Lorraine was on this show recently talking about Barber Lee Spirits and Barber Cellars. She is also organizing a Petaluma Craft Cocktail Week and The Block is one of the featured bars. Cody has brought two cocktails that The Block will be featuring during Petaluma Craft Cocktail Week. The first is a barrel-aged blood orange Negroni. A Negroni is usually made with gin, Campari and red vermouth, but The Block's version is unique. The Block has been open for about seven years. They have live music, pizza, tacos and food trucks outside. Mombo's Pizza is making pizzas there, too. It is an indoor/outdoor space, with dog-friendly space on the outdoor side. There are picnic tables and booths, so it's good for everything from a family night out to a date. The Block is located right next to the ten-story grain mill that dominates the horizon in downtown Petaluma. Lorraine is present in Petaluma as a partner in Barber Lee Spirits and Barber Cellars and she also organizes community fairs that focus on local producers and provide a marketplace to connect local producers with customers. @Petaluma_Cocktail_Society This first week, Petaluma Craft Cocktail Week is focussing on a Whiskey Sour. All the participating locations will make one. You can get a card at any destination and you can take your card to the other bars to try the whiskey sour there and get the card stamped. Find it with the hashtag " @Petaluma_Cocktail_Society " Lorraine explains how Whiskey Sour is a recipe that lends itself to "riffing on it." They also use Bitter Girl Bitters exclusively. Russian River Brewing Co. is open in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and at their big Windsor location. Visit their website for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more. The Block also has Trivia Night and Bingo Night. "It gets rowdy on Wednesday nights." They have a roster of bands that come through playing lots of music, from rock to country to what not, anything from two-person band to a big band with horns. Holiday Food Fair, Tues. Nov. 26 Also, don't miss the 8th annual Holiday Food Fair on Tuesday, November 26, at the Petaluma Hotel. This got started in 2017 when businesses needed extra support, as a way to connect local producers to customers. They will have a Santa and snow, and admission is only $5. Then, on Dec. 3rd, is the annual Petaluma Holiday Makers Fair. This is another opportunity to connect local craft makers to customers.

A group of grandmas ran off two thieves that tried to hijack 'Bingo Night' at the senior center. Michelle thinks they should've done something else with the two wanna-be thieves...
As a summer without COVID-19 restrictions gets underway, people are resuming activities, large and small, that the pandemic had paused or postponed.
Survival horror concepts, tropes, and cliches have been very prominent within these games for years. We've decided to do a new style where we condense all of these tropes into a bingo like format, and explain what we think about these topics in a form of random selection. These topics involve puzzles in horror games, psychological elements, pursuing enemies, limited ammo, multiple endings, sound design, environmental traps, obscured vision, and much more!
In this episode, Kevin and Tony examine what happens when you drop two or more American quarters down into a storm sewer, or worse, into Canadian parking meters. In the former case, you can always climb down into the sewer to recover them, but in the latter, your coins are lost forever: hoarded by Canadians to fund Socialism and thus impose health care and other services that in America would be considered antithetical to freedom. So, stay out of Canada, and attend to today’s segments. First, we have back-to-back returns of “Bad Nancy Drew” in which Francine and Bitsy labor to keep their innocent Aunt Sally—and their English teacher, Mr. Holly— incarcerated. Those are followed by a return to “Bingo Night at the Kushners!” Tonight’s gathering at Jared and Ivanka’s includes National Crank Award winner Marjorie Taylor Greene! Finally, Tony and Kevin peddle “Pledge Week Swag,” with more stuff, which, if you buy it, will be another 50¢ down the drain.

A lot of Big Boy thinking went into this episode, one in which the title is actually relevant to its contents. What is “Big Boy” thinking? It’s the kind of unaccustomed exertion that stretches men’s minds, perhaps for the first time, all the way outside of their private circumstances to truly examine the State of Things. So, Alden and Largo, underemployed Mafia Goons, are prominently featured in this episode. First, they cross the street to force “Spunky McBeef’s Pizza Arcade” out of business. Alas, their Big Boy thinking come all too late. More Big Boy thinking shows up with part two of “Bingo Night at the Kushners.” Jared and Ivanka hope to restore their fortunes by holding Bingo Night at their new home in Lower Heights, but Kayleigh McAnany neglects to bring the sheet cake because, you know, she lies. Then we return to the misfortunes of Alden and Largo for “PallMallMark PAC,” where they are manipulated into lobbying for Big Greeting Card to increase the number of Federal holidays.
In what it is a partially money-themed episode, Tony and Kevin first explain where the many “heres” are wherein listeners can empty their wallets. Then, in the first segment, “Bingo Night at the Kushners,” Ivanka and Jared Kushner try to recover some of their social and economic capital by holding a bingo night for their new neighbors in Lower Heights. Next, in a new “Unclogging the Spam Filter,” Kevin and Tony try yet again to coax a large sum of money from another nice British widow who contacted them and so many others on her robo-email list. Finally, in “36-Hour Cable News,” we learn how much more news there can be when time is stopped for an extra twelve hours a day. Apparently, there’s just a lot of waiting around, with little to do but to empty your wallets, here.
