Next, as two people who have ridden the NYC subway many times, we discuss the epic gaslighting involved in the Jordan Neely story. Welcome to Episode 44! We have a special show for the listeners. We brought on two students from Boston College, which was recently in the news for their Furry Professor, who assigned students to come to class in furry suits while teaching a "Beast Literature" course. In addition to that story, we touch on more Woke campus life, including how the school is turning their back on their Catholic values, how DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives are elevated over everything else, and a check-in on just how woke professors and the student body are today. Instead of simply covering this obvious #WokeInTheWild furry story earlier on the show, we decided to reach out to the university students to talk. We'd love to have on more college students sharing their experiences, so for any listeners out there interested, contact us on Twitter @TheWokeAntidote, and we will also be reaching out to more colleges as they come up in the news. Tragic news struck the nation on Monday as the US experienced yet another mass shooting. In this event-focused episode we discuss: 1) How the media coverage of this particular tragedy - a transgender person targeting a Christian school - differed significantly from previous shootings 2) Why we think this specific shooting happened, including many themes from our previous shows 3) What can be done about it in the future We aimed to have a long-form, thoughtful conversation free of political bias, where we searched for explanations and solutions, and we hope you feel the same. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-woke-antidote/support

Welcome to a special Episode 39! For a wide ranging conversation about the current sad state of affairs in Western Society, we brought in friend of the show Joey from the Canadian Bitcoiners Podcast. Joey routinely provides astute commentary on his podcast and Twitter feed, and we think our listeners will appreciate hearing his perspective on a variety of topics. There's been a decline in expectations in society. Lazy parenting and our education system are failing younger generations. Raising kids has been outsourced to the state, teachers and media - which often don't have their best interests at heart. And children aren't being protected from addictions to technology and social media. (Start-34:20) Why are men in such trouble? They're increasingly addicted to drugs, have fewer friends and aren't graduating from college. There's also been a deterioration of relations between men and women, resulting in less family formation and increased loneliness. (34:20-53:05) High school girls are depressed at alarming rates. Social media, unrealistic media standards and porn are contributing to a sexualized society with less people having sex, hurting both men and women. Couples are taking relationships less seriously in a search for instant gratification. (53:05-1:06:45) Taylor Lorenz's latest tweets exemplify today's doomsday messaging. Kids today are told they can't climb out of poverty and that climate change will end the world. Is it really capitalism run amok, or do people not have correct information about the current economy and society? (1:06:45-1:13:45) There's a place for government to help, but how much is too much? Are we overly relying on the government rather than ourselves? Are we perpetuating a culture of reliance? (1:13:45-1:21:05) Joey gives us a check-in on Canada. There's been a “vibe shift” where more people are realizing Canada has real issues in their economy, on crime, with politicians and more. (1:21:05-1:34:25) We finish with Joey's bitcoin outlook. We're in a late stage fiat money era where the USD is losing global hegemony and our politicians are looting from taxpayers, which is getting people interested in a non-government controlled money. People are looking for a better way to store wealth, and many are just one step away from the realization that bitcoin may the the answer. (1:34:25-end) Thanks for listening! Welcome to Episode 38! We know it's been awhile and we are getting back on track to deliver this pod to you as the wokeness accelerates in 2023. We start off with a discussion of the Bizarre Balloons - are they UFOs, Chinese spying, government lying, or all or none of the above? We can't tell what anymore. Next we laugh at the absurdity of the woke elite at Davos, saying climate change is our greatest threat but taking private jets there. Are they purposefully getting America and the West to commit economic suicide? We then touch on the train chemical spill - why is this getting very little attention, why can't we stop these from happening nationwide, and why is Mayor Pete our Transportation Secretary? We weigh in on these questions and more. We then transition to discussing ChatGPT and Woke AI (Artificial Intelligence) - this could lead to serious trouble for humanity if it continues. And we wrap-up our current events discussion talking the Epic Gaslighting that was Joe Biden's State of the Union speech. We then check-in on the massive layoffs going on in the Woke tech world, and TB takes us inside the belly of the beast, while SB gives his financial perspective on why companies are seeing their stock prices soar on the job cuts. One such company is Disney, which after going so woke it had to fire its CEO, is now cutting $5.5 Billion of annual costs to attempt to right the ship. We'll see if it works. We finish the pod laughing about the latest dumb comments