Saluton, estas mi Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner welcoming you to Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast...the soundcast that features clips from other soundcasts that have something to do with comedy. I swear to you. That is to say that all of the soundcasts featured in nearly every episode of Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast will be comedy-related in some way. I cannot stress that enough. Or maybe I can and/or have. It's hard to tell without feedback. Did I mention there are clips? We've got clips from Ear Biscuits, Science Fiction Rating System, Am I An Asshole?, Comedy Pop-Up Podcast, The Kevin and Bean Show from KROQ, and Hello From The Magic Tavern! We've also got a double Burst o' Durst from raging moderate Will Durst, another reading from TrumPoetry.com, and there may or may not be time for a Henderson's Pants ad... Let's find out, shall we? THE CLIPS Science Fiction Rating System Join Sam, Alex & Chris as they rank every science fiction film EVER. Three films an episode are discussed and added to the ranking, until they run out of films. (See the current list at sciencefictionratingsystem.com!) From July of this year, they are into thier second year running celebrating Bug Week, this time with the help of some GIANT ANTS. In a wide ranging episode we dissect the film itself, and also get into projection techniques, an in depth ant quiz, the wonder of a Victorian man in Hollywood and much, much more! Ear BiscuitsJoin Rhett and Link, hosts of the popular daily YouTube show Good Mythical Morning and authors of the New York Times bestseller "Book of Mythicality" in a candid weekly conversation for your Internetainment. In a clip from the spisode entitled "When Is Fun Too Dangerous?", Rhett and Link sit down to discuss when fun stops being worth the risk, dangerous hobbies they use to partake in, and the time Rhett almost went down with the "SS Merle" on this week's Ear Biscuits. The Kevin & Bean Show on KROQ The soundcast of The Kevin & Bean Show is made up of bits and segments from The Kevin & Bean Show. In this episode, that includes not just guest Bert Kreischer but "What's Happening?", Afro Line, Bean Makes Us Guess, and Extreme Commuting. Are the remnants and roll-ends of terrestrial radio the stuff of soundcasts? Listen and decide for yourself. Am I An Asshole?Comedians @JackieViscusi & @RosieGu + a special guest dig deep w/their resident therapist to analyze their asshole tendencies. In the episode from back in the beginning of this year sub-titled "For Being A Straight White Male?" (You have to do the math yourself there, and connected the title of the show to the sub-title to get the full message, see?), Jackie, Rosie, and guest comedian Jono Zalay touch on Women's Marches. Black Lives Matter. Gay rights. Are straight white dudes just hanging out and waving their privileged dicks around or do they actually want to help? Their special guest & comedian Jono, and their therapist, Jen, try to work it all out. Hello From The Magic TavernQuick background: Arnie Niekamp fell through a dimensional portal behind a Burger King into the fantastical land of Foon. He's still getting a slight WiFi signal, so he uploads a weekly podcast from the tavern the Vermilion Minotaur where he interviews wizards, monsters and adventurers. It's a major discovery! In our clip from Helo from The Magic Tavern (consistently in the Top 100 comedy soundcasts on iTunes), from way back in 2015, Arnie and his pals Chunt and Usidore meet a new guest: A common, dirty traveler named Tom. (Arnie hopes to hear what life outside of Hogface is like from someone who has traveled across Foon.) Comedy Pop-Up Podcast Live from the CPU Studios in beautiful Los Angeles, this is the official soundcast of Comedy Pop-Up, normally hosted by comedian Ron G. Join them as they interview some of the top comics in the business and create another outlet for some of the best in the industry. Our clip is from Epi42 from just earlier THIS month, guest-hosted by Paul Antonio and featuring guests Brent Sullivan and Vinny Fasline. And there you have it. September is nearly over and Halloween is just around the corner. In fact if you would like a headstart on Halloween why not pick up one or more editions of "Combat Radio Halloween The Album" available from cdbaby? You can pick them up by going to store.cdbaby.com , typing "Combat Radio" into the search field and clicking on any of the album icons adorned with very distinct shades of black with yellow lettering. If the image of the headless horseman holding aloft a flaming pumpkin to presumably hurl at some poor soul isn't enough of a tip-off that you're in the right place, the white skull peering from behind the red shield with the black cross that is Combat Radio's logo should be a dead giveaway... If you'd like specifically to buy this year's edition...this year being 2018...you can go to https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/combatradio8. The funds generated by album sales go to benefit social services, homeless children and other causes that have been adopted by the central figure of Combat Radio and an old pal of Succotash, Ethan Dettenmaier. I would also recommend checking out a track called "The Haunted Tour" from the 3rd annual "Combat Radio Halloween The Album" because it's something yours truly put together with the assistance of my co-host from Anti Social Show, Hunter Block, and we're frankly pleased with the way it turned out. So until next time, I bid you a fond farewell and thank you for spending some of your time with us here at Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. I hope it was entertaining and informative, and I hope that if you did enjoy yourself here that you might find the time to tell others about this program so that it might assist them in their own personal "I'd like to listen to a comedy soundcast but I'm not sure where to start" journey. That, after all, is the simplest way you could grant our most humble of requests that can be summed up in the four words: "Please, Pass The Succotash". - Tyson Saner
This is an alarm clock of an episode because it will wake you up—especially if you've ever claimed to be an "Intersectional Feminist." Lutze Segu is a multi-issue social justice activist and practitioner of Black queer Feminism, who discussed the difference between presenting yourself as a feminist, and actually participating in social activism. We also chatted about how being an ally is not an identity but a process, and why looking at social issues such as poverty and climate change through a feminist lens is the only way to make the world a better place. Also on the conversational platter: women's marches, the "do it like a dude" mentality, Serena Williams, and what goes through your mind when a bunch of Neo Nazis show up at your place of work. This episode is rich, appropriately dense, and subtly sweet—you know, like a good carrot cake. And here are a couple articles to check out, both penned by Lutze: https://thenewtropic.com/lutze-segu/ https://www.salon.com/2013/10/22/why_i_wont_call_myself_a_slut/
@JanelleMonae @WomensMarch #DirtyComputer #Not4Profit #America #History #Podcast #Motivational #Education #PowerToThePolls #TogetherWeRise #Enough #WomensMarch2018 As uplifting and important a collective moment as Saturday's (Jan. 21) global Women's Marches were, and as much as they may have ignited a cultural and political movement, there may have been no more poignant and powerful a moment than when Janelle MonáeI took the stage with the mothers of slain African Americans whose lives were unjustly taken by police to perform her powerful anthem "Hell You Talmbout” In her speech at the main Women's March in Washington, D.C., Monáe acknowledged a debt to both her grandmother, a sharecropper from Aberdeen, Miss. and her mother, a janitor, while saying how honored she felt to be there. Monáe, who most recently gave two award-worthy performances in critically-acclaimed films, Hidden Figures and Moonlight, said she was here to march against the abuse of power. And then her band took the stage and seemed to light it on fire. With a booming, all-female drum and percussionist group and backup singers that included her Wandaland label mate Jedenna (of "Classic Man" fame), Monáe explained the call-and-response rhythm of her police brutality anthem "Hell You Talmbout." Here, she began bu repeating the name Sandra Bland, a a 28-year-old black woman who was found hanged in a jail cell in Waller County, Texas, on July, 13 2015, while the crowd and back up singers responded with "Say my name!" President Trump formally requested the Pentagon to organize a military parade in Washington, DC on November 11, celebrated as Veteran's Day. However, groups of veterans want to stop the glorification of war and are organizing to reclaim the holiday as Armistice Day. This November is the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I. We speak with Brian Becker of the ANSWER coalition about the many groups organizing opposition to the military parade and calling for an end to wars at home and abroad. We also speak with Cindy Sheehan about the October Women's March on the Pentagon, which was organized in response to the Democratic Party-affiliated Women's Marches that omitted anti-war messages. Both Becker and Sheehan expose the bipartisan nature of the war machine in the United States. For more information, visit www.ClearingtheFOGRadio.org.

MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss today's Women's Marches which - once again - have drawn hundreds of thousands of women all over the world, including 500,000 in Los Angeles (which brought these three women together for the first time ever). Trump had the audacity to tweet credit for today's marches, which is true - just not in the way he spins. Also on the docket: The President's "excellent" bill of health, as pronounced by White House doctor Ronny Jackson, and the issues surrounding the #TrumpShutdown, CHIP, and DACA.

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay! 1. We rebroadcast the Jan. 18, 2018 show. In The Souls Waiting Room is a series of radio dramas, written as a perspective and told in the voice of an imaginery character called, "The Keeper of Souls Purpose." The Keeper's purpose is to see that every Soul coming to the Human Realm has its purpose. Why the Keeper has chosen to speak with Jeff, one of Voice of Evolution Radio's hosts, is a mystery that we hope to unravel. We wanted to talk about the Divine Feminine months ago and the Keeper said, "No, wait." So we waited and waited. Suddenly, there were the upcoming Women's Marches and the Me, Too movement, and the Keeper said, "Now." This is why we're calling episode 10 the lost episode. Episode 11, Ashes to Ashes; Stardust to Stardust was aired in 2017. Starring Jeff Hendler, as the Interviewer, John Breeze as The Keeper, and Amina Dickerson as ... well, you'll see. In The Souls Waiting Room is written and produced by Linda Lombardo.

MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills look back at a tumultous year in politics from the progressive point of view in the year-end edition of the weekly MOMochat podcast. The focus will be on the success of the grassroots Resistance, beginning with the Women's Marches, the Republicans' failure to repeal Obamacare despite holding all the power in government, and on through to victories in off-year and special elections in Virginia and Alabama. We hope to throw a lot of red meat to anemic lefties as we prepare for a big mid-term election year.An Engender Media Group production.

Who are we? Why did we start a podcast? What's up with Jeanette's PhD pursuit? After we run down some introductions and a syllabus for the podcast, we get down to business to discuss our experiences at the Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Women's Marches.
In this episode, I shine a light on the very thing we are trained not to look at in ourselves as women: Anger. And in doing so, my invitation is a call to let it out more, to listen to it, and to actually leverage it as rocket fuel to create change, rather than have it stew and sour inside us creating shame and ultimately disconnection and dis-ease. I explore the difference between anger (which is natural energy) and violence (which is harmful action), and play with my own desire to actually practice anger rather than doing what I'm told to do as a woman: "manage" it, hide it, or pretend it doesn't exist. The riff at the end of this episode shares my most recent reflections on this in light of the Women's Marches that happened all over the world on Inauguration Day this past January 20th.
Thanks to the iconic film, the term "Groundhog Day" has become code for living the same lousy experience over and over again. To figure out how to avoid Groundhog Day syndrome in policy and politics, the 20 by 70 podcast takes a rollicking tour through ... the wit and wisdom of Bill Murray, the South Park underpants gnomes, something called "logic models," a new play about John Lewis and the Selma bridge, the Women's Marches and Indivisible. Oh, and how to plan a wedding, too.
This month's edition of Women's Liberation Radio News is our tenth so far, focusing on "Conflict, Self-Love & Sisterhood" within the independent women's movement. How can we strategize through the inevitable personal and political conflicts women's organizations face? How can we strengthen our resolve through self-love in a patriarchal world that benefits from women being alienated from themselves and their sisters? Listen on for advice from Ruth Greenberg who hit the ground running in her activism by forming a successful radical feminist collective in the UK soon after becoming radicalized herself, and from our very own Thistle Pettersen, a feminist folk singer from Madison, Wisconsin. In addition, Cathy Brennan talks about the new lesbian group, Bunch of Dykes. Thanks for tuning in to WLRN and be sure to check out our March Edition on the Women's Marches next month!

This week on “Lady Problems,” the MTV News podcast dedicated to pop culture’s treatment of women, Hazel Cills, Teo Bugbee, and Rachel Handler are joined by MTV News Culture Editor Leah Beckmann. First, the four of us break down the Oscar nominations and the utter horror we're all feeling at the fact that Annette Bening was not nominated for 20th Century Women (really, this is just an excuse for us to talk for an extremely long time about 20th Century Women). Later, we'll share our personal experiences at various Women's Marches over the weekend — then discuss the very valid criticisms of the march and what we're planning on doing next. Later, we break our no-men-on-this-podcast rule to answer a Lady Problem from our friend Charles.

This gets weird fast as we decide to take a break from serious news and just shoot the shit. We accept Andrew's firing of us all. The perfect penis? Pre-sex hygiene habits? Pegging? This After Dark has it all. Except class.

Credit where credit is due the title is stolen from one of my favorite comics, Bill Hicks. So thank you Bill. Nicki Jones returns to the show for this installment of JAWGPOD. We speak truth to stupid and look at opposing view points of the recent Women's Marches around the country and around the world. We talk the first couple of days of the Trump administration, we answer a listener question about our opinions on the pro life/pro choice debate. If that isn't heated enough we talk about OSCAR nominations and finally Minnesota Wild hockey. Enjoy the show!!
America has a new president. It also has a new show that will zoom in closely on Donald Trump's first 100 days as commander-in-chief and how people from coast to coast are adjusting to the change in power. In this first episode of Indivisible, we invite listeners from all over to call in and talk about how different things feel on this first full day of the new presidency. You'll hear from people who attended the inauguration in celebration of Trump, as well as those who protested the following day in Women's Marches across the country. We also talk to Pramila Jayapal, who's new to Beltway politics and recently made history in her own right with her election to Congress. Indivisible Week 1: New President, New Show, New Normal
Sestra Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/mixtressrae/playlist/0ixkWuNc7rPIFpBEK780sg This episode is missing some content. In the introduction, I say I'll be talking about the anxious/nightmarish beginning to my week. I decided not to include it because it's too raw for me right now. I also recorded a review of "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" but my phone destroyed the footage. This episode does include discussions of politics and my general philosophy of being hopeful in the face of negativity. Get out your sage sticks, bitches!! ^^^What's This Bitch Talking About? is the podcast version of Mixtress Radio (airs every Friday from 7-11pm CST on mixtressrae.com) Most of the songs mentioned are contained in the Sestra Playlist, link above.

Millennials get shit on from every direction, but we're still expected to live up to past generation's successes. FUCK YOU MOM.
