No one really ever has to ask the question, “Is Chris Pratt a Christian?” The actor certainly doesn't keep his love of Jesus a secret. And popular podcaster Joe Rogan truly believes that's the reason Chris faces controversy and hate on social media so often.ANDA Starbucks cup of coffee can be a life-saver in more ways than one. Not only does a hot cup of joe give us comfort and help us make it through our day, but as this story proves, it can be a way to send a life-saving message if needed. To see videos and photos referenced in this episode, visit GodUpdates!https://www.godupdates.com/chris-pratt-a-christian-controversy/https://www.godupdates.com/starbucks-cup-of-coffee-note/

Ruck up Buttercup is a podcast hosted by Deployed Love with Co-Hosts Sabrina Johannes, Kim Clagg, Sierra Cortez Stubbs, and Ashley Brown. Join us in a fun conversation each month, about a different topic, and how it works into our lives as military spouses, military children, and friends. On this episode of Ruck up Buttercup we discussed the 100 before 100 bucket list challenge. Sabrina introduced the challenge of sitting down and really raking your brain about 100 things you would like to do, see, or achieve before you turn 100. We all discussed many of the things that are on our list, from Girl Scout Tattoos, Disney World Marathons, Handstands, and Travels overseas. We veered off course at times discussing how organizations like Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Deployed Love allow you to grow amazing connections with people in the military community that aren't specifically associated with your particular unit your military member is associated with. Allowing you to have those deep military conversations, with someone who gets it. These organizations are great ways to build your tribe and your kids tribes during your time at Duty Stations. Many of our goals/bucket list items we discussed were great travel locations state side as well as internationally that we would love to see, we discuss if there was no rules, money, etc where would you go with and without kids. And really dug in deep to how much being a military spouse allows you amazing opportunities to see the world and different parts of the country you might not have ever went and seen without being stationed there. Really discussing how each duty station becomes what you make it! We ended this episode on a really fun topic of food, and the crazy things we have tried. As well as fun date night activities including trying one of everything on a menu, and ordering what the person in front of you ordered. Co-hosts of Ruck up Buttercup: Sabrina Johannes is the Executive Director of Deployed Love and a Veteran wife, has been stationed in Hawaii, Germany, Texas and now lives at Fort Bragg. Is a mother of 2, a fur baby owner, and currently homeschools her kids. Kim Clagg is the President of the Board for Deployed Love and a military spouse of 17 years. She has been stationed in Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky and is looking to retire in the Columbus, GA area. She is a busy mother of 4 and proud stepmother of a beautiful daughter. Sierra is the Secretary of the Deployed Love Board, Army wife, Girl Scout Leader, Starbucks Cup lover, and Mexican food enthusiast. Soon PCSing from their FDS Carson to Bragg. Her husband and 2 fur babies call Central Texas home. Ashley Brown is the Deployed Love Board Treasure and coordinator at Fort Bragg. She is our resident military brat and has been a military spouse for 10+ years. In the summer of 2019, Tell Us Something hosted a storytelling summer camp for youth at Zootown Arts Community Center. Seven young women worked together with Tell Us Something director Marc Moss for a week during the summer of 2019 to learn about how to decide what story to share, stage presence, story structure, elements of a story, keeping ourselves, our audience, and the characters in a story safe as well as making an emotional connection with the audience. This episode of the Tell Us Something podcast was recorded in front of a live audience on August 9, 2019 at Zootown Arts Community Center in Missoula, MT. 7 storytellers shared their true personal story that they developed with me over the course of a weeklong summer camp for youth at The ZACC. Izzy Slaughter, is our first storyteller, accompanies her competitive jump rope team, the Montana Super Skippers, to the national championships in Disney World, and gives us a peak behind the scenes of a chaotic competition. Her story is called “Jump for Joy”. Izzy Slaughter was born and raised in Missoula, Montana and is a competitive jump roper. She enjoys eating Big Dipper ice cream, skiing at Snowbowl, crafting and being outdoors. Ellie Althauser-Vlad’s best friend disappeared unexpectedly and when she returns, Ellie discovers why, offering her support and continued friendship. Her story is called “The Starbucks Cup”. Ellie Althauser-Vlad was born in Missoula and is an inclusive, open-minded goofy 8th grader at Washington Middle School, except for when her she-demon sister is around. She lives with her parents, sister, cat and dog. If Ellie were an ice cream flavor, she would most definitely be yellow cake, and only from the Big Dipper, of course. Si Thompson visits La Paz, Mexico and gets up close and personal with a whale shark, one of the largest animals on the planet. We call her story “Snorkeling with a Whale Shark”. Si Thompson has lived in Missoula, MT most of her life. She enjoys the arts and crafts, and the outdoors, mostly skiing and swimming. She loves animals — all of them. Annie Smith loves helping her mom make fudge, and when she has eaten her quota, she retreats to her room, only to sneak out again, and raid the fudge crumbs when her mother isn’t looking. We call her story “Fudge Crumbs on the Sly”. Annie Smith was born and raised in Missoula, Montana and enjoys reading, crafting, traveling, playing sports, playing the violin and piano and being outside. Especially in the water. Wynter Bradley goes camping with her siblings, father and uncle in the wilds of Montana. She tests the boundaries she was given and strays beyond the sightline of the adults. Listen to her adventure of being lost in the wilderness in a story we call “Lost and Found”. Wynter Bradley is going into 8th grade. She likes to travel, sing, dance and write. She also really likes gyros and fries. Hannah Lunde visits Disneyland with her parents and discover the Guardians of the Galaxy ride is not what they expected. We call this story “Disneyland Dropdown”. Hannah Lunde is a happy girl going into 7th grade. She loves dance and gymnastics. If she were an animal, she would be a goat. Our final story comes to us from Gwyneth Puryear, who decides to take AP Chemistry. She takes us on the journey of humor and anxiety that is the final exam. We call her story “Shooting for a 3”. Gwyneth Puryear recently moved to Missoula from England. She’s going to be a junior in high school and loves to perform. She spends her time reading, writing and singing along to her favorite musicals.

The Decline and Fall of Globalism. With the success of Donald Trump in America, Nigel Farage in Britain and the rise of Marine Le Pen in France, the historic swing towards enlightened economic nationalism appears well underway in the West. We review the hopeful prospects for Western Civilization with Tom Tancredo and listen to Henry Kissinger describe Trump as the "most unique" president-elect of his lifetime with "no baggage" nor "obligation to any particular group." Plus, we consider the famous discourse on Propaganda by Edward Bernays, who held that an "invisible government" which manipulates the opinions of the masses "is the true ruling power of our country." Could today's rioters and protesters be seen as unwitting victims of the sophisticated emotional manipulation techniques of our mainstream media? The cast of Hamilton included? Also, we ponder the elite "Therapy Dog" phenomenon and amusing Starbucks Cup counter-protests. Unless you have been living under a rock you've probably heard about the recent strike in the 'War on Christmas'. That's right! Yet another company is guilty of taking the 'Christ' out of Christmas. Starbucks recently unveiled their holiday cup and apparently there is a bit of an issue with it. It's RED. That's it, nothing more - just red. Now for most of us rational and non-nutbag people this is not an issue. Red cup with a green logo, that's pretty festive to me. (Maybe next year they can make it plaid - I like plaid.) In the past Starbucks has had cups with reindeer, snow flakes, ornaments and such as decor on their mugs. This year they went with something basic and yet still Christmas-like. Just plain red.