from CNN's Don Lemon before discussing whether Biden will be running in 2024, or will he get Cuomo'd, used for a purpose and never to be heard from again. And we close with a #WokeInTheWild on the left once again making a play for your children. Thanks for listening, and please rate us 5 stars, subscribe and share with family and friends! Welcome to Episode 37! We start off with a deep dive into Elon's reign at Twitter, including the recently released Twitter Files. Elon is bringing free speech to the social media platform whether far left journalists and haters like it or not. We are now seeing that Twitter was essentially being used as an operating subsidiary of the government, which likely comes as no surprise to most Woke Antidote listeners, but nonetheless is excellent to see out in the open. We are both feeling quite positive about the direction of the country with Elon promoting free speech so heavily. (0-37:00) Next we cover some large scale #DefundingTheWoke. Through a combination of economic weakness (thanks Bidenflation!), structural industry changes (people dropping cable TV subscriptions) and elevated investments in streaming (causing significant cash burn), media company earnings are down significantly. Every big company, including Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery (which owns CNN) is cutting costs drastically. While that will help - and a lot of woke employees are gone - we'll see if these companies fully embrace getting rid of wokeness to help their bottom lines. Disney's new (and former) beloved CEO Bob Iger is already signaling Disney will be going less woke, with DeSantis already having a cultural win against his predecessor in Florida. We then update our Trump vs. DeSantis thoughts, where SB is discouraged by the recent Trump NFT release. (38:00-1:06) We next cover the FTX scandal, where it appears as if $10 Billion was stolen from customers and much of that was funneled into far left politicians and media outlets. The founder knew that donating to liberals would mean very little scrutiny of his companies' actions. (1:06-1:17) We finish up with a Sports Corner on TB's Yankees/Giants and SB's Red Sox/Patriots (1:17-1:33) and a look at a bizarre show airing on TLC starting this January, before closing out with a message of hope for how positive things are going, but also how we need to progress from here. We're back! After a long hiatus Tech Bro (TB) and Stocks Bro (SB) are once again here to break down the crazy Woke World in 2022. In today's show we hit on two major topics: The Mid-terms and Elon Musk owning Twitter. What went wrong for Republicans? Why did they perform so poorly - messaging, bad candidates, possibly cheating? We dive into a variety of theories. And are there any silver linings? We also #EmbraceDebate on both the viability of some Trump-backed candidates and Trump vs. DeSantis for 2024. You don't want to miss this. Next, we rejoice in the exciting rollercoaster that has been Elon Musk owning Twitter. Free speech is on the rise while woke employees are being shown the door. In fact, Elon firing 50-75% of Twitter staff might be the largest ever #DefundingTheWoke. We have high hopes for what he'll bring to the table in the future, and we will be sure to hold him accountable if he doesn't deliver - but we think he will. Welcome to Episode 35! We begin the show by discussing Joe Biden's dark and unhinged speech last week. We give our theories for why the Brandon administration wanted a spectacle like this, including our take that they're using this as a mid-term strategy. It's a sad day in America when one political movement demonizes another like this, especially as part of a political strategy to remain in power. We next discuss the recent trend of tech worker TikToks going viral. In these videos, tech workers are seen doing almost no work yet receiving insane amounts of perks. Having experience in the field, TB (Tech Bro) takes us through what he's actually experienced in tech and how accurate these videos are. We have our first Sports Corner in awhile discussing the NFL. TB's Giants and SB's Patriots aren't in great positions, and after ranting about that we discuss other storylines we're looking forward to this season. SB then gives an update on a recent student debt debate he had with some reddit commies in r/billsimmons. We finish up with a ReWokeables looking at more #DefundingTheWoke going on at CNN, plus Sam Harris tripling down with more absurd, anti-Trump comments. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 34! There's so much news swirling but we decided a full hour on the Student Loan Debt Crisis was needed following Biden's recent moves. Both of us bring different perspectives on this issue, including TB's personal student loan experience, SB's finance background, and of course what you know and love: deep, thoughtful looks at the core issues of the country and possible solutions to solve them. So come along for the ride on our second Societal Deep Dive, and reach out to us on Twitter @TheWokeAntidote to share your perspective! Topics covered include: College is a wealth transfer from the middle class to the elite; Woke admins and hedge fund managers are the real beneficiaries of student debt relief; This forgiveness will only encourage more borrowing in the future; Why is college so expensive in the first place; Student loans vs mortgages and how predatory student lending is like debt-fueled Private Equity leveraged buyouts; What we recommend for how to solve the issue rather than the band-aid that is short-term