Franklin Barbecue in Austin tops the list with its legendary brisket, while Snow's BBQ in Lexington, helmed by the iconic pitmaster Tootsie Tomanetz, remains a Saturday morning pilgrimage for smoked meat lovers. One of Marcus' favorite spots is Tejas Bar-B-Que and Chocolate Factory, in Tomball, TX, as well as The County Line Bar-B-Que in Waller, TX. Governor Perry states: “Brisket and sausage – nothing else even gets close. Our Bar-B-Que is the best in the world.” But one thing is certain—Texans take their Bar-B-Que as seriously as their state pride. ✅ How Marcus & Governor Perry Met – A story of friendship, leadership, and shared purpose. ✅ Morgan Luttrell's Helicopter Crash – The harrowing experience of Marcus' twin brother, Navy SEAL Morgan Luttrell. ✅ Ibogaine Treatment – A step-by-step breakdown of this groundbreaking therapy for PTSD and TBI. ✅ Stanford Study on Ibogaine – The latest research and findings on this alternative treatment. ✅ Texas Ibogaine Initiative – Governor Perry's goals to bring this life-changing treatment to Texas. ✅ Marcus & Amber Capone's Mission – How they're saving lives by providing funding to help over 1,000 veterans seeking Ibogaine therapy. ✅ Unbelievable Survival Story – A former vet from the third Ranger Battalion had a jump accident where his parachute didn't open, leading to a TBI for 17 years — until he found hope with Ambio and Ibogaine treatment. Don't miss this powerful conversation about healing, resilience, and the future of treatment for our veterans. In This Episode You Will Hear: • I made that fateful statement: “Hey if you're ever through Austin, come by and see us.” Fat chance you're gonna get into the Governor's mansion, right? (10:48) • As we make progress on getting Ibogaine off of schedule 1 and through clinical trials, that facilities will have Ibogaine available to treat traumatic brain injuries. (21:14) • There is a way to regenerate the brain. (23:22) • If you don't want to quit, generally speaking, you're not gonna. (31:42) • Ibogaine. 1 treatment. Within 48 hours the desire is gone. The withdrawals – gone. (33:32) • Ibogaine is on schedule 1. Schedule 1 is addictive, and that is has no medical purpose. (35:56) • The best part about this is that you can't lie t it. (36:25) • I tell people, “Be curious, lean into this.” (40:42) • I think there are a lot of people who are starting clinics. Go somewhere reputable. Do your homework. Make sure there's coaching before. (59:26) • We spend billions of dollars in this state to treat people who have mental health issues. (61:39) • There's no reason why the state legislature wouldn't go, you know what? We need to make this available. (64:57) • I think that use of Ibogaine is another one that could have a massively powerful, positive effect on this country – I think even in the world. (69:51) • For the naysayers and those who still are not believers, we're gonna prove it to you. Former Navy SEAL Marcus Capone and his wife Amber share their emotional story about how a medically assisted Ibogaine treatment session saved their family, and this combat veteran's life.We begin by looking at how life as a Navy SEAL “breacher” and explosives expert, left Marcus with what seemed like untreatable PTSD and brain injuries. We learn how Marcus, once full of life and drive, was quickly slipping into the depression and anger often associated with these injuries. While war fighters receive the initial impact of combat related injuries, they are not the only ones who suffer.Amber Capone describes how life after Marcus' SEAL days, became extremely difficult for her and their children, threatening their marriage and overall family mental health. Facing their breaking point, Marcus and Amber took one last chance on psychedelic therapy.Marcus shares vivid details from his medically assisted Ibogaine session. We hear how the experience differs from the stereo-typical “psychedelic trip” and how he confronted the dark images buried deep beneath the surface. Our interview tracks life after the Ibogaine session too. From their heartfelt reunion to the many ways, they recognize the true healing that came from this complex and mysterious psychedelic compound. We also look at the non-profit foundation they founded, Vets Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS) which has helped over one thousand veterans gain access