Episode Eighty Two - Fall Brawl 1996In 1996 WCW stumbled upon THE storyline! After years and years of being in the shadow of the WWF, WCW have warmed up in the mid nineties with the return of Hulk Hogan, but try as they might, they couldn't find the right storyline to put them fully on top. Then leading into Fall Brawl 1996, they found it! Yes, it is the explosion...of Fire and Ice!!! Scott Norton, Ice Train, in a Submission Match! Ok so maybe you don't remember that one, but there is this little thing called the NWO that might have led to WCW taking the lead in the Monday Night Wars....possibly! Sting has turned his back on WCW, and left the Horsemen and Luger in the lurch heading into WAR GAMES! Who will save WCW this time? It's one of the most fondly remembered War Games matches, but what about the event itself, well the Better Call Creative boys do a deep dive rewatch of the event, and reimagine what the show could have been! And in honour of the true stars of the pay per view, we round out the episode with a Fire and Ice inspired fantasy card! Two Stings? Somebody had better call creative!

Scott and Daryl finish the May 2000 PPV Tour with WWF Judgment Day 2000. The show in Louisville is headlined by just the second ever televised WWF Iron Man Match between The Rock and Triple H for the WWF Title with Shawn Michaels as the referee. Of course this match is mostly memorable for the debut of the... American Bad Ass! The show also has a stellar Submission Match featuring Chris Jericho and another superstar. Let us know which of the May 2000 PPVs you think was the best: WCW Slamboree, ECW Hardcore Heaven or Judgment Day -- email us at JAWPOD@gmail.com or tweet us www.twitter.com/JAWPodcast!

We'll break down this awesome crowd getting treated to the umpteenth redux of the "Screwjob" angle along with why the Breaking Point concept was an absolute flop. Along the way we'll also cover Teddy Long's return as Smackdown GM (holla!), Undertaker's appearance on the debut of WGN Superstars, another fun match with Shelton Benjamin, another dreadful dejavu match with Big Show, unbelievable flubbydubs from JR, an awesome surprise return at The SummerSlam, the fantastic rivalry between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, Punk's epic trolling of the crowd, Alice In Wonderland allusions, bizarre segments with Teddy and Mr. McMahon, Jimmy Wang Yang getting involved in this rivalry (yes, really) and the strange existence of Lynyrd Skynyrd in the year 2009 (yes, really)! September 28th, 1998: After a shocking turn of events at "Breakdown" last night, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is no longer the WWF Champion! Vince McMahon schedules a ceremony to present the title to the new champion tonight, but "The Rattlesnake" has a surprise in store when he shows up on a very unique vehicle. Later on, Mr. McMahon forces The Undertaker & Kane to compete in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match against The Rock, Mankind, and Ken Shamrock. However, the chairman's pride ends up getting the better of him when he pushes The Brothers of Destruction too far, resulting in a brutal beating at their hands. The New Age Outlaws defend their WWF Tag Team Titles against Southern Justice, but a surprising scuffle may cause one member of DX to leave the group. X-Pac puts his newly-won European Title on the line against Val Venis, with the highlight being the post-match return of a bizarre superstar. And speaking of the European Title, for the first time on "Raw" we get a Six-Man Elimination Match between Edge, Gangrel, D'Lo Brown, Jeff Jarrett, Marc Mero, and Darren Drozdov, with the winner becoming the #1 contender for X-Pac's title next week. Owen Hart faces Dan "The Beast" Severn in a Submission Match, but it ends up being cut short when one of the participants appears to get seriously injured (spoiler: it's not actually a legitimate injury). Mark Henry goes one-on-one against Faarooq with Chyna acting as a completely-not-impartial guest referee. Al Snow takes on Vader in a match which only serves to further destroy the career of "The Mastodon." Oddities members Kurrgan & Golga team up to take on the freshly-heel-turned Headbangers as hometown Detroit natives The Insane Clown Posse make their presence felt during the match. Plus, a full recap of the surprisingly eventful "Breakdown" pay-per-view! We're back! But seeing as how we're a day late, we'll keep this short. Recorded last week, Joe picks a semi-recent NXT TakeOver gem of a women's match in anticipation of both TakeOver Brooklyn III and the upcoming Mae Young Classic. Jason picks an all-time classic WrestleMania match. And the RMG picks an entertainingly absurd and perplexing match from mid-90's ECW TV. It's a fun one. We're almost to twenty episodes -- woah! Joe's pick: Asuka vs Emma (w/ Dana Brooke), NXT TakeOver: London, December 16, 2015 Jason's pick: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret Hart, Submission Match, WrestleMania 13, March 23, 1997 RMG pick: Mikey Whipwreck vs 2 Gold Scorpio, ECW Television Championship & ECW Tag Team Championships match, ECW Hardcore TV 141, January 2, 1996

Of all the important moments we've covered in looking at nearly 4 years of WWF action, there is perhaps none more vital than when Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin waged war in a Submission Match in Chicago, Illinois on March 23rd, 1997. In Episode 59 of 'The New Generation Project Podcast' we break down "Wrestlemania 13". Featuring; your suggestions for song parodies about wrestlers, full introductions for Ken Shamrock, The New Blackjacks and Chyna, the kitchen sink, Ahmed Johnson joins The Legion Of Doom, a seminal sign makes its debut, The Iron Sheik applies a Camel Clutch, Sunny and Sable suspiciously don't appear, Marc Mero faces everyone, Tony Atlas does nothing, PG-13 get murdered while Marlena mildly avoids it, more great kids theme tunes, matches with no logical build and some matches with nearly a year's build. Plus the answers to the questions; What changes were made to the card? Is Sid over? Do cats have noses? Who was supposed to be the sole female member of the nWo? Who ran over whom and why? Which performer gets the longest entrance on the show? What Radiohead albums does Adam like? How could you make Vince like Furnas & LaFon more? Who is the Captain of the team? Who was supposed to get their head shaved? And where is considered to be the "Dallas of South-West Britain"? Speak to you after "Wrestlemania 32"!
