. Building this bond early in life helps parents and children navigate the challenging adolescent years and still stay connected and able to communicate. Maria discusses the importance of reparenting oneself and offers insights into providing emotional support and validation to children. She also delves into her passion for writing, how it served as an escape during her difficult childhood, and how she turned it into a career, with both fiction and nonfiction books under her belt. She highlights her parenting books, which incorporate spirituality and astrology, providing positive parenting advice for parents of children with specific energies. Tune in to this practical and inspiring episode as Maria shares her wisdom on redefining parenting and becoming the best versions of ourselves for our children. About the Guest:Maria Riegger is based in the Washington, DC area. Trained as a banking/corporate attorney (but please don't hold that against her), she is now an author and parenting expert. Maria is a Gemini whose head has always been in the clouds. From a young age, she was scolded for not paying attention. When she was bored, she would make up stories in her head. She has been writing since she was about thirteen years old. A rocky childhood, including the death of a parent, led Maria to consider how to be a better parent in a crazy world. In short, more laughs and positive connections and less dictating and criticizing. Parents should parent with the child's particular needs in mind, rather than the parents' ego needs. An irreverent Gen X'er, in addition to parenting books, Maria writes gritty contemporary romance and romantic suspense, with plenty of sarcasm.
