Lured Up Podcast 343Live Streamed on - 4/16/25Publish Date - 4/18/25It has been a week of ups and downs in the Pokémon GO Community, as major news has come out of the Wayfarer camp. With only 2 days notice, Niantic Spatial has officially spun off, and Ingress is no longer connected to the Wayfarer system. This could have a huge impact on the future of the Pokémon GO gameboard, as PGO Trainers have relied on Ingress Agents to be the watchdogs of the map for years. Only time will tell how this will turn out.We start off with a recap of the last week of gameplay including Spring Into Spring, Sparring Partners Raid Day, and the launch of the Horizons Event. Combinations of mechanics, old and new Pokémon, and new Shinies have given us plenty to engage with. Surprisingly, Sparring Parters Raid Day went over well with many Trainers tracking down Mega Heracross, while the egg locked Tinkatink has those on the single incubator grind sweating a bit.Niantic has done a great job with giving us advanced notice on events, as GMAX Snorlax, DMAX Entei, Sweet Discoveries, Vanillite Community Day and Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day are coming our way fast. Plenty of gameplay, plenty of tickets. The $2 ticket doesn't seem all that bad on its own, but when there are 4-6, $2 tickets a month, things really start to add up. With Max Battle and Raid Day tickets coming in at $5 a ticket, our wallets continue to be opened week after week. With all that is going on with Wayfarer, we wonder if some Trainers will enjoy the bliss of not really being aware of the news, while others will take a proactive approach to keeping the map updated and accurate. Hopefully we see a strong group of PGO Wayfinders step up in order to compensate for the loss of Ingress players, especially in the reviewing process, as things with the PGO map may come to a screeching halt without them. Lured Up Podcast 328 Record Date - 11/13/24 Publish Date - 11/15/24 We are only a few weeks away from the conclusion of the Max Out Season, and with a barrage of events behind us, there is still plenty to look forward to. We begin with a recap of the Harvest Festival, Mankey Community Day, and the amazing Food Drives that were part of the event. We also saw the first Community Ambassador Check-In Timed Research which further incentivizes Trainers to visit or create their own Ambassador led events. Simply Groundbreaking is up next and Dynamax Drilbur is coming along with it. Even as a One-Star Max Battle, this Pokémon will have a profound impact on the PvE meta as Dynamax Excadrill is the lead counter against the Wild Area's premier boss, Toxtricity! It should be a priority for all Trainers to play during next week's Max Monday, to stock up on Drilbur and Candy XL. You will want to go into the Wild Area prepped and ready to go! The Into the Wild event will be our last before the Wild Area, and will keep us very busy as we await the global event. Meetups have been popping up everywhere, including in Rochester, New Hampshire. Anyone in that area is urged to come out to meet Adam and the Tri-City Pokémon Campfire Group for a day of grinding and even a giveaway for a GO Plus+! The most interesting news of the week comes from just outside of Albany, NY, where local officials are looking to put an end to organized Pokémon GO events in a public park. Even local news stations have picked up the story, and it could have a profound impact on the local Pokémon GO Community. After receiving so many messages about it, I was able to connect with Spencer, the Community lead and creator of a petition to keep Pokémon GO in Crossings Park. We urge EVERYONE to read up on the story and get involved. Let's support our fellow Trainers! Lured Up Podcast 286 Record Date - 10/7/2023 Publish Date - 10/10/2023 The Pokémon GO Community has been on some roller coasters lately, and this week really sent us for a loop. The PvP Community is in turmoil as a wave of DM screenshots were released that showed leaders of PvP in a negative light. With a former staffer of GO Stadium airing it all out, JRHonda from GO Stadium has resigned. We are confident we will be feeling the waves of this shake up in the coming weeks. In gameplay news, recap our last week of Training includingGO Battle Weekend and the Detective Pikachu event. The Ticket of Treats pseudo Battle-Pass is underway with with the first of four Timed Research. Timburr Community Day still doesn't really feel right but we are excited to have Guzzlord to whoop on this week. We close things out with a little Battle Party to get you ready. After a week like this on Social Media and within our Communities, it is important to remember that we are all here to play a game and have fun. We all have different ways that we connect with the game, and we have varying levels of engagement from casual to hardcore. That being said this week reminds us to hold true to your values and stand up to adversity. PolymersUp took his time and aired things out that address something that has been plaguing the Community for years. A Lycanroc in Mareep clothing. We have been campaigning for years on what we believe it means to Build The Community. What we saw this week was an example of how misguided people can become. Lured Up Podcast 183 Record Date - 6/23/2021 Publish Date - 6/26/2021 This has been quite the week for the Pokémon GO Community. In a absolutely terrible turn of events, some members of the community took their toxic behavior to new levels. Upset over the Exploration Bonus announcement, the trolls lashed out and threatened Niantic employees, to the point where friend of the show, Liz George deactivated her personal Twitter