This Argentinian horror flick made the rounds in 2023, catching a lot of attention and exploding in popularity once it landed on Shudder. It's also a combination of grounded & crazy! The two get into it all!Topics:(PATREON EXCLUSIVE) 20-minutes discussing the trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth, Gareth Edwards' upcoming Summer blockbuster, and how it might be doing away with Trevorrow's... lackluster style and embrace being a horror-filled island adventure! (PATREON EXCLUSIVE)When Melvin received the push-notification that a Patreon Supporter had submitted When Evil Lurks for February's Patreon Pick, he audibly reacted. It's a visceral film, and the two talk about that for a bit.Is it weird to like a movie that's so pointedly miserable?Kathryn, "This movie just evoked in me a lot of 'social sadness'.".The film isn't drawing attention to it, but virtually every character within the film exists in a state of marginalization. When Evil Lurks has conviction. It trusts what it's doing, and it trusts you'll understand it.It's not as vicious as Terrifier 2, but the violence here is pretty nuts."Evil loves children. And children love evil."Discussing those two crazy shocking scenes in the film. A long time ago in a movie theater not too far away . . . a series of films came out that captured the imagination of movie fans everywhere. The Star Wars franchise has been a giant among the most loved movies ever made. The original trilogy has been held up as sacred. When it came time for the Prequels, original fans were let down, but young fans embraced them. They have finally aged into their place in Star Wars canon. When Lucasfilm was sold to Disney for a staggering $4.5 billion fans knew it was only a matter of time before we finally got some films with some of our favorite characters returning to the big screen. The first two divided audiences, but the third may have been the one that really made fans wonder what was happening behind the scenes. There didn't seem to be a plan for the new films and every director went by the seat of their pants. Originally, film director Colin Trevorrow was supposed to come in and direct the final film, capping off this trilogy and paying off on storylines from the first two films. When The Rise Of Skywalker was released fans began to wonder what the original plan for the film was back when it was titled Duel Of The Fates. Why did Trevorrow leave? What was the actual plan for the film? Let's find out all that and more here on What Happened To This Unmade Film

he Disney-produced Star Wars sequels had a great start with the smash box-office success of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens in 2015, then the wildly divisive follow-up The Last Jedi - written and directed by Rian Johnson - a couple year later. However, it all crashed and burned with universally maligned The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, directed again by TFA's J.J. Abrams. But did it have to be that way? As many fans know, filmmaker Colin Trevorrow was hired to co-write and direct STAR WARS EPISODE 9 at the same time the Abrams and Johnson were hired to direct their respective films. However, obviously things didn't go to plan. So what did Trevorrow's Episode IX look like? Would it have been an improvement on Abrams' failure? After accidentally falling into the banking world, Gitanjali Trevorrow-Seymour likes to say that she accidentally fell out of it too when the department heads at her bank were all axed in one fell swoop. As her career in the banking sector ended, she was left wondering what she actually wanted to do with her life. After much reflection and consideration, she started a training and coaching company. A few years into the business, Gitanjali realised that having 80% of her revenue sitting with a single client was a mistake when over a single phone call, that relationship ended. She has spent the past few years rethinking how a time-based service business should charge clients and building a business that is not dependent on herself to grow. ----Apple: https://apple.co/37gY2I6Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3E4wUbmGoogle: https://bit.ly/3KBQgqGWebsite: https://nicharalambous.com/its-not-over----Find Gitanjali online: https://highdefinitionyou.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/linkinwithgitanjali/

The film was planned as early as 2014 as part of a future Jurassic World trilogy. Filming began in February 2020 but was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It resumed in July and concluded four months later. Filming locations included Canada, England's Pinewood Studios and the country of Malta. Unlike its two predecessors, Legendary Entertainment was not involved in the film's production as Universal ended their partnership with the company in 2019 after the expiration of their four-year deal. Jurassic World Dominion is distributed by Universal Pictures and premiered in Mexico City on May 23, 2022. It was theatrically released in the United States on June 10, 2022, in IMAX, 4DX, RealD 3D, and Dolby Cinema. The film has grossed $462 million worldwide, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2022, but received negative reviews from critics who criticized its screenplay and runtime, with many claiming the franchise had run its course. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/popcorn-junkies/message

The film is set four years after the events of Fallen Kingdom, with dinosaurs now living alongside humans around the world. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Dominion is the science fiction action film written by Emily Carmichael and Trevorrow, and based on a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. This is the sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), the sixth instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise, the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy, and the conclusion to the storyline started in the original Jurassic Park film (1993). Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs now live alongside humans. A formerly extinct species of locust has reappeared and is threatening the world's crop and food supply. Suspecting corrupt bioengineering corporation Biosyn to be behind it, Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) invites Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) to the headquarters to investigate, where they cross paths with Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard).