relief. Welcome to Episode 33! We start with a eulogy for Liz Cheney's political career after she got blown out in her Republican primary. This signals conservative Americans are finally waking up to the fact that many Republicans do not represent them, and it's time to stop electing establishment Republicans, also known as Never-Trumpers or RINOs (Republicans in Name Only). We next discuss two stories focused on a similar theme: liberal hypocrisy. Sam Harris, a "moral" voice on the left, stated this week that the media was justified in hiding the Hunter Biden story because Trump was so bad. Once liked by many including SB, Sam developed a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome years ago and has never recovered; indeed it appears to have gotten worse. TB then updates the audience on the happenings at IGN, a gaming website message board, including some outrageous hypocrisy when it comes to the American Flag vs. the Gay Pride flag. We celebrate the best #DefundingTheWoke yet - Brian Stelter is gone from CNN! His show was cancelled and he was fired. The new parent company of CNN, Warner Bros. Discovery, has a lot of debt to pay off, and they can no longer afford to be Woke. We also laugh at a parody-esque Stephen King tweet defending Stelter, or as he's commonly referred to, Mr. Potato Head. Next, we get into a societal deep dive on Elon Musk's recent tweet, "Being a Mom is just as important as any career." We're glad Elon said it and we hope there's more support by popular figures for women choosing stay-at-home motherhood. We also theorize the pressure to be a career woman and "beat the patriarchy" is a cause of higher rates of depression among woman than men. To finish up, we discuss feedback on our recent Trump vs. DeSantis debate in which TB convinced a listener to vote Ron over Don! But we both agree, either will be much better than Biden and the debate is more about who is strategically a better fit to beat the Democrats in 2024. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 32! We begin with the top story of the week and what may be the top story of the year, the Trump Raid. We think this marks the end of the US as a first world country and sets a horrible precedent for future actions. We also examine the left and right's reaction. (0-26:40) We then have our second Trump vs. DeSantis debate following the raid, which SB believes has emboldened Trump for 2024. (27:10-38:45) Part of the appeal of DeSantis, per TB, is having the race be about Biden's failures, which we examine next. The administration is gaslighting about a recession and inflation, but people out on the ground know what's happening despite the media spin. (38:45-50:50) We have a packed ReWokeables. On Fox Corp's recent earnings call CEO Lachlan Murdoch stated that Hispanic viewership of Fox News was up 38% in July. Asian viewership was up 41% and Fox News was the most viewed cable network by both groups during the month. (50:50-1:05:55) We check back in on the WNBA - why do their players make more money than G-League players (1:05:55-1:17:05) - before calling out Jalen Rose for his woke Mount Rushmore take. Welcome to Episode 31! We are back after a brief summer break, and boy did the Woke flow in! We focused on AOC to start the show. She's been in the news a lot lately, whether it be for a fake arrest, calling transgender strippers Patriots, or seeing her "big juicy booty" get meme'd. She ultimately hasn't done much of anything except put on fake performances, echoing the typical progressive millennial who cares about their social media likes more than actually creating real change. We also touch on the ridiculousness of her claiming a few years back that Climate Change is the millennial generation's World War, while she takes gas guzzling SUVs to work. The left being angrier about the booty meme than Republican Lee Zeldin almost getting stabbed at a campaign event is also a prime example of the woke left thinking anyone that disagrees with them is the devil, and that speech is violence while violence is speech. We pop into the Bill Simmons subreddit to examine this in action, as many redditors in that community actually support the deaths of Tucker Carlson and Clay Travis. Bizarre and chilling stuff. To lighten things up we turn to a #WokeInTheWild somehow hating on window washers dressing as Superheroes outside of a children's hospital. We then cover the absolute hypocrisy of Democrat politicians complaining about illegals being sent to their cities while supporting an endless stream of illegal immigration into Republican states. It's a similar theme to progressives choosing not to live in the woke utopia shitholes they created. We end with the ironic story of Mexicans getting mad that Americans are moving to Mexico City while not immersing themselves in the culture. We have another #DefundingTheWoke to share - Samantha Bee's nasty, unfunny and barely watched late night show finally got cancelled, while WokeFlix lost subscribers for yet another quarter. We then turn to The View, specifically our favorite Whoopi, for yet another woke take. To finish off the show, TB pays off a bet made with friend of the show Brandon from GreenCandle, and then we have a brief Sports Corner before wrapping up. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 30! We start the show discussing the latest woke comments from LeBron, or should we saw LeWoke, James. After previously saying he didn't experience any racism while playing in Boston, he now claims Boston fans are "racist as fuck." We respond to those comments as well as LeWoke saying that Brittney Griner shouldn't even want to come back to America. (0:00-17:05) Next up in our Sh*thole City check-in we discuss the recent comments by Starbucks' CEO. The woke coffee chain plans to shut down several locations in classic Democrat-led woke utopia sh*tholes like Seattle, Philly and Portland. We also hear from TB, who just got back from another business trip to San Fran, and it was just as bad as the first time around. (17:35-35:10) We then transition to Biden's botched Saudi Arabia trip, where he failed to get Saudi to increase oil production to bring down gas prices. We also contrast how the media covered Trump visiting Saudi vs Biden's fist bump with MBS. We also have a laugh at Mayor Pete claiming US citizens need to buy electric cars, when he fake bikes to work while actually riding in a gas guzzling SUV. (35:10-46:35) In a jam-packed ReWokeables, we hit on Jill Biden's taco fiasco at a "LatinX" conference (46:35-56:30) - how patronizing - as well as Josh Hawley being called out as inciting violence by the woke left for saying men can't get pregnant (56:30-1:08:35). We finish up laughing about how we called Fauci being brought out once again and telling everyone to mask up. Welcome to Episode 29! We start with coverage of Brittney Griner in Russia, the WNBA player arrested for hard drugs and currently on trial. While a sad situation, we are hearing the familiar liberal media talking point that there's an unjust wage gap between men's and women's basketball which we strongly disagree with - the NBA makes more money because it's watched more; it makes more money than the NHL too. We then compare the treatment of Ryan Lochte by the media to Griner, and wonder why the two were treated so differently - isn't Lochte supposed to have white privilege? (0:00-14:15) We transition to discuss how Biden is being lauded by the media for simply reading the letter from Griner's wife. In a similar situation, former President Trump threatened Sweden with a trade war if they didn't give back rapper A$AP Rocky. Biden's weakness is stark contrast to Trump, who was often criticized for statements and strategic moves that turned out to be prescient. A perfect example of this is when Trump was laughed at for saying Germany was too reliant on Russian gas - now their economy and society might shut down. (14:15-23:45) Elon Musk on Friday cancelled the Twitter deal. We theorize why: is this negotiating, is he trying to take down Twitter by catching them under-reporting bots, did he want to expose them, or is there something else at work? We discuss a variety of possible reasons for the news and read from his letter pulling out of the deal, a rarity for him. (24:20-37:10) Next we discuss how The Orville, a Star Trek-esque show created by Seth MacFarlane of Family Guy fame, has gone woke. They had an entire transgender episode and we were offended at how easy and simple they made the choice to transition seem. We do not believe this is appropriate for children to watch. We discuss another show that's gone woke, The Boys, before finishing up discussing how absurd it is that young children are being brought to drag queen events and parades where participants are mostly naked. (37:10-1:02:30) After a Sports Corner in which TB gloats about the Yankees success, especially over the Red Sox (1:02:30-1:07:25) we discuss a recent Tucker Carlson interview with Ben Smith, formerly of Buzzfeed and the New York Times, before finishing up with a ReWokeables on how the media continues to call Hispanic conservatives right wing - this time Mayra Flores and the "Rise of the Far Right Latina" - what happened to using LatinX, New York Times? Welcome to Episode 28! We start the episode off discussing the utterly predictable reaction from the left after Roe vs. Wade, especially the racist attacks against Justice Clarence Thomas. The left isn't interested in a discussion, just spreading their intolerance of any alternative opinion. We then segue into how this was also shown in the woke tech world, including an employee fired for joking about bodegas, and a recent TB personal experience. Next we discuss two related white guilt stories. Strangely, the creator of the hit TV show Friends now believes the show was "too white" and thus has started donating to diversity scholarships. We saw a similar situation with Netflix's CEO - funding scholarships at his PWI (Predominately White Institution - more looney left language) and thus he gifted $120 Million to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. NBA free agency has begun and we check in on Kevin Durant requesting a trade from the Nets, reaffirming the bizarre situation where NBA players making $50 Million a year are unhappy. We also talk a little Sox-Yanks, as TB's Bronx Bombers look like the World Series favorite. We finish up with a check-in on The Great Biden Depression - consumers have essentially stopped spending beyond gas and food, sending us straight into a recession - and then have a laugh about the recent ridiculousness of Fauci. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 27! We start with a breakdown of why Disney's new Buzz Lightyear movie failed to take off at the box office. While Pixar may have damaged its brand due to releasing movies straight to Disney+ during the pandemic, and the movie wasn't good, we think the biggest culprit is wokeness: the needless lesbian kissing scene, the removal of conservative Tim Allen as Buzz, and in general parents not trusting Disney after they're put their wokeness on display over the last several months. We also discuss how the lesbian scene puts parents in a tough spot if they decide to allow their young kids to watch the movie. Next up we discuss a series of tweets that show the absurdity of the left calling everyone they don't agree with a white supremacist. Vice recently published an article titled "White Nationalists Want to Reclaim Nature as a Safe Space for Racists," which shows that we need some #DefundingTheWoke at Vice sooner than later. We next discuss a tweet from a professor that claims her son said "almost every white middle school boy is in the alt-right pipeline." We bring that together with a final tweet from a journalist saying that young conservatives are increasingly radical. We disagree - our views are "common sense" while the world has drastically shifted left. The Great Biden Depression rages on, and we dive into more gaslighting on that front as well as a look into Biden's energy policy. We are encouraged that executives from Chevron and Exxon are finally fighting back against's Biden's Energy wokeness, which includes blaming gas station owners for high gas prices. Biden is essentially calling for price controls and communism rather than working with the US oil industry to get more energy online to lower costs. The good news is the media propaganda isn't working - Biden has a 25% approval rating among 18-34 year-olds and only 11% believe the gas price increase is due to Putin. We finish up with a riff on how the Obama's are seeing Woke Funding from Amazon after moving their podcast there from Spotify. Maybe one day Amazon will have to defund the woke - we will have to see! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 26! We start off talking the monumental Mayra Flores victory. Running as a Republican, she won 51% to 43% vs. the Democrat candidate, in a congressional district that went Biden +13 and Hillary Clinton +22. We've been touching on the theme of Hispanics shifting Right politically in several shows, and this result vindicates all that discussion. We also think it's just the beginning. We next discuss the current state of the economy. It's rough out there, whether it's stocks, layoffs, gas prices, bitcoin, mortgage rates or food inflation. There's nowhere to hide. We touch on it all. In addition, the Federal Reserve hiked interest rates by a shocking 75 basis points, 3x the normal rate, and we may not only be in a recession, it's possible we're headed for a Biden-induced Depression. We sadly have a bad news Sports Corner, where both SB's Celtics and TB's Rangers suffered defeats in the playoffs. However, there were positive signs in each season. We then hit on the absurdity of the murder threat on Justice Kavanaugh, including the lack of response to cool it from the left. We finish up the show with a ReWokeables hitting on an update on Elon buying Twitter as well as another killer week for Ron DeSantis, who is looking better and better racking up W after W. Welcome to Episode 25! We start the show off on inflation, on the eve of the May 2022 Consumer Price Index (CPI) release, which is expected to show inflation was 8.3% in May. Incredibly, Putin is the one correctly assessing the true causes of inflation - our out of control printing press - while our US leaders continue to gaslight us about the causes. We also ask why our leaders are suddenly admitting that inflation is actually high. Has it gotten so bad they have no other choice? We also discuss how the data shows we may already be in a recession. (0-12:45) We next cover a feel good #DefundingTheWoke story. Axios is reporting that CNN, which has a new boss under new ownership, is “evaluating partisan talent” as part of a push to return to hard news and journalism. While we're still skeptical it'll actually happen, there's no doubt Brian Stelter, Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon are feeling the heat. The article stated that “if talent cannot adjust to a less partisan tone and strategy, they could be ousted” - so we will be watching this story closely. (13:20-21:35) We move onto #WokeInTheWild, where we start with one of our favorite sources of material for the show, The View. Joy Behar said this week that “once black people get guns in this country, the gun laws will change” - just another classic from those ladies. Next we contrast the media's fascination with Lizzo and her bare ass with body positivity activists being offended by Sydney Sweeney's latest outfit. And we finish up with the NFL's Carolina Panthers adding a transgender cheerleader to their squad, with TB offering a theory as to why they're the first team to do so. (21:35-34:35) We finish up the show with a packed ReWokeables. Several Tampa Bay Rays players declined to wear a Pride Night rainbow patch, and they were called out by an Around the Woke panelist at Disney-owned ESPN, the home of WokeCenter. We then celebrate San Fran District Attorney Chesa Boudin being recalled, including some interesting voting patterns. The majority of Boudin's support came from wealthy white liberals; it turns out the ones pushing SF's Woke Utopia don't want to live in it. And finally, we finish up with a Survivor update in which a certain castaway continues playing and ultimately weaponizing the race card. Welcome to Episode 24, our first show with a guest! We welcome Brandon from Green Candle Investments to the show, after connecting with him on Twitter due to our mutual interest in Bitcoin and stocks. We start the pod with Brandon giving an introduction to why he started Green Candle Investments and his vision for