Summer road trips sound relaxing until somebody brings up Arkansas, somebody else starts pitching Michigan like it's the Caribbean, and then WalletHub comes in and tells Missouri it's basically a budget destination with terrible road safety. In this daily podcast, The Rizzuto Show asks the simple question: "Anybody taking a road trip this summer?" Naturally, that spirals into college visits to the University of Arkansas, debates over Michigan's crystal-clear water, and whether Walmart money is secretly funding one of the greatest business schools around. Then things take a turn.A new study ranks the best and worst states for summer road trips, and the gang cannot believe some of the results. Minnesota somehow takes the crown, Louisiana sneaks near the top, and poor Rhode Island gets crowned the absolute worst road trip destination. Delaware catches strays. California gets roasted for traffic and gas prices. Missouri lands squarely in the "could be worse…but also could be way better" category. And because no Rizz Show conversation stays on the rails, the crew ends up asking an even more important question: How much money would it take for you to spend the rest of your life trapped inside Rhode Island?Five million? Ten million? Twenty million? Half a billion?Suddenly everybody's planning seafood dinners, retirement parties, dividend income, and figuring out exactly how far into the ocean they're allowed to sail before violating the rules of their tiny state prison. It's the kind of completely normal conversation you'd expect from a daily podcast featuring road trip rankings, college recruiting pitches, geographic hypotheticals, and enough Rhode Island real estate planning to confuse an actual travel agent. If you're planning a summer getaway, thinking about a road trip, or simply enjoy hearing adults passionately debate states they've barely visited, this daily podcast has exactly the chaos you're looking for.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Man used massage gun on his tired eyeballs. Hump Day!! Got some rain on the overnight, but should stay dry for the rest of the day. Which is good…because my guy, Chuck, is coming over later today and we're gonna work on getting that firepit finished. In the news this morning, it sounds like the father who fell to his death at Madison Square Garden last weekend might have actually jumped, a deadly shooting at a library in California, the Knicks fan who stole a trash can after dumping all the garbage on the sidewalk gets fired from her job, M&M's is getting rid of two colors, In sports, the Brewers beat the Reds again last night, a look at the first round of the NBA Draft…including the Bucks picks, the NFL cancels the supplemental draft which essentially ends Brendan Sorsby's chances of playing in the league this year, the Trailblazers have hired Micah Nori for their head coach, and President Trump is going to present the FIFA trophy to this year's World Cup winners. We let you know what's on TV & streaming today/tonight. Plus, Jack White is getting divorced, and the trailer for Ben Stiller's pickleball movie is out. A woman's birthday party invite goes viral and a bunch of strangers showed up to hang out with her…and an engineering student has designed 3D dentures to help out people who need them. It's One Gotta Go Wednesday…and this week, we had to choose between four Midwestern states - Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, or Illinois! And speaking of states…Wallethub just released it's annual report on the best & worst states for a road trip this Summer. Elsewhere in sports, the Oilers have hired Mike Babcock to be their next head coach, the Patriots are looking to play a game in Scotland sometime in the near future after the success of the Tartan Army coming to Boston for the World Cup, Tiger Woods made his first appearance since his DUI arrest a few months ago, and Linda Cohn is likely done at ESPN. A recent hypothetical poll asked people if they'd rather become 10% happier, 20% luckier, age 30% slower, become 40% prettier or hotter, get paid 50% more money for your job, or become 60% better in ANY sport. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a semi carrying millions of bees that overturned in Texas, a Walmart cashier that hid a winning lottery ticket from an elderly customer, a guy who was using a massage gun on his eyeballs, and a cannibal who was digging up bodies from cemeteries in Hungary.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Utah is often defined by WalletHub’s “Best & Worst States for Women’s Equality,” a ranking in which the state has placed dead last—50th of 50—for eleven consecutive years. Dr. Susan Madsen, Founding Director of the Utah Women & Leadership Project, joins the show to explain how Utah really stacks up for women.
Think your state has the worst drivers? We put that assumption to the test with WalletHub's 2026 rankings, breaking down where it's cheapest, safest, and most convenient to own and drive a car—and why it rarely matches what your daily commute feels like. With WalletHub's Chip Lupo, we unpack a clear four-part framework: cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic and infrastructure, safety, and access to vehicles and repair. We go beyond headlines to the practical questions drivers actually face: How do gas prices and insurance premiums stack up? Does dealership and shop density change how well people maintain their cars? Where do theft and fatality risks really live, and how do sprawling metros skew statewide averages?Texas becomes our on-the-road case study. Ranked 13th overall, it benefits from strong access to dealerships and service and competitive fuel prices, even as fast growth and weather nudge road quality down the list. We contrast urban congestion in Houston and Dallas with the relief found on rural stretches, then look at how fatality rates include pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles—an essential nuance when speed limits function more like guidelines than rules. For anyone planning a move, budgeting for a teen driver, or weighing a new car purchase, the data offers a map to smarter decisions: fuel, insurance, registration fees, property taxes on vehicles, and maintenance costs all add up differently by state. We keep it useful with two hands-on segments. First, a Motor Minute on tire disposal that shows the cleanest, legal ways to recycle or repurpose old rubber—retailer returns, city transfer stations, and safe DIY options. Then we take the Lexus RX 450h+ for a deep spin: standout design, refined cabin, satisfying power, and real-world efficiency, with a few ergonomic wishes for more physical controls. If you're curious where your state lands, how the numbers are built, and what choices actually lower your total cost of ownership, this episode connects the dots from policy to pavement.Enjoy the conversation? It's been a while since we've last spoken and we have to speed up our NFL division previews. This week we tackle two divisions, the NFC East and NFC South. In the East, the Eagles look locked in as favorites despite Landon Dickerson's knee scare and major expectations on newly extended Saquon Barkley. The Commanders are riding momentum under Dan Quinn after last year's surprise playoff run, while the Cowboys stir headlines with Dak Prescott predicting a deep postseason push and Micah Parsons still in a contract standoff. The Giants linger as longshots, but rookie RB Dante Miller's preseason breakout has fans buzzing. In the South, Tampa Bay is eyeing a fifth straight crown with Baker Mayfield preserved for Week 1 and rookie WR Emeka Egbuka shining, though Tristan Wirfs' injury looms large. Atlanta's fate hinges on Michael Penix Jr. in a true boom or bust season, while the Saints begin the Kellen Moore era hoping to bounce back from the basement. Carolina stays in rebuild mode under Dave Canales, looking for any spark to climb out of the division's cellar.Who do we think are legit and whose season might be over before it even starts? Listen to find out. Connor has a breakfast shot take, Nick adds another state to our list of 'Worst States,' and Producer Brett has it out for a certain piece of technology that hasn't changed in 30 to 40 years.

It was a rough week in entertainment, as we lost Chuck Mangione, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Hulk Hogan, and Ozzy Osbourne. A man was arrested for putting his nose where it didn't belong, a firefighter flooded a baseball field after his car was hit by a fly ball, and we review the CNBC list of the Best and Worst States in the US. An NYPD officer stole money to pay for tight glutes, a sex offender was caught trying to buy oversized bunk beds, and Chuck E. Cheese learned to not do the crime if you can't do the time. People in Florida and Alabama were arrested for abusing multiple children, an Australian man kept $26K he found on a train, and a NJ Little Leaguer was suspended for a bat flip.

Would you move abroad to reach FI faster? That wasn't Brooklin Nash's original goal when he left the US and began freelancing from afar. But now, years later, he realizes how much of a leg up he has financially by going all-in on “geo arbitrage.” He's saving a boatload in Guatemala, paying less to live the life he loves, and enjoying a tiny tax bill. Now in his mid-thirties, he's already Coast FIRE and works when and where he wants. But Brooklin's money story didn't start so stable. Being raised in a home with “risky” finances, to say the least (pyramid schemes, gambling, etc.), left him scarred and constantly worrying about keeping enough money in the bank. Thankfully, he changed his ways and realized that making money, rather than just saving every cent, was crucial to becoming financially free. He's paid off a significant sum in student loans and did it all while making a very meager income. Then, he scaled from freelancing abroad to building an entire business, making a phenomenal income while living in a low-cost-of-living area. He's living his dream life outside the US, making more money than Americans at home. Imagine what THAT can do for your FIRE number! In This Episode We Cover Using “geo arbitrage” to save more, invest more, and lower your cost of living An almost unbelievable income tax exclusion Americans abroad can access How Brooklin paid off $80,000 in student debt (even on a lower income) Turning your freelancing work into a full-blown (and VERY high-paying) business Why the optimal FIRE lifestyle may actually include working a few hours a day And So Much More!