to psychedelic therapy, develops world class research and works to move VA, DoD and Congress to implement this therapy for veterans. And, we conclude with a most surprising discovery- the incredible connection between psychedelic therapy and God.For more on VETS grants for veterans to access psychedelic therapy, new research and advocacy check out:https://vetsolutions.org/For more military news and veteran stories check out Connecting Vets:https://www.audacy.com/connectingvetsConnect with CBS Eye on Veterans, Host, Phil Briggsphil@connectingvets.comFollow:@philbriggsVet@connectingvetsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Todays opic might seem like a harsh one. PTSD Post traumatic stress syndrome and how it could be healed with MDMA therapy or ibogaine soon. But the world should be informed what this looks like, especially in the current state. Civilians and veterans are suffering. We are exposed to a whole new situation of trauma and war, even just watching what is happening can cause re traumatisation. As heavy as this topic is, I firmly belief the knowledge around healing modalities should be out there. My guests today are real experts on the topic.Amber Capone is the Co-founder and Executive Director of VETS Inc. (Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions, Inc. Co-founder and Executive Director ) a pioneering organisation providing resources, research, and advocacy for U.S. Special Operations veterans seeking psychedelic assisted therapies abroad. Amber has served as the engine behind the dynamic success of the VETS mission since it's inception in 2019, raising funds to support hundreds of veterans, spouses, and Gold Star spouses, while also spearheading research and legislative initiatives at both the state and federal levels. A natural born complex problem solver, Amber is committed to fighting as hard for other veteran families as she did for her own following a tumultuous return to civilian life after her husband, Marcus' 13 year career as a US Navy SEAL.Jonathan M. Lubecky, U.S. Army SGT(R) , is the founder of Lubecky Strategic Direction, Veterans & Governmental Affairs Liason for MAPS, and VP Communications at Apollo Pact. He is a 12-year retiree of the U.S. Armed Forces, serving in both the Marine Corps and the Army. He has been a freelance journalist since 2014. Since 2016 he has been a Strategic Communications & Governmental Affairs Consultant advocating for psychedelic medicine and Veterans. Jonathan returned from a deployment to Iraq in 2006. Shortly after returning, he was diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and a traumatic brain injury. While battling PTSD, enduring multiple forms of treatment, and taking dozens of pills per day to manage symptoms, he attempted to take his life five times. While recovering from that fifth attempt in the hospital, he was instructed to “Google MDMA PTSD”. Beginning exactly 8 years after being released from active duty from Iraq, Jonathan began MDMA-assisted therapy in a MAPS Phase 2 study and completed the protocol in early 2015. As of November 22, 2022 he has been healed of PTSD as long as he had PTSDJon was appointed the National Veterans Director for the Rand Paul for President campaign. Realizing the potential of psychedelic medicine to heal his fellow veterans and the millions of Americans suffering as he once did, he has been involved in media, politics, and government affairs, with a focus on the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Media ever since receiving MDMA therapy.https://vetsolutions.org/https://www.lubeckysd.com/INSTAGRAM: @marcus_amber_capone@jonathanlubecky Hosted on Acast. A special episode of the PR Pace podcast is here this week, as we honor our military and veterans in this episode. First up is Amber Capone. Amber is a co-founder, along with her husband Marcus, of VETS: Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions. They both advocate for the use of medically-supervised psychedelic treatments for veterans struggling with PTSD. Amber shines a light on their work and the hardships that military wives and partners often endure. Crystal Kupper is our next guest, a very talented writer and journalist, focusing on the military. We talk about her path leading into journalism and why everyone should take more time to be up to date on news about our military.
