TL;DR: With lazy minting, you have the option to make your NFT attainable off the blockchain, so you only pay for gas(the fees associated with the computing power it takes to add your NFT to the blockchain) once your NFT has been sold. cocoNFT helps make this possible! Not too many years ago, you may have heard the word “meme” and assumed it referred to someone's estranged French Canadian grandmother. Now, iconic digital images like Disaster Girl and everyone's favorite flying feline toaster pastry Nyan Cat (see image below) have sold at auction for as much as half a million dollars. Total NFT sales this year so far clock in at an absolutely ice cold $2.5 billion. https://blog.coconft.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-create-an-nft-755d0db24757

The EVAC Movement started with a group of students and our teacher, Amy Donofrio, in Jacksonville, Florida. Our class was full of conflict and divided, until we began sharing our stories, and realized our shared traumatic experiences: murdered loved ones, incarceration, and police brutality. We began not only to bond…but motivated to create change. We began by inviting police officers to class for youth-led roundtables and just over one year later, these powerful in-class discussions led to us speaking at the White House, meeting President Barack Obama, making the front page of The New York Times and winning first-place nationwide in a contest sponsored by Harvard. We share this journey in our Tedx Talk, “At-Risk or At-Hope? How We Label Youth Matters.”

Adam Souza's father has been the head grower of a local nursery for 25 years. He has always been intrigued by the genus & species of a plant, how it grew and what affected that. He grew up around Agriculture which had taught the importance of farming. Adam was plugging trays at 7 years old and remembers as a kid anywhere he would go, he would point out unique looking plants and name what they were. Growing up underprivileged, Adam wanted something better. School wasn't for him as he dropped out of college to focus on music. He has been making music since 2003, which taught him how to brand through social media. In 2012, he moved to Wyoming, selling cannabis as a way to support his music habit. Money was great, but after a few friends got into trouble, I decided to start selling phones instead. He quickly realized having an empathetic mindset makes for a killer salesman. Making the mistake of chasing money after becoming bored with cell phones, he got into car sales. He was able to sell 12 cars in 1 month, but after having to go against morals just for a flat, he quit. He went and moved to Colorado for a fresh start, finding a job at AT&T. From here the journey gets very very very interesting and Adams journey is one that many of us go down, but few of us recover from. Please join me and welcome Adam to the Stars Podcast family! #EnjoyTheJourney

I used to tear up the competition. I used to dog on them and make fun of their technology or their features. I used to try to win because the other guy sucked. I didn't sell very much by doing that. I didn't understand why the customer couldn't see how superior my product was to the comps. Then I started blaming the customers. I started thinking they were stupid or something. How could they not see what I saw in my solutions? ... WORST SALES GUY EVER ... I cannot pin point where I heard the saying from but I remember the saying " If you are helping others make money then you never have to worry about money". This is part of it, but not the full picture. However, this is where I started to have success. I started to slash prices and give discounts to beat the other guys. I would go out of my way to try and save them money. That is how I got my opportunities. I saved bottom line dollars. From there I created relationships by ALWAYS being available, ALWAYS changing my schedule to fit their needs, and ALWAYS being transparent with the customer. Sometimes I was too transparent, but I figured give them the information and they can make the decisions themselves. By being authentic in my interactions with them they started to gain trust in me. I stuck it out for years like this. I didn't make hardly any money the first few years in my career. I made enough to live decent enough, BUT there was something bigger at play here. I was starting to enjoy the pursuit of new business. I welcomed the competition because I started to gain and understanding about my customers NEEDS and DESIRES because I was listening to them more than SELLING them. I was creating bonds with them. I was creating a deeper connection to them. I was not doing it because i was trying to manipulate them. Some of them still never bought from me. A lot of them did, but some still do not buy ANYTHING from me. Granted I do not spend a lot of energy on those accounts, but I sort of know why. The OTHER guy already created those relationships there and they are winning that