future content (0:00-13:15). Next we dive into current thoughts on Bitcoin and stocks, including long-term price predictions, recession talk and a stock pick (13:15-27:10). We then give Brandon the floor for an all-time LeBron rant, after which we discuss how we're enjoying the playoffs without LeBron and his divisive antics present (27:40-48:30). We finish up our Sports Corner with TB and SB celebrating how well the Rangers and Celtics are doing (48:30-51:05). Like TB, Brandon is Hispanic, and we get his insight on why he thinks Hispanics are shifting right politically. We also hear about his background and growing up and how he's unfortunately lost friends due to political differences (51:05-1:08:50). We next react to some outrageous but also not surprising news that the majority of millenials making over $250k are living paycheck to paycheck. Brandon also gives his thoughts on the issues of student debt and higher education more broadly (1:08:50-1:25:55). After getting a Florida vibe check - much more freedom down there than East Coast cities or San Fran which we detailed last episode (1:25:55-1:31:55) - we finish up with a couple of surprise WokeInTheWilds to react to (1:31:55-1:49:10). What more is there left to write? The title says it all. San Francisco has turned into a 3rd-world hellscape under far left rule. TB was there recently and luckily lived to tell the tale. We react to Charles Barkley's San Fran comments and riff on some ridiculous Seth Rogen tweets from awhile back. Next we introduce a new segment, Reddit Rebuttals. We've been active in multiple subreddits promoting the show lately including r/Maher. Through interacting with various redditors on the site, we've seen things you truly wouldn't believe. We also discuss how two subreddits removed our post and threatened us with bans if we continued posting about the show. We have a robust Bitcoin segment this episode, including the excellent sign that is Bitcoin Dominance - Bitcoin's market cap as a % of total crypto market cap - rising fast. We then touch on Elon's tweets demolishing the phony scam that is ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investing. We close the show with a tale that could only be told in Woke America in 2022: a woman being sexually assaulted in the Metaverse. Meanwhile, Zuck laughs all the way to the bank. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 22. We're coming to you after a heartbreaking last couple of weeks, as senseless mass shootings are happening far too often. We decided to dedicate an entire episode to examining why we think they're occurring so frequently, what can be done about it, and how we can improve the dialogue around the issue. Therefore, we've launched our first ever "Societal Deep Dive" show; we hope it is informative and thought provoking. We encourage you to share this show in particular with friends and family. We first recap the recent Uvalde shooting and go through the history of the 2nd amendment and "gun culture" in America. We cite data that shows guns often save lives as they're used as protection. We then discuss how we believe the recent string of mass shootings is a mental health issue rather than a gun issue, and touch on several troubling signs for our youth including the demise of the nuclear family, loss of economic opportunity and feelings of isolation exacerbated by technology. Then we discuss major debate points on the gun rights issue and try to find common ground on solutions, rather than what we often see which is political figures yelling past eachother and going to extremes. We next turn to the gross responses from the left. They seemingly turn every tragedy into an attempt to score political points, and this one was no different. Former President Obama - the great Divider in Chief - is king at this, and we discuss some history of how his election marked an incredibly hopeful time for the country, but things quickly turned south, especially for race relations. We also play clips from Warriors coach Steve Kerr, and ultimately ask why there is selective outrage, as the left only responds to some tragedies and not others. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 21! We begin the episode celebrating more Woke Defunding. Netflix has fired Woke employees and cancelled several Woke shows, including leading "antiracist" Ibram X. Kendi's "Antiracist Baby." And in a sign of another media company potentially dropping the Woke, the new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO is planning to meet with currently cancelled TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminist) J.K. Rowling to discuss Harry Potter series for HBO Max. (0:00-20:10) We next discuss the latest in Bitcoin, including TB's discussion with pro-Bitcoin boomers last weekend and El Salvador's event. (20:10-32:15) After some macro economy and financial markets coverage (32:15-38:05) we move onto Elon and Twitter. He is fighting the Woke with an incredible amount of fervor and we highlight some of his best tweets. (38:35-53:30) The Woke mob is also coming after Josh Donaldson, in yet another example of how the media assumes racism first and our society is now guilty until proven innocent. (53:30-1:05:05) TB gives us a a real life WokeInTheWild, and we also discuss NPR's insane mask policies. (1:05:05-1:17:05) We then finish up with a ReWokeables, as we discuss Bill Maher's monologue which cited the same LGBTQ+ stats as us. Welcome to Episode 20! We recorded Monday night (5/17) and originally intended this to be a shorter episode, as TB is traveling for work and will be back later in the week. But the Woke stories came in furiously yesterday, even accelerating as we got closer to recording the pod! So we ended up with yet another jam-packed episode. It seems the world wants this podcast to succeed, as the show writes itself! We hope you enjoy listening. We start off the show discussing the Buffalo shooting and the predictable media and political reaction. All we want is a fair game and tragedies to not immediately be exploited in an attempt for political gain and tightening of free speech, but in Woke America in 2022 that's too much to ask for. We also read some old tweets and articles from Dems celebrating demographic changes in the US - as they would lead to more Democrats in power, they believed - the same thinking that apparently you can't say on air or else you're encouraging violence (0-24:50). We next move on to the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue going further Woke, and discuss what this says about society. We also ask what kind of country have we created for the next generation when one of them commits such an abhorrent act as in Buffalo and countless other shootings (25:25-37:15). Continuing on free speech, we discuss the latest Project Veritas video about Twitter, and enjoy some excellent tweets from both Elon Musk and, surprisingly, Jeff Bezos, about the current regime's shortcomings. When things are bad enough for WashPo Bezos to criticize the Brandon administration, you know it's rough out there (37:15-52:10). Next we cover some new Bitcoin developments. El Salvador President Nayib Bukele brought central bank and financial authority executives from 44 countries to his homeland to discuss how the bitcoin experiment is working out so far. This could one day be seen as one of the most important events in monetary history. We also discuss how Ben Bernanke - perhaps the man most responsible for the inflation and economic destruction we see today - not only laughs off bitcoin, but doesn't even understand gold's history as money (52:10-1:05:20). We then move onto a Sports Corner focused on the NHL and NBA Playoffs, where TB's Rangers and SB's Celtics pulled off Game 7 wins on Sunday (1:05:20-1:19:05). We have a laugh about how we're already seeing woke absurdity from Jen Psaki's replacement on her first day (1:19:05-1:23:25). And finally, we close the pod with a ReWokeables. Netflix makes a first move towards shedding its WokeFlix label, while ESPN went WokeCenter again and continues making Disney the Wokest Place on Earth (1:23:25-1:37-25). --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 19! We begin with a fierce reaction to Biden's outrageous press conference on Tuesday, where he blamed everyone but himself for the accelerating inflation we're seeing across the country. For someone who ran claiming he'd "unite rather than divide" and would "take responsibility instead of blaming others," Biden's now doing the exact opposite. We also react to the official numbers that came in on Wednesday, including how the Federal Reserve is the main contributor to inflation, not the savior as so many claim and hope. From there, we discuss a wild week in financial markets, including coverage of Bitcoin's price collapse which was due to a variety of reasons, including Bidenflation but also the LUNA collapse and Coinbase's demolition after earnings. TB also reveals how he orange pilled his brother - right on time before a shitcoin collapse this week. We next discuss Tom Brady's incredible 10-year, $375 Million deal with FOX Sports to call NFL games; the GOAT stays GOAT. Of course, there were Woke takes on the deal which we laugh at. Next we transition into our Sports Corner where TB revels in the first place Yankees vs. SB's last place Red Sox. The ongoing reaction to the Supreme Court potentially striking down Roe vs. Wade provided us a #WokeInTheWild, #EpicGaslighting, #LibsGoneTooFar and #WokeWhiplash - a first for the pod, one subject notching all 4. Then TB, a Hispanic Republican, reacts to The View's Sunny Hostin saying that "Hispanic Republican" is an oxymoron. We end the pod with the ReWokeables. SB explains how he's continuing to watch Survivor - for show research, of course - and that the most recent episode was a great one, no wokeness involved! And we riff on the absurdity of the new Star Trek series on Paramount+ showing that in the future, a fictional World War III has been sparked by the Jan 6th protests. This one was jam packed folks - we hope you enjoy! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 18! Our lead story is the Supreme Court leak on Roe vs. Wade, which shows the left is willing to bring down all democratic norms in their quest for power. We also cover the ridiculous FUD that's being spread about what comes next, and laugh at how suddenly liberals have remembered what a woman is. Next we discuss Biden's comments about the MAGA movement being an extreme political organization; so much for "lowering the temperature" like he promised in 2020. For our #WokeInTheWild we have a double feature from The View: they blame Trump for Dave Chapelle being attacked and float the idea of a "Sex Strike" if Roe vs. Wade is overturned. We get excited about Elon as acting Twitter CEO and wonder what he'll bring to the platform. In another new segment - Politics Corner - we look at JD Vance's win in Ohio and Royce White's candidacy in Minnesota. We wrap-up with a ReWokeables on Bomani Jones' somehow getting what could have been the lowest rated show in HBO's history renewed for a second season. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 17! We start off with a deep dive on how the CBS reality competition show Survivor went Woke this past week. It's been a pattern lately not only on several recent Survivor seasons but also the most recent Big Brother. Unfortunately these shows are no longer about strategy and gameplay but simply the race of the contestants, which makes for a poorer product. We'll see if they get woke and then go broke with more and more people tuning out. We then give an update on Elon Musk buying Twitter including a number of excellent Elon tweets, to which the left of course freaked out on, as they continue to show they're against free speech. Woke Disney shows up again on the pod as we introduce a new segment, ReWokeables, when we check-in on previous stories. Sage Steele's ESPN lawsuit reveals a double standard on how Disney, the owner of WokeCenter, treats conservatives and liberals. Next in our #WokeInTheWild we discuss the outrageous recent MSNBC piece "How right-wing extremists weaponize the idea of motherhood," from the same outlet that previously claimed getting fit and working out was right-wing. We then cover the failure of Bidenomics, which may indeed be leading us into a recession already. We end the show with another recommendation to watch Severance (previous a Weekly Antidote) and wonder why Netflix ever thought the recently cancelled Space Force, based simply on making in fun of President Trump, was a good idea. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 16! We lead off the pod with a TB recap of his weekend in the South, where freedom rings much more than in East Coast liberal cities. We then hit our top story - Elon Musk buying Twitter! We think this can be an absolute game changer for free speech. We also riff on several #WokeInTheWild reactions from the craziest libs - it sure does seem like a good portion of the left hates free speech. Next we launch into a Sports Corner where we discuss what's gone wrong in the NBA and why we think players are so unhappy. We then highlight some #EpicGaslighting from our government on inflation, and end up having an in-depth discussion about the unfortunate student debt crisis. We finish up the pod with another laugh at CNN+ - the liberal media gaslighters gaslit themselves! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 15! In a special streaming-focused episode, we cover the incredible fall of Netflix, which is now losing subscribers and saw their stock decline by 40% this week after they reported earnings; indeed, Netflix stock is down to $215 from a high of $700 in November - so what happened? We diagnose a variety of issues, including their comically woke programming. We also discuss the state of streaming, including how binge releases may not be sustainable and why watching sports on streaming is fast becoming extremely expensive. Next we celebrate the demise of CNN+, which is one of the first major instances of Woke Defunding. We'd like to see more. Why did CNN executives think there was a demand for this product, and what does it say for their news organization that CNN actually fake news'd themselves by telling employees the service was a massive hit? We close the episode with another Weekly Antidotes, including The Last Kingdom and Severance, the latter of which benefitted from weekly episodes rather than Netflix's Binge and Burn strategy. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-woke-antidote/support
Welcome to Episode 14! We start off the episode with a deep dive into the Libs of TikTok doxxing. Why is it that the media is allowed to do this, and what is their true motivation? We then move onto our latest edition of #WokeInTheWild, where we heap praise on Ron DeSantis again for taking on Woke Disney. Welcome to Episode 13! We start off the pod with an update on Elon Musk and Twitter. He's submitted a bid, and now we await whether the Twitter board cares more about money or preserving their anti-free speech views. (0:00-19:20) Then we hit on the absolute failure that is CNN+ and wonder what's next - will it be shut down under new ownership? (19:55-28:35) We next dive into some horrifying statistics that show young Americans are extremely unhappy. Why do we think this happened and what can we do about it? (28:35-43:00) Lizzo comes up yet again on the pod as we had to touch on her latest absurdity. (43:15-48:00) Getting serious again, we discuss the sad Brooklyn subway shooter and why the media is more focused on narratives over solving problems. Welcome to Episode 11! Our top story is Elon Musk's massive Twitter purchase; he now owns 9% of the company after buying his stake for $3 Billion, becoming the company's largest individual shareholder. Does this mean free speech is coming to Twitter? We're hopeful. Next up we have our #EpicGaslighting segment featuring some outrageous takes from the liberal media on the economy and inflation. We next preview the upcoming Bitcoin Conference in Miami, where we're hoping for some fireworks. After another round of #WokeInTheWild, we diagnose the problem with "The Problem With Jon Stewart" - he went too woke. Our lead story this episode is how Biden's Supreme Court nominee couldn't answer what a woman is - a rarely seen #WokeInTheWild, #LibsGoneTooFar and #EpicGaslighting trifecta. We next cover the incredibly bullish Bitcoin news from the past week, including energy giant Exxon Mobil selling gas to bitcoin miners, Russia saying they'll accept energy exports in bitcoin, and Treasury Secretary Yellen coming out with positive bitcoin statements.
