His new release, Ritual Diamonds, came out on March 3 through Earshift Music. The work reimagines Korean ritual drumming and contemporary jazz, creating music that is mysterious, complex and beautiful. On it, Christopher is joined by collaborator and friend, Korean drumming innovator Minyoung Woo and a group rounded out by some of Australia's finest jazz artists: Jamie Oehlers on saxophones, Andrea Keller on acoustic and electric piano, Theo Carbo, guitars and Simon Barker on drums.Christopher was a very generous and engaged conversationalist, giving a lot of insight into his philosophies, process and approach. Eine Möglichkeit, mit der aktuellen Lage besser klar zu kommen, ist, dass man die Erlebnisse dieser besonderen Zeit aufschreibt. Das kann in der Form eines Tagebuchs sein oder mit Texten am Computer ergänzt mit Artikeln aus dem Internet. In der Sendung «Treffpunkt» geben Hörerinnen und Hörer Einblicke in ihre persönlichen Dokumentationen. «Viele Menschen haben bei diesem Vorhaben Schreibblockaden oder Selbstzweifel. Diese Schwierigkeiten sind ganz natürlich und können mit etwas Übung abgebaut werden», sagt Andrea Keller. Die Zürcher Kommunikatorin hat vielen Menschen in einer Krise das Schreiben beigebracht. «Jede Person kann Erlebtes aufschreiben. Man sollte sich dazu bewusst Zeit nehmen. Zum Start könnte man während sieben Minuten ununterbrochen aufschreiben, was einem in den Sinn kommt. Das regt den Schreibfluss an.»

Xani Kolac is a contemporary violinist, composer, bandleader, musical director and industry game-changer. Her unique approach to violin playing blends classical training, jazz improvisation, extended timbral techniques, electronics, looping, percussive grooves. Her playing can be heard across the Melbourne music scene, spanning genres as diverse as contemporary classical, jazz, R&B, rock, folk and musical theatre. She is a Masters graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts/University of Melbourne in improvisation where she studied with Andrea Keller, Peter Knight and Fiona Burnett. She has performed with Paul Grabowsky, Clare Bowditch, Jens Lekman, Tim Rogers and many other artists as well as regularly with her own drums/violin project, The Twoks. Xani has appeared in Malthouse and MTC productions and made her Music Director debut at Black Swan State Theatre Company for Xenides. Passionate about creating more opportunities for female instrumentalists, Xani founded SPIRE who have performed as part of Stand By Your Woman at Hamer Hall in 2017 and 2018. She is currently performing in the award-winning international musical Come From Away at the Comedy Theatre.