This episode is a little different in that we have not one, but two guests. Today we welcome Marcus and Amber Capone. Over the course of 13 years, Marcus served through multiple combat deployments as a U.S. Navy SEAL until he medically retired in 2013. He and his wife, Amber, thought that life would return to "normal," when in truth, their struggle had just begun. Marcus was experiencing an ever-growing echelon of challenges, including depression, isolation, cognitive impairment, excessive alcohol use, headaches, insomnia, intense mood swings, and impulsivity. Marcus was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress Injury (PTSI). Shocked by this discovery, Amber felt there was more to the story. After learning about the effects of blast waves, concussive, and sub-concussive brain injuries, a broader picture was painted. Marcus' military career as an explosives expert, combined with his prior years of contact sports, had left him with the seemingly invisible wounds of traumatic brain injury (TBI), a condition that has significant overlap with PTSI, and is often not properly diagnosed. Subsequently, they cofounded Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS) with a mission to end veteran suicide, providing resources, research, and advocacy for U.S. Military Veterans seeking treatment with psychedelic-assisted therapy. Marcus and Amber Capone have a 20+ year history of never giving up on one another. Marcus is a retired Navy SEAL who left the military in 2013 after multiple combat deployments. Upon returning home Marcus dealt with countless challenges including depression, isolation, cognitive impairment, and TBI (traumatic brain injury). After exhausting every specialist, brain clinic, and pharmaceutical option with no answers and deepening darkness, Amber explored one last option before giving up hope. Based on the successful experience of a fellow SEAL, Amber and Marcus decided he should undergo a plant medicine experience outside the US. An intervention the couple attributes to saying his life as well as their family. In today's discussion, performance mindset coach, Sean Hansen, discusses the gripping topic of veteran suicide and psychedelic-assisted therapy with the co-founders of Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS), a 501(c)(3) dedicated to ending the veteran suicide epidemic.Marcus and Amber Capone have a 20+ year history of never giving up on one another. After meeting at Southern Illinois University in 1997 and marrying three years later, the young couple moved to Coronado, CA where Marcus began training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL, graduating with BUD/S class 236 just one month after the attacks of 9/11.Like many military families, the Capones adapted to the high operational tempo of combat deployments and wartime training cycles, sometimes keeping Marcus away from home for up to 300 days per year. After 13 years and 7 tours, it was the transition away from the SEAL teams that would prove to be the greatest challenge yet. After years of escalating hardships, misdiagnoses, and failed avenues of healing, Amber was able to arrange for Marcus to leave the U.S. in 2017 to undergo a plant medicine experience; an intervention the couple attributes to saving his life as well as their family. Marcus immediately felt a deep conviction to pay this healing forward to his former teammates, which subsequently launched a successful grassroots effort that culminated in the official formation of VETS in 2019.As a 501(c)(3) organization, VETS provides resources, research, and advocacy for U.S. veterans seeking healing through psychedelic-assisted therapy alternatives. To date, VETS has raised funding for over 400 Special Operations veterans to receive this critical lifeline. Marcus and Amber are committed to fighting for veterans and their families just as hard as they've fought for their own, with an ultimate goal of making these therapies available within the borders of the United States for all who need them. Are you an executive, entrepreneur, or combat veteran looking to overcome subconscious blind spots and limiting messaging to unlock your highest performance? When he was medically retired after 13 years. and multiple combat deployments as a U.S. Navy SEAL, Marcus Capone and his wife, Amber, thought that life would return to normal. Instead, their struggle had just begun. Marcus was experiencing an escalating myriad of challenges, including depression, isolation, cognitive impairment, excessive alcohol use, headaches, insomnia, and impulsivity. Marcus was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but, instinctively, Amber felt there was more to be discovered. After learning about the effects of blast waves, concussive, and subconcussive brain injuries, everything started to become clear. Marcus' military career as an explosives expert, combined with his prior years of contact sports, had left him with the invisible wounds of traumatic brain injury (TBI), a condition that has significant overlap with PTSD, and is often not properly diagnosed. When all hope seemed lost, Amber learned about ibogaine, a plant-based psychedelic used traditionally in West African ceremonial settings that has been studied as a potential treatment for opioid addiction and other mental health conditions. Marcus traveled to a reputable independent clinic outside of the U.S. to receive treatment with Ibogaine, as well as 5-MeO-DMT, another naturally occurring psychedelic compound. Immediately after the sessions, Marcus felt a massive weight had been lifted, his cognitive functioning returned, he had no desire for alcohol, and he stopped taking all prescription medications. Since 2019, the non-profit Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS) has provided grants for hundreds of U.S. Special Forces veterans to receive psychedelic-assisted therapy treatment outside the U.S., as well as preparation and integration coaching. VETS believes that psychedelic therapy can lay the foundation for further healing. This “foundational healing” enables continued progress across a range of therapeutic modalities, and is supported by a robust coaching program, providing a holistic treatment solution for veterans. https://betterhelp.com/clearedhot https://athleticgreens.com/clearedhot https://paintyourlife.com https://letsdisco.com