Please do not say a prayer for my motha, for she has been expelled from the Kingdom of Heaven. Instead, listen to us goof off real niiiiice! We'll solve a mystery or two and talk a little Tough Guy Poetry so tune in, would ya?
Terry Connor has strong ties at Thomas More University thanks to his father the legendary Jim Connor. Jim had a great career in the coaching world before he arrived at Thomas More in 1978. Jim’s greatest notoriety in the Northern Kentucky area comes from his time at Newport Catholic High School. In 1966, his Thoroughbreds team was headlined by Dave Cowens. Cowens would go on to become an All-American at Florida State and later an NBA Rookie of the Year and World Champion for the Boston Celtics. Cowens wasn’t the only superstar athlete Jim Connor coached during his career. He coached David Justice in both baseball and basketball at Thomas More in the 1980s. After a successful run at Bellarmine University and Boone County High School, Jim Connor came to Thomas More in 1978. He was hired to be the athletic director, head baseball coach and head mens basketball coach. He was virtually a one-person athletic department at the time. This included a need to help increase the budget with fund raising efforts. He comes up with the idea of holding a weekly Bingo Night that helps build the Connor Convocation Center. We transition into talking about Terry coming to Thomas More and playing baseball for his dad. This is towards the end of Jim’s career at Thomas More. Jim’s final game as coach is also Terry’s final game as a senior on the Saints baseball team. Terry follows his dad in the coaching game starting as a high school coach at Bishop Brossart High School on the basketball team under head coach Jeff VonHanDorf. Terry moves over to Dixie Heights High School where he is on Donnie MacFarland’s basketball staff and Dale Maxwell’s baseball staff. Terry comes to Thomas More as an assistant men’s basketball coach and takes over in mid-season when head coach Larry Cox steps down. Terry is hired to replace Cox after the season ends. He takes over as the athletic director at Thomas More in 2000 when Todd Aslaon is hired to succeed Bill Aker as the head baseball coach at Thomas More. Terry tells a funny story about hiring Jeff Hetzer to replace Asalon as the Thomas More baseball coach. After hiring Hetzer, Terry’s first assignment to his new coach was working the weekly Bingo event. Speaking of Hetzer, Terry tells the story of how he has “Hetz” finish the 2004 season as the women’s basketball coach. Hetzer leads the program to the NCAA Sweet 16 while simultaneously coaching the baseball team in an early season tournament in Florida. Terry continues to hold both positions of athletic director and mens basketball coach until 2006 when he jokingly says he fired himself to concentrate on being a full-time athletic director of the now growing department. We talk about some of Terry’s accomplishments as the Thomas Athletic Director. These include building a football stadium, entering the Presidents Athletic Conference after years as an Independent, the national success of the women’s basketball program and reclassification into NAIA. As we wrap up the conversation Terry talks about the culture within the Thomas More athletic department. It is well know that it’s a tight knit community with a family atmosphere that generates a loyalty thanks to appreciation shown by the people in leadership positions. Terry along with most of his family at Thomas More graduates. The cover art photo for his episode is of Terry presenting an award to his son Braden who plays on the men’s basketball team for the Saints. Labrador Morning from CBC Radio Nfld. and Labrador (Highlights)
On today's show, bingo night came back to West St Modeste and it brought back a lot of smiles. No news is good news. We haven't heard much about the Kamutik this season. It was delayed a few times so far because of bad weather, but the ship seems to be sailing smoothly through its second year of service. We hear from a satisfied customer. We hear from Labrador's four MHAs on what is happening in their ridings. A Rigolet woman tells us why she's seeking solutions after she was slapped with another high electricity bill. Labrador literature is sure on the rise these days. We speak to the author of a new book about Battle Harbour as seen through the eyes of Herbert Hardy. A Labrador West artist's work is featured on a beer can that is part of Quidi Vidi's celebration of the St. John's International Women's Film Festival kicking off this week.
This story originally aired on May 25, 2019. For almost five years, Seattle drag queen Sylvia O'Stayformore has been hosting Rainbow Bingo at Ballard Northwest Senior Center. There are colorful decorations, themed prizes, and a bar for beer and wine. And, of course, O'Stayformore performs a number or two. Carlye Teel, director of the center, says they first heard about Rainbow Bingo through one of their groups at the center, A.B.L.E. (Aging Ballard Lesbian Exchange) and immediately thought, "yes, that's for us." Teel says the event fit perfectly with a value of the center: "everyone is welcome." In this story, listen in as O'Stayformore hosts a Cinco de Mayo themed night, and one unlucky player finally gets to shout "Bingo!"
