McAnally-Hilgemann Racing's Tyler Ankrum joins Davey Segal (6:35) to discuss his best start to the season in his NASCAR career, how and why his habits to prepare for races have changed and if he can pinpoint why his performance has taken an uptick in 2024. One reason why may be his new team. Ankrum dives into how he's gelling with MHR, what Bill McAnally is like as a team owner and leader, why Mike Hillman is the right crew chief for him, how low his confidence got over the last few years and how good it feels to be running back up front with regularity again. He also explains what the teammate dynamic is like at MHR, looks ahead to Worldwide Technology Raceway at Gateway this weekend and shares what the No. 18 needs to improve upon with 5 races to go before the playoffs. Plus, what a typical weekday looks like for him as a farmer, the money-making business it truly is, how many cowboy boots he has, what brought him to Davey's backyard in Washington, D.C. recently and more. Davey also discusses Kyle Larson's foiled double attempt thanks to the weather interfering, why he should and will get a waiver from NASCAR and shares his take on Stewart-Haas Racing ceasing operations at the end of the 2024 season. Leigh Ankrum is a Functional Bodywork practitioner, teacher, and founder of The Ankrum Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This training center teaches practitioners to work with the body's natural intelligence to restore health and balance, by addressing the root cause of physical challenges for each individual. Leigh has more than 37 years of experience using Osteopathic Manipulation, Visceral Manipulation, Myofascial Release (Rolfing), Neuro-Muscular Therapy, and Craniosacral Therapy, using them to treat her patients holistically and interactively - because she believes this is the future of healthcare - and so do I. More people are looking for a more integrated and sustainable version of healing. In Leigh's work, she is looking at the body as a whole to find the core issues that are creating your pain patterns. The focus of Leigh's approach is to learn the language of the body to find the origins of the dysfunction to allow the body's own intelligence in restoring and balancing to take hold.Listen in as Leigh and I discuss what functional bodywork is, how to work with the body as a whole, and how to create sustainable healing.Connect with Leigh:Website: https://www.ankruminstitute.com/

Kurt Busch took the checkered flag in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night. It was Kurt's 31st career victory and perhaps his most memorable as he battled with his brother Kyle for victory before coming out on top. We'll break down the entire night of racing from Kentucky & give our opinions on who had a good night and who really struggled. Plus, we'll discuss both the NASCAR XFINITY & NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series events from Kentucky that saw Cole Custer & Tyler Ankrum go to victory lane. For Custer, it was his fifth win of the season as his season continues to impress. For Ankrum, it was his first career Truck Series victory and the first victory for DGR/CROSLEY Racing. David Gilliland's team made it harder for his son Todd to make the playoffs and basically puts him in a win or go home scenario for the playoffs. We'll also take your phone calls at 917-889-8280!

As an artist, is it true that the higher your highs are, the lower your lows will be too? Why is it so important (and often hard) to focus on expressing instead of impressing? This week, the Ankrum brothers sit down with Rob over a french press to answer these questions and more. Bestselling author Barbara Ankrum was a successful commercial actress until her love of romance novels led to a publishing contract. Many books later, she still believes in happy endings and feels very lucky to do what she loves, with her husband, two children, two cats and one scruffy, unrepentant dog at her side. Her contemporary and historical romances have won numerous awards, including Romantic Times' K.I.S.S Awards. She was a 2016 finalist in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence Contest and has been nominated twice for Romance Writers of America's RITA Award. Host Patricia McLinn talks with Barbara about her experience as an actress and screenwriter, why she has to write a book straight through, and why deadlines are necessary. In Barbara's words: "I would say that we are all different ... we all approach it differently. Thank goodness, because that makes for a lot of great, interesting stories." (28:10).