When I read about the “Veteran Navy SEAL Advocates for Psychedelic Assisted Therapy” called Marcus Capone, I was wondering, what was this all about? A Navy Seal and psychedelics? I kept reading and quickly Amber Capone, Marcus' wife, was introduced in the articles, Amber wanted to save her husband from PTSD and, yes, suicide. And make it possible for war veterans to get in touch with psychedelic-assisted therapy by founding the organization Vet Solutions. Amber's and Marcus' mission today is to end the veteran suicide epidemic by providing resources, research, and advocacy for U.S. military veterans seeking psychedelic-assisted therapies. Vet Solutions helps veterans and their spouses to access treatment with psychedelic therapies including iboga/ibogaine, ketamine, psilocybin, MDMA, 5-MeO-DMT, and ayahuasca. So far in the US. But their model can work on a global level. The story of Marcus and Amber is a pretty strong one. When Marcus was medically retired after 13 years and multiple combat deployments as a U.S. Navy SEAL, Marcus and Amber thought that life would return to normal. Marcus' military career as an explosives expert, combined with his prior years of contact sports, had left him with the invisible wounds of traumatic brain injury (TBI), a condition that has significant overlap with PTSD and is often not properly diagnosed. So here they are, on the podcast, talking about their journey. https://vetsolutions.org/

In this week's episode, Marcus and Amber Capone continue sharing their fascinating journey and offer much detail on finding a solution to Marcus' struggles affecting their whole family. Finally – after Amber's relentless research - a ray of hope arrives in the form of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. Marcus and Amber transparently discuss the steps it took to get the help, and a detailed narrative of the treatment and its incredible effects and psychiatric benefits. It was this revelation that caused them to develop the VETS foundation – helping combat veterans get life-saving help. They have now assisted hundreds of vets providing the resources for the therapy and improving the quality of life for them and their families as well. In this episode you will hear: I almost craved going back to the dysfunction because I knew how to live in the dysfunction. I never wanted to quit [our marriage]. The treatment saved his life, and saved our family. Micro doses of Ibogaine are physiologically changing the brain in a positive direction. Several of the men that have been treated come out never wanting to touch alcohol again. It's like having a backpack on loaded with hundreds of bricks. And as you go through the [treatment] journey, it's like bricks are being thrown out. At the end of it, you have an empty backpack. You face the demons, then they go away. You're cleansing yourself. Some of what you experience is dream-like, while other experiences are real. Everyone is reporting massive cognitive improvement. Amber: I was like “What just happened?” I was so grateful. If we don't speak out; if we don't find the courage and conviction to share something that could work; then we're really doing a disservice to the community. I attained a level of awareness and grace over the course of years as I was working on myself. Psychedelics take you there almost overnight.
Here's a real couple with a real family – and real personal issues - that have overcome with the help of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy alternatives. Marcus and Amber Capone share their struggles and successes, bringing hope and restoration to others with seemingly impossible mental struggles. Their non-profit organization – VETS – provides the resources, research, and advocacy to improve the quality of life for U.S. Special Operations Combat Veterans seeking unconventional therapy alternatives. In this episode you will hear: Thank goodness we didn't have internet in college. You can't get away with anything. We really can't take credit for the work we're doing [helping other combat vets]; it seems like it's just happening. It's meant to be. We're just vessels helping it [our non-profit] come to life. It's been an honor & a privilege to pay this forward. Marcus [Capone] watched GI Jane and decided to become a Navy SEAL. Amber: My dad is a big part of how resilient I've been. Marcus Capone to Marcus Luttrell: I was the first person you saw [in Germany after your Operation Red Wing injuries]. A surprised Marcus Luttrell: “THAT WAS YOU???!!!” We were deployed, and we couldn't find out about anything going on. We were getting updates from our wives back in the states. What we've been doing [our non-profit organization] has organically grown. 2008 was a particularly tough year. At every deployment, somebody wasn't coming home.
Amber Capone and I discuss psychedelic healing, how it's work for her (SEAL) husband, and how it's worked for 120+ Team Guys that have been through the treatment. She and her husband have started a non-profit to specifically fund operators for this treatment. We recorded this a day before my own experience (with Ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT). Long story short - it works. I don't think it's an overstatement to say it can be 10 years of therapy in 12 hours. I've heard about it working for people; and now I've seen it with my own eyes.
