In this sermon, we delve into the powerful story of Ahab, Jezebel, and Naboth from 1 Kings 21. This tale reminds us of the destructive nature of covetousness and the importance of standing firm in our faith. We see how Naboth's courage in upholding God's law cost him his life, yet his integrity shines through the ages. The story also reveals the dangers of unchecked power and the consequences of manipulating others for personal gain. As we reflect on Ahab and Jezebel's actions, we're challenged to examine our own hearts. Are there areas where we've let greed or envy take root? How can we cultivate contentment and generosity instead? This biblical account also highlights God's justice and compassion. While He doesn't let evil go unpunished, He still offers mercy to those who humble themselves. Let's be encouraged to stand tall for what's right, trust in God's timing for justice, and always be open to His transformative grace in our lives.
Today we will learn about Hannah, her son Samuel, and the power of prayer.Parents, want to keep talking? Here are some ideas:*With your child, make a simple poster about things to pray for by gluing pictures onto a piece of construction paper. In the middle, write, "God hears me when I pray." When your child wants to pray, he or she can look at the poster and pick a few things to talk to God about. (ages 2-4)*What do you think you would do if you heard a voice in the night calling your name? What do you think God wants you to do for him? (ages 5-9)*Eli's sons Hophni and Phinehas grew up in the temple, but didn't honor God. They didn't truly know and love God. How can you show God that you know and love him? (ages 10-12)One last thing! This week April asked, "Where is your favorite place to pray?". We would love to hear your ideas! Simply record a voice memo and send it in a text to 636-280-5433. You may even be featured in an upcoming episode. *By sending in a voice memo, you're providing consent for your minor's voice to be on the podcast*Normal Goes A Long Way Website: https://www.normalgoesalongway.com/Normal Goes A Long Way Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/normalgoesalongway/Normal Goes A Long Way Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Normal-Goes-A-Long-Way-110089491250735Normal Goes A Long Way is brought to you by Messiah St. Charles: https://messiahstcharles.org/Normal Goes A Long Way is hosted on Zencastr. Today's Talmud page, Sanhedrin 92, commands us never to demean ourselves, even when in great and mortal danger. How did Mordechai, whose bravery we just celebrated this Purim, embody this ideal? And what does it have to teach us about leadership? Listen and find out.
What if the word “whistleblower” conjured up something more powerful than a piercing whistle? This week's guest thinks it should—and she's leading the charge to reframe what it really means to blow the whistle. In this episode of Fraudish, Kelly speaks with Jackie Garrick, founder of Whistleblowers of America and author of Be a Giraffe. Jackie opens up about her own experience as a whistleblower and what it takes to stand tall in the face of retaliation. She shares the emotional toll of speaking out, the ethical gray areas whistleblowers often navigate, and why mental health support and community are critical pieces of the puzzle. From finding legal representation to shifting public perception, Jackie is on a mission to make sure whistleblowers aren't just heard—but understood.Connect with Jackie and her work:
Has there ever been a time in your life when you knew what God wanted you to do, but you did the opposite? Taking His law as a suggestion (instead of, well, law), you went ahead and did it your way. Obedience isn't our strong suit. God can certainly work through us when we do what is contrary to His will for our lives. But imagine how much sweeter the relationship with your Savior would be if you took the words "thy will be done" to heart! In obedience, there is so much God can and will do through you. It's not about being bossed around; it's about opening yourself up to the life that Jesus wants for you. We see the Israelites going their own way (again), and God giving them what they want. There's a lot for us to learn from their mistake and we will hear more about it in this week's episode with Pastor Chuck Schlie. If you'd like to dig deeper, check out these discussion questions. In this episode, Pastor Snook preaches from 1 Kings 19 and shares with us how Elijah himself experienced depression - and how God showed Himself to Elijah to encourage him.
In this sermon, Pastor Snook emphasizes the importance of prayer, using the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 18:41-46. Elijah's passionate, persistent, and humble prayer for rain after three years of drought highlights the power of prayer. We are encouraged as believers to cultivate a close relationship with God, find a dedicated place for prayer, and be persistent in seeking God's will. We hope you'll always be encouraged that God answers prayer and provides strength, as demonstrated in Elijah's miraculous victory and God's provision of rain!