account. On this episode we will detail the updates and the fallout that followed. To bring some balance, we Stroke The Bear this week and ask the community to share some of their best memories about Pokémon GO. We had an outpouring of responses, and do our best to keep spirits high during this all time low. We are eternally grateful for our community, and appreciate everyone that took the time to get involved with the segment this week. “Regenerative goes one step beyond sustainability. It's making something better than you found it.” -Courtney Boyd Myers Episode Description: Did you know? Over 50 billion burgers are consumed annually in the US alone? If arranged in a straight line, they could circle the earth 32 times! It’s fair to say that humans love their burgers. Yet, there is much debate about just how (un)healthy and sustainable this unquestionable food favorite is for humans- and for our planet. The public has been introduced to alternative proteins and an increasing number of better-for-you substitutes. In this episode, Justine talks with Courtney Boyd Myers, the CEO and Co-Founder of AKUA, which just launched a much-hyped kelp burger! (Guess we can still enjoy burgers after all!) Kelp is one of the superfoods slowly gaining popularity in the market today. It’s overflowing with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals that boost health- and its benefits are said to include revving the metabolism, helping the body absorb water, combating stress, protecting the heart, and ridding the body of cancer-causing free radicals. Courtney relates the genesis of this tasty and healthy meat alternative, describes the process of regenerative ocean farming and the potential kelp has in the future of food. Courtney also talks about how this innovation has provided an opportunity for AKUA to promote health and give back to the people, the community, and the environment. Tune in and discover more interesting facts about seaweeds, regenerative aquaculture and seafood alternatives! Connect with Courtney: Courtney Boyd Myers is the CEO and Co-Founder of AKUA, a company that produces tasty and healthy burgers from kelp. AKUA utilizes regenerative aquaculture for their kelp farm, which is healthy for the planet and can also reverse the effects of climate change. Courtney is an investor in Public, which she describes as a ‘new age version of a trading service our parents used.’ She says that she’s online on Public every day and folks can reach out to her there to chat about what’s going on in the markets. Courtney is an avid kite surfer, swimmer, & rebel mermaid at heart. She is happiest in flippers or bare feet. She is "mostly vegan" but being married to a Frenchman means every once in a while, she sneaks in some fine cheese! Lured Up Podcast Creator Series Episode 28 Recording Date - 4/17/21 Publish Date - 5/10/21 One of the best things about the Pokémon GO Community is meeting people that you genuinely connect with and have an immediate kindred vibe with. That is exactly how I felt when I spoke with Becky and Eli from Legendary Adventures. They brought an amazing vibe that was genuine and honest and our conversation was a complete blast. We discuss their story from how they met to how they have developed a fun and active Pokémon GO Community. They are also huge Disney freaks which scores them a ton of points in my book! Matt and Laura Grundler art educators in the Plano, Texas, more importantly we are parents and family first. It is a crazy wonderful life raising three creative kids, sharing our love of art education with our professional learning network and continuing to grow everyday. As we enter the 2014-2015 school year, Laura enters her fifteenth year and Matt his eleventh year as educators. Our path to becoming educators was one of both genetics and passion. We are both fortunate to come from long lines of educators with our strongest role models in our parents. In fact, this is actually the reason we pushed away from teaching, we both had an up close view of the all-consuming lifestyle of being educator. Laura began college as an undeclared major and quickly discovered a desire to combine her artistic passion with leadership endeavors. After teaching middle school art, high school art and working as an assistant principal, she has moved into the role of district Visual Arts Coordinator. Her passions for art, education and leadership continue to collide as she leads the district's outstanding visual arts teachers successfully instruct student artists. Matt took a slightly different path majoring in graphic design and working in that field the first few years of his career; however after finding the commercial side of design to be unsatisfying he was persuaded by his family to seek alternative certification, where he soon found his niche as a K-5 Art teacher. Matt has taken a new job in the secondary level teaching art at the middle school level and feels he helps students discover a life long love of art. I use this online resource to gain insight, gather resources, and develop my leadership capacity. The #1 Leadership Online community is generous and authentic, an antidote to the clutter and noise that other social media sites have become. What makes this community different is that it is: An investment, not free A private community with the same goal A conversation, not a variety of self-promoting presentations Evergreen, not ephemeral Focused on serving school leaders, not advertisers, companies, or investors I highly recommend using Go! Community to enhance your leadership skills! https://gumroad.com/a/907916403 (Click Here to Try Go! Community) This post contains affiliate links.
