This fun-loving episode comes to you all the way from Australia. We all carry a set of beliefs that have often been passed down to us through our ancestors. Sometimes, these beliefs can actually be what creates self sabotaging behaviors and limits in our lives. Today Mind Body Coach Rachel Clissold chats with Jenn and Leah about what to do to break through these limits and live a bold and free life. Rachel is an acclaimed Reiki Master, Qualified practitioner in NLP, EFT, Hypnosis & Past Life Regression. “I'm all about being real, authentic and vulnerable as I know all too well the pain & suffering that comes from being disconnected to the Self, not knowing how to communicate effectively & making unconscious choices to numb the pain rather than deal with it. I will help you get clear, grounded & draw out the best of you so you can create an even greater impact.” In this episode we discussed: Learning the language of your body Finding the core wound to free yourself Where our limiting beliefs actually came from How powerful questions can shift everything Links: rachelclissold@gmail.com Instagram @Rachel.clissold Facebook https://www.facebook.com/rachelclissold.energy/ Stay in Touch: Website Instagram: @deepchatspodcast Watch our interviews recorded live on YouTube About Leah & Jenn Leah Morris is a Life & Relationship Transition Coach, founder of Life Remade, published writer, and motivational speaker... In this episode, Leah and Jenn take a deep dive into astrology with Oak and talk about how it is a powerful framework for self-actualization and liberation. Oak shares his own personal story and provides a beautiful framework for us all to be able to understand what astrology can provide for each of us. As Oak says, the possibilities and the potential are limitless. About Oak: I am certified by the NCGR- Professional Astrologers Alliance and have had my astrology consultation practice for the past 7 years. I have been engaged in the healing arts for over 10 years. My practice is influenced by classical astrology, modern psychological astrology and my studies in the healing arts. As an herbalist, I weave astrology with my deep connection to the earth and the body. My work with astrology is informed by my experience as a queer first generation Filipinx American (they/them). I use astrology as a guidepost for the navigation of the material, ancestral, cosmic and practical. I am honored to share this work that has fully changed my life and continuously graces my life with knowledge, guidance and depth. I have been blessed to draw close to other healers as students, especially BIPOC, LGBTQ and other Filipinx healers. As a teacher, I am clear, practical and magical. Teaching astrology is to share divine love, it is the grace of the universe and the language of all things. Are you the kind of person who is so deeply moved by life that you find yourself feeling the experience in a very physical way? Goosebumps, physical pain, tears of joy, etc? This, along with many other things can mean that you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). On today’s episode, Christy Espinel joins us to shares of her experience growing up and discovering recently that she is an HSP. She shares about how this can be used as a powerful tool to positively impact your life. Christy is a Miami native that has grown up surrounded by music and Hispanic heritage. She started choral singing at a young age and participated in various national choral ensembles as her love of expression through music only grew. She was chosen to attend the New World School of the Arts College where she participated in various productions. As an adult, Christy gained a passion for early childhood education through music. Her accomplishments in the field include becoming a certified Music Together teacher and even recently achieving the “Master Teacher” level with the Canta y Baila Conmigo program. She has taught countless families in the South Miami area for almost 10 years and continues to enjoy her long-lasting relationships with all the families lucky enough to find a spot in her classes. What is it like as a young millennial in a world that is rapidly transforming? Well, it’s chaotic... which is why adaptability and curiosity are key tools while navigating such times. With our youngest guest yet, we are proud to dive into a Deep Chat with 22 year old, Emilio Ortiz. Emilio is a curious seeker, podcaster, and college student who underwent a spiritual awakening during his studies and is on a journey of personal transformation. His epiphany and need to make inner changes came at a time when he delved too deep into the superficial aspects of college life such as binge drinking on weekends and mindlessly reacting to the world. From Colombian and American origins, Emilio has a multicultural understanding of the world and has a unique ability to adapt to new environments and relate to a range of diverse people. His curiosity has sparked him to get out of his comfort zone and tap into his inner gifts and light to aid in the collective mission to raise human consciousness. In this episode we discussed: Adaptability and knowing how to deal with change Learning how to make time for self awareness Letting go of attachment to labels and biases How curiosity was taken from us and how to get it back Emilio’s journey from partying, to physical exhaustion, to finally waking up at 22 years old Links: @iamemilioortiz @theinnergymotto 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey Stay in Touch: Website Instagram: @deepchatspodcast Watch our interviews recorded live on YouTube About Leah & Jenn Leah Morris is a Life & Relationship Transition Coach, founder of Life Remade, published writer, and motivational speaker... Leah and Jenn are thrilled to speak with Corey about why it is so important for us all to have a board of directors in our personal lives, just as we would in certain professional settings. Corey has created this powerful and dynamic community where women come together to share and provide their own wisdom honestly and openly. In this episode we discussed: The difference between our close friends and women on our board. Why it is necessary to share our stories and be witnessed in our lives. The components of being validated, being given different perspectives, and being held accountable. The growing need for community. You do you! Corey Spiegel spent her career working as a senior executive in the entertainment space - Playboy, Warner Bros., Extra, Ellen and TMZ to name a few, overseeing digital sales, product integrations and brand partnerships. She learned a ton at these companies but after so many years in the trenches, it was time to start her own business in a space that combined her skillset and her passion points outside of advertising. Despite having a tight circle of friends, Corey realized it's simply not the same dynamic when you ask your BFF to problem-solve. It's too biased, too loving, too one-sided. Often, an objective audience works better than a dearest confidant. So she created Light House - a place where women find clarity and perspective. Today, we're a large community of bold women seeking to live purposeful lives. We're having real conversations on real topics with real women about real life. Men are often overlooked when it comes to inner turmoil, and are expected to just get on with it, continue providing, and standing strong for those around them. We haven’t been very good at offering men a space to show up, walls down, to explore and rebuild from the inside out. So many men are taught to wear masks in an effort to hide their true feelings. In this episode, Emma Wynne dives right into the heart of why this is and how to work through it. Emma starred on The Single Wives on Netflix, is a Men’s Vulnerability Coach, and a Master NLP Practitioner. She serves Men to Transform their Pain into their Greatest Power. In this episode we discussed: Why inner talk is imperative The first steps to being vulnerable How asking for support doesn’t mean you’re failing How the more vulnerability that’s expressed, the higher the reward Links: @emmawynnecoaching Podcast: Walk Through the Wound emmawynne.com.au Stay in Touch: Website Instagram: @deepchatspodcast Watch our interviews recorded live on YouTube About Leah & Jenn Leah Morris is a Life & Relationship Transition Coach, founder of Life Remade, published writer, and motivational speaker... Jenn and Leah dive into a conversation about the need to “do” when we really just need to “be”. There’s a constant urge to work hard and struggle when it comes to many aspects in life (career, friendships, love, etc.) Our fear-based default is to rush and take the path of resistance rather than calmly wait for the path of least resistance to reveal itself. Our co hosts explore how this feels, why this is, and what it takes to just shut up and trust. “Ask and you shall receive.” This is such a simple concept that we believe is buried underneath layers of conditioning, fear, doubt, and a multitude of other preconceptions. Why do we wait to be chosen instead of just asking? In this Deep Chat, we explore why this is and how we can begin to simply ask. In this episode we discussed: The false narratives that determine our abilities to ask. Fear of rejection. How to show up to receive what we’re asking for. How to ask for things in a way that inspires others to give to us. Letting go of the outcome. We are loving this deep and insightful conversation we had on this episode with Ben Heldfond. Ben and his ex-wife have cultivated the type of post-divorce family that many people do not believe to be possible. After chatting with Nikki last week, we couldn’t wait to talk with Ben. Although it hasn’t been easy, Ben shares vulnerably about how he was able to take an honest look at himself, become the man he aspired to be, and join together with Nikki to do the work it takes to put their son first always. Ben Heldfond understands the detriment divorce can cause in the lives of children, as his parents’ divorce instilled a deep commitment to do better for his children one day. As Co-Founder of Our Happy Divorce, a service that offers guidance on creating a post-divorce happy, modern family and Author of "Our Happy Divorce - How Ending Our Marriage Brought Us Together,” Heldfond has made it his mission to help families during the turmoil divorce can become. In this episode we discussed: How Ben was able to pivot from anger and conflict to peace and cohesiveness during the divorce process. The importance of cleaning up the wreckage of past relationships. Although it hasn’t been easy, Nikki very honestly shares about the journey that she’s been on and how the life she has now is one that she wouldn’t trade for the world. Nikki DeBartolo understands the impact of a loving family and how it creates a solid foundation for the future for a person navigating through life, love, marriage, and motherhood. As Co-Founder of Our Happy Divorce, a service that offers guidance on creating a post-divorce happy, modern family and Author of "Our Happy Divorce - How Ending Our Marriage Brought Us Together, DeBartolo has made it her mission to help families in every way possible. We are in the midst of a civil rights movement that is spanning the globe sparked by the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the long list of people of color who have been murdered and lynched for too many years to count. It is imperative that we be in conversation and lean into any of the discomforts being felt. It is essential that we learn how to own our white privilege and use our voices to create a country where once and for all, every human is equal under the law. Leah and Jenn have a deep and heartfelt conversation about ending white silence, owning white privilege, and standing for black lives matter. #endwhitesilence #blacklivesmatter #whitesilenceisviolence #amplifymelanatedvoices In this episode we discussed: Each person needs to start learning and contributing from wherever they are. The importance of not shaming one another. Learning the truth about black history and the black experience in America. Leaning into the difficult and uncomfortable conversations. Allowing the discomfort to guide you toward healing yourself. Talking to children about racism. Be vigilant in finding your own narrative. In 2008, Lisa Baker Morgan, a thirty-eight-year-old, newly divorced mother, unexpectedly found herself staring down death in a Monaco hospital, nine time zones away from her two young daughters in Los Angeles. After facing mortality and surviving, her life took on a sense of urgency to experience and accomplish all of the things she had ever wanted for herself and her daughters. Top of her list: a life-long desire to live in Paris. The seemingly indulgent and even "crazy" aspiration was part of a journey that set her on the path of recovery of health and of spirit. In this Deep Chats episode, we get to hear about Lisa’s incredible journey and how it has shaped her life as a result. Beyond inspiring, and yet incredibly humble, this is a conversation that we know will touch you all. In this episode we discussed: How to BE the future that you want. As our first male guest on the show, we felt that Nate Mezmer was the perfect person to discuss the concepts of masculine and feminine energies with us. As a society, we have been conditioned to view and use these energies in certain ways, but when is it time to reframe and redirect? In this deep chat, we use this lens to cover a variety of topics ranging from our government to our local communities. In this episode we discussed: "Language" and how changing our language around these things can shift ourselves, ripple with others, and change the future. Masculine and Feminine in relation to vulnerability and how it relates to the uncertainty that is happening right now. Why shifting our values system to a more balanced feminine/masculine approach is exactly what the world needs right now to be well and heal. The dream for the future: Having relationships, communities, and systems that are healthier with the possibility of shifting into a better balance of these energies. Vulnerability equals Strength How top down systems may not be working anymore. Redefining “success” as collective wellness.