Qi Gong-Workouts for Geriatrics, AKA Silver Streakers" audience, emphasizing gratitude, strength, and resilience, all while weaving in the benefits of Qigong. Gratitude in Motion: Qigong for Strength and Resilience at Any Age Silver Streakers, Strong Hearts: Qigong, Gratitude, and Your Well-Being Breathing Deep, Standing Tall: Qigong and Gratitude for Lifelong Vitality Wall of Strength, Heart of Gratitude: Qigong for Resilience at 92 (and Beyond!)Hello, Silver Streakers, and everyone from 1 to 92! Grandpa Bill here, and today, we're focusing on something that fuels us all: gratitude. Gratitude for the strength we have, the resilience we've built, and the bodies that carry us through each day. Now, how do we nurture that strength and resilience, especially as we gather more wisdom and experience? Through gentle movement, mindful breath, and the beautiful practice of Qigong.Today, I want to guide you through a simple Qigong routine that's perfect for all ages and abilities, especially those of us who appreciate a gentle approach. We'll start with some deep, diaphragmatic breathing. Imagine your breath filling your belly, rising up to your chest, and then gently releasing. As you breathe, let go of any tension, any stress, and simply be present in this moment. Now, let's incorporate some gentle movement. We'll begin with 'Opening the Chest,' a simple Qigong exercise. Stand comfortably, or sit if you prefer. Gently raise your arms out to your sides, palms facing forward, and then slowly bring them together in front of your chest, as if you're hugging a big tree. As you do this, feel your chest opening and closing, stimulating your heart and lungs. This is fantastic for heart health and improving circulation. Do this a few times, syncing your movements with your breath.Next, we'll move to the 'Wall Exercise,' a personal favorite for building stability and strength. Find a wall, stand facing it, and place your hands flat against it. Now, gently lean into the wall, keeping your feet planted firmly on the ground. Feel the gentle stretch in your arms and shoulders. This exercise is excellent for strengthening your upper body and improving balance. You can adjust the intensity by how far you lean. This is a perfect example of how you can use everyday surroundings to enhance your health.Throughout these movements, remember to cultivate gratitude. Be grateful for the breath that fills your lungs, for the strength that allows you to move, and for the resilience that has carried you through life's challenges. As you move, visualize your body becoming stronger, more flexible, and more vibrant.Remember, Silver Streakers, health and wellness aren't about pushing ourselves to extremes. It's about gentle, consistent movement, mindful breath, and a heart filled with gratitude. Incorporate this simple Qigong routine into your daily life, and you'll experience a profound sense of well-being. And as always, listen to your body, move at your own pace, and enjoy the journey.#SilverStreakers,#GeriatricFitness,#Qigong,#GentleMovement,#Breathwork,#HeartHealth,#StressReduction,#Wellbeing,#Gratitude,#Resilience,#HealthAndWellness,#GrandpaBill,#BHSalesKennel#HolisticHealingHour,#DailyWorkout,#WallExercise,

What is a Conscious Way Shower? A Conscious Way Shower is a beacon of light, embodying love, compassion, and unity. More than just a role or a title, it is a way of being, a frequency that resonates with the deeper truths of life. Conscious Way Showers carry within them an inner knowing: the potential for unity, harmony, and balance is not some distant dream—it's available now. At the core of a Conscious Way Shower is the remembrance that we all have the power to create a timeline that uplifts and honors every form of consciousness. This isn't about achieving something far in the future; it is about embodying this truth in the present moment. Conscious Way Showers do not need to convince others or force their awakening. Our role is not to push, preach, or struggle to make others see the light. Instead, we embody the energy of oneness, peace, and infinite possibility, creating a frequency that others can feel and resonate with when they're ready. We do not work hard to wake people up. We do not worry about the state of the world or project fear onto the collective. The fear-driven mindset only perpetuates separation and chaos. Instead, we stand tall in the truth of unity and interconnectedness. Being a Conscious Way Shower is about living from a place of knowing—knowing that peace, love, and harmony are always within reach. We remember that, deep down, every soul knows this too. In this remembrance, there is no rush, no need to control the pace of the collective awakening. The awakening will happen when it is time. The embodiment of this knowing is key. It is through our daily actions, words, and presence that we embody the frequency of oneness. It's not a loud or demanding presence; rather, it is simple, quiet, and spacious. This energy holds space for others to align with their own inner truth without force or judgment. The journey of a Conscious Way Shower is one of creating space—space for others to wake up at their own pace, space for deeper connection, and space for the energies of love and unity to flourish. When we embody this energy, we invite others into this frequency, allowing them to awaken in their own divine timing. Our task is simple: to remember, to know, and to embody the truth of oneness. From this state of being, we radiate a frequency that gently, yet powerfully, uplifts the consciousness of those around us. It is not a race to the finish line but a steady, conscious unfolding of the deeper potential that resides within us all. This is the power of the Conscious Way Shower—being the example, holding the frequency, and trusting the process. It is spacious. It is simple. It is quiet. And it is here, now. Calling all Conscious Way Showers: Stand tall in your knowing, for the world is awakening, and your presence is enough. Standing Tall in Our Knowing.