battle. I stay connected though, in case they retire or they just cant meet one of those needs. Being a SOLID number 2 option is better than nothing at all sometimes. Getting to that level took about 4 years to accomplish. I went to the trade shows and did trainings for the up and coming talent for free for years. I put myself out there not gaining anything except knowledge about the customers I was serving. That knowledge helped me in my delivery and my approach to my customers. You know what i figured out ... they're just normal people with bosses that want certain things out of them. They are NO DIFFERENT than I am. They have goals in their job. Maybe I can meet that, maybe I can't. Maybe my competitor does it better. HOWEVER - By sticking to my plan of learning more about the customers NEEDS I am now able to help them, guide them, protect them, and they trust me more now. The last couple years of my business has been amazing, but I had to be in the business for YEARS before I was comfortable being able to "challenge" the customers and have that be respected. If I would have tried that early on then I would have had NO CLUE what I was talking about. This all came from TIME IN THE TRENCHES! I put the time in because I wanted to succeed at this thing. I wanted it more than I wanted the money. I wanted to be a resource more than a salesman. WHEN THAT transition happened I transitioned into more money somehow! Caring and being a genuine human being matters in the business world. CUT THROAT tactics are short term thinking. I want to have passive income so I can focus on GROWING business than worrying about where the next sale is coming from. In order to do that, I have to care about my business and the people's lives that are effected as a result. This is how I am winning business. I care a whole hell of a lot about people and their lives.
There are times in my life where I have been ALL in on something for literally 2 seconds, told everyone about it and then looked so foolish on my exit strategy (if there is one). I think I have told you about my cell phone experience in High School. Well after the cell phone experience I had a car experience. I would tell everyone I was getting this car that I saw on EBAY because I was told, find a car and we will buy it. Well, i found a BUNCH of cars with cool wheels and shared them with my buddies on AOL Messenger only to be let down time and time again and told we can't right now, but we will. I looked so foolish and it was embarrassing. Not ONLY did I not have the car that I thought would make me cool, now I lied to all of them AGAIN. I learned VALUABLE lessons through both experiences DO NOT do this to people because they lose trust in what you have to say. Hmmm... FF to RIGHT NOW in my life. When I get hot on something I am loud. I like to tell people. However, I will only tiptoe in things until I can make sense of the new puzzle. My newest puzzle is Crypto "currencies" and Distributed Networks. I am tackling this with caution of course, but as I am coming to find out the hermits have emerged and reached out to me. They have all been IN on crypto for years! AND now to boot I am learning that there are ENTIRE industries being built with very little following 1M or less that are having MASSIVE impact. I am learning that all of these companies are sort of propping each other up. I look at all of these crypto currencies like any other business venture. There seem to always a "big 5" when it comes to businesses and making up market share. There are usually 2 BIG companies and 3 fortune 100 companies then the rest that make up the market. I think of Oil companies and Car manufacturers for this example, but I think the same holds true in ANY market you look into. Crypto currently has 2 front runners for those top spots being BITCOIN and ETHEREUM. Think of them as your DOW JONES top businesses. They will also have other projects within their ecosystems. Hence why there are a bazillion of these currencies out there. If you follow the projects you can follow the money and follow the investments. If you trust the team, get into their community. Get into the weeds on this. You will need to spend time in the discord chats and telegram chats. These are all places where the conversations are happening. The communities are talking and strategizing. Dont forget or sleep on the fact that GameStop stock was manipulated by a chatroom. We are ants that are connected now and we can down down some massive things if we direct ALL our energy at a target. ALSO- Once you dive deeper into the projects you will find out that they are mimicking systems already in place by traditional institutions. T hey are not recreating the wheel, just adapting for the virtual online world we are currently residing in. I urge you all to do more research into this stuff, but I feel like there is some REAL money to be made if you stop watching the news and sports for a couple weeks and dive