In the age of online shopping, nothing seems strange anymore - until it does. An anonymous confession we came across recently left us feeling a tad bit bad for this social media user. “Someone, please explain why my girlfriend has a missed call from an online shopping site at 1 am this morning." Now, let's be real, most of us have ordered clothes and other items online, but a call at 1 am is definitely not your average customer service follow-up. We also know what happens when someone slides into your DMs - or in this case, your call log - in the dead of night. Maybe, just maybe her delivery really did get lost on the way to the door and only the company could resolve this pressing issue… at 1am. Perhaps it's just the latest in a long line of late-night delivery incidents Or, could it be that the online shopping platform isn't the culprit here, but instead, a ‘well' disguised name in her contacts? After all, names can be stored as absolutely anything on our phones. The fact remains, someone called in the early hours of the morning and their name was disguised. When suspicious behaviour mixes with modern technology, it doesn't take a detective to connect the dots. While we can't directly accuse anyone, the moral of the story is simple: always check the contact name before assuming it's about a missing package. We HIGHLY doubt any company is making those after-hours calls, there might be something more than just your next delivery going wrong.

The brand is returning to the market with the same values, community and affordability, but with an all new range of products including shoes, apparel, and accessories. Reflecting the expansion in merchandise, the company plans to drop “shoesource,” from the name. Payless intends to start online in ecommerce, with plans to open 300-500 new stores. Dan "The Man" Lok, a multi-millionaire and serial entrepreneur, and an international best-selling author. Dan is considered the world's leading expert in internet marketing and is referred to by many as the "Millionaire Mentor."Dan's rise to success did not come easily. When he first came to North America, it was quite a tough cultural adjustment for him. With his limited knowledge of the English language, it compounded the communication barrier even more. He only had a few friends who understood what he was going through. Most people made fun of him. School life was a real challenge - both inside and outside the classroom. Eventually, Dan dropped out of college. His early career was marked by adversity and struggle. Dan got his first job when he was 16. He was a grocery bagger at a local supermarket, making minimum wage and barely making ends meet.Quite understandably, that's the one and only job Dan ever had.Since then, Dan has only worked for himself. Instead of attending business school, Dan enrolled in the school of hard knocks where he learned firsthand the painful way of what works and what doesn't work in any business.Through hard work, relentless determination, guidance from his mentors, today Dan is a multi-millionaire entrepreneur, a respected figure in the Internet Marketing world, and a highly sought after business mentor, who spends the majority of his time personally managing his businesses and investment portfolio. His reputation is well established in the Internet space and publishing field, having launched several successful internet companies. Companies under his leadership generate more than $10 million in sales a year, and tens of millions of dollars in revenue in the last few years.Dan is one of the rare keynote speakers and business mentors that actually owns a portfolio of highly profitable business ventures. He is also well known for his keen online brand perception, social marketing ideas, business growth strategies, new product promotions, and email marketing genius.Dan is the founder and CEO of Charm Junction, Inc., which was named Online Retailer of The Year by Canada Post in 2012. Dan is also the author of a dozen books that teach financial freedom and entrepreneurial skills, including F.U. Money, Secrets of Canadian Top Performers, Creativity Sucks, and Lies Salon Owners Believe, etc.Because of Dan's transformation journey to reaching the top, in just his early 30′s (yes!), he believes in giving back to the community, and actively seeks opportunities where he can share his real world strategies and proven business fundamentals.- http://www.danlok.comPlease do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on LinkedIn, Instagram, or via email mark@vudream.comLinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/Twitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/Humans.2.0.PodcastMark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/Humans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2Podcast
This episode took a little longer to get to you than usual but, like a fine wine, all good things take time! Today's guest is an amazing entrepreneur, investor, public speaker, co-founder and CEO of Vinomofo – the legend Justin Dry. Like many good ideas, Justin started Vinomofo with his brother in law at the time over a shared belief that wine should not be about “bowties and bullshit”. On Christmas Eve 2006, they decided to start a business together which led to several further wine related businesses that ultimately ended up in the creation of Vinomofo in 2011. Vinomofo now operates in Australia, NZ and Singapore where it has grown quickly to over $50m in annual revenue, 500,000 members (or "mofos"), and a team of 100. Their incredible success has been recognised by a host of accolades include Online Retailer of the Year 2015 at the ORIA's, Telstra Victorian Business of the Year in 2016, and Hottest Aussie Online Retailer in 2018. Justin himself has been Awarded Spotify Young Entrepreneur of the Year at The Australian Startup Awards is a BRW Young Rich Lister and has been named one of the Top 50 People in E-Commerce 2016, 2017 and 2018 by Internet Retailing. I loved hearing how his love for wine and business have persisted throughout his life and his vision has gone through multiple iterations before he landed at “the one”. Plus, as you'll hear we had a good cackle, so it was a seriously enjoyable chat and I hope you love it too! + Full show notes here + Announcements on Insta at @spoonful_of_sarah + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!
