Rafael Devers continued to hammer Yankees pitching. Tarik Skubal continued to make a case for the AL Cy Young Award. And Paul Skenes continued to make history, becoming the first No. 1 Draft pick named to the All-Star Game the very next season. On today's episode: Act I: THE BIG STORIES: (0:55- 6:24) Rafael Devers crushed two more homers to give him 16 in his career at Yankee Stadium. They came a day after he reached 1,000 career hits. Boston's 3-0 win on Sunday Night Baseball delivered a series victory over the reeling Yankees. Tarik Skubal of the Tigers punctuated his All-Star selection with perhaps his best game in a season filled with big games. The AL Cy Young candidate fanned a career-high 13 batters across seven innings to complete a weekend sweep of the Reds. Skubal joined Mickey Lolich in Tigers lore as the only Detroit pitchers with 13 strikeouts, zero walks and no more than one run allowed in a game. Act II: WHIPAROUND: (6:24- 8:02) Paul Skenes continues to do things never before seen in baseball. The latest? The Pirates right-hander became the first player drafted No. 1 to become an All-Star the following season. He was among more than 30 first-timers named to next week's game. On the opposite end, Royals catcher Salvador Perez was chosen for the ninth time -- on the day he got his 1,500th career hit. The Phillies led all teams with seven players selected. Act III: LOOKING AHEAD: (8:02- 9:18) Chris Sale became an All-Star again at age 35 in his revival season with the Braves. Tonight, as he continues his bid to be the NL starting pitcher, he'll take on the D-backs on MLB Network at 9:40 p.m. ET. But first, at 7 ET on the Network, tune in for a celebration of the life of Giants legend Willie Mays. Welcome back to the Bill Bradley Collective, where it is rivalry week, and with baseball back in action what better athletic struggle of epic proportion to profile than that between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. Likely the most visible rivalry professional sports has to offer and one with it's geographic profile at the center of the BBCollective Universe, Sox/Yanks is more than a century old with hostilities perhaps hitting their peak within the last twenty years. The sale of a guy named Ruth from Boston to New York altered the baseball narrative for the next 100 years plus. Four Boston early 20th-century championships gave way to 85 years of subsequent Yankee dominance. But along came 2004, where the Sox staged the greatest comeback in the history of postseason sport and set the stage for a run that made them MLB's most successful to now 21st century franchise. You know the players. Williams/DiMaggio. Fisk/Munson. Yaz/Reggie. Jeter/Ortiz. You know the fights. Spaceman/Nettles. Zimmer/Pedro. A-Rod/Varitek. You know the personalities. Clemens and Schilling. Rivera and Buckner. Martin and Francona. This week, you get a Collective cross-examination of the Boston Red Sox/New York Yankees rivalry through estimations of their greatest players, greatest games, and their vast economic advantages over much of baseball in the modern era. “Yankees Suck, “Boston Sucks,” this week, on the Bill Bradley Collective.

Welcome to Episode 28! We start the episode off discussing the utterly predictable reaction from the left after Roe vs. Wade, especially the racist attacks against Justice Clarence Thomas. The left isn't interested in a discussion, just spreading their intolerance of any alternative opinion. We then segue into how this was also shown in the woke tech world, including an employee fired for joking about bodegas, and a recent TB personal experience. Next we discuss two related white guilt stories. Strangely, the creator of the hit TV show Friends now believes the show was "too white" and thus has started donating to diversity scholarships. We saw a similar situation with Netflix's CEO - funding scholarships at his PWI (Predominately White Institution - more looney left language) and thus he gifted $120 Million to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. NBA free agency has begun and we check in on Kevin Durant requesting a trade from the Nets, reaffirming the bizarre situation where NBA players making $50 Million a year are unhappy. We also talk a little Sox-Yanks, as TB's Bronx Bombers look like the World Series favorite. We finish up with a check-in on The Great Biden Depression - consumers have essentially stopped spending beyond gas and food, sending us straight into a recession - and then have a laugh about the recent ridiculousness of Fauci. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support

Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: River Hounds Defeated Toronto FC 2 last weekend 2-1. F Neco Brett has been named to the USL Team of the week. Indy Eleven Professional come to Highmark Stadium. 2 for 1 tickets for Mother's Day #MomsOnTheMon. Next week on Wednesday the 16th the U.S. Open Cup begins in Eire against the Commodores FC. The Riverhounds in 3rd place in Group A with 7MP, 10GF, 3GA, 15 points. In MLB news, the Yankees/Red Sox game saw the Yanks win 17 of 18. They are tied for first place in the AL East with their 5 come-from-behind-wins this season. In other words, it's a typical Sox/Yanks series with a 4 hr game, and a battle from the beginning. Both teams are at .714% for wins, which is unheard of in baseball this time of year. It was a no-hitter in Cananda for Seattle. Jame Paxton throws 3rd NoNo in third country, this time being attacked by a Bald Eagle. Jason Day won the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Golf Course with a -12 in the warm-up to The Players at TPC Sawgrass in Jax FL. Mickelson and Woods are paired together on Day 1 at 1:52pm. Speith, Mcllroy and D.J. with other notables in the AM as well as some in the PM. The Pirates had a big come-from-behind win in Chicago playing the White Sox. They also won 10-6 over the W Sox. Both wins were come-from-behind in the 9th. The Bucs are winning against the teams they should be and taking a shelling against the teams they should be. The team isn't bad. They need tweaked in the bullpen and the offense needs to be more consistent. Cutch comes home for the weekend. I believe that he will have a super warm welcome. The NBA Confrence Finals are set with Cleveland and Boston in the east and Golden State and Houston. In NHL news, there is a Game 7 between Nashville and Winnipeg, with the Vegas Golden Knights awaiting the winner. The Crapitols and Lightning are in the east Finals. Steve's Penguins Beard is gone. The Pens played their best. Kessel has played most of the second half of the season and all the playoffs with injury. Brassard got injured in the last week of the season and spent all playoffs also playing with injury. The Caps played a hell of a series and their D was tough. The Pens D, mainly Letang, made some dumb plays, and the Caps played better. I'm mad, but not upset. For over 1000 days the Pens were Champions!!!
