Dr. Brandon Parker (@dr.brandon.parker) is a chiropractor, strength coach, and host of the Revival Method podcast. Growing up as an athlete Brandon faced his own challenges with injuries. After working only as a strength coach for a number of years, he decided to become a chiropractor as well and blend the worlds of strength training and rehab. Your body was designed to move. I think we all know this intuitively, but often lose it somewhere along the way. With widely ranging advice from doctors, manual therapists and friends and family it can be confusing to know what's right and what's wrong when it comes to injuries and training in general. Dr. Parker helps to dispel a lot of the myths and give you the nuance behind it so that you can understand how to apply it to yourself. This is extremely important because all injuries are a little bit different, and all bodies are a little bit different, resulting in slightly different approaches to training and rehab. We discuss all the details and go over a ton of myths in this episode. The main reason I wanted to get Brandon on here was to talk about mobility and the mindset and perspective you need to have in order to just move better. Most people have it in their heads that it's normal to, as we get older, tend to be hurting and to not move as well. That's not the case at all! Brandon is amazing with this stuff and puts out some of the best content around it and I wanted to get his perspective around not only this but the mindset and the things you need to be doing in order to move better. So you just walk around with less pain and so you can be happier and live a better life. At the end of the day, if you're in pain all the time—physically, let alone emotionally and mentally—that's going to dampen your experiences in life. It's going to kill anything you do and you're overall going to not be as happy of a person. We get into a lot in this episode, including how to fix your relationship with exercise and the mindset you need to have going into moving better and mobility. The Las Vegas Raiders traded Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller to the New York Giants receiving a third round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Waller's salary, injury history and play all contributed to the need to move on. Another factor was his supposed beef with Maxx Crosby, Josh McDaniels and the rest of the team. The Raiders trade Waller means multiple things. The NFL is three days into free agency. The entire Darren Waller interview is worth your time but they focused on two important factors with the Raiders. 1) Waller addressed the red zone issues under Jon Gruden and how new Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels is going to fix the problem. 2) How he and quarterback Derek Carr have such a strong relationship they can be honest about what they each need to work on and communicate in a healthy way. They also discuss who gets more targets in the red zone this season: Davante Adams, Darren Waller or Hunter Renfrow? NFL wide receiver Chris Lacy signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. Lacy is signing up to play with a LOADED wide receiver room. Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Keelan Cole, Mack Hollins, Demarcus Robinson, Tyron Johnson, Dillon Stoner, DJ Turner and others. ESPN ranked all 32 NFL teams by the quality of their 25-years-old and under stars. The Las Vegas Raiders came in 29th. They listed no blue-chip players. However, Maxx Crosby, Johnathan Abram, Bilal Nichols, John Simpson, Andre James, Clelin Ferrell and Foster Moreau just missed the cut. This demonstrates how Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock's drafts really hurt the Raiders. Tashan Reed from The Athletic commented in his training camps notes that NFL Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby "has been seemingly unblockable during training camp." Maxx Crosby and Dylan Parham apparently got into a scrap during padded practice this week. The Windbags discuss if this a good thing, a bad thing or doesn't matter at all. Not including IR and PUP platers, 12 Raiders were missing from practice on Monday including Brandon Parker, Nick Bowers, Darren Waller, Clelin Ferrell, Divine Deablo, Rock Ya-Sin, Anthony Averett and Tyree Gillespie. Four cornerbacks and three tight ends did not practice. When does missing practice become a major issue for the Raiders? The Athletic also reports that Derek Carr has thrown ZERO interceptions in training camp so far. Alex Leatherwood is the starting right tackle over Brandon Parker, Hunter Renfrow is the punt returner and the defense is in a 4-3. Who will Josh McDaniels play in the Hall of Fame game and NFL preseason, who won't make the cut at running back and what is the optimum offensive line up? With RJ out for two weeks, he had to listen to Soto and Rory trash Derek Carr in his absence. Soto walks us through how the DeAndre Hopkins trade from the Houston Texans to the Arizona Cardinals led to Tyreek Hill leaving the Kansas City Chiefs. The Kansas City Chiefs have now lost Tyreek Hill, Tyrann Mathieu (FA), Jarran Reed, CB Charvarius Ward, Mike Remmers, Demarcus Robinson and others. With the team shedding players for cap space, the Windbags discuss if the dynasty is over in Kansas City. The Windbags looked at the ten biggest contracts given out in free agency during the Jon Gruden era. Trent Brown, Tyrell Williams, Lamarcus Joyner, Cory Littleton, Yannick Ngakoue, Carl Nassib, Nick Kwiatkoski, Tahir Whitehead, Marcus Mariota and Jordy Nelson. Gruden was a terrible talent evaluator.