in here. Dive into the research, and then dive into the investments if you feel like you can. OH AND GET ON THE GARYVEE VEEFREINDS DISCORD. This community is just like ours, hard working humble, and kind. Have you ever played a game online and bought more "gems" or "coins" to get to the next level on Candy Crush or some other APP based game? I know I have and I KNOW all of our kids have at some point. They have at LEAST asked. My life is 80/20 online to IRL as are most during the pandemic. I have been an "internet" guy for my whole life. I have always been a gamer. I seem to be more trusting of the online platforms than most. Keep these facts in mind as I run you through the things I have learned in the past 30 days about Crypto, Blockchain, Hot/Cold wallets, and Web 3.0. I may botch terms and none of this is advice to invest or any of that. I'm just trying ot help the next person trying to understand the process and why this stuff exists at all. Lets start at Blockchain. The way I understand Block - Chain is this. The sequence of all blocks that have been committed to the Ethereum network in the history of the network. So-named because each block contains a reference to the previous block, which helps us maintain an ordering over all blocks (and thus over the precise history). Think of this in terms of a normal dollar. We have all used dollars forever for physical goods and services. Think all people in America agreeing that 1 dollar is how much 1 12 oz cup of coffee should cost. We all agree. Now that coffee costs 1 dollar. Well, then comes along a person that says well, I think it should be 2 dollars. We all disagree with that person and tell them nope, cant do it. That transaction doesn't go through. These transactions are done in "blocks" at a time which are sometimes hundreds at a time. The "CHAIN" refers to all of us agreeing on the $1 coffee. Phew, okay Now, we need a market to sell the coffee. Crap ... we can't do this all on our own we need a community to do this. This is where I am going to drop the coffee act and move to Ethereum specifically. Using that analogy stops working now because this is where things get really different. Sub Ethereum for Coffee Introduce Dapps. These are apps that are using the ethereum as their security backbone for their transactions. This is where my mind starts to sizzle. Yes, we need projects to USE the Ethereum distributed network in order for Ethereum to have any value. If nobody uses it then there is no value. Which is why 99% of the Crypto currencies will likely fail. I think of Bitcoin and Ethereum like Ford and Chevy. They are the front runners. There will be others like Doge, Decentraland, and Cardano that could survive also as they have quite a lot of DAPP projects using their distributed networks. This is where I want to say this ... Invest what you can lose. These could be valued at 3k today and 0 tomorrow. If there are no projects using the distributed system, I do not see how the crypto currency survives. The currency is the safety protocol. When you hear about "MINING" this is what happens. When a bad actor comes into the arena and tries to disagree with our $1 coffee everyone up the blockchain is referred back to in real time as a witness that we are still at $1 coffee. The next node down from Mr. $2 coffee writes a new protocol saying ... Hey I just caught $2 coffee and kicks out that $2 coffee node from the chain and is rewarded with ethereum. That node just mined cryptocurrency. If you are a trusted node and can compute these blockchains against the SMART contract correctly then you earn Ethereum as your payment. Now on to NFT or Non-Fungible Tokens These are the easiest to understand in my opinion. Those apps we all use to pass the time and crush candy ... well the coins you buy to buy "in app purchases" are NFT's (non fungible tokens". The coins have ZERO value if we do not play the game. Same goes for any NFT project. The Art is an afterthought of the actual project in my opinion. yes there will be some jackson pollock caliber NFT that have value just because they're from Beeple and everyone wants one, but that doesn't happen often. Remember that. Think of your beanie babies. Just as much as you lost interest in them, so did the market. We trade our fiat currency (thats fancy for dollar bills" for those coins. In order for that transfer to occur there needs to be a transaction between the game developers and our banks. IN ORDER FOR THAT TRANSACTION TO HAPPEN THE NETWORK MUST BE TRUSTWORTHY. BLOCKCHAIN is designed to be more secure and fair to all players in the world for a few reasons but most notably CENTRALIZED v. DISTRIBUTED networks. Here is the key distinction between Paypal and say ... Ethereum PayPal has a centralized system where PayPal carries the burden of keeping all of the keys to data and transactions at a central system. This is good for transaction speed but not so much for security as the "central" system