On this episode of the Deep Focus podcast, host and Playlist Editor-In-Chief, Rodrigo Perez talks to writer/director Colin Trevorrow & writer Emily Carmichael about “Jurassic World: Dominion,” which is the sixth and potentially final chapter in the dino-action series that began with Steven Spielberg's beloved, “Jurassic Park.” “Jurassic World: Dominion” picks up four years after the events of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” in which Isla Nublar was destroyed in a volcanic explosion. Dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans worldwide, proposing the question — who is the world's apex predator? During the conversation, Trevorrow talked about his thoughts on the Jurassic franchise being a specifically science-focused sci-fi franchise with real-world considerations, bringing back legacy characters, the 'Bourne'-style action moving him away from the legacy of Steven Spielberg and all the thoughtful human texture they tried to inject into the franchise. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theplaylist/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theplaylist/support

Colin Trevorrow is one of the most successful directors to take Hollywood by storm in the last ten years. From his debut film, the brilliant time travel comedy "Safety Not Guaranteed", to the massive box office success of Jurassic World, Trevorrow proves he can deliver the indie, the blockbuster, and everything in between. In 2017, after foregoing the opportunity to direct the ninth entry in the Star Wars saga, he directed "The Book of Henry". What was initially preconceived as a dark comedy transformed into a beautiful story about a mother, her two sons, and the importance of never leaving things undone. It is both heartbreaking and warmly uplifting all at once.www.afilmbypodcast.comafilmbypodcast@gmail.com@afilmbypodcast on Facebook and Twitter

Debido a esas ideas reutilizadas, J.J. Concept art from Trevorrow's take on Episode IX, a The Clone Wars trailer, Star Wars Resistance comes to an end, and more! Here's what happens: We finally get on track for Who Got What? and it was the best of times. Some of the concept art for Trevorrow's Duel of the Fates (ep. IX) is really cool. Like, REALLY cool. You're not going to believe this, but there was more drama over the Obi-Wan live-action series. Don't worry, everything is fine. But geez. The trailer for the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is DOPE. Even if you haven't been into the show before now you should definitely check this upcoming final season out when it hits. Our friends at Kessel Run Transmissions say the Star Wars Rebels sequel will be happening this winter, and we'll learn more after the season finale of The Clone Wars. That's gonna be pretty sweet. The much-hyped Star Wars Resistance aired its series finale, The Escape. What did you think of the show? Overall we liked it, but maybe they could have done more with the characters. This time, Force Fed Sci-Fi is concluding its look into a galaxy far, far away after reviewing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and along the way we asked, how much fan service is too much, are there any enjoyable moments in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga and what lies ahead for the future of the Star Wars franchise. Let's dig in... Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Cast & Crew Directed by JJ Abrams: Originally, Colin Trevorrow was slated to direct this entry, but left the project due to “creative differences” with LucasFilm executives. Kathleen Kennedy and Abrams were quickly hired following his success after directing The Force Awakens. It could be that Trevorrow was more interested in taking the story in a different direction while LucasFilm/Disney was more interested in finding a “yes man” for the Star Wars saga As with The Last Jedi, most of the cast like Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver returned to their respective roles once again with some surprises along the way: Harrison Ford returned in a Force memory as Han Solo and appeal his son's conflicted nature but it's likely he got the Marlon Brando treatment with cue cards shown off-screen along with a massive payday. Ian McDiarmid returned to the role of Emperor Palpatine as the shadowy evil pulling the strings behind the First Order. While his casting serves as a link to the Prequel and Classic trilogies. It almost diminishes the direction LucasFilm was attempting with this new group of characters. Richard E. Grant as Allegiant General Pryde: Grant is easily one of the best additions to the film as well as the best villain. He's ruthless, cunning and has a unique history as it's clear he served in the Empire during the timeline of the Classic Trilogy. Keri Russell as Zorii Bliss: While her character doesn't receive much screen time, she's a welcome addition to the film as she shines light onto Poe's checkered past and her character seems to only serve as an additional deus ex machina during the final battle - we could see her pop up in a film or Disney+ series with Poe in the future (more on that in a bit). Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian: Williams returns to his role after 30 years and has become something of a reclusive hermit following an adventure with Luke. He's not hiding like Luke was in The Last Jedi, but he's also reluctant to rejoin the Rebellion until the very end of the film. Naomi Ackie as Jannah: Cool name, but probably our least favorite new character. She forms a bond with Finn as she is a former stormtrooper herself. She helps aid the Resistance in their fight at the end of the film. Following the passing of Carrie Fisher in 2016, it was later announced that she would appear in The Rise of Skywalker using unused footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi but her scenes almost feel incongruous to the overall film - as much as she is beloved to the franchise, the look of her scenes seem unnatural. The Rise of Skywalker Explained: So, What Happened? Let's dive into explaining The Rise of Skywalker a bit, and for that we need to rewind back to the previous film.  Following the backlash with The Last Jedi, it seems the filmmakers went out of their way to simply “play it safe” and wrap up the Skywalker saga in a pretty little bow. Problem is, JJ Abrams and screenwriter Chris Terrio interpreted this as retconning the events of The Last Jedi. By reintroducing Palpatine as the evil behind everything and implying that Snoke was created by him (semi-clone?) implies that Snoke really didn't matter in terms of the overall story.  In addition, characters who were introduced in The Last Jedi, like Rose Tico, were relegated to “desk duty” for the film and had either little to no lines or simply did not factor into the action shown on screen.  Luke Skywalker's characterization was also massively retconned. Following a battle where Rey nearly kills Kylo Ren,