has a single source to crack the code. This Centralized system can also censor data from being transferred. Ethereum is a Distributed system. yes there is 1 ultimate "smart" contract that we all build from as nodes. There is no personal data stored in the transaction, just the transaction. It is also cryptographically assorted through the blockchain process. This takes more time, but is more secure. Also - Each of those nodes needs paid each time that transaction goes through. Therefore there is "GAS" that powers the system which is "ETH" or ETHEReum. Get it? Marketing level genius. Here are my predictions - We will all have virtual land in decentraland. We will all have "hot" wallets and "cold" wallets for crypto currency. I think this is where we get our "chips" installed in our body somehow to make sure we dont lose our wallets. I also don't think we are too far off from it either. Tattoos of our QR codes. I'm telling you, just listening to the Clubhouse rooms and hearing the community chatter. Things are about to get weirder and weirder. Check back for more info on this as I am not letting this subject go. Starting to learn anything new is a gut punch. I feel like it is a necessary evil, that gut punch that is humility. Humility is a superpower that I want to dive in on. Everyone likes to say they have humility because its hip and cool and we are supposed to be empathetic and self aware. Its lip service from most people I talk to. They want to say they are self aware and open to feedback but fail to respond accordingly when I give feedback. Maybe that is in my delivery. Maybe the actual words I said were not right. We need to have a conversation about my behaviors too. Yes, they're tough. Its tough to put yourself out there when you just went after the other person for their stuff. Thats the point! That humility breeds more humility. That part BREEDS GOOD CONVERSATION. We get to the ROOT CAUSE! In business we call this a root cause analysis. Some comapnies call it "lessons learned" or "post op" or "tailgate meeting". I'm sure you can fill in the gaps I missed there. The only way we learn about each other and create trust is by being vulnerable. In that vulnerability we let the other person know that we are just as human as they are. I would not go out of my way to make a mistake and then call attention to it, that is just manipulation. However, I will call out a MINOR mistake I have made to do two things. First it lets them know I am looking at the details. SOmethign I am not great at. FOr you long time listeners, you know that I am the WORST at details. Us 100MPH entrepreneur type see a new goal to accomplish sometimes before we can get that first one completely across teh finish line. It happens. Pointing out that small detail starts that relationship. That small detail would have KILLED me early in my career. I would have sat there and thought to myself that this person will think I am an idiot if they realize I made that mistake. THEN i would sit there and worry that they were thinking that. INSTEAD of living in the WHAT IF world, we start living in the world where those mistakes are little gold nuggets of trust. I think of my mistakes now as opporutnities. not only an opportuntiy for me to learn and to build a relationship with a new customer/friend/lover. Be careful with your work. Be careful with your words. However, when we do make a mistake just make sure you look in the mirror first before you start pointing fingers. Extreme ownership by JOcko WIllink is a great tool I talk about often. Another tool is the production "Into the Woods". Recently we went to a local high school to watch the production be put on by these fearless high school students. Seriously, they were fantastic. Sure they could have used work, but they're high school kids and they killed it in my book. The story is a mashup of Cinderella, Jack and the Bean Stalk and Little Red Riding Hood. See they all needed something from one another, but didn't know it until they went into the woods. This is classic hero journey as we know from Steven Pressfield's work i have talked about before. Once they all meet one another though a series of wild circumstances and a crazy old man they end up making a huge mistake that they all have a part in creating. There is a number where they all blame each other, but realize quickly they all had a part in the mistake and learn to live with it because they OWN their part. I also heard another example yesterday because of the Ben Askren and Jake Paul MMA matchup coming up. The interviewer asks what do you think about the haters out there Jake? Jake said " I think i'm an elite level fighter, they think I am a joke. I am somewhere in the middle I would guess. BUt we will find out when we fight how good i really am. ". EVen Jake Paul can win me over with some humility. Shout out to my brothers and sisters at Monarch BJJ who are competing tomorrow at Grappling INdustries